Uncheck all songs

Can anyone tell me how to uncheck all songs in my itunes library without having to go through and uncheck each one individually?

To check or uncheck all the songs in a list you just Control-click the checkbox next to a song.

  • Itunes keeps unchecking all songs

Recently downloaded newest version of Itunes. Itunes 10 point something.  When I did-  I found all my songs were unchecked. I have more than 200 GB of songs- so it took quite a while to check what songs I wanted. This was a week ago. Today when I opened Itunes- I found out it had done it again. All of my songs are unchecked. Any help in this most frustrating problem would be greatly appreciated.

Ctrl-click on an empty box to check them all or vice-versa.
If you don't have a use for them turn them off:
Edit > Preferences > General > Show list checkboxes

  • I just loaded 4,000 songs into I-tunes on  a new laptop.  All of the songs are checked.  Is there a keyboard shortcut to unchek all songs at once in the library?

just loaded 4,000 songs into I-tunes, my entire CD library.  All of the songs are checked.  Is there a keyboard shortcut to uncheck all songs at one time

Yes, CTRL-click on one of them, but why? Unchecked songs will usually be excluded from any device you sync with and will also be skipped during normal playback. If you're using the first effect to control what goes on your device, and "living with" the second then why not switch to using playlist selections for the device. Otherwise one inadvertent CTRL-click on a checkbox will undo all your selections.

  • I unchecked all the songs in my library, how can I get them checked back?

I was trying to uncheck some songs in my library so that they would not transfer to my ipod. I guess i held down shift or control to uncheck the group when I had a few songs selected. Now all my songs in my library are unchecked. I want to update my ipod but I am afraid that when I plug it back up that it will erase all the songs off my ipod since they all are unchecked in my library. I have quite a bit of music in my library and do not want to recheck the songs that I want to transfer again. Is there any way to rebuild the original checked songs?
    thanks

hey thanks, I really wanted to check only the
original songs i had checked, some 15 gigs worth
instead of the 30+ gigs i have. I wanted to know if
there was a way recheck only the original songs
instead of clicking every single song
    No, there is not.
You might find it advisable to make a smart playlist of "Checked Songs" and to occassionally back this playlist up into a normal playlist. This way, if you accidently check or uncheck everything, all you have to do is to pick your checked backup playlist and check all the songs in it.
You can make a Smart Playlist for checked songs by using a rule of 'Comment is not dkjbdsk' (or some other nonsense) and turning on the "Match Checked Songs Only" flag. Then you can back that up into a non-smart playlist by selecting all the songs in the smart playlist and using the File->New Playlist from Selection menu option.

  • HT1711 HOW TO I UNCHECK (ALL AT ONCE) THE CHECK MARKS NEXT TO THE SONGS

HOW DO I - WHAT IS THE COMMAND - TO UNCHECK ALL AT ONCE THE CHECK MARKS NEXT TO THE SONG LISTS.

Command-click one of the tickboxes and they should all be unticked (and similarly Command-click again to re-tick them all).
(For future info, typing all in capitals is considered shouting, and may mean that people don't reply to your posts.)

Is it possible to uncheck all the songs in my library without having to do it individually ?

Select the items you want to uncheck.  In your case, click on any item and then do a Select All (from the Edit menu or Cmd-A on keyboard).  Right-click on selection and select Uncheck Selection.

  • How do you tick (check) or untick (uncheck) multiple songs?

Hi I'm having trouble checking & unchecking songs in my itunes music folder. I have managed to uncheck all 2000 odd songs but can't find a way of checking them all again without doing them one at a time which is slow & boring! Can anyone help??

On my PC, in I-Tunes,  to erase CHECKS on songs,  I found that by holding down CONTROL, clicking on the top song of a list, then clicking on the last song in the list I wanted to erase, then clicking would remove just those.
The changes also appeared in the PLAYLISTS as well. In the playlist, I found I could do the same and either erase or recheck by using CONTROL.  But NOT under the general list, I could ONLY ERASE. Tip -- be ready to used the UNDO button under EDIT.
Having good, varied playlists are the most usual thing in I-Tunes. I uncheck all 2000+  songs, then Check the songs I want to SYNC with in the playlists.  Only those songs checked either in playlists or those still checked under MUSIC will then go to the IPOD, and all those already on the IPOD will vanish, still on I-tunes waiting. (PODCASTS are not affected.)

  • How Can I Play All Songs On My IPod Touch at Same Volume?

