Unable to watch Apple's WWDC Keynote

(I also posted the same query in the Safari forum, but Ive had no response. So I'm trying my luck here!)
When I click on the link to launch the latest keynote, QT launches, a pop-window opens but nothing more happens. I get the 'Q' in the middle of the window and the status line moving sideways from left to right and back.
I have a broadband connection, so I don't think it's an internet issue.
I've made sure that I have the latest flash player (how can I check if this is so?)
With other websites I don't seem to have this problem when trying to view video footage. Or at least with the sites that I view. Further, they open within the website as opposed to launching a separate QT window.
Any suggestions please?

neither this one is working... I don't what went wrong... so far, what I did:
- Reinstall 10.5.6 combo
- rep permission
- update qt (downloaded again from Apple)
- repaired permission again
- ran the maintenance scripts, daily, weekly, monthly
- (opened a bug to apple!)
- reinstalled manually the safari plugin after upgrade to v4
- rerun the rep permission...
- flushed dns (i also changed the dns servers to opendns, same result!)
- erased all the qt prefs and changed the MIMEs settings.

funny part is that NOW I cannot stream nothing thru qt...
very strange, situation changes when I change network location, from a corporate lan (with proxy) it runs ok.
from home, with a mbook unibody with no qt upgraded, it runs ok. from home, same network configuration, same firewall settings (none!), with an mbp (this time upgraded), it really doesn't want to start.
I don't know what they did... IMHO, this is a very BBB... BIG BIG BUG!
Ah, my ISP is Tiscali with a quite good 7M...

My Windows XP computer has the latest version of QuickTime. Wanting to watch the videos on Mac basics/tutorials, however won't play- screen simply says "Get latest QuickTime". Can´t watch them on Safari, Firefox nor Camino. I have removed the Quicktime Plugin.webplugin without success. Any ideas?

I'm not sure what you are asking, but if you want to watch TV stations you can watch on your mac in a web browser on the Apple TV instead, I'm sorry you can't do that.

Watching Apple's Keynotes with QuickTime on Macs

Like many, I have experienced problems watching Apple's keynotes on my Mac. Depending on how I configure the transport, I either get a "Bad address" right away, or "Live Broadcast - paused", or QT switches transports then reports "Bad address", or it just tries to load forever. This seems to have nothing to do with the network, because my Significant Other's Mac is on the same network and plays the keynotes without any problem. The Significant Difference seems to be, my SO rarely installs third-party software -- she even has to be "reminded" to update. On a hunch I uninstalled DivX on my Mac, and now the keynotes play. Uninstalling DivX is not simply a matter of "trashing" the applications. Use the shareware application Pacifist to list the contents of /Library/Receipts/DivX for Mac Installer.pkg and delete all the stuff that DivX installed. To be clean about the whole thing, delete the .pkg thereafter.
If you didn't install DivX and have the problem nevertheless, try to recall which "foreign" plug-ins you did install into QuickTime. That's almost sure to be the problem. Use Pacifist to help you to remove them.

I've also been having this problem - all other Quicktime content plays but not the keynotes.
The only third party Quicktime related things I have installed are Perian, AC3MovieImport.component (not sure where this came from), Flip4Mac and an EyeTV MPEG Support Component.
Could any of these be the problem? The only one with an associated .pkg is Flip4Mac.

If you purchased them, you should be able to download them to your Mac as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519, as well as watch them on your Apple TV. If you rented them on your iPad, you won't be able to transfer the rental to your other devices. To do that you have to rent them in iTunes on your Mac.

Unable to watch Keynote webcast

Each time I try to watch the latest keynote, QuickTime tells me almost instantaneously it is "Disconnected".
This has been true since March 7. On the evening of March 6 I could see the keynote (but I stopped as the network was too busy). I have also watched the MWSF'08 Keynote w/o problems, but I can't watch it anymore. However, my system hasn't changed since then... I don't understand.

WWDC Keynote on AppleTV?

