Unattractive white outline on fade out after 24 fps convert via Nattress

Hi all,
I converted a DV SD to 24 fps but via Nattress film effects and on certain fade outs there is an unattractive white outline around all the current whites on the frame. I tried 30 fps and got the same results. These fade outs are running at 70% speed. Is that a factor?

Pete. Could you send me a small clip of footage in a timeline, with the 70% slowdown and fade so that I can see exactly how you're creating the edit, and then I'll figure out a solution for you.

T410s internal speakers fade out after a second, headphones work just fine

Hello Community,
My THinkpad T410, Type 2912-45G, Windows 7 (64bit) has a problem with the speakers.
Starting last monday (June 25th) my speakers stop working. When I boot the TP you can hear a static click through the speakers and it plays the windows sound for one second only. After the second you can hear another static click and the speaker stops working. Thats pretty much the way it is with all other audio content, when the TP is booted.
After pressing the Mute-Button or the volume-up or volume-down buttons the speakers will resume working for a second or so (still the static click, right before this second and afterward).
When I plug in my Headpones everything works fine. When I unplug my headphones, speakers do work again for another second.
I allready updated my BIOS, installed and uninstalled the driver, activated the sound-card (CONEXANT 20585 HD AUDIO), tried to update the driver. But nothing worked so far. I allready checked whether the switch in the headphone jack is stuck, but I couldn't find anything.
Did anyone experience the same or a similar problem? As the speakers do work for the mentioned second I assume, that the Hardware should be fine. As the headphones work properly the sound-card should be detected and istalled correctly.
I would really appreciate if someone could help me out on this. Sending the TP in (it is still whitin warranty) is going to be my last option since I need the TP for work.

Sorry to say that but it sounds like hardware issue. Please try BIOS and power management driver as well. If problem remain, please contact local lenovo when your machine is avaliable for inspection.

Audio fades out after switching from silent

I generally have my phone on silent mode at all times. Occasionally while watching a video I'll have to take the phone out of silent mode to get the accompan audio. When I do so, the audio will play for a moment then fade to silent. Pausing and resuming the video resolves the issue but it's extre annoy. I'm sure I'm not the only one that has experienced this and this may have already been asked. Any help that can be provided woild be much appreciated!

My UK friend has the same fading on his voice when I talk to him. This seems to be a known problem but I have not been able to find the answer

Nano fades out after unplugged from computer.

Please.... is there any suggestions for a 2nd generation ipod nano that charges when plugged into the computer and plays music when hooked to a wall socket but turns off when unhooked from either one and wont turn back on. Sounds like the battery is dead. Rechargeable batteries can only be recharged so many times. For example, common laptop batteries can be recharged about 1500 times. I'm not sure how many times an ipod can be recharged. That's one of the problems with building the battery into the device. If it's any consolation, flash memory can only be written to so many times too.
Most ipods are designed to be disposable. If they weren't, they would have replaceable batteries and store songs on memory cards (like digital cameras, for instance). Also, having Apple service them costs almost as much as buying a new one. Clearly, Apple thinks you need to buy a new music player every 2-3 years.

Enhanced microphone class fades out the sound!

I used enhancedMicrophone class in a Voice-Chat application , but the sound fade out after milliseconds for second client.
for example:
just say numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 continuously on your microphone , your voice will fade out after saying number 5.
and voice is not clear at all when speaking .
Has anyone faced to this issue?

I have 5 layers of texts with a white background on the bottom(V1). I want to cross dissolve to black at the same time on all layers. However they all don't disappear at the same time. It seems the top layer fades out last, and so on.

You can condense multiple clips that are stacked above each other into a nest. The nest appears as a single clip in the Timeline. If you need to modify the individual clips inside after you have created the nest, it can be expanded again by double clicking it.

I'm shooting great white screen but when I key out the white background, I have a very thin white outline around my person that I don't know how to soften without loosing some facial opacity. Any suggestions?

