Unable to watch a movie downloaded back in march. Why?
Downloaded Top Gun back in March of this year. Wasn't able to watch it then but didn't have time to care or fix it. But now I want to watch it and I am unable to watch it, Why?
Ok this my problem i purchased a movie on itunes when i have interent connection i can play movie but when i go off line it won't play box comes up says need to authorize computer i sign in and box comes up says unauthorized as soon as i have internet it will play again i also have other movies that i purchased and some will play others won't i have gone to the apple store and they were no help

HT1390 Unable to watched rented movie on ATV2
Last night we wanted to watch a movie on our ATV2 so on my Mac I went into iTunes and rented a HD movie. I let the download start and went off to prepare dinner. When I came back to my Mac a hour later there was an error message on the screen saying there was an error connecting to the store so I reinitiated the download. A few minutes later I got a message saying that the movie was ready for viewing, would i like to watch it now or later. I selected later and left it to continue the download.
In the end we did not end up watching the movie last night, but now I want to watch it. On my ATV2 I went into my library. The Rentals option appeared in the menu and, for some reason, the movie I rented is in the list of rentals twice. When I selected either of the movies to watch I got an error saying that the movie is currently being watched on another device and to stop it running on that device before trying again.
The movie was not being watched anywhere else. How do I tell iTunes this? Why won't it let me watch the movie on the ATV2 if I purchased on my Mac?
I tried rebooting both the ATV2 and Mac. I then deleted both copies of rental from iTunes. One of them I had issues deleting from trash, saying it was being used. I then restarted downloading the rental again and again said I would watch later when prompted. Now the Rentals option does not even appear on my ATV2 when I go to my library on my computer.
I could not find anywhere in the support material if it was actually possible to rent a movie from iTunes on Mac and then view on ATV2. Should it be possible? I did find a support note that said that any movie rented from an ATV2 could only be viewed on that device.
Any clues to fix this problem. I tried calling Apple support but they don't work weekends.Further investigation revealed that I was unable to watch the movie anywhere. I kept getting iTunes Error 42110 when it tried to authenticate.
After searching through iTunes support material I found the solution, which was to remove the 'SC Info' folder from /Users/Shared. After I deleted this folder everything started working again. -
I have just formatted by toshiba hardrive to Mac OS extended as recommended so I could upload movies onto it from my mac however I am now unable to watch these movies through my set top box like I could previously. How can I fix this?
Check the box's documentation to find out what drive formats it's capable of reading. Very few, if any, non-Apple devices natively support drives formatted as Mac OS Extended.

Unable to watch 3 movies I rented. Please help!
I rented 3 movies through iTunes to watch on a trip I went on. While on the airplane I went to watch them on my iPad through the videos app and it told me none of the movies I had rented could open. Does anyone know why this happens? During my layover I was able to watch a movie because my iPad was connected to wireless, but I thought you could still watch them without wireless. If anyone has any advise on this please let me know. I have paid and been unable to watch 4 movies so far on my iPad. Thank you!

I recently was unable to watch a movie I purchased & paid for because my credit card was out of date. Surely you cannot take access to items I have purchased away from me if I do not own a credit card? Does this mean that I will no longer be able to view purchases if I decide to cancel my credit card. If this is the case, I will not be purchasing movies from iTunes again
We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
If you have a credit card on your account then it will need to be valid. If you don't have a card to replace it with then have you tried removing it from your account ? On your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link.

Can't watch HD movie downloaded from iTunes, only color lines come up!
I rented an HD movie from iTunes Store and when I try to watch it only color lines appear. My computer has all requirements to download and watch HD movies.
Why does this happen? Is there any solution?

Upload a movie from an iPhone 4 (in my case) it will appear on me.com in a browser, show up in an iPhoto sync, but not appear on the AppleTV. And, by the posts above it's still going on for the 2nd gen.
MobileMe is a PAID service. Is the team that works on MM asleep most of the working day?
It's so inconsistent. Don't give us the facility to upload from the phone if all the pieces are not in place.
I only have MobileMe for this reason, getting video and pics to the Apple TV quickly for the kids to see immediately. Heaven knows why I continue to pay now that another part doesn't work.

