Uncaught Exception Error with GMail on 8330

Hi there,
Just installed GMail application (part of the Google set of applications) after setting up my BB email as the GMail account which is not affected.  There were no problems downloading and installing the GMail app on my BlackBerry Curve 8330 and now I cannot access the GMail account app due to the following error message:
Uncaught exception: net.rim.device.api.system.ControlledAccessException
Any ideas why I have this error?
What can be done to resolve this issue.  The BB mail account is fine, just the GMail app is the problem.
Thanks for assistance...
Lynn

Hello again,
I have hopefully solved the problem.  I read some other posts that mentioned a new software installation might be causing an issue.  I ended up removing Bing, the Curve restarted, GMail now works!
Just in case someone has an issue.

  • Getting an "uncaught exception" error when trying to Scan a document via D-Link DPR-1260 print sever (worked in prior versions of Firefox)

    I'm using the interface (Firmware V1.24) on a D-Link DPR-1260 Print Server, connected to an Epson Printer/Scanner. When I hit the "Scan" button, I get an "uncaught exception" error. This firmware has been working for years (at least back to Firefox 3.x), but no longer works with Firefox V6.0

    Nothing really, but... The firmware runs in a web browser. It's been working fine for years and no longer works since I got the latest version of Firefox. It does, however, still work in IE (V9) so I do have a way to use my existing hardware.
    I tried D-Link and Google search for any information about this, but came up empty. I was hoping that there might be similar problems with other software with Firefox 6.0.2 and someone might have a work-around or there might be a patch coming soon. At the very least, someone associated with Firefox might be interested that they've apparently broken something that used to work.

  • [Urgent] Uncaught exception: Errors!

    Hello Blackberry Support!
    So I'm in a pretty bad situation at the moment. It seems as though my mothers Blackberry Torch 9810 is receiving quite a lot of errors. The phone was operational and at occasions, restarts itself (probably because the ram gets clogged up). However, this time the phone was stuck on the loading screen. I decided it was best to see if taking the battery out and in again would work but unfortunately it didn't. So I left it aside for a while incase it isn't frozen and loads up to the home screen but instead of that, Uncaught Exception Errors began popping up with a menu behind it which had a list of stock and third-party applications.
    Errors such as Uncaught exception: java.lang.nullpointerexception
    and
    Uncaught exception: ApplicationRegistry.getOrWaitFor (0x...) owner died Thread [Thread-...]
    keep occuring.
    We're very reluctant at restoring the whole phone as we dont want any sort of data being deleted, especially photos and videos.
    Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
    There's pretty much no diagnosing those -- they are the equivalent of the random errors in Windows for which tracing the root cause is fruitless. Basically, these are the last out in the programming code -- some event occurred for which there is no handler in the code. The fix is a code update that handles the event...but, again, knowing what the event is is pretty much impossible. So, there are a few things to try:
    Sometimes, the code simply becomes corrupt and needs to be refreshed -- just like a reboot:
    Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    If it won't boot up cleanly, then you may need to try Safe Mode:
    KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in safe mode
    There might be an updated code set from the carrier -- check them via this portal:
     http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    The toughest possible cause is a badly behaving app. To find it, there are a couple of options. One is to see if you can read the log file:
    Go to the home screen. Hold down the "alt" key and type 'lglg'. (You will not see anything while you type).This will bring up the log file. Scroll down (probably many pages) untill you see a line that says 'uncaught execption'. Click on this line. The name of the app will be in the info. Alternative methods for bringing up the logs are in this KB:
    KB05349How to enable, access, and extract the event logs on a BlackBerry smartphone
    The other method is to remove apps one at a time, waiting a while in between (I usually recommend a week), until the problem ceases...thereby discovering the offending app. Still another method is to reload the BB OS cleanly, leaving some time between adding other apps onto the BB so as to be able to determine exactly which one is the cause.
    As for backing up your data, that requires the device to be running normally and not failing for one reason or another. If, for example, you can get it to run stable in Safe Mode, you might then be able to take a backup. But, please do realize that, like insurance, backups are neither a reactive nor an optional activity. The time to take a backup is when things are running fine, not after problems arise.
    Good luck and let us know!

  • Uncaught Exception error 86: RIM messaging. Kill. Me. Now. :-)

    My phone reports an uncaught exception error 86 several times a day. sometimes it reboots itself. Sometimes it says it's rebuilding the message list. Other times it just won't open email or SMS message lists at all.
    I've scoured the forums, done multiple hard resets, updated the OS, downgraded the OS, upgraded it back up again and still no solution.
    Aaaaarrgghh! :-)
    Someone please help me!
    Curve 8900 on AT&T in San Francisco. Running v5.0.0.1067.The only apps I use are Google Maps, Google Sync and eBay. There appears to be no pattern to when the problem happens: sometimes I literally pick the phone up to find it in the middle of a reboot.
    If someone can't help me I may have to shoot myself. :-)

    Hi
    As you have found, such an issue is usually dealt with by reinstalling the OS. Did you completely wipe the BB and start from scratch with new OS and Desk Top Software? I kept re-installing the same OS not realising is what my particular copy of it that had the problem. So
    In the guides it says to do a backup. Do this if you haven't already done so saving the file to a place and in a name that you can easily locate on computer.
    I then uninstalled DTM and then deleted all other references to BB/Rim in Windows Explorer thus removing the OS for the BB from the computer in order to ensure that the version I would reinstall would be a brand new downloaded version.
    Get the latest Desk Top Software
    http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/?CPID=OTC-DSKTPSW&cp=OTC-DSKTPSW
    and install it on the computer.
    Get the correct latest version of the OS
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    and save it to computer.
    To erase all the data on your BlackBerry device, complete the following steps. This option is available with
    BlackBerry Device Software 3.8 and later.
    1. In the device Options, click Security.
    If you are using BlackBerry Device Software 4.1, click Security Options > General Security.
    2. Click the trackwheel and select Wipe Handheld.
    3. Click Continue.
    4. Type “blackberry”. All the data on the BlackBerry device is erased.
    On some new versions of BlackBerry software, the menu navigation is slightly different.
    1. Go to Options.
    2. Select Security Options.
    3. Select General Settings.
    4. Click the Menu key.
    5. Select Wipe Handheld.
    6. Click Continue.
    7. Type “blackberry”. All the data on the BlackBerry device is erased.
    Launch the new Desk Top Software on the computer
    1. Connect your device to your computer.
    2. On the home screen of the BlackBerry® Desktop Software, click Update my device.
    3. Do one of the following:
    * To download an update, click Get update.
    * To view other available versions of the BlackBerry Device Software, click View other versions. If applicable, click another version. Click Install.
    Ensure the new OS is the one you prevously downloaded. When you get to the step of reinstalling apps, leave out the latest app/s or those you originally installed before the problem started. You can reinstall these one at a time once you are happy that device works.
    Do not disconnect the device until the whole process is completed and the device has rebooted.
    After 10 minutes reboot again by removing the battery whilst powered-on and leave it out for a couple of minutes.
    Leave it again for 10 minutes. You should now have a fully functioning BB!

    Hi All,
    Im getting this error message on my STORM 9520:
    Uncaught Exception Error: Application Net_rim_bb_qm_peeer (192) not responding process terminated.
    This happens whenever im using BBM, i have to do a battery pull all the time to prevent the unit from freezing and hanging.
    I've done OS install already using the latest SW platform for the STORM 9520 trying to fix this recurring problem, but after 3 tries of doing javaloader and sw install, the issue keeps on coming back.
    Do you think this is a HW problem already?
    Your inputs are appreciated!!!!