I'm shooting white screen and FINALLY have my lighting, white balance, exposure and focus making a great looking, crispy clip! But when I key out the white background in a short segment, I'm left with a very thin, white outline around my person that I don't know how to soften, without loosing facial opacity. I only tried using the 'Edges' tool. Any suggestions?

The laptop's too far away from the router to be connected by ethernet. It's all wifi.
No separate server app on the laptop, it's all samba
The files are on a windows laptop and a hard drive hooked up to the windows laptop. The windows share server is pants, so I'd need some sort of third party server running. Maybe you weren't suggesting to use Samba to connect to the windows share though?
I'm glad that you've all understood my ramblings and taken and interest, thanks The way I see it, I can't be the only netbook user these days looking for this kind of convenience, and I certainly won't be once chrome and moblin hit the market.

Fade Out to White in Final Cut Pro (FCP)

Could someone please show me how to do add a fade-to-white transition in Final Cut Pro (FCP)? (Instead of black, which is default.) I want to be able to do both: 1) fade to white; 2) and white to the picture. An example clip:

Effects > Video Transitions > Dissolve> Dip to Color Dissolve ... add it at the start and end
Double click the transition at the start (the Fade In) to open it in the Viewer and change the Color property to White. For extra credit you can change the Start value to 50%. Then double click the transition at the end (the Fade Out) to open it in the Viewer and again change the Color property to White. For extra credit change the End value to 50%.
Or another way would be to use Effects > Video Generators > Matte > Color Solid to create a "White" clip and then use that to dissolve into and out of your edit using a regular Cross Dissolve transition or by placing the Color Solid on another layer and the keyframing the opacity.

how do we fade out to white

Open the Generators in the Viewer and select Matte>Color.
Change it to white and drag it next to the clip you want to fade out.
Insert a cross-dissolve and stretch it to about 2 seconds ........ or whatever suits you.

IDVD: weird audio after fade out..?!!

Hi, i dont know if anyone else is having this problem or whether im doing something wrong. When i fade out the audio (iTunes song) it suddenly gets louder again b4 it stops. Ive checked all the audio volumes (zoomed in aswell) all fine, and i split the unwanted portion straight after the fade out. It plays fine in iMovie but not in iDVD or on a burned DVD. What am i/or the software doing wrong..!!!
p.s. im quite new to macs so am not a wiz and the movie is quite heavily edited, transitions loads of clips ranging from 2 to 10 second - 25 min long.

An ongoing frustration for me as well. I have made dozens and dozens of DVDs with iLife 06, but this audio problem started without any warning.
For a one-minute "loop" I will export a short video clip, I will un-check the box on the right of the top line to silence the sound track. For good measure, I also adjust the volume of the track all the way down to zero. Fine! Then I paste different music on an audio track below, with fade in and fade out. It plays fine in iMovie, and Quicktime. BUT when I share it in iDVD, every single audio track (including the original, which is switched "off") is heard at the same level, which can be very noisy and very frustrating. None of my fades (in and out) work at all. I even tried importing it from the "media" window, and it did the same stupid thing. I ALSO tried extracting the audio from the original clip so I could delete it on a timeline below. Ha!
Who is trying to torture us? I wanted to stay with iMovie and iDVD as long as I could before spending the money on Final Cut Pro. But the quirks and inconsistencies in the iLife are driving me nertz.

Audio fades out automatically after 15 minutes although not muted

Hi
While listening to iTunes, the music fades out automatically after 12-15 minutes, also system sounds won't play anymore. All settings are set correctly (internal speakers, volume), the iMac is not muted.
After some time switch off or in sleep mode, it plays the sounds again, but after 12-15min, it's quiet again.
Any idea ?

It was bought online through a third party retailer, so its not exactly as convenient as driving to the store. I'd rather exhaust my options before having to send it back.

Fade out-Fade in BUT to White

Is there an effect that will fade between cuts, but go first to a white then to the other cut. Just the opposite from the to black fade out-fade effect already in FCE? Kinda like a white slowish flash. Thanks.
