Unable to view embedded pdf's in browser

When I click on a link to a catalog that is embedded in the webpage, it says to install Adobe Reader, which is installed. This should be fixed as it is a HUGE issue. Go to www.grainger.com and then find a link on any item to view the catalog page to see the issue in question. Any suggestions? I would also like to be able to save pdf's I open in Reader X, but there does not appear to be a way of doing this.

Hi Shane,
I have configured Single Sign-On and SAP Users have full access on this, still unable to view the Crystal Reports in NWBC. So I have done workaround as mentioned above to achieve this.
Please go through the below link to get better idea.

  • How can I disable viewing of PDF-files in browser in Adobe Reader XI?

    Hi everyone
After I have upgraded to Adobe Reader XI, I not longer can find the checkbox under settings>Internet, where I can disable that Adobe Reader XI viewing PDF-files in my browser.
If I instead press on the button, I can see in the dialog box Adobe refers to an article there give me instruction to turn off the viewing of PDF-files via my browser settings. When I follow these instructions, I can see that the plug-in to Adobe is disabled when I not viewing PDF-files in my browser, and enabled when I viewing PDF-files in my browser.
    Therefore:
    1. Why has Adobe removed the checkbox where I can disable viewing of PDF-files in my browser?
    2. How can I now disable and enable viewing of PDF in my browser?
My operating system is Windows 7 64-bit, and my browser is Internet Explorer 8.
    Very thanks.
    Regards,
    Boholdt

    Hi again
I have read the article, but I can still not find the plugin I should
    disable in Internet Explorer 8.
If I see a PDF-file in my browser, I can select and disable a plugin called
PDF Adobe Reader, but next time I open Internet Explorer 8, I not can see
    the plugin.
Another method is between the guide for accessibility
(edit>Accessibility>Setup Assistant. On screen number 4, you can find the
    checkbox.
Since I am blind, I can find the assistant.
For my interessting, it is possible for sighted users of Adobe Reader to
    find the same assistant?
    Very thanks.
    Regards

  • Unable to view scanned PDF files

I registered for Adobe ExportPDF in February. Since then Adobe on my PC was upgraded, and now I am unable to view scanned PDF files. What can be done about this?
    Thanks
    Rika

    Hi David
The update that was done in response to a prompt was done to 10.1.9. Something apparently went wrong, because when I uninstalled it and reinstalled 11.0.06 everything worked fine.
    Thanks

  • Unable to view/print pdf from Banks website.

I am unable to view/print pdf files from banks website, a white blank screen appears.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe multiple times.  I'm running Windows Explorer 9 and Adobe Reader XI.  I am able to view/print these files from a different computer and save them to a flash drive.  I am then able to open the files on my computer directly from the flash drive.  I am thinking maybe I have a setting enabled/disabled somewhere??

Thank you for your response.  Please be patient with my ignorance--I am not a power user.
1)I do not know what you mean when you direct me to open the PDFs within Reader.  I typically do open PDFs that are already stored in my files on my computer, but I don't know how do vies/download pdfs that I need to view or download from the Web from within Reader.  Can you please tell me the steps involved?
    2)  Do you happen to know whether this is a new development with Chrome?  I have been using both Chrome and Adobe Reader seamlessly for several years with no issues.

  • Customer unable to view my pdf everybody else can. need an answer urgently as he is a dept manager

I created an pdf form in Adobe9.  everybody can view it except one of my clients users.
    SEE attached image.
    address http://www.financialcounsellors.org
select FORM from menu, then the Hugs Application form. I even made it backwards compatable to version 6.  Every body can still see it except this one guy.
He works in a large office enviroment with a big IT section  but on his office computer he is unable to open the pdf file. I have just spoken with him and he tells me of all the pdf's on the forms page he can only open ONE (the water assist pdf)   he just happens to be the area manager so it pretty important I get this problem solved.
I sugested he upgrade to Adobe reader 9  but that did not work for him.
Thats about as much history on this matter I can think of.
The big question is, given the facts above WHY IS HE UNABLE TO OPEN THE PDF ?
very urgent need to solve this problem yesterday.
    TIA