Anyone know if Apple plans to offer today's keynote as a podcast or something so we can watch it on our AppleTV? The stream is fine, but it's be especially cool to watch it on my big TV. It'd be almost as good as being there.
Are there ways to convert the stream without violating copyright?

Remove all apps from multitasking bar. Double click Home button then tap and hold an icon and tap on little x on every app. Then reset. Hold down Home and Power button until Apple logo appears.

After installing Adobe Flash Player latest update unable to watch iplayer due to "plug-in failure"

the Adobe Flash player update instruction showed on screen. I followed the simple install instructions. It stated everything had installed successfully, but when I tried to watch iplayer programme the message: plug-in failure appeared, and I was unable to watch any programmes and unable to even listen to radio programmes. This has never happened before. What should I do please? ;(

ITunes hasn't downloaded an SD version of my 1080p TV show, so I am unable to watch on my MacBook.

I am a UK customer, and last night I purchased Top Gear India Special on my iPad, and I chose to download the 1080p version. I'm just wondering why iTunes hasn't downloaded an SD version as well as the HD version, like it always has done previously? I am unable to watch the India Special on my MacBook as iTunes says "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes."

With the introduction of 1080p videos, there has been a change in the HD/SD downloads. "When you purchase an HD video on a supported device or computer, only HD video will be downloaded. To download the SD version, you need to download the video again from your Purchased page. Conversely, if you purchase an HD video on an unsupported device, the SD version will be downloaded. Then, you will need to download the HD version from your Purchased page."

World Map used in the 2012 WWDC  Keynote?

Hello. I'm trying to find the World Map graphic used by Tim Cook in the 2012 WWDC Keynote. Visible about 5:46 into the keynote video here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkRUE7S8pQI).
Specifically, he animates or uses 'magic move' to highlight certain countries he is talking about. Does anyone know where I can find a world map that would do this in Keynote?

iMovie includes some fairly high resolution world maps.
Go to Applications > iMovie > (Right Click) Show Package Contents > Contents > Resources > Map-*.jpg
Hold Option (alt) as you drag-and-drop the files you want to use, so it will move a copy.

HT1390 Unable to watched rented movie on ATV2

Last night we wanted to watch a movie on our ATV2 so on my Mac I went into iTunes and rented a HD movie. I let the download start and went off to prepare dinner. When I came back to my Mac a hour later there was an error message on the screen saying there was an error connecting to the store so I reinitiated the download. A few minutes later I got a message saying that the movie was ready for viewing, would i like to watch it now or later. I selected later and left it to continue the download.
In the end we did not end up watching the movie last night, but now I want to watch it. On my ATV2 I went into my library. The Rentals option appeared in the menu and, for some reason, the movie I rented is in the list of rentals twice. When I selected either of the movies to watch I got an error saying that the movie is currently being watched on another device and to stop it running on that device before trying again.
The movie was not being watched anywhere else. How do I tell iTunes this? Why won't it let me watch the movie on the ATV2 if I purchased on my Mac?
I tried rebooting both the ATV2 and Mac. I then deleted both copies of rental from iTunes. One of them I had issues deleting from trash, saying it was being used. I then restarted downloading the rental again and again said I would watch later when prompted. Now the Rentals option does not even appear on my ATV2 when I go to my library on my computer.
I could not find anywhere in the support material if it was actually possible to rent a movie from iTunes on Mac and then view on ATV2. Should it be possible? I did find a support note that said that any movie rented from an ATV2 could only be viewed on that device.
Any clues to fix this problem. I tried calling Apple support but they don't work weekends.

Further investigation revealed that I was unable to watch the movie anywhere. I kept getting iTunes Error 42110 when it tried to authenticate.
After searching through iTunes support material I found the solution, which was to remove the 'SC Info' folder from /Users/Shared. After I deleted this folder everything started working again.

I have just formatted by toshiba hardrive to Mac OS extended as recommended so I could upload movies onto it from my mac however I am now unable to watch these movies through my set top box like I could previously. How can I fix this?

Check the box's documentation to find out what drive formats it's capable of reading. Very few, if any, non-Apple devices natively support drives formatted as Mac OS Extended.
