Unbelievable! iweb stopped showing my sites in navigation bar

I go to open iweb this morning and the sites I have been working on no longer popped up. I do have a file on my desktop with them (published to folder) but the software does not show these sites. anymore! It's asking me to create a "new" site. What happened?
1. How do I get iweb to "see" these files again (i know it doesnt import)
2. How do I get it to open in the way it was before with all of the sites in the navigation bar?
3. How will I be able to make edits on my published site if iweb doesnt keep these in the navigation bar?

Do a search on the HD for "domain.site" to see if you have another file somewhere on the HD that may be the one you used previously. I assume you don't have a backup strategy, right? If I'm worng and you do can you get a earlier copy of it to see if it has your more current site?
There's no other way to recreate you site but to start from scratch. You can, however, use some of the files in the published site, photos, graphics, etc. But that's about it.

Just installed upgrade to Firefox 4.0. Where did the "Stop" button go on the Navigation Bar. I checked the Customize dialogue box and it isn't included. Is anyone else missing it? It was a very helpful button and allowed us users to stop a web page and move on if it wasn't what we needed.

In Firefox 4 by default the Stop, Go and Reload buttons are combined and attached to the right hand edge of the location bar.
When you are typing in the location bar it will show the Go button. When a site is loading it shows the Stop button. At other times it shows the Reload button.
If you want separate buttons, right-click on a toolbar and choose Customize, you can then drag and drop the stop or reload buttons and place them elsewhere. If you place them in the order "Reload-Stop" on the right hand edge of the location bar they will be combined again. Any way to make a page NOT show up in the navigation bar?

I want to create a bunch of picture pages and link them elsewhere on my site, but I don't want them to show up in the navigation bar. It seems to me, that any page you create under your site automatically ends up in the nav bar. Is this true? How can I do this? Yes, I know I can modify the code.

On the page(s) in question, open the Inspector, go to the second tab ("Page"). Below the "Page Name" field there is a check box labeled "Include page in navigation menu", which is checked by default. Uncheck this, and the page on which you are working will no longer show up in the nav bar.

I have an urgent issue with www.ForexProFund.com and it's navigation bar links. For some reason only some of the links work in the navigation bar. I have tried and recreated new pages and moved all the content over to the new pages with no luck. I moved the nav bar to the most "forward" position and pushed everything else to the back so it's on the top for sure. You can see that on the "contact" page, the navigation bar does not work, and I have no idea why...it's the same on the "Open Account" page.
I really need this fixed, as I am sure many of you do.

Can you tell me how to "reduce" these things? I am not sure why some links in the nav bar and others do not...maybe I am doing something wrong? Very frustrating since Mac. does not let you simply setup a nav bar....it all has to be template based and then these types of things happen. Either way, if you have details of how to remedy this, please let me know. I tried to remove the line under the nav bar on the first two pages and still no luck.

How do I customize the font in the tooltip hoverbox that shows when over the navigation bar buttons (back, forward,..home, url/site button, google "G" button ?

I'm doing userchromecss customization of firefox 3.0.19 on slackware linux 12.2 and none of the css lines I've tried would ever change (in size and style) the font inside the hover box. I've tried same css lines on thunderbird and seamonkey and they work, but not on firefox. Here are the css lines I've tride:

The code works for me on Linux for the toolbar buttons and for long lines on chrome pages like about:config<br />
If it isn't working for you on the toolbars then your Linux distribution may be disabling it somehow.

Keynotes slideshow to put in iweb navigation bar,

is it possible to have a silideshow in the "Banner" navigation bar?????
i can put a picture there but would much rather like a slideshow there,
already have slideshows build in keynotes & would like to "move" them to iweb as a slideshow in the navigation bar,

No navigation bar when publish to FTP

Hi there, when I publish my website via FTP, the navigation bar disappears so I am only able to view and navigate to the root URL or home page. Check out what I mean at: jaimejacobsenmedia.com (Under "Jaime Jacobsen Media", it should say "HOME ABOUT FILMS RADIO PHOTOS CONTACT)
Any ideas on how to fix this so all pages are published and show up in the navigation bar up top?

