Unavailable windows 8.1 in store

I have a laptop in domain on Active Directory, I wanted to upgrade Windows 8 pro to Windows 8.1. I've update computer using windows update, but still I cannot see actualization in the Windows Store. On 'clean' laptop with preinstallated Windows 8 I could
easly upgrade it to Windows 8.1.

Have been a tech for 20 years and have spent 15 hours trying to install Windows 8.1.
-This is a new build of a system. 
-This system has been activated.
-This system is running Windows 8 64bit (not PRO).  This is not a KMS or ML or MSDN a retail key.
-All Windows updates are installed.
-Found ms-windows-store:WindowsUpgrade this does not redirect me to the page with Window 8.1 download.
 It does work on systems that already have it downloaded.  Just not on systems that do not.
-Found a website http://winsupersite.com/windows-8/windows-81-tip-download-windows-81-iso-windows-8-product-key -
that says you can start a windows 8 iso download, then stop it. Start the Windows 8.1 and it will resume the 8.1 install and download.  I think it used to work with a window 8 key on windows 8.1 but it now prompts you after the couple hour download for
a Windows 8.1 key.  It is a free update
-have used the slmgr.exe
command to remove the activation key and reapply it.
None of this has worked. The store will not show me the update.
1. What do I need to do exactly to get Windows 8.1 to show up on the Store.
2. As well what do I need to do to manually download 8.1.
3. What log file, and what does one need to search for to see excatly why the 8.1 update is not showing up in the store when the store is launched or when ms-windows-store:WindowsUpgrade is
run.

    this is what you need to do to exclude everything apart from desktop.
    on time machine preferences, click on Options
    click plus sign, on the new window, click macintosh HD
    do a Control + A then deselect users then click okay
    go to options again, plus sign, go to users, control +A then deselect your user account
    go to options again, plus sign, go to your user account, control + A, deselect desktop
    start the back up.

    5) Have gone into Registry and deleted all remnants of previous Outlook installs, HKey_Local, System Current
    config......Office etc.
    6) I have spent hours reading online fixes/technet forums etc..............to no avail.
    Please give more suggestions.

    Hi,
    Basically you have tried a lot but the issue still exists, now one more suggestion I can provide is to make sure Outlook is not configured to run in Compatibility Mode:
    Take Windows 7 for example, in Start -> Type "Outlook" in the search box -> Right click on the "Outlook 2013" shortcut -> Click Properties -> Under Compatibility tab -> Make sure "Run this program in compatibility
    mode for" is clear.

    I did exactly what you described, but it said" the item is temporary unable".My Macbook pro  did not shipped with Lion installed. I upgraded to Lion later.

    Hi .. In order to reinstall Lion, you need to use internet recovery, not re download from the App Store. Startup your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys. From there you should be able to access the built in utilities to reinstall OS X (Lion) using OS X Recovery

    I can't download my purchase of OSX Mountain Lion. I get this message "The item you requested is currently unavailable in the U.S. Store"  I click on the download bar and nothing happens. I'm at my purchases page App Store. I have Mac mini and OSX Lion.

    After a little reading on the subject and talking to Apple support. This is how I solved this problem. With OS X Lion and Mountain Lion, they have LaunchPad on the Dock. The little bar underneath launchpad will start blue as you click on download. Also double click launchpad and it will show the picture of mountain lion downloading. I didn't know about my launchpad, until today. It will take a while because my high speed Internet only goes 1.5 MBPS. and I have 4 GB TO GO.

    Hi Lee,
    'Users' is not a file but a directory on C: drive, if you haven't moved it elsewhere.  Navigate into the path above with file explorer.  The user name will vary, navigate into your user name, also there is a space in 'Apple Computer'.
    So the full path should be:
    'C:\Users/xxx/AppData/Roaming/Apple Computer/iTunes/Cookies'
    note: remove above quotes and replace xxx with YOUR USER NAME

    This happened to me too when I upgraded to Windows 8.1, I think it's a problem with the upgrade, just reinstall iTunes and it should fix it.

  • Windows Vista + N95 + Image Store - "Error communi...

    I am trying to store images from my N95 using the Image Store application. This worked beautifully in XP, but after upgrading to Vista, all I get is a dialog box telling me "Error communicating with the phone".
    This happens for both Bluetooth and USB connection, and it doesn't help that I set the Image Store to XP compatability, or run as admin. I really miss the Image Store functionality, it took the fuss out of storing images from the phone completely.
    How can I fix this?

