Unbalanced hierarchy deployment to Planning

.Hi all
I’ve got the following problem with deployment of unbalanced hierarchy from EPMA to Planning application (deployment processes with no errors ):
In EPMA Dim library I have the following
DIM1 (gen1)
....MBR1(gen2)
....MBR2(gen2)
........MBR3(gen3)
........MBR4(gen3)
....MBR5(gen2)
After deployment to planning I see only
DIM1 (gen1)
....MBR1(gen2)
....MBR5(gen2)
Dimension is generic, all members and it itself has correct properties “valid for plan type”
Best regards

Hi valley,
Have you checked your planning log files after a deployment. It will sometimes show you errors that EPMA doesn't recognize as errors such as duplicate member aliases.

  • Unbalanced Hierarchy

    Hi,
I've a problem with an unbalanced hierarchy:
Level 1 : all values are available
Level 2 : null values possible
Level 3 : all values available
I've created an extra logical column to fill up the null values of level2.
When I create a report with the object from level 1 and try to drill down, I receive an error when the second level is null (but I've used the extra logical column for drill down)
When I create a report with objects from level 1 and level 2 the report is showed correctly and I'm able to further drill down to level 3 (even from values where the null is replaced)
So I was wondering why it doesn't work to drill down from the highest level?
    Txs for your help.
    KR,
    A

A logical column is handeld after drilldown. Try puhsing your logic to the physical layer.

  • EPMA hierarchy management to Planning

I have created hierarchies in EPMA. When they are deployed to Planning, none of the UDAs are included in the Planning application or the Essbase database. I have added the UDA dimension to the Planning application and added the UDAs to the correct members in the Accounts dimension. Anybody have any idea where to look to figure out why the UDAs are not getting pushed to Planning?

I know it has been a couple months but I have reproduced this issue. Did you get anything from Oracle Support?
I am running EPM 11.1.1.2 with patch 01 released July 15. I am using the EPMA ads file generation utility. All of my dimensions are shared with the exception of two Smart Lists. I added UDAs to my Accounts dimension, added the dimension association, imported the changes and deployed to Planning. The UDA shows up as available in the dimension library but is not assigned to any member and shows up nowhere in Planning or Essbase.
<Side Note> Does anyone else miss the old days when we simply assigned UDAs directly in Essbase? </Side Note>
    Thanks.

  • OCSP Location Error - Single Tier PKI Hierarchy Deployment

I am building a Single Tier PKI Hierarchy Deployment following the Step by Step Guide - Single Tier PKI Hierarchy Deployment guide. Everything is showing up "OK" except OCSP Location.<o:p></o:p>
I tried adding AIA location as:<o:p></o:p>
    HTTP://<SERVER_NAME>/ocsp<o:p></o:p>
    HTTP:// pki. domain/ ocsp
All combinations still show error. The root CA is greet, there is an error on Enterprise PKI.
On the OCSP Server Provider settings I have HTTP:// pki. domain/ ocsp and LDAP.
CA Server has the CA Role, Web server has ADCS Online Responder and Web Enrollment. 2008 R2 domain, all servers are 2008R2 Enterprise, patched.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have search quite a but and have not found anything that worked.

    Hi,
I suggest you check OCSP Responder Management console to see if it reports OK status.
If not, you may try to revoke the current CA exchange certificate used by the OCSP responder, delete the existing OCSP connection and re-configure it.

    Hi,
If you are going to be using EPMA the first thing to do is to make sure you have installed all the patches for EPMA and Planning.
They are available from [metalink3|https://metalink3.oracle.com/od/faces/index.jspx] , planning is at patch 9.3.1.1.10 and EPMA has around 5 patches.

  • Can I prevent a user from Deleting the Group Policy deployed power plan?