  • SRM 5 Patching Price Check Uncaught Exception Error

    Hi Gurus
    We are in the process of applying patches to our SRM 550 system.  We are going from SP 13 to 15.
    Extended classic scenario linked to backend ERP
    We have a particular issue with the system producing short dumps.
    1. We create a SC using describe requirements.  Add two lines to the cart, one for goods e.g. furniture with a price, and one for delivery with a zero price.
    2. The SC is sent by WF to our operational purchasers. We do not use SOCO.
    3. An Operational Purchaser opens the cart for change and adds a valid supplier to the zero priced line.  Press Check button, hit return key, or refresh button.
    4. The system produces a short dump because of an uncaught exception and fails.
    ST22 error log shows us the following:-
    Error analysis
        An exception occurred which is explained in detail below.
        The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_BBP_PD_ABORT', was not caught and
        therefore caused a runtime error.
        The reason for the exception is:
        Incorrect status in pricing
    Information on where terminated
        Termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLBBP_PDH" - in "BBP_PD_ABORT".
        The main program was "SAPLBBP_SC_UI_ITS ".
        In the source code you have the termination point in line 73
        of the (Include) program "LBBP_PDHU08".
    I can provide further ST22 log entries if this would help, but I wanted to keep my initial posting short.
    This only happens when a Describe requirements cart has a zero priced line, catalog items with zero price work OK.
    Zero priced lines are essential to our business process as goods may be supplied to us either with a zero price, or the price may not be determined at the time the order is raised e.g. Delivery charges.
    The issue has already been logged as high priority with OSS but we have no answer yet.
    We have no bespoke in this area.
    Our ABAP team have already debugged and determined that there is an error being returned by the SAP code.
    Has anyone else come across this issue or know of any SAP note that will fix this uncaught exception?
    We are now getting desperate as our go-live for this system is next week.
    Any suggestions would be much appreciated and suitable points will be awarded.
    Allen Brooks

  • Uncaught exception error when entering in "Messages"

    I have a client that uses a Blackberry World Edition (8830) and when he tries to go into Messages (by selecting the Messages icon) he gets this error message all the time: Uncaught Exception:java.lang.null.pointer
    I tried 2 kind of resets, alt+caps+del and tried removing the battery while the BB is on and same thing, I did a hard reset, which is wipe the BB and client left me a message this morning that he still gets the same error message.
    From my BES console (we synchronise with Domino servers on a Lotus Notes plattform) I see that he has the
    platform version 3.0.0.81
    Blackberry version: 4.2.2.196
    His blackberry ues a Bell Mobility service.
    Right now, the only other thing I can think of is to download the OS and reload it on the BB using Desktop Manager.
    Can anyone help me with this please.  I appreciate all the help.

    * Update -- my client activated his blackberry with the BES this morning and sent me a message that, after the activation, the problem seems to be resolved.  Now, is there anything different that can be done in case  this happens again, we have over 800 blackberry users and most of them have the 8830 model.

    Solved!

    Hi,
    Your troubleshooting actions were right on the money, as far as I can see.
    HRT is the Host Routing Tables. It is entries sent from the Carrier.
    When you highlight the above entry and hit register now, it registers it with the wireless network. Updates the device details onto the rim relay and sends down carrier specific icons or applicants
    I believe the problem existed in a corrupt application on the users smartphone, by registering the phone, the application
    was refreshed. This is the first time I have seen that particular exception message get resolved without a device
    reload. (Just for reference I have read 133150 posts.)

  • Exception errors with GUI

    Hello, I've been working on some Java as part of an engineering project, however my skills with Java aren't great, and my skills with GUI and Networking (which this involves) were only as a user before starting this. A problem that I haven't been able to get around is an exception error when using the actionPerformed method from java.awt.* .
    My goal is to be able to, when a button is pushed, send a UDP packet with the command of the button to another PC. My understanding from tutorials is that actionPerformed is the method to use for when buttons are pushed, however creating or using a DatagramSocket inside this method causes an exception error (java.net.SocketException). Normally I would just tell it to throw exceptions, but when trying it says it cannot overwrite the method. I thought I got around this by placing the socket within another method and calling that instead, but that just simply caused a different exception (java.lang.Exception).
    Any suggestions on how to make this work, or am I using the wrong method for this sort of thing?
    Some code snippets:
    Version 1
    //when the buttons are pushed, this does the actions required.
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent evt){
    DatagramSocket socket = new DatagramSocket(11111); //Error here
    Object source = evt.getSource();
    Version 2
    //when the buttons are pushed, this does the actions required.
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent evt){
    Object source = evt.getSource();
    byte[] comm;
    if (source == Identify) {
         command = "identify";
         comm = command.getBytes();
         this.sendIt(command); //Errors here
         version = this.getIt(); //and here
    Version 3
    //when the buttons are pushed, this does the actions required.
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent evt)throws Exception { //Error Here
    Object source = evt.getSource();
    Thanks for any help.

