Unable to view pdf files in IE 11.

Unable to view PDF files in IE 11, Winows 7. Works fine in Google Chrome on same pc. Everything is up todate.

See the solution at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2716529
However, that Fix-it won't work on Windows 7; you will need to make the registry change manually.  Download, unzip, then run the attached registry script to change that registry value.

  • Unable to view PDF files in Infoview

I am unable to view pdf files in InfoView (Business Objects Edge Series XI 3.0)
When I select the pdf file from Infoview, I receive the message 'Do you want to save this file' which only allows me to save the document to a location on my computer.
Other users can view the file in Infoview, so it probably relates to a setting on my computer.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

I've had a little look on Adobe's knowledge base; try this to check whether the issue is related with opening PDF in your browser in general:
"Determine if the web browser can open the PDF file from your local hard drive rather than from the web:
In the web browser, choose File > Open (or Open File).
Choose All Files from the Files Of Type pop-up menu (Windows)
    Click Browse
Select the PDF file you saved in step 1 of task 5, and then click Open to open the PDF file. If Acrobat or Adobe Reader displays the file, but won't display it on the web, the web server has a problem serving the PDF file. Contact the webmaster of the site from which you downloaded the PDF file."
If so, try the troubleshooting steps mentioned here:

    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

  • Unable to view pdf files sourced from websites

    Hi
I have previously had no trouble viewing pdf files from various websites, however am now unable to.  It appears to be loading and then just comes up with a blank screen.
I am able to view pdf files which have been emailed without problem.
I have removed Acrobat Reader & reloaded but this has not helped.
I am able to view pdfs on our laptop & ipad and the settings appear to be the same.
Does anyone know what I can do to resolve this problem?
    Thanks!

For Safari, you need to remove the adobe pdf plugins which Adobe apparently screwed up.  You need to remove:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/AdobePDFViewer.plugin
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin
I think you can "get away with" removing just the second one.  But both for sure should allow you to open pdf's in a browser (all browsers).
If you are not using Safari the above will work for other browsers too, although in FireFox, you could just disable the use of those plugins from within Firefox (Tools menu --> AddOns --> Plugins).

  • Unable To View PDF Files From Google Mail

This is probably a GMail problem, but it's on my iPod Touch so I thought I'd ask.
Up until recently, I've been able to view PDF files that have been attached to emails in GMail on my iPod Touch. However lately, I've been getting the following error message when I click on the PDF file:
    +Server Error+
+We're sorry, but Google Mail is temporarily unavailable. We're currently working to fix the problem -- please try logging in to your account in a few minutes.+
Well, I've done the logging out and logging back in, and it doesn't work.
When I try to download the files on my computer, it works fine.
Is anybody else experiencing this problem?
    Thanks in advance.

I think it is an Acrobat issue. I have seen it and with PDFs not linked to Fm or Rh. Sometimes you can see the issue and sometimes you don't. I also have Nitro PDF and that displays the PDF without problems.
If it is a PDF you create, I guess you could try some different settings or use something else to create it to see if the problem goes away.

  • Rh9:Unable to view PDF files from search results in Firefox

Is this a Firefox plug-in issue, rather than a Robohelp issue?
    Background info:
    Using Rh9
    Firefox 23.0 (latest version)
Works successfully in Chrome (latest version) and Microsoft IE 8 and IE 9
Using Firefox, I am able to view the test PDF file from within a topic, via a hyperlink. Unable to view the test PDF when it appears within the search results.
    Failure behavior
Information message appears at the top of the screen, indicating that "This PDF document might not be displayed correctly."
A button appears: "Open with Different Viewer"
In the main frame, the page is blank except for the Adobe Viewer controls: i.e., zoom, page navigation, download, print, ....
    Any ideas?
    Thank you,

  • Unable to view pdf files

On nokia lumia 800 that is a windows phone i have beign using adobe reader but all of a sudden, it wont allow me view my pdf documents. also my bluetooth fails to identify other bluetooths available.

What is the producer of these PDF files? It might be the case that they're created with 3dparty generator that doesn't allow reader to correctly process it.

  • Unable to view PDF (baggage file) in CHM

    Hi,
I have recently started using a new desktop pc running Windows 7. I am now unable to view PDF files (added as baggage files in RoboHelp) in the CHMs generated by RoboHelp. Even existing CHMs (generated before switching desktops) have this problem. Has anyone experienced the same problem and managed to solve it?
    Sofie

A while back someone told me they had a similar problem with IE8 and advised they fixed as below:
"After fiddling around with some settings, I found that if you go to Settings/Safety and enable Active X Filtering, the embedded files open normally."
That will only fix it on your machine though. Do these CHMs work on other machines OK?

  • Unable view PDF files that I download

I am unable to view PDF file in Adobe Reader.  I have a pop-up that states "Before viewing PDF documents in this browser you must launch Adobe Reader and accept the End User License Agreement, then Quit and relaunch the browser".  I have no idea where to accept the agreement, because it hasn't asked me to, and I have updated it.  Any suggestions??

Do exactly what the message says: open the Adobe Reader application (not in the browser!), then accept the EULA.

  • Unable to open pdf files in Safari 5.1

Last night I installed Safari 5.1 on my MBP running 10.6.8 and am now unable to view pdf files from Google searches. Clicking on a pdf in Google the window does dark, there is a QuickTime icon and the page seems to download. When it finishes, the QT icon is replaced by the front page of the document but I am unable to scroll down to see more. In some instances the QT icon disappears and nothing loads.
    Any ideas?

I visited a "genius" in the Apple Store, Leicester, this morning. After some playing around he seems to have sorted it. Apparently - now they tell me! - you don't need Adobe Reader on Macs as the Mac has its own pdf reader built-in. Safari 5.1 is now clashing with Reader and the best approach is to remove Reader - and the relevent preference files. I took one of my MBPs into the store and am just checking it out to see if everything is now ok. I'm now planning to make the changes on my other machine and will report back. (The genius said that my best approach was to bring in the second MBP but I'm not very convenient to Leicester so I'm going to give it whirl myself.)
    Wish me luck.
But why did we load Reader in the first place? Are we that unusual in the Mac community? Surely, others must have done the same and are having the same problem with Safari 5.1???