I have an IPod Touch 5th Generation which I bought this year. I also have a 4 year old  Apple IMac desktop with ITunes version  11.0.4(4).
I have the latest version of OS Mountain Lion.
I sync songs from ITunes on my IMac desktop to the IPod Touch. Songs play back at different volumes on the IPod Touch.
I want them all to play at the same volume.
Almost all of the songs in my ITunes on my IMac were downloaded from many different music websites,
very few from the Apple Store.
I also have an IPod Nano 5th Generation which I bought a few years ago. I copied songs from ITunes on my desktop to my IPod Nano.
But I did not sync them. Just transferred or copied many of the songs from ITunes, without syncing.  The ITunes songs appear to play at equal volume on
my IPod Nano but not on my IPod Touch. For Settings on my IPod Touch, I set Sound Check to On.
Regarding ITunes Preferences (ITunes is on my desktop IMac):
The Sound Enhancer and the Sound Check are both checked, and have been checked for a long time. Therefore all the songs
on my IPod Touch should all be played at the same volume, shouldn't they, since they were synced from ITunes.
Doesn't the Sound Check on ITunes control that?
If they all play on the same volume on my ITunes, shouldn't all songs play on the same volume on my IPod Touch?
I noticed today the Crossfade in ITunes Preferences on my IMac was not checked. I thought it had been, but maybe I accidentally unchecked it one day.
I checked it today but was not sure what time to put on it. I put the time in the middle, which is about 6 seconds. Not sure if this is OK.
I'd like one song to come on just about when the previous song ends. Any suggestions? (There does not seem to be a Crossfade option
in the ITouch Music Settings). If I use Crossfade in ITunes, will it crossfade when I play the IPod Touch, since it synced the ITunes?
Also, I have the music setting for EQ on my IPod Touch set to OFF. I assume I don't need this, but please let me know if I do.

Settings>Music>Sound Check will HELP to normalise the volume of your music but it only averages it out.

  • My sis and I share the same library for iTunes but when she tries to uncheck my songs and syncs hers, my songs are synced to her iPod still making her delete my songs. What can she do?

So my sis and I share the same iTunes library on the comp, and when ever she wants to sync her music, she unchecks all my songs. But once she unchecked my songs and syncs hers onto her iPod, my songs are there still. We've unchecked all my songs manually but my songs still sync onto her iPod. I want to know what to do because she ends up deleting my songs and when ever I wanna sync my songs, it takes me forever. PLEASE HELP ME GUYS!!

How to use multiple iPods, iPads, or iPhones with one computer
Simplest way is to create a New User Account for each of you...
Each user will then have their own iTunes library.

  • Is there a way to deselect all songs in a folder?

Christmas is done, and I'm ready to put all Holiday music to bed for a year. My Holiday music folder contains an awful lot of albums & songs and it will take me a long time to deselect all of the music one song at a time. (When I use the itunes dj for all music, it loves to play my Holiday songs, much to my annoyance). Is there a way to deselect all of the songs in this folder much like one would do in Yahoo mail, for instance?
    Thanks in advance.
    Peter

To check or uncheck all boxes on a Mac with one click, hold down the Command (cmd) key and click on one of the checkboxes with the mouse. You can use this in a library, a playlist or in search results.

  • Not all songs transferred from iTunes to iPod

iPod touch 3G, intel iMac (Leopard).
The iTunes library has just been rebuilt with all files present and correct, cover art etc and AFAIK all tunes play OK. (Took ages, but it's all good!)
    1. Removed all songs from iPod
    2. Updated OS to 5.0.1
    3. Synced all music to iPod from iTunes. At the start I got a message saying that "This computer is not authorised to play some songs and they will not be transferred". However the iMac is of course authorised, and all the songs were either bought through iTunes on the iPod and transferred (over the last 2 years) or bought direct to the iMac, or ripped from personal CDs.
    4. Unchecked "sync all songs", switched to "manually manage music" and put them on manually. Same result but without the above message apperaing.
There's 7503 songs on iTunes and only 7431 on the iPod.
    Two questions:
Does anyone know why this should be?
Is there an easy way of finding out which songs are missing? I've checked the ones I remember purchasing on the iPod originally, and they're all there.

You go to iTunes>file>move folder 2 library then you slect the folder your songs that you downloaded r in and click ok.
And more you can follow this tutorial about how to tranfer music from computer to iPod.
    Cheer.

  • How do I get the correct artwork to show and download all songs?

    Hi,
Yesturday I ended up buying new music on iTunes on my PC. I wasn't able to download the music to my iPhone 5 unless I updated to the newest version, which I did. Then not all songs would download to my phone and once I looked closely, I noticed that I had songs missing on my phone and the artwork or name of the songs was incorrect. Any idea how to fix this?
    Thanks

I actually found a right way to fix it. Just uncheck all the songs and sync your iPhone. Then check all the ones you want again and re-sync. The artwork should fix itself.

  • Ipod won't allow me to check all songs for syncing.

Hello. My Ipod Shuffle won't plaiy all of the songs that it used to play, so I opened my library in Itunes. Some songs were unchecked, and these were the ones that are not playing. I tried to check them, but am unable to. The songs will play if I double click on them, however. I checked my preferences and I do not have the box checked that says "Sync only checked songs". Any ideas? Thanks!

The checking and unchecking of songs is done in iTunes, not on the shuffle.  And that may affect what is loaded in the shuffle during automatic syncing.  So first check what is actually loaded on the shuffle.
If the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is not visible, from the iTunes menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
In the sidebar, find your shuffle under DEVICES.  Click the small trianle to the left of the shuffle name to drop down its content list (indented below the shuffle).  Click on Music there.  The list of songs currently on the shuffle is shown to the right.  Are the songs that do not play on that list, or not on that list?
