Unblock SAP* on Sybase

Good morning experts...
We are using a SAP IDES Demo System on Windows, EHP6 FOR SAP ERP 6.0, Sybase Release 15.7.0.042 and we are not able to log in on client 000. It says it is locked by incorrect logon. Can somebody help me with a step by step guide to unblock the SAP* user from sybase? Or what can be our next step?? We need to create a new client copy of 000. I will really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

  • How to db connect from SAP to SYBASE SQL anywhere 16 remotely

    Hi All,
May i know can i connect to SYBASE SQL Anywhere16 from SAP running on kernel 7.42 via dbacockpit (dbco)?
I've followed note 1737415 - Sybase IQ: Enable remote/secondary connect to SAP Sybase IQ &  1532253 - SYB: Remote DB Monitoring for SAP Sybase ASE
    but failed.
Where can i find the dbsl and its client for sybase sql anywhere? I only can find SAP ASE and SAP IQ on SMP. Is those compatible with SQL anywhere 16?
    Thanks.
    Nicholas

    Hi Jason,
the error message is it complains minimun version for SAP IQ is 15.6, however our SQL anywhere is on version 16, above the support version as per note1737415 - Sybase IQ: Enable remote/secondary connect to SAP Sybase IQ
fyi, i'm using the latest sybase dbsl and SAPIQ 16 client.
Any idea or will it works to remotely connect SQL anywhere via dbacockpit?
    Thanks,
    Nicholas.

  • Download Sybase ASE 15.7 for  BS: SAP or Sybase ASE?

    Hi!
I planning to install (system copy) an NW70EHP2 system with Sybase. There are two types of Sybase ASE installation materials:
What type of recommended for the installation? The SAP ASE or the Sybase ASE?
    Thank you!
    Regards
    Janos

    Hi Janos,
"Sybase ASE" was renamed to "SAP ASE" so don't let the names bother you. What you install will be somewhat driven by what you are running today and what you want from the new version. If you don't have any current install, then you should use SP110, even though it is older than SP61.
If you have a current install that is SPxx (2-digit number), you can move to SP61 and get bug fixes and a few little features. You can also move to SP1xx (3-digit number) and you get more new features that are not included in SPxx. If you have SP1xx, do not move down to SPxx.
After you click on "Sybase", click "Database Patches" (not "Database"), then "Sybase ASE 15.7 for Bus Suite", then "Windows on x64 64bit". Here you will see SP103, SP110, and SP61.

Solved this on my own, we need to create RFC Function module and Update/Modify data query in that when we need to update data in SAP tables.
Connection is depends on RFC Function Module.
Sample inbuilt RFC's in SAP :
    1. MAM30_011_GETLIST
    2. MAM30_011_GETDETAIL
    3. MAM30_011_CHANGE
Connection Property we need to maintain in SAP connection in Sybase.
Also We need Client Details, Server Machine Name, Connection IP and User Name and Password of User by Which we can test Connection.
    Thanks

  • Oracle to SAP Sybase ASE Migration

    Hi
We are planing to migrate Solution Manger 7.1.
    Source : OS- HP-UX , DB - Oracle 11g
    Target : OS - SUSE Linux , DB - SYBASE ASE 15.7
Can we migrate using normal system copy method ( heterogeneous) using SPM toool or is there any specific procedure/ steps need to follow ?
    Thanks
    Shashi

    Hi Shashi,
You need to use SWPM tool and Heterogenous system copy to perform this migration.
You may need to read some notes related to Sybase as mentioned below
1734039 - SYB: Migration to Sybase ASE using unsorted unload/load
1680803 - SYB: Migration to SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise - Best Practice

  • SAP - Sybase Integration

I am begining into explore this technology.
I believe Sybase accesses the RFCs in SAP using the standard connectors in Sybase. Can anyone confirm if there is any tool on the Sybase platform to monitor the transmissions between the platforms or will one need to use an Integration platform between SAP and Sybased to enable this functionality.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
Sybase provide different templates for backend connections like database connections, Webservice connections and similarly SAP connection is also there. From your post what I understood was that you want to know the amount data that is being exchanged between SAP and Sybase. This is possible in Sybase; they provide a single console in which we can manage everything and this is called Sybase Control Center.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Rahul Muraleedharan.