    Bill
    This is the response I got from the client;
" The pdf file (Abode Acrobat) opens in Adobe Reader"
I will alter the backward compatability fron v6 to v7 to see if that will make a differance.
    You said;
If he has Acrobat, adding Reader 9 is not a good idea and is not recommended.     (but it opens in Reader automatically)
It looks a though his IT have put Acrobat and reader on his computer.
How do I go back and  embedding ALL of the fonts , I'm new to this and dont  know
where to find the function that will do that ?
Just spoken to client again for more clarity and it appears that when they select the LINK on the menu bar they get the error message
and yet earler they advised the pdf file would not open.
Have just spoken with client again a few min ago  They are running internet Explorer 6  ( It seems we are moving off topic )  would that cause a problem with IE6 not recognising an Acrobat 9 pdf link and it throws back the error message ? I'm running IE7 in winxp

  • Viewing a pdf in Firefox browser has white lines. How can I fix the problem?

Viewing a pdf document in the FireFox browser (other browsers the document is fine) shows white lines though the pictures. I have tried different ways to save the document (printing or save as) as a pdf and I either get white lines or missing content while viewing on Firefox.

Please update to the latest version of Firefox.
*[[Update Firefox to the latest version]]
Also make sure that your graphics card drivers and WebGl drivers are up to date
*[[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
Which pdf viewer are you using?
In order to change the default reader for PDF files (to not open PDF files with Firefox's internal PDF reader), follow these steps:
#Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and click Options (Preferences for Linux and Mac).
#In the Options (Preferences for Linux and Mac) window, select the ''Applications'' panel.
#In the ''Search'' field, type ''PDF''. You should find ''Portable Document Format (PDF)''.
#On the right hand side you should find an ''Action'' column. Use that to select your favorite PDF reader. In order to view PDF files in Firefox, choose ''Preview in Firefox''.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Unable to load embedded PDF - must change settings for all users

Hello.  We recently updated to Adobe Reader X on our three terminal servers.  Since the update we have found that a lot of our users are having an issue loading PDF's that are embedded in web sites.
They access different websites that have such features and the PDF must be displayed in the browswer for it to load correctly.  Anyways, I have properly found what settings to adjust in Adobe Reader, my issue is that I need these settings adjusted for all 50 something employees and I really don't want to log into each user account and change the settings.
The settings that must be adjusted are as follows:
Edit > Preferences > General > Uncheck Enable Protected Mode at Startup
Edit > Preferences > Internet > Uncheck Display in Read Mode by Default
Edit > Preferences > Internet > Uncheck Allow fast web view
Edit > Preferences > Internet > Uncheck Allow speculative downloading in the background
I have found the registry files for the Protected Mode startup and Display in Read Mode, but am unable to find the other two registry settings.  Does anyone have any idea where those might be?  Or if you have a better suggestion on how to deploy Adobe with these settings already configured?  I have looked in the Customization Tool but was unable to find all the settings there as well.  Thanks!

Acrobat is not permitted to run as a server process.
Licenses are assigned to individual users, each of whom must have their own serialized copy.

  • Can not view embedded PDF video

I'm running Windows 8.1. I have some PDFs that contain embedded videos. In AR 11 I ws able to view them. However, I can not get AR 11 to install on my Windows 8.1. I installed Adobe Reader Touch and when I double clickon the Image to view the video nothing happens.

I was able to get AR XI installed by running the installation instead of downloading and then installing. I can now view the videos.

  • Unable to view a PDF made with another program

I have a .pdf file made by GNUCash that cannot be viewed by Adobe Reader Ver. 9/Vista. It can be viewed just fine in versions 7 and 8 and with .pdf viewers under Linux. What is the problem and how do I fix it?

Most likely there is a problem with pdf file. Each version of Reader
tightens compliance with the pdf specification. This helps avoid
problems with virii and spyware using that hole as a vector of attack.