Normally, when this happens, it means that not all your files have been uploaded to your server.
You actually need to be able to see what has been uploaded to your server and what has not and you can't do this if you use iWeb ftp. From iWeb, publish your site to a local folder and download a copy of Cyberduck for free and if you connect to your server using this, then you can see exactly what files are on your server and what are not.
Also check that your image is not covering your navigation menu, which it can easily do and it is close. It only takes a tiny little overlap of the boxes on the page and either your navigation menu will not show up or will not work.
Check both of these. If it is your graphic that is covering then you will have to move it.

Navigation bar not rendering correctly in Windows IE

This is my first project using iWeb, and I've had some Win users email me a screenshot of the site's navigation bar rendering incorrectly. As the site is loaded, the bars appear blue in background, and according to them, sometimes it turns black, sometimes not. Please check it out and let me know if you have a solution?

PS - it seems to be rendering fine in safari and firefox (mac). Also, I did search the forums and didn't find a similar issue in several pages of results.

The navigation menu is completely composed of PNG graphics... therefore, sometimes IE has difficulty rendering these properly. Most of the time, the problem is self-limited...iWeb's .js file goes over after everything has loaded and re-renders the PNGs to make them viewable specifically in IE. But sometimes the problem is persistent...and you might see grey boxes behind the menu items probably as your viewers are describing.
I have seen both behaviors with my site.

Non-working links on duplicate navigation bar

The row of links on my web site's navigation bar is the same on every page, just cut-and-pasted. Any reason why none of them are working on the "Samples" page? I'm assuming it has something to do with the bandcamp music players embedded on that page. Check it out:

You have some shape overlapping the navbar on the Samples page. If you go to that page and type Command+A (Select All) you'll see the outline of the item. If you do that on the other pages it won't show.
Either remove the item or bring all of the links forward to the top.

In FF4.0 the NoScript icon shows up on the Navigation Bar but not on the Add-Ons Bar. I don't want the Navigation Bar. How can I get it onto the Add-Ons Bar?

Even though I downloaded the newest version of Firefox and have my email address in the preferences, I still am showing my daughter's navigation bar and bookmarks. I can't access my own

I do not use a Mac. But when you install a new version of Firefox it will try to use existing settings etc from what is known as the profile. The profile includes your bookmarks.

If you share a computer with someone normally each user has their own profile, and there may be permissions preventing users accessing one-anothers accounts. Firefox will normally setup a profile in each account. You will need to search for and find your old profile.

IWeb 08, Publish Videos, Navigation Bar link stops working. Why?

In iWeb, I am building a site with that includes two movie pages, each has a video (QT H.264, 640x280, medium quality). One movie per page. When I publish to a folder, I test both with Safari and Firefox. Each displays the same problem. When I click on the navigation bar link and go to the first video, the navigation bar ceases to work after I'm on the movie page. I can play the video, but I have to browser back because the navigation bar doesn't highlight, rollover, or anything. Both browsers exhibit this. Thanks.

Make sure you don't have any other objects overlapping the navbar.

On certain web sites the page opens then over runs to a blank screen with the same address and stopped showing on the status line

When trying to access certain web pages the browser finds and loads the page then 'over rides' to a blank screen. The page address doesn't seem to change but the tab shows continued 'loading' The status bar at the bottom shows either 'stopped' or 'done'. return re-loads the page then over runs again. Reload does nothing. Usually its a hyperlink from one page to another. It seems random.
Recently it has started to over run into a 'search' type page ie. local yellow pages, local cable company, heavy equipment sales, and things like that.

It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. Iweb navigation bar not working in Internet explorer 8

I published my site to the sites folder on my imac OSX 10.6.4
Built my own navigation bar and the links work fine in Safari & Firefox
The only portion of the Nav bar that works in Explorer 8 is the Map Navigation which links to an external page (map quest)
All The links work in Explorer 7 (but none of the images show up)
Anyone have a solution

External links tend to be more robust than internal. Having said that there is no good reason why this should happen in IE V8. I've certainly never had this problem.
If they definitely don't work for you then try recreating your navigation using the URL for each page.