    you can use the try-catch clause ...
    like this:
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e){
        try{
             if(e.getSource() == myButton)
                  // your code here...
           catch(Exception err){
                   err.printStackTrace(); // will print the error... read the first line error msg
    }

    Hello Educhene,
    To answer your request, I need to have more information :
    1 - OS?
    2 - Do you have the same behavior using MAX (Measurement and Automation eXplorer)?
    3 - You use the function "Device Reset.vi" in complete LV application or just alone?
    4 - Have you tried to install the last version of NI-DAQ 7.3?
    You can download it for free on the link below :

  • Contacts sync error with Gmail

    Hi,
    Contacts do not sync with Gmail. I always get ""Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly".
    Initially sync is working, but as soon as I change something in the contacts data on my phone, sync stops working and i have the above message. I tried to stop/clear data in Contacts and Contacts storage, and really, sync magically works again, BUT i loose all changes i did in contacts on a phone and i get initial unchanged contacts from Gmail.
    Any ideas?

    Did you try with a different Google account? Well in that case i would suggest that you repair the phone software using PC Companion:

    In PC Companion, press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > Press the blue link that says "Repair phone/tablet".
    Before repairing the software in your device you may want to backup your information first. Check out this topic for more information on how to:

  • "Connection to server failed" error with Gmail exchange server

    Hi,
    I upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS 4.3 on Friday and now I can't access my Gmail account using the Microsoft Exchange settings, I just get a "Connection to server failed" error.
    I also have a Google Apps email account for my website and I am able to access it using exchange... it's just my regular Gmail account that I can't access (and that's where all my contacts are stored).
    I can access the account using the regular Gmail email settings but that doesn't sync my contacts over the air, which is the advantage of using Exchange that I love the most.
    I don't know if it is related or not, but I had a really hard time upgrading to iOS 4.3. I guess the update file was corrupt and it put my phone into restore mode. I had to use a different computer for the upgrade to finally work. Because I was using a different computer I had to restore it as a new phone rather than restoring from a backup, so maybe that has something to do with my email problem.
    Message was edited by: KJones75

    I seem to have solved the problem. I deleted my Gmail account from the phone and then changed my Gmail password from my computer, and then tried adding the account to my phone again... and surprise, surprise, it worked.
    I'm not sure why changing the password fixed the problem, but I'm glad it's working again.

  • UNCAUGHT EXCEPTION error while loading 2lis_11_vakon to OSD_C15 Infocube.

    Hello All,
    While loading data from 2lis_11_vakon to Infocube OSD_C15, we are getting ABAP dump:
    Runtime Errors         UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION
    Exception              CX_RSR_X_MESSAGE
    The exception 'CX_RSR_X_MESSAGE' was raised, but it was not caught anywher
      along
    the call hierarchy.
    Since exceptions represent error situations and this error was not
    adequately responded to, the running ABAP program 'SAPLRRMS' has to be
    terminated.
    Data is loaded properly till PSA, but while loading it ahead, request remains yellow for long time and eventually becomes red with the dump ahead,
    We are currently on SAP BW - SAPKW70019
    If anyone has got same issue in past, let me know,
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Vipul.

    Hello,
    Do the following checks:
    1) Check whether you are dropping indexes before the load
    2) Check whether enough table space is available - you can use SM21 and see whether you get messages like this 'ORA-20000: Insufficient privileges#ORA-06512: at
    "SYS.DBMS_STATS", line 2150#ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_STATS",
    line 14112#ORA-06512: at line 1'
    3) Check OSS Note 963760