I have Power Manager version 3.20 installed and am using the Group Policy template to deploy a customized power plan.  I do not want my users to have the ability to delete this custom plan, but I cannot find the option in the Group Policy to change the setting that would grey-out the Delete button in Power Manager.
I have located the registry value that changes the function of Power Manager, it is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Lenovo\PWRMGRV\PowerSchemes\42617646-BC99-48E2-B3AF-C562C25F4098\ProhibitModification.  If the value is 0, then the delete button is available.  If the value is 5, then the delete button is greyed-out.
The problems is that the Power Plan ID number (the 42617646-BC99... part in the reg key above) changes from computer to computer.  That ID string seems to be tied somehow to the specific computer.  So, I cannot just create a Group Policy Preference to change that value in the registry, because that value is always going to have a different name.
The computers are all ThinkPad T400 model and are running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit.
Can anyone suggest a different method to change this setting?  If not, is there any chance that the Power Manager application can be upgraded to include this control?
    Thank you!

    welcome to the forum!
to add to what gan said, page 6 of the power manager deployment guide covers this policy over active directory.

    Hi,
From another post which I think relates to same sort of issue the solution was :-
On your server > Change your "Standards and formats" into English(United States) in "Regional and Language Options".
This was due to the currency format being in chinese.

  • ASO - Unbalanced Hierarchy

"Hierarchy [hierarchy name] is unbalanced. Balancing it may improve performance"
I received this error message in the log file. Odd in that I have never seen performance related error messages before. Perhaps an ASO thing. The particular hierarchy that it mentioned is a ragged hierarchy, fewer than 30 members in it.
There are other dimensions in the ASO database that are unbalanced as well, it didn't mention them. Some of them larger, much larger.
Try to figure out the real effect of this or just other insight.

  • How to undeploy business rules deployed in Planning

I am unable to undeploy test business rules deployed on Production. Deleting from calculation manager leaves BR in planning.. is there in any other option??

    Try this http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/cmgr_admin/ch07s03s01.html
"To remove a business rule or ruleset from an application after you deploy the business rule or ruleset, make it ineligible for deployment by clearing the check box next to its name in the Deployment View. Then you can perform a full deployment of the application by right-clicking it and selecting Deploy."
As you've already deleted rule from Calc manager try to create empty rules with the same name (if first full deployment wouldn't help)

  • Unable to deploy Sample Planning application

    Hi All,
I am trying to deploy the sample Planning Application 11.1.1.3 by the help of OBE. When I click on Finish, I am getting an error as below:
"An error occurred while processing this page. Check the log for details"
I checked that all my services are up and in fact I am not able to understand where to trace the error information. I checked in logs folder, but was not helpful. Please advice how to resolve this issue.

    Hi John,
As suggested checked the HyS9Planning-sysout.log and noticed that it have some privileges issue. Now I granted the user "budplan" with Resource and Connect privileges other than DBA and restarted the Planning Services and it worked fine and I was abe to create the Planning Application. The error I got previously is as below:
Connection to the datasource created successfully.
createSchema hyperion.jdbc.base.BaseBatchUpdateException: [Hyperion][Oracle JDBC Driver][Oracle]ORA-01950: no privileges on tablespace 'PLANNINGAPPLICATIONS'
hyperion.jdbc.base.BaseBatchUpdateException: [Hyperion][Oracle JDBC Driver][Oracle]ORA-01950: no privileges on tablespace 'PLANNINGAPPLICATIONS'
    Thanks John for your support.

  • Planning application deployment error

    Hi,
I am using EPM 11.1.1 version for deploying the planning application. I created Hypplan application in the EPM. when I deployed the application and tried to see the outline in the essbase. unfortunately outine has not been built properly in Essbase. For example:
Time dimension member has not been created properly. Ideally time dimension should contain Qtr1 Qtr2 and Qtr3 members. However only Qtr1 and Qtr2 member has been created in the Essbase outline.
However, EPM shared Dimension library contains all the Qtr member(Qtr1,Qtr2 and Qtr3) in the Time dimension. I am not sure why this was not reflected in the Essbase outline.
    Any help is appriciated!
    thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Jamshed

As a general rule, I would recommend that you only share the dimensions that you MUST share. These would include volatile hierarchies (ones that change frequently) that are shared across multiple apps. For a hierarchy like Period (one that never changes), what's the point in sharing it? Because it never changes, you don't really realize any maintenance benefits from sharing it.
The ability to share hierarchies makes a nice sales pitch, but in reality, it can become a pain. In my experience, hierarchies eventually start to diverge across apps for business reasons.
I'm sure there are simple apps where sharing is useful, but I haven't seen many.

I see this article on KB after reading DattaRay's commend. It suggests that Essbase Studio should be installed for Essbase applications to be deployed.
