Unable update Mac to 10.8.5   itune error 103 !!!

Some one guide tired of try to update my mac to 10.8.5 ..... all the time showing unexpected error occurred !!!!!
itune error 103 !!! how can i fix these issue ??

Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Enter the following command in the Terminal window in the same way as before (triple-click, copy, and paste):
{ sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1 or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not  going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
Select
 ▹ Restart
from the menu bar.

  • When I update Mac OSX and it can not rebot

I got alert from mac website to update mac utility for example quicktime, itune,...and OS X combine intel!? (something like this can't remember exactly name) and after finish install and required me to restart or shutdown so I choose shutdown, then I press the power to restart but it pass the apple symbol and going to the blue screen and stop there, I leave it all night but still blue and tried to restart again and the result the same. I have the same problem like this before (can't reboot) I updated software & firmware (SMC. ?!) the only way I can solve this problem is restore Mac OsX.
    Why it can't reboot?
How to fix it without restore Mac OsX?
If I am not ubdate any thing my computer will be ok for long term?
    Please advise.

    Welcome to the forum.
There are a few things to try.
    1. Using Disk Utility and fsck to resolve startup issues or perform disk maintenance
    2. If that doesn't work, you can try installing the Mac OS X 10.4.6 Combo update over the top. It has been known to solve some issues.
    3. If that doesn't work either, and you don't have DiskWarrior to try, you can consider performing an Archive & Install which will preserve your files, applications, etc and give you a fresh installation of OSX.

  • TS1424 itunes error -48?

While updating my Ipod touch to the new 5.02 version (i think, i cant remember preciesely the code for the update), my ipod was detached from the usb chord, and now it doesn't want to update anymore: it keeps getting to "itunes error (-48)"...how can i resolve this without deleting all my backup??

    Hey Michael,
I found the following tip from another user that seems to be a similar error. I'd give the steps they provide a shot and see if that resolves the issue:

Hello, no way you should need iWork to "Agree"!?
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
And if you're really at 10.4.2, then get this and apply it...

No, it does not.  It transfers purchases from the iDevice to the computer.  The computer must be authorized for the Apple ID that the content was acquired with.

Are they selected to sync?  Is Manually Manage content on the device selected?

What does that have to do with syncing content to the device?  FYI, nothing.

In the details it is mentioned that it is an outdated version of Java.
Is this a security risk that i need to live with to get CS5 to run with Yosemite?
Also i need to reject messages from Java in the future about updates, or not?
    thx for any input

  • ITunes won't open after update; MacBook Pro, Mac OSX 10.6.8, iTunes version 11.1.5

iTunes won't open after update - help, please; MacBook Pro, Mac OSX 10.6.8, iTunes version 11.1.5.

i had a problem similar to yours and better yet, i have the fix for it. i downloaded maverick 4 months ago and was without itunes ever since. all itunes icon did was bounce. itunes would never open and whats more, is when i would try to update it, i would get a "thank you for downloading itunes!" page , but the download would never work. so i scoured the net for solves. nothing that worked. <4 months later> then last night i took a new approach. i decided even though maverick would not allow me to uninstall itunes, i would find a way to uninstall itunes. then i would reinstall back to 11.1.5 i was successful and heres what i did.
    step one-
Back up your iTunes Library.itl file, found under ~/Music/iTunes
(even tho i didnt, i only had 3 artists in there at the time. and they didnt get erased but i advise you back up just in case.)
    step two-
download itunes 10.7 from apple. i used this link Download it from Apple here
(i pulled the link from Aarons website (awesometast.com). you download 10.7 however you want but i used the link above and have had no issues).
although im not sure you need to do this step ( you may be able to download 11.1.5 itunes without 10.7, i did because i was following intructions from http://awesometoast.com/downgrading-to-itunes-10-7-from-itunes-11-on-osx/
    step 3-
    open Terminal
    step 4-
enter in these 3 commands hitting return after each line. 1st line nothing seems to happen, 2nd line nothing seems to happen and 3rd line gives you a warning and requires password to continue. when i did it, my password didnt appear as i entered it and i hit return without looking, so i entered it in again, although im not sure i had to the 2nd time.
    killall iTunes
    killall "iTunes Helper"
    sudo rm -rf /Applications/iTunes.app/
    step 5-
drag off and dump the itunes icon (which now has the ? shadow in it) off your dock.
    step 6-
install 10.7 itunes you downloaded earlier. (not sure if this part is neccesary. you may be able to just download 11.1.5 but i downloaded 10.7 because i was following Aarons steps.) itunes now works.
    step 7-
go to apple and update to 11.1.5 itunes. install it. open it and you have itunes 11.1.5 in perfect working order. assuming you have a decent internet speed for the downloads, the whole process takes very little time.
with those steps above, you can solve itunes just bouncing and not launching issues and also the "thank you for downloading" and nothing downloads issue. enjoy. also i would like to give a shout out to http://awesometoast.com and thank Aaron for the knowledge that enabled me to get itunes back into my life.

  • How can I sync a new Iphone 4s with an old 10.4.11 OS mac that can't update to the new version of itunes?

I have a Mac OS 10.4.11 that can't update to the newest version of Itunes. It does not recognize my new Iphone 4s. Is there other any way I can sync my phone? Apple support recommended that I update my Itunes from 9.2 to the new version but it won't install.

You cannot use an iPhone 4S with iTunes 9; you must have iTunes 10.5 or later, and that will indeed not run on Mac OS X 10.4. You'll need to upgrade your computer's OS to at least Mac OS X 10.5.8.
If, as Allan requested, you tell us your specific model of Mac, we can tell you what options you would have as regards compatible OS X versions.
    Regards.

  • HT1926 Have the same problem as many other users: tried to update iTunes on Windows 7 today; first message "unable to locate component- MSVCR80.dll was not found" then "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes - Error 7 (Windows error 1

I have the same problem as many other users: updated iTunes on Windows 7 on Jan 26, 2014 and iTunes does not open.  First message "unable to locate component- MSVCR80.dll was not found" then "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes - Error 7 (Windows error 126)". When will Apple fix this? Don’t feel like uninstalling all Apple software and then re-installing it as suggested, as I am on a terribly slow internet connection while travelling in the DR Congo.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall press on)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • HT4623 the itunes is saying that there is a software update needed to download 10.7 itunes but when i go to update my mac to the latest software, none shows up ? Whats going on?

To update my Itunes to the 10.7 or later, it says I need to update my mac. When i go to update my mac, it says that there is not one available. How do I fix this?

What Mac OS X version do you have? You can go to  > About this Mac and find the version. If you don't have Mac OS X 10.6.8 or later, you'll need to update to that and then your iTunes will update. http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1400 <=== that is the link to purchase the 10.6.8 update

  • After updating my itunes per the update notice I received a run-time error R6034 message. Now I am unable to use iTunes. What can I do to repair this error?

After updating my iTunes per the update notice I received a run-time error R6034. Now I am unable to access iTunes at all.
Can someone tell me how to correct this problem?

Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?
If you still have the same error messages cropping up, then try the procedures from the following user tip:
