Unbreakable Linux Network , new account creation error

Trying to isntall updates on my newly installed OELinux 4.7
Getting this error, Wondering why, and what's its fix? I think i am giving right CSI #, any way to confirm its right?
1 error has occurred
* The CSI you have entered is not valid for either Oracle VM or Enterprise Linux Support. Please enter a valid CSI.

1. get an oracle unbreakable CSI (by buying a license for it)
2. setup up2date with this CSI
3. register your machine
Are the other threads you've started resolved? If so, please update them accordingly and flag them resolved!

I tried to subscribe to Unbreakable Linux Network with my company's CSI supplied to us through our Oracle partnership; I work for an Oracle Certified Advantage Partner. I have used my CSI for MetaLink registration and Service Requests, but it is not working when I try to register for "up2date" (error: "CSI is not valid").
Should my company's CSI work?

We have Oracle 11.2 on Unbreakable 5.4 x_64.
My question is this. Is it possible to fetch patches for the DB through the Unbreakable Linux Network channels. Links so I can RTFM are most welcome.

Webcenter Spaces : New Account creation issue

I have installed Webcenter Suite 11g and did the require configurations post installation. I can see three servers in the webcenter domian created. Namely -
Portlet
Spaces
Services
Now, if I open the link for spaces i.e host:port/webcenter/spaces , it comes up, but requires user name and password. I have not provided any user name and password during the installation.
In the spaces page there is a provision of creating "New Account / Register" . I tried that giving username, pwd, name, mail id etc. It gives error saying -
"User not created. Either the user name or password doesnot adhere to the registration policy or the identity store is unavailable."
Now My questions are :
a) is there any default user , using which I can log into spaces ?
b) what is the registration policy (In error there is no link available to check the same) to make user my user name adhere the same?
c) Do I need to have LDAP server / identity store configuration before hand which contains the user ? If So how to do it ?

You can access the users and groups using the console
Just go to your WLS: http://localhost:7001/console (replace localhost and port to your server) and than login with your weblogic account.
In the left menu you will have a link to the security realm. By default their is a "myrealm". If you click on that you will see the tabs "User and groups". Their are all the users that are currently in the LDAP of your WLS.
To create a new user just press the "new" button.
Normally you should be able to login with the weblogic user without any problem. Try creating a new user and try to login with that.

New Account Creation Prob

I'm guessing that this is related to some setting I changed at some point ( over the years) but here's the problem...
I am able to "create" a new account e.g., I name it and set a password for it, I can see it as a new account on the account menu at start up.
Now when I try to log into that account, the machine goes to a blank blue screen. Nothing. no hard drive icon no folders, nothing. I then need to reboot.
Please help!

Update:
have not reinstalled update.
was able to repair permissions... But nada, probrem still present
I will try the reinstall next..
not sure if this would make a difference... but I neglected to mention that only one of the 4 accounts on the machine has this issue.

GL Account Creation Error

Hi,
The users are trying to create a GL Account but the system throws an error message, stating that the Cost Element already created for this GL Code. However, when we try to delete the Cost Element, the system gives the message, that the Cost Element does not exist. Could anyone please advise as to what could be the remedy for the same and where to look for the settings that could enable the creation of the GL Code.

if your aim is to create that GL account, u can do a customizing which should be used for once!
go OB13 and select your COA and then change controlling integration from "automatic creation of cost elements" to "manuel creation of cost elements".
after u create your GL account and if you delete your cost element then create it again manually.
finally reverse your customizing action.

Fs00 gl account creation - error fh005

Dear experts
i have the following issue creating a new GL account using fs00.
I have one chart of accounts linked to several company codes. Both the chart of accounts and the comp codes do apply the English language. I have been creating several accounts without any problem for months.
Now the following issue comes up: as soon as I save the account it is saved and immediately after I get the error message FH005 (account does not exist in company code). Afterwards, if I check the account in fsp0 it does exist; if I check it in fss0 it does not exist. Additionally, checking the tables I see that the entry exists in Ska1 (this is what we expect) but does exist as well in skb1. The skat table is properly maintained as I have the entry for my GL account In English language.
If I try to change the GL account via fsp0 I get the error FH173 "description in language En not available". If I try to create the account in the company code (despite of the entry in skb1 the GL account is not created in the company code) I get th error FH743 "description missing in maintenance language "
My logon language is English. In the in the translation tab I have the entry in En language.

Hi Letterio,
Is this issue only for a particular GL Account group? Create a GL Account using FS00 with other GL Account Group as its a dev system and do not post any transactions because you can always delete and archive a GL Account that is created with another GL Account group (If you dont want to keep this GL Account in dev system).
If this is the case search for oss as it seems some inconsistency in the SAP system.