  • Unable to view Japanese PDF

    Windows 7, Adobe Reader X (10.1.6)
If I download 'FontPack1000_ja_JP' then I am able to view the doc.
As I'm in a corporate environment I paid for FontFolio_11_1_ESD1_LS1.
After searching and reading docs I managed to find the Japanese fonts (about 12); I've installed all and on opening the PDF doc I'm not able to view but am presented with a popup request to download FontPack1000_ja_JP
Can anyone advise what steps I need to take; also since the license has been purchased can I not just use the FontPack1000_ja_JP?

    easyPeasy wrote:
Anybody have any other ideas on how to install from the purchased font folio pack?
No, you will need to install the Japanese Font Pack, I think even for the MUI version.
As the font pack is an extension of Adobe Reader, it may already be part of the distribution agreement for Adobe Reader.  You may want to ask in https://forums.adobe.com/community/licensing/ for confirmation.

  • Viewing PDF files in-browser with Firefox (17.0 as of this writing) on a Mac

    Hello there,
since I don't remember when there has been a problem with the Adobe Reader NPAPI plug-in and Firefox. Previously, with earlier versions of Firefox and with Adobe Reader 10.x the problem was that the plug-in wasn't working properly and one got a blank page without any explanation. This led to Firefox black-listing the Adobe Reader NPAPI plug-in and having it disabled by default, if I remember correctly. Now it seems we've got the situation reversed, as if Adobe has black-listed Firefox as a browser, because when I try viewing a PDF file in-browser with the most up-to-date versions (17 and 11 for Firefox and Reader respectively), I'm getting the following error:
Adobe Reader cannot show documents in this browser.
We are sorry, but Adobe Reader is unable to show documents in this browser configuration.
Please use your browser to download this file and open it in Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat.
To avoid this message in the future, many browsers provide a way to turn off certain add-ons, and some are able to show this document natively.
Please contact your browser vendor for more details.
All's well that ends well, but unfortunately we haven't seen any solution so far. With Safari 6.x the plug-in is working fine. With Firefox it isn't. Let's see what can be done: in its last sentence the error message recommends that I contact my browser vendor for more details. The wording of the first two sentences however suggests otherwise: "Adobe Reader cannot show documents in this browser. Adobe reader is unable to show documents in this browser configuration." Thus, my question is
What is it in this browser and/or browser configuration that doesn't suit the Adobe Reader plug-in? Is it only this newest Firefox version (17) that isn't supported or is it the Firefox browser and why? Should I be able to spoof Firefox' identity and make it seem like Safari to the plug-in, what's going to happen?

Very frustrating, but I found the fix (on another site - can't believe with 360 views, no one here knew). In Firefox, PDFs are automatically set to open with the faulty Adobe plug-in. To change it to open with Adobe Reader, check out the instructions here:

  • Unable to view video files in browser :[

Does anyone know why Safari is unable to view video files in the browser ??? I used to be able to view .mpg video files right in the browser and when viewing .wmv files Safari would open up Windows Media Player which would then play the file. I really dug that feature. Now when clicking on a .mpg video file, Safari simply downloads the file to my HD and that's it. Is there an easy fix for this issue ??? Hello !!! Anybody ???

Tell the QuickTime plug-in to play the file inside a browser window.
Open System Preferences/QuickTime and click the Advanced tab. Click the MIME Settings button and then put a check mark in MPEG media.
Quit and relaunch your browser for these changes to take effect.

  • Acrobat 9 March 6th unable to view pdf created in AA9

I have Adobe Acrobat v9 and have done some maintanence on the pdf.
My client on his office computer can see the pdf , On his home computer he is unable to view the pdf he tells me he has adobe reader 6
can any of you guys see the pdf ?
    address is http://www.financialcounsellors.org/
select Forms on the menu bar and then the 3rd link down (Hugs Application Form)
    TIA

It was no problem in AA8 to see the from. My guess is that you are using some features in AA9 or Designer (if you used the designer forms part of Acrobat) that AR6 can not recognize. You might try to save the form a AA6 compatible (use the Reduce File Size or PDF Optimizer for this save).