    There is another cause and cure I think cause I just "fixed" my problem of this kind over many hours of agonising and trying the suggestions above.   Another internet site tells you :
    "This usually happens for the simple reason that Gallery on the S60 device is running and currently holding open one of the files you're trying to backup (and delete). Switch to Gallery on the smartphone, back out of the image or video clip and use 'Exit'. Now try the 'Store images' function again - it should work fine!"
    Unfortunately I couldn't obviously see a photo open in the Gallery. I was trying to store 103 images and I noticed it was stopping at one. I had a look at that one, it was not that important so I deleted it and try again. And it worked! It was as if it was evil, and blocking the software at that point. So it backed up about 70 images and jammed again. Found another image which I remember taking with the camera about a week ago and deleted that one, again not too important. Tried again and it went all the way backing up to a photo I took yesterday.
    So that's it, something is left half open when the photo is saved and it screws up image store when it reaches it. Actually, I think that last image which I took I screwed up by closing the camera cover before it had finished doing its thing. I think now the moral of the story is that the digital camera in my N82 and it's softwared needs some TLC, it is not that robust, you need to give it a few seconds to do it's thing or it half saves these corrupted images. I could view the stuffed up image perfectly on the camera and Im sure there would be a better technical way of properly closing it in symbian rather than deleting it but yay it is solved!!

    I recently updated my iTunes software to 11.0.2.26 in my Windows 8 Pro 32bit OS. Since then I was puzzled why I am not able to view/access my iTunes store in iTunes as app store is complete blank. Where as I was able to do all other things like syncing my iPhone4s with music & organise it through iTunes.
    But I am facing issue only with iTunes store which is a very critical bug to be considered by iTunes support as customer couldn't be able to purchase new apps through iTunes store.
    Note: I event can't be able to update the already installed apps through iTunes where as its showing more 32updates available all time but the update button is teasing me with out any action.
    Will be looking forward to fix this issue or release next ver. of iTunes ASAP.

    Thank god finally my iTunes store is visible now & came back to normal form after uninstalling the "speedbit video downloader" software from my winows 8 PC.  My puzzle solved finaly but still I want to raise my concern to iTunes developers "Why I need to uninstall third party apps to make my iTunes work properly?"  If this is the case all the iTunes users need to restrict themselves and need to spare a lots of their time to investigate before installing other Windows apps.
    @Caffineohoic: I can understand ur frustraion dude as I too gone through it till now. My crappy update might not solve ur problem but it worked for me as I followed the steps properly. Wish u good luck.

    Reboot the ATV and try it again. If it still won't play correctly, find the file in your iTunes store purchase history, click on the "Report a Problem" link, and report it to iTunes store support.

  • Download windows 8.1 through store and install later

    I have a laptop that came pre-installed with Windows 8 and I'm going to upgrade to 8.1 through the store in the next couple weeks.  The information I have found say that you can pause the download and resume it again later, but What I am trying to find
    out is:  Can I go to the store and download it now and then run the upgrade later when I am offline?
    I don't always have internet connectivity all the time.  (I don't know how long 3+ gigs take to download, but I am supposed to then sit there while it downloads and and then not disturb the thing while it runs through the upgrade?)  Sounds
    like an all day gig.  
    I'd like to download it now and then hold off on the actual install until later.  Is this possible? Do you need to have internet connection to do the upgrade if you can?  Can you upgrade it later like this, then maybe check for updates next time
    you have an internet connection?

    if you have fast internet connection at home and for your own peaceful mind and soul I would suggest you to do it during weekend and maybe bring your gf or your band and practice at home
    And please make sure all your driver for Windows 8.1 upgrade provided by your laptop manufactured, you can check at your laptop manufactured site 

  • Lync for Windows 8 (from the store, for RT or Pro) won't login - just 'spins' while loggining into Office 365, requires reinstall to fix

    The Lync app (the one you get from the Microsoft Store in Windows 8) just stalls (the wait 'circle' just endlessly circles) while trying to sign in with my Office 365 account.  It doesn't time out or provide an error message.  This
    happens on both my Surface RT and Surface Pro.  It happened on both devices when I had Windows 8, and continues to happen after upgrading both devices to Windows 8.1.  I'd like to point out that on the Surface Pro, I also have Lync 2013 installed
    as part of Office 2013 Professional Plus, and Lync 2013 never has a problem signing in.  I can sign in successfully with Lync 2013, then immediately try to sign in with the Lync app and experience the stalling login on the Lync app.
    Following the app's troubleshooting tips (linked from the login page), I've tried removing my log in credentials, closing the app and restarting it, and even restarting the Surface.  None of these work.  The only thing that works is to uninstall
    the Lync app, then re-install, launch, configure, and login to it.  However the Lync app will only continue to work for 1-2 days and eventually the stalled login issue returns.
    This has been going on since I first started using Lync in September 2013.  I've had to re-install it several times on the Surface RT.
    I can't find anything in event viewer to help with this.  I've read about ensuring that the time is properly sync'd and can confirm the time is set properly.  Again Lync 2013 works on the Pro even when the Lync app won't.
    I tried to do a clean reboot following these steps at KB 929135.  However there aren't any non-Microsoft services for me to disable, and there are no start up items to disable.
    As I mentioned I updated my Surface devices to 8.1, but I even went to the trouble of completely refreshing them (complete re-install).  They are on the latest firmware, OS, and patch level.
    Given that Lync 2013 works fine on the Surface Pro, I suspect the problem is with the Lync app itself, not with the device, Windows, or the Lync service.

    Here is the order of preference for Lync 2013 client:

    For Lync 2013 Windows Store App, it only queries lyncdiscoverinternal and lyncdiscover and does not advance further. If the issue happen on all RT client, please double check your lyncdiscover records.
