Unable to view web page no matter what browser i use

Ok on my MacBook i am unable to view a web site no matter what browser i use. If i go to another computer in my network i am able to view this site. If i take my laptop to another network it will still not work.  I have run permissions and disk warrior. I did try a few things with onyx as well but was not so sure what i was doing. Any suggestions?

What is the error?
The DNS cache could be stuck.
In the Terminal try:dig www.macupdate.comIt should reply that it is 70.86.154.194.
If that doesn't work, you DNS is not working and pointing you to the wrong place.
You can try clearing the DNS cache with dscacheutil -flushcacheAlmost forgot to mention: there are several threads on similar problems.

    Try this:
    Tools > Internet Options > Advanced
    Uncheck the box that says "Use Java 2 <version> for applet (requires restart)". Restart your browser.

  • Unable to view web pages with browsers

    I have currently moved to another city due to the hurricane. I am hooked up to the internet through a interoffice network. I can see the "pages" of my internet explorer off of my "pc" - however, I can not see the "pages" of my browsers (safari and explorer) on my mac. Totally confused - never happened before. Please help.
    My website is "down" due to the storm also - no email at this time throuch .Mac.

    Hi, Warren, welcome to Apple's user-to-user discussion forums.
    When you say you can see "pages" on Internet Explorer, does that mean you can access the Internet from Internet Explorer? Is this how you are accessing these discussion forums? If by "pages" you do not mean web pages on the Internet, what do you mean?
    Is your Mac properly connected to the network so that it has access to the Internet. Can you send and receive mail, for example?
    You can access your .Mac account from any Internet connection. just go to Mac.com and log in as usual. Once you have logged into .Mac, you can use Web mail to read or send email. You can also set up your Mail program to automatically download and send email using your .Mac account.
    I am sorry to hear about your relocation from the storm. I hope you and those you are concerned about are ok.

  • Wireless signal but unable to view web pages

    I have a WRT54G version 6 wireless router, it's security enabled and my XP laptop recognizes the signal and says I'm connected, excellent strength. Problem is that when I open IE no pages will load, if I connect the modem to my ethernet connection I can connect fine.
    Any ideas?

    I'm having the exact same problem.  This morning I went to the website to follow the directions from Easy Answers: How to set up PPPoE DSL connections with Linksys Router......just a great help this was...after all the plug/unplug/plug/computer off/on/off/on....When I clicked on IE icon to connect to the internet, All it Connected to was this LINKSYS page...couldn't go  any place else!!!
     I've had to unplug everything and go back to the DSL modem direct to this PC to get on the internet to go to this link....Now, interesting it does make sence that both the modem and router can not have the same IP address, but if I change the router..what do I change it too???  May DSL works at 192.168.1.1 which is the same as the link I went too to get the Linksys page.  Thanks

  • 877W unable to view web pages

    Hi all,
    I've been trying to setup the new 877W DSL router for last days with no luck.
    Situation is as follows:
    Everything seems to be alright, DSL connects properly, and my pc is able to ping and traceroute to sites.
    Problem comes when trying to use the web browser, I'm not getting any kind of heavy page (it does load google after 30 secs).
    I've checked it does NAT translations as I can see them with the sh ip nat translations command.
    I'm copying the whole config. Thanks in advance for your help, Any comment will be helpful.

    Hi,
    2 things to try, first you say that you can ping sites while not able to web browse, it might be a DNS problem accordingly please try to check your dns (ping the DNS and then try doing nslookup).
    Second, for the MTU and MSS its recommended to have:
    interface
    ip tcp adjust-mss 1452
    interface
    mtu 1492
    HTH, please do rate all helpful replies,

  • Cannot centre web page no matter what.

    Hello,
    Like the title says, I tried all methods: Making the left and right margin of the wrapper tag set to: auto, I tried just making the margin set to: auto aswell, and it still doesnt centre. I tried the old method of div align="centre" after the body tag, but that doesnt work either.
    Here's the code for my CSS (the wrapper div is exactly:  #main_container) The wrapper is not at the top for some reason, (I just put it there now to make it easier to find)

    Without seeing the structure of your HTML, it is always difficult to suggest anything useful.  However, the basic principle of centering a page is to have a body CSS and main_container CSS to be something like this:
    body {
         margin: 0;
         padding: 0;
         text-align: center;
    #main_container {
         margin: 0 auto;
         text-align: left;
    This should work in most cases.

  • Why won't the full web page load on any browser?

    My webpage won't load fully no matter what browser I use (safari, chrome). I tried downloading the latest Java and that still doesn't work. I've also played around with turning extensions on and off but still nothing.

    Go step by step and test.
    1. Safari > Preferences > Extensions
        Turn off Extensions if any and launch Safari again to test.
        Turn on those one by one and test.
    2. Empty Caches
        Safari > Preference > Advanced
        Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
        Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
        Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
    3. Safari > Preferences > Extensions
        Turn off Extensions if any and launch Safari again to test.

