Unable to write a formula in query designer

Hi Experts,
while writing a formula in query designer in development system there is an error.
Formula is:
Grand total =1
when i write in the rows it is throwing the sytax error like " General syntax error in formula"
But the same formula has been written in production( this query is not available in development so that i am designing the same query in the development system).
some one give me an idea.

As i checked with implementation team and they have written the formula it has been assigned like Grand Total = 1.
i.e. Grand Total assign to 1.(But it is not Grand Total == 1).

We have created some formulas in Query Designer.
We tried to assign the technical names to these existing formulas, it goes away as the save button on the top of the pop up is disabled.
Is there a way to assign technical names of the formulas created in the query designer.

Formulas are local, means available for particular queries only. No technical name.
Create Calculated keyfigures instead of formulas..., so you can save with technical names.
To display technical name in query, give discription same as technical name.

Unable to Create Instance of Essbase Query Designer

Update: is it possible that security rights to the Essbase directory would affect the Query Designer? On a machine that it works on, I've noticed that the "xla" file updates each time it is accessed.

Unable to see the variable in Query Designer

Hello Experts,
I am running one report and it is showing me 0calday variable selection screen at run time. I am unable to see this Variable on my Query designer but when I am opening query properties its showing me in this.
Kindly let me know where is this Variable using in my query designer ?

The variable is probably being used to restrict a key figure.
Go to the key figures,
Display the technical names
Check the key figures for which the technical name is not appearing even though the key figure is not a formula.
Here you will see one of the key figure being restricted by a variable for 0calday

Unable to see some Roles in Query designer

Hi all,
I have created a role in PFCG having some queries and assigned that role to my user id.
When i log into Query designer i m unable to see that role and all other roles i am able to see.
What could be the reason for this?
Did i missed to assign any authorizations?

Value input for screen and to apply it to formula in Query Designer

Hi Gurus !
How could i input an value for screen in BEx and soon to apply it to formulas resident in cells in Query Designer, the result must be appear for each cell in the report.

Hi,
if u need to create formula in BEx first u need to create structure. any section column or Row right click on it and create structure, then right click on structure and add formula, in which u can select the chara or kf on which u wanna create formula.

Unable to find my InfoArea in Query Designer

Hi all,
Iu2019ve created an InfoObjectCatalog, InfoArea, DSO and an InfoCube. The data source, transformation,DTPs are all active and the flat file is loaded into the cube. I've the data also in the cube. I want to create a query out this cube that I created. But when I open query designer and look for my info area, I donu2019t find it. I searched for Info Area in Find but it says u2018No objects foundu2019. I can't find any of the objects i.e. either the cube or the Info Area.
My question is why canu2019t find any of the objects that I created inspite of all the objects being active? How do I locate my objects in Query Designer that I created in BI backend?
Please advise.

Hi,
You need to create the Query first to Find the Info Area (relevant to that Query)
You can search the Info Area Manually (if you dont have Query also) provided You need to say New at Query designer Standard Menu.

Unable to Restrict Navigational Attribute in Query Designer

I had a Requirement to restrict on navigational attribute.......
i have checked in every levels such that
1.at info object level ....checked type as navigational
2.at info cube level checked the navigational on.
still iam unable to restrict on navigational attribute................in the context menu its giving the options cut, remove and where used list .........its not giving option to restrict...........
its very urgent ...........please give any suggestions how to restrict on navigational attr

Dont expand the InfoObject and see the Attributes ( They r Dis Attrs )
Just expand the Dimension --- Nav Attrs are available ?
Dont put them in Filter pane..( if available )
Drop them under Rows.
But restrict them under Default values ( By clicking on Filter pane ).

Output a text value from formula in query designer

I need to display different text values in a query. For example, if actual delivery date falls within 5 days of planned delivery date, display 'ON-TIME'; if earlier than 5 days display 'EARLY', if later than 5 days display 'LATE', etc. I've been researching this to death. Does it have to be a customer exit variable or is there a better way to do this?

Yes creating three CKF's was correct and those will output a 1 if your condition satisfies else a zero. Create a new formulae and use a the CKF's that you created and multiply with 2,3,4.
Example : Formulae Description "Early=2" ,"Late =3","Ontime=4"
Then your logic is "ckf12 + ckf23 + ckf3*4" which means only one will be true per line so it will result in either 2 or 3 or 4.You will see

You will have to create a Text Variable with Customer Exit option which will say if output of example Tech name of "Early=2" ,"Late =3","Ontime=4" is "ZEar_Lat_Otime"
When "ZEar_Lat_Otime"
   if     Result= 2 then "Early",
   if     Result =3 then "Late"
else Result =4 then "Ontime"
into   "Text_Variable"
code to be some thing like that.
Result Display:
Delivery Date       Scheduled Date   "Early=2" ,"Late =3","Ontime=4"
12/20/2007            12/24/2007                          Early
12/22/2007            12/21/2007                        Late
Show your client the below result and see if he is OK with the result then you dont have to use Customer Exit.

saying that to display the all Quantities in KGs.. Now articles are in Grams and KGs...
So here i need to perform calculation like... if article is in KGs divide by 1, else if article is in Grams divide by 1000.
where can i write this logic to perform calculation ...

No its not work.. why because i need to convert the unit of measure in Masterdata Attribute values... that means ) ' 0grooss_wt'. this is attribute as a keyfigure of ' 0material' .. this ' 0gross_wt' values has to convert in KGs. at Present ' 0gross_wt' values are in KG and Grams...
I can change these values in update rules by writting Routine.. But I need to convert it in KGS at BEX Query Designer Level..
I need calculate like this
quantity sold * Gross Weight.
here Gross Weight is the formula variable which replacing the values of gross weight...
i tried by creating conversion types in RSUOM t-code. but it works on keyfigures of infocube.. not on attribute values of master data...
is there any solution to solve this Problem...

How to write a condition in BEX Query Designer

How can i write a condition in Query Designer
Scenario
An employee can purchase any no of policies in a day or month.each policy will have start date and expiry date.
My requirment
Count all the policies(valid) by employee on a ranges basis exception reporting
(0-10;10-20;20-30;30-40) and then able to drill down by policy start date and expiry date.
As per the requirment is to show policies which are not yet expired (active) i need to write a condition that will count only policies whose Expiry date is > Current calender day
As Policy Expiry Date is a char i am converting it to KF using fourmala variable so that i can write a condition on it using current cal day formula variable sap exit
But i char assigment of a condition i find 4 option
How can i achieve this

First, you need to create a variable for expiry date with processing type as customer exit, and then give the necessary info.
In details tab, unchk ready for input as we wont be taking the value from the prompt.
Now go to CMOD transaction.
Open the correcsponding project which has the exit code
(How can i identify the project which has exit code)
and go to ZXRSRU001 module inside taht.
Go to the module where u write the exit.
(How to locate the required module)
Then, under i step 1, write the code:
IF I_STEP = 1.
CASE V_NAME (What is 'V_NAME',Is it my variable technical name)
WHEN 'X' " X is the variable u created for the exit
l_s_range-low = SY-DATUM.
l_s_range-opt = 'I'.
l_s_range-sign = 'GT'.
APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
END CASE.