Last night I downloaded the movie "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" onto my ipad. I downloaded it from the little itunes app right on my ipad. Since then everytime i attempt to watch the movie, the little notification box pops up saying "Could not load movie". Before you ask, I have plugged my iPad into the computer and tried to restore it and I have also updated my ipad and done everything. Please help.
Do you have enough space on your iPad for the movie? Check Settings > General > Usage

it could be your DSL connections. HD movie files are usually a 1-3gigbytes.

I downloaded one movie and rented others, when I open iTunes and select the movie it says downloaded, but I have not figured out how to play the movies!

Just downloaded a HD movie to my computer (brand new MacBook Pro, all software up to date) and can't watch it on my Apple TV (brand new last year, all software upto date). Using Airplay mirroring works fine in general but when I press play on the movie I lose the picture and get only a checkerboard pattern and sound. Another MacBook we have gives a black screen with no sound. Apple assistance is completely useless. They suggested that I download the most recent software (all upto date), reload the movie (done and no help) or read the FAQs (no help, although this board suggests that there is a fundamental compatibility issue with mirroring of HD content...!) That's what the ATV is for! The new MacBook uses a different connector and I can't plug it directly into the monitor input on my TV with the connector I had from the old computer. I ordered a new connector for fifty bucks and they stupidly sent it UPS with a signature required for delivery since it is such a high value item so now I have a hassle to receive it. In any case plugging in a wire from across the room isn't a solution. Is there any way to make all of this supposedly integrated hardware and software work or has Apple completely lost their way and turned into a Microsoft clone? Hopefully some of their market mavens will read this and steer the ship back on course. In the meantime any help you may provide would be much appreciated.
The movie is from iTunes. You would think that a download from iTunes to a MacBook could be watched on an HDTV using Apple TV without any headaches bit this does not appear to be the case.

Why will my Apple TV only accept purchases made in Itunes? I am unable to transfer movies and music that I have downloaded in Itunes through my Apple TV to my TV. All movies are in an MP3 Ipad format.I have followed every troubleshooting suggestion with no luck. If my Apple TV will transfer purchased music, I must assume the Home Sharing is activate on both my computer and TV.
Thank you. I meant streaming, not transfer. I have streamed movies through my Apple TV before and watched them on my TV. Now, the only content that will stream is what I purchased in the Itunes store. My Home Sharing is obviously activated or the streaming of purchased items would not work. Both my Itunes and Apple TV are fully updated. Where am I going wrong?

When I attempt to watch any Itunes movies on my Mac Air IOX 10.9.2 all I get is a green screen. I can hear audio but nothing else. Please advise why this happens and how I can sort it out.

My Apple TV suddenly stopped in the middle of a movie and notified me that it had lost contact with Apple Store. I reconnected and it did not recognize I had already paid for a rental. So I tried to rent it again and it again told me it had lost contact. Bottom line, do I get charged? What address is there where I can dispute the charge if I do get charged?

Why it's like that I don't think that Apple have said (these are user-to-user forums). If you haven't downloaded it on your iPad then have you checked to see if you can download it on your computer's iTunes (Store > Check For Available Downloads menu option) or Apple TV ?
If it doesn't show on either of them then you can try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will let you download it on a different computer/device or refund or credit you : http://reportaproblem.apple.com

Unable to watch iTunes movie extras on Apple TV
I buy movies on iTunes but cannot watch the extras I paid for on the Apple TV (last year's model) from which I purchased the movies. Is there a trick to this?

Well, NBA @ Apple TV is available in my region, already checked that 28 times.
They just aren't able to release an update prior to the start of preseason and really fumble around till season start (which is in 2 days!)...poor performance.