  • TS3276 i am unable to open web pages from email links on my ipad

    I am unable to open web pages from email links on my ipad

    A few more details might help, if nobody else recognizes this.
    What happens when you try to open the links?
    Can you post an example of a link that doesn't work?
    Is there any particular source for the mail with the (bad) links, or is mail from all sources failing?
    If you happen to know it, what's the format of the mail message?  (Maybe the message is an image?)
    Do the embedded links work as expected from an OS X system running Mail.app, or some system and some other other mail client?
    To view the link in iOS: if you press on and hold your finger on an embedded link in most contexts, iOS will show a pop-up with the link contents, and will offer to copy it.  You can use that to acquire and post the link.  If pressing and holding on the link doesn't offer the pop-up, the format of the link itself may not be valid, or it might not really be a link.

  • Unable to load web pages

    I have had my blackberry for about 3 months and until recently I have been able to load and view web pages without any problems.   Now, after I enter a webpage address and hit return, I get a blank screen with 'Loading..' on the bottom, and it stays like that without progessing.
    I get this whether I am at home with a wireless homehub connection or elsewhere.
    I think the problem started when I was trying to access windows live messenger, so I don't know if that is the cause.  I may have  tried enabling java for the website, and again i don't know if this contributed to the problem.  I have restored the original settings to try and  resolve the problem but this hasn''t made any difference.
    My phone also displays the lettes UMA near the signal indicator.  I don't know what this means and whether it can explain the problem.
    I am not particularly IT literate, so if anybody thinks they know what the problem could be. and can explain it in a straightforward way that would be very helpful.

    Service books are the "code" used to transmit data from the internet to your device. The browser requires a service book to operate, just like your email, etc.

  • Unable to view web-based applications

    I have made a small program using Measurement Studio for VB(VB 6).It is a very small program which uses a knob control and a slider control.I have made the Web page and other files using the Package and Deployment Wizard as told in the Application Note which is available in the Meas Studio help.
    I am able to access the web page and see the embedded Application from other computers in the Local Area Network which has got LabVIEW installed in them.When I try to access it from computers which does not have Labview, I am able to see the web page. but the embedded application is not visible.
    my question is :
    1) To see the web baswed application thru a browser is it required to have any Run Time engine or plug-in like the Labview
    Run Time engine which is required to see the Labview VI when published as a web page ?otherwise what-else could be the problem?
    2)Question No.2:
    Does the Meas Studio for VB or CVI has got any real-time version or real-time capabilities? is it possible to do Analog I/P and Analog O/p using my Real-Time card PCI 7030/6040E using programs written in Meas studio for VB or CVI ?
    3) qust. No.3:
    I am not seeeing any Intensity chart in Meas Studio for VB and CVI.Is it not available in these two environments?

    Hello
    When developing web components, the necessary files should be downloaded automatically when you get to the web page ( kinda like a web page that uses flash or quicktime components). If you did not have any errors while packaging the components up, you might want to make sure that the your security settings on the web page allow you view activex controls. And also check this link for general issues with the PDW.
    Answer 2:
    You need to have LabVIEW RT to run code on a 7030 board, because only LabVIEW can target it. You can write dll's using CVI that would run on the RT platform, but you would still need LabVIEW to run the code. Measurement Studio does
    not have any support for RT at this point.
    Answer 3:
    Check out these examples

    These are examples of making an intensity plot using the 3dgraph control.
    I hope this helps

  • TV Out to View Web Pages?

    Hi, I recently purchased an Apple AV Composite cable in order to view web pages (Powerpoint presentations, documents, etc) from my iPhone on a TV or digital projector. I'm a teacher and this would be INCREDIBLY USEFUL for both meetings and classes, especially if a laptop is not available (which is often the case). I'm having difficulty figuring out how to get the safari web page to display on a TV. Playing video clips or even photo slide shows seem to be able to be displayed on a TV, but not web pages or any other screen on the iPhone. Does anyone know of a way (other than jailbreaking or unlocking the iPhone) to view the iPhone display on a TV?
    Is there an app or some trick to get it to work? Thanks.
    Message was edited by: Aguaman

    I just got my Iphone today and was hoping to get something on the TV, from the description here it sounds like pictures will display. Anyone know if a scanned presentation in .tif format will be read as a picture?
    I'll have to try to load a couple to the phone or convert them to .jpg.
    If that works I should be able to scan my presentations and then show them as pictures. I teach Scuba so this would be very handy to have for traveling.

Have un-installed/re-installed Flash Player several times, and still receive messages telling me I need to download Flash Player. My system shows that I am running Flash Player 32-bit, but no videos besides YouTube will play. have been in contact with Microsoft for assisstance, and have followed all their suggestions, but still no luck. I am down to rebooting my laptop from scratch but thought I would see if you might be able to assisst me first.Any suggestions?