  • Windows/Sybase versus IBM i SAP install

Looks like the upper echelons are considering a platform change from our beloved IBM i to a windows/Sybase platform Since SAP bought the Sybase DB product they think this is the way to go.
I am making up a list of good/bad things about either choice. I know that SAP implementations are faster and easier on IBM I and you dont need dedicate DB staff etc. Just wondered if the group had some opinions on this choice.
    Thanks
    Matthew Milne

    Hi Matt,
The better question is "why did SAP purchase Sybase, after avoiding supporting that DB for nearly 20 years?"    The answer is because SAP was far more interested in Sybase's mobile applications, not because they were particularly interested in the database.  If it was a useful interesting DB, they would have supported it long ago.  Once SAP owned it with what they really wanted, they were obligated to try to make it work.
To correct some prior statements, I would add the following:
    - When getting data from SAP systems for mobile apps, communication should usually occur through the SAP application server APIs.  This should be standard regardless of the DB.  If you are going around SAP to the DB layer directly, you might get it to work, but you are exposed to any DB structural changes SAP may decide to make.  Best practices would include the apis so SAP ensures compatibility going forward.
    - IBM i is NOT dependent on 3rd party for HA/DR.  3rd party apps exist and may be used, but IBM's PowerHA is clearly the preferred option because of the high level of integration with IBM i and DB2 for i.
    - Yes, IBM i is more like a mainframe than it is like windows... in that it is very stable and reliable - I take that as a complement to IBM i, and a recognition that Windows is not as durable.
    - In general, the same value proposition reasoning holds for i vs Sybase as against the others.    You need to look at the bigger picture. http://ibm.co/14PM22I
The cost of JUST a DB app is never going to be comparable to something which includes a DB and OS and much more like IBM i.  Add up all the other pieces, over time, as in the study, and then compare.

  • Sybase Unwired Platform - Error in creating a Blackberry Application

    Hi Experts,
I am working in the development of Blackberry application using Sybase Unwired Platform and SAP as the backend data source. As a part of this I had created a Remote enabled function module in SAP which returns an internal table as the output. In the Sybase Unwired Workspace I  had created an MBO with this function module and created the User Interface using Device Application Designer. When I test this application in the simulator BlackBerry Storm2 9550, It is showing an error which says
Encountered error while synchronizing package <package_name> and synchronization group "default", see logs for details : com.Sybase.persistence.SynchronizeException: com.Sybase.persistence.ProtocolException: deivce's protocol version is incompatible with the server's protocol version. (1>0)
I am using Sybase Unwired Platform 1.5.5 for this development and BlackBerry Storm2 9550 as simulator.
Can anybody help me to solve this issue?
    Thanks and regards,
    Rinzy Deena Mathews.

    Hi pradeep,
Application is connected with SUP because i tried a simple application using sampleDB.
But when i used to connect SAP to Application, that error generated.
I created SAP Connection successfully but its still show that "Could not initialize class com.sap.mw.jco.JCO in Sybase Control Center's Domain's log page.
I am not able to understand why that error generate because i connected successfully with SAP in Sybase Workspace.
I think that is the problem of 64 & 32 bit files problem.
    I used windows 7 64 bit.
    Please reply me.

  • ODBC Issues with SAP Predictive Analytics 2.0 - Automated Analysis

    Dear all,
maybe this adds only an aspect to the Infinite Insight OCBC Connection difficulties discussed in
    http://scn.sap.com/message/15766247#15766247
but after trying and searching the web for more than a day any help would be appreciated.
    This is the situation:
I'm using SAP PA 2.0 Desktop version and would like to upload a flatfile (*csv) to the Data Manager of Automated Analysis. Unfortunately, none of the solutions found by now worked.
It is a SAP PA 2.0 64bit version installed on a Windows 7.0 64 bit P. The installed MS Office version is 32bit as all available drivers. Deinstalling MS Office and reinstalling a 64bit version is not an option. It is not possible to install SAP PA 2.0 32bit version either - the Installation process stops due to the wrong operations system.
The DSN configuration suggested in the SCN discussion mentioned above didn't work, although displayed as data source in the Data Manager data base/file selection Screen. The error message returned is a Microsoft ODBC error [IM014] indicating that for the DSN used, there is an architecture mismatch between driver and application,
The attachments shows screenshots of the error message and the situation in the ODBC adminitrator consoles both for 32bit and for 64bit (in system32 and SysWOW64 shares).
Is there a solution to this problem?
    Kind regards
    Elisabeth

    Hi Elisabeth,
If I understand correcty, you would like to upload your csv file to a database.
What kind of database is it ?
The Automated part of Predictive Analytics supports the following databases:
    SAP HANA
    Sybase IQ
    Oracle
    Hive
    Teradata
    Microsoft SQL Server
    MySQL 5
    Netezza
    IBM DB2
    PostgreSQL
    Vertica
    Greenplum
Your screensot shows ODBC connections to Excel and Text files. It is is not real databases, it cannot execute SQL code.
For more information on configuring a database connection on your machine, you can refer to this document : https://websmp204.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/012002523100001708812015E/pa20_conndb_win_conf_en.pdf
Note that you need a database driver installed on your machine and access to a database (either installed on your machine or on a remote server).
In general, all documentation related to PA2.0 can be found here : SAP Predictive Analytics 2.0 – SAP Help Portal Page.
    Hope this helps.
    Kind regards,

    Please help?