G/l account creation error

Hi Gurus,
Within my chart of accounts, I have defined the number range 100000-399999 for b/s items and from 400000 up for i/s items. However, when i try to create i/s accounts, i get the following error: Make an entry in field "P&L Statement Acct Type". Any ideas?

You are creating P & L account and You may have created more than one retained earnings account and system ask you enter the P&L statement acocunt type. Check retained earning account in OB53. Here check X is entered into P&L statement account type in OB53, if not then do so.

Getting NEW FORUM creation error in Discussion Forum Portlet of Oracle 10g

I have deployed Discussion Forum provided by Oracle.
For deployment I have followed the document provided, which is available on http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/html/installing.integration.v2.html
Our application running on mid tier 904_j2ee 9.0.4 at port 80, and infra also running on port 80. URL of my site is www.icai.org which is deployed under mid tier.I have deployed discussion forum in 904_j2ee/j2ee/OC4J_Portal.
After deployment, I have registered the provider, and attached this to portal page. Till this stage its working fine. Now Discussion Forum page is appearing, and I am able to add NEW PRODUCT. But when I click to NEW FORUM link ,or delete the "PRODUCT" i get following error.

While trying to retrieve the URL: http://www.icai.org/portal/page?

Access Denied.
Access control configuration prevents your request from being allowed at this time. Please contact your service provider if you feel this is incorrect.
I am not able to find the error please suggest me, as this is very savoir issue for me.

Error while installing 10g on oracle unbreakable linux

I got the following error while installing oracle database 10g on oracle unbreakable linux
when my installer peforming product specific prerequiste check i got the warning
checking operating system requrement
checking for gcc-3.2; found not found Failed<<<<<<
I tried to search gcc-3.2 on my linux cd but its not there
can anyone please tell me from where can i install this?

Which gcc is in your CD? List them all.
And yes, they are there. Unless someone gave you a rescue disk or stripped down live CD, in which case you need to thank the person who gave you that appropriately.
You need to search the CD/DVD and you need to learn how to install RPMs. Both can be learned by intelligent internet searches.

Unbreakable Linux Broken ?

I got the DVD with the Oracle magazine I get monthly. Installed it then went to the GUI updater
it asks me if I want to register I seay later up2date comes up I click launch up2date Nothing??? whats up do I need to pay for something first? (this isn't a Microsoft product is it?)

Macbook bound to AD won't allow network login or new local account creation

As the title states I am having an issue related to a macbook pro that is bound to active directory. The only option we tweak when binding the macs to AD is that we opt to "create mobile account" option under directory utility.
It also seems that while we can login through the local admin account, new local accounts cannot be created (the account creation window hangs when you create account).
Any help would be appreciated

To successfully bind a mac workstation to Active Directory certain things need to be in place:
DNS has to be fully resolving on both pointers. This is done on the PDC or whatever server is the designated DNS Server.
Date and Time settings need to be adjusted to reflect whatever is designated as the NTP Server in the AD environment. Adjust the Date & Time Preferences Pane and find out from the Windows Network Administrator what the NTP Server IP address is.
You must use account credentials that has authority for the AD Domain. If you're trying to use your own account it may be restricted in what it can do? A domain account has special privileges not usually accorded to ordinary user accounts.
This assumes you're (a) not the Active Directory Network Administrator and (b) you're using the Active Directory plug-in the login options section of the Accounts Preferences Pane. It's a good idea to click the "Open Directory Utility" button when binding to Active Directory. It's also a good idea to access the Advanced Section once the Utility has opened.
If this is failing at the bind stage then perhaps you should review the details you've been given when binding to AD? It may be worthwhile to clear the workstation from the Computer OU before you try again?

Fill error -50 Can't import over network using new account

login as admin and can import music from my PC over wireless net (I just tried it). I set up a new account which is also administrator. As far as I can tell the two accounts are identical. I am leaving the files in their original location and not copying them. Tried importing but i get unknown file error -50. When attempting this on new account, prompts are slightly different, tho. It doesn't prompt me to select from available shares like in original admin account, but i can select network and then available shares manually. I'm using mp3 encoding. Thanks for any help

Put a song in there with a short name and tried to

What happens if you don't use iTunes, but just try to copy a file from the Windows share using the Finder? If you still can't copy from the one account, then it's a matter of how the Windows file sharing is set up in that account.
That error is a pretty general one, and what you're doing involves so many parts of the OS, from networking to authentication, to QuickTime, that anything you can do to narrow it down will help.
Can you describe in more detail the process you are going through to access the songs on your PC from both accounts? The more detail, the better...
Remember,... i can import these same files from same
folders (so, long filename and path isn't and issue
here) from another account on this mac.
That points to a setting that's different between accounts. Unfortunately, because of that nature of the error, until you can really narrow it down, it's going to be kind of tough to figure out why this error occurs.