    Hi,
if u re using B1 2007 or 2005 , it doen't support Sybase. Have a look at this sheet :
    https://websmp105.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000310652008E.pdf
This is a the system requirements description. Btw, of course SAP will run on a Sybase,

  • How to start learning for SAP for Mobile for Non SAP user

    Hi All,
I am sorry If I am asking a repeated question. I am a IT professional with couple of years experience in mainframes, core java, html, CSS, SQL etc. I am looking for a U-turn in my career and want to take a 6 month study break from my job. After some discussion from friends and searching on internet, I have came across Sybase unwired plaleform and SAP mobility. I want to learn this. But I am not able to find a clear learning path for this. I am expecting that in this forum any able person can help me by letting me know how to procced. what to learn first, what to learn second and which certification I need to go thru, which part(developerr, administrator, architecch etc)will be suitable for me.

    SAP Mobility is hot now.
If you need a career change you can definitely become a SAP Mobility Consultant.
You need to talk to any of the SAP mobility consultant to get some idea on how the apps are developed or attend training provided by SAP.
Sybase Unwired Platform is the key in SAP mobility (Where business logic will be written). To become an SUP developer there is no need of any particular programming language.
My suggestion to you is learn SUP development and Android development (Since you know JAVA).
    All the best.

  • Front End for BW 3.5 and Java based application

We are trying to connect two systems; SAP based (through BW) and Non-SAP based (Sybase, Java based) applications. We are exploring BI Java SDK with UDDI or XI services to bring Non-SAP data to NetWeaver. We don't want to store all data from sybase to BW. We could use Front end of BW or any other GUI from SAP Portal. I have heard options like UI, GUI machine, net weaver developer studio, visual composer. Ideally, we would like to combine non-sap and sap data in Business explorer/BW web browser but any other front end suggestion within Net weaver frame work will help us keep our cost down. Please advise.
    Thanks.
    Vinay Karna

We're in the middle of upgrading from 3.1 SP 22 BW w/6.20 SAPGUI. We've only upgraded a sandbox BW server at this point, but we have upgraded all BW team members with SAPGUI 6.40 FEP 5 and can successfully connect to our 3.5 and 3.1 BWs.

  • Multiple IQ databases on one host ---- NLS for BW-HANA

    Hi,
We are planning to build a Sybase IQ NLS landscape to support BW on HANA landscapes.
We have thought of installing DEV/QA NLS (IQ) on one server and accordingly have created the file systems on the Linux host. My question is whether we have to install sybase IQ 16 SP8 PL27 twice on the server to have two seperate $SYBASE install directories, from which we can source the environmenmt profiles while launching each of these databases.
The FS layout is as follows --- All FS's will be owned by sybase (2 sets of FS will be created with SIDs for DEV and QAS)
    /usr/sap/SID/sybase ------------- sybase install dir
    /usr/sap/SID/database -------- catalog DB
    /usr/sap/SID/main -------------- IQ_SYSTEM_TEMP
/usr/sap/SID/log -- ---- Transaction logs and other system logs  ----- Can the transaction log be stored here for Point in Time Recovery?
    /usr/sap/SID/messages --------- messages
    /usr/sap/SID/html ---------- html query plans
/usr/sap/SID/sapdata1 to /usr/sap/SID/sapdata4 --- for iq db spaces (user db spaces)
/usr/sap/SID/temp/temp1 to /usr/sap/SID/temp/temp4 --- for iqtmp spaces  (both the sapdatax and tempx have same sizes)
Question ---- can the base directory /usr/sap/SID/temp become the IQTMP16 and will it access the other file systems (temp1, temp2 and so on) undreneath it or do we have to just create one file system - /usr/sap/SID/temp?
/usr/sap/SID/tmp ----- path for -dt option in the config file to store server dependant files. - I am not sure what this -dt stands for and how different is it from iqtmp FS (usr/sap/SID/temp....)
Question - In the First Guidance guide, this filesystem is mentioned as (IQ for Sort)... Does /usr/sap/SID/temp (iqtmp) and /usr/sap/SID/tmp (.tmp) have same sizes?
Question - Does the /usr/sap/SID/sapdata, /usr/sap/SID/temp and /usr/sap/SID/tmp have same sizes?
We will install DEV under /usr/sap/DEV/sybase and configure it to use the above file systems. Similarly, we will have filesystems for QAS but the install will begin from /usr/sap/QAS/sybase.....
Is it a viable way of installting multiple NLS databases on one server?
    Please help....
