Unchecked Purchases have disappeared from list

I noticed this a few months ago. If I go under my purchases in iTunes 10.4.1 (10) and uncheck a bunch of songs, if I sync my iPhone and then go back to my "Purchased List", the previously unchecked songs have disappeared from the list.
Is this supposed to happen? is there a way to stop it from happening?

well, now it's iTunes 10.5, but it's still the same problem.
Anyone else notice this? Or am I a special case?

Films i have purchased have disappeared from my ipad!

Hi i have bought 4 films with my ipad and viewed them. They used to be in my videos folder and also appeared in purchased items in the itunes app. However they seem to have disappeared from my ipad they are not in the videos folder (its just a black page) and they are not in the purchased items in the itunes store. However in general information it says that my ipad contains 4 films... I just cant see them. Does anyone seem to know what happened there? Thanks, stephanie

Try searching for the name of one of your videos on the iPad's spotlight search screen - swipe your first homescreen to the right, type in it's name, and if it finds it tap on it to see if it plays.
If that doesn't work then try closing the Videos app completely : from the home screen (i.e.not with the Videos app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Videos app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option if the two above don't work is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Buddies have disappeared from list

I was using iChat last night and it was working just fine. When I go to boot it up this afternoon I noticed that it took longer to appear. Then the list loads, with the white and blue background but none of my buddies are there. Most are still in my Address Book so when I tried to add them one by one it wouldn't let me. I would put in the name, and then click add, but nothing shows up on the list. Then I tried to create a chat with someone that I remembered the name and it said that the privacy settings prevent me from talking to this person. Yes, I checked my privacy settings and it is set to Allow Everyone, and there is no one on my block list. I was able to add the names I had through Meebo, and it still works if I log on now. My iChat still does not have any names and I have tried restarting the computer and everything. Does anyone have any tips as to how I can get my list back, or at least get me a way to fix the problem so I can just add them myself?

HT1267 How can I recover apps that have disappeared from my phone?

Apps I've purchased have disappeared from my iPhone. I've gone to app store, tried to reinstall and get messaged "purchased", but the app doesn't show up on the phone.

Settings > General > Reset. Once there, select the "Reset Home Screen Layout" button. A dialog will pop-up asking for a confirmation.

Most of the videos I have purchased from itunes have disappeared from my screen, and I have no idea how to get them back....help ???????

To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.

HELP!! : Music and Video lists have disappeared from i-touch 2nd Gen

Hi,
I've got the new iPod touch 16GB.
Today after synchronizing, all my Music and Video lists have disappeared from the menus. It also shows nothing in the iTunes browser, however the Storage bar on the summary screen is full with "Other", in an orange color but there's no media on it.
Does anyone know what's going on here and why I can't access the files any more?
Apps and other data were still there and all working fine.
Any help would be really appreciated.....

Too much (more than a few hundred MB) orange "Other" indicates an interrupted or corrupt sync.

It sounds like there’s an issue with Settings, the Notes app entry isn’t showing up as expected. Take a look at the article linked below and try restarting your iPhone 3GS.

Ringtones are currently a one-time only download from the store. If they aren't on your phone or in the Tones section of your computer's iTunes library, then are they on your backup of your downloads ? If not, and if they are still in the store, then you could try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

Are you using Firefox 3.6 or Firefox 4?? Your "More system details..." link shows that you have turned off storing of history using a Firefox 4 preference (places.history.enabled), but your post says Firefox 3.6.17.
Anyway, the general history setting affects not only site URLs, but also downloads. To treat them separately, go to
Tools > Options > Privacy
and change to Custom history settings. Does that solve it?

I have read the the advice you gave, and I had already tried that. It did not help.
When I tried to download an album with nine songs, (I have paid for the complete album), two songs were missing. One of them has showed up/disappeared a couple of times, but with a cloud/arrow-symbol next to it, what I thought to be a symbol for downloading from the cloud. When I click it, it starts a downloading process, and then I am told it cannot be done, "please try again later". The other song is nowhere to be seen. The song with the cloud/arrow-symbol, I bought 3 times, once with the album, twice just the song. That didn't change matters. iTunes tells me I have downoladed all songs I have purchased.
I do not really understand why you do not understand what I am writing, I only describe what happens when I use iTunes.
If a person want to use iCloud, one needs an iPhone, iPad or an iPod Touch. That information is not given until you have downloaded and installed the iCloud program. That is why I have it on my computer, but cannot use it. To set up an iClod account, you have to connect one of the above mentioned devices. I don't have one, so I cannot do it.
If you want the (13013) problem explained, I suggest you google it. I am not the only one to have that problem.
I am thankful that you spend time on trying to help me, but I cannot explain things clearer than this.

In Windows 7 I mistakenly un-installed Adobe Application Manager and all applications (CS3E, CS5 and Elements 6) have disappeared from programs on the start menu

WIN7: Mistakenly un-installed Adobe Application Manager and now all Adobe apps (CS3, CS5 and Elements 6) have disappeared from the programs list in the start up menu.
CS5 Bridge is still there so I can get into the photo editor to de-activate it and re-install.
However, all of CS3 has disappeared so I cannot get into it to de-activate.
Question 1: Will downloading and re-installing Adobe Application manager get CS3 automatically back?
Question 2: If not, what to do to get CS3 back things working properly again? Remember, I can't de-activate it.

Don't worry about activation unless you are installing on a new and different machine. Simply reinstall in order. It should all work.
Then install any updates. Product updates
After that, let me know how it went and if there are any further questions.

All of my photos have disappeared from PSE Organizer 13 (after I upgraded it). The files are all on the HD. When I try and reimport them, Organizer says they are already in there and will not allow me to proceed. When I highlight a keyword, Get the message "NO MEDIA TO BE DISPLAYED". Perhaps I am dense, but I find the Search function of the Forum to be near useless, unless I just happen to type the Exact name of a topic.
I now have no access to perhaps 35,000 files from 12 years of using PSE!

Which operating system are you running on? Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
Which version did you upgrade from? updated from PSE 13 to PSE 13.1
In the organizer, which view are you using - in the View menu is Details checked or unchecked - does it make any difference? was unchecked now checked. Now can see the other files, but the Keyword tags that I had attached in the past does not bring up the selected frames.
In the View menu, select Media types - are all checked? At this point I have only Ohotos and videos checked
In View menu, select Hidden Files - is Show All Files checked? yes
I'm assuming that you are in Media view, what happens if you select People Places or Events? get groupings of files with those keywords.

Once again, my .mac aliases have disappeared from Mail.... Arghhh! help?

Once again, with no warning, all my .mac aliases have disappeared from the dropdowns in my Mail app (OS 10.4.11). They still exist in .mac/mobile me webmail, and in Mail i'm still receiving emails addressed to them. But I can't reply to these emails with the alias, nor create new emails with aliases.
I have tried Sync-ing with the site- i recollect that has worked in the past, but now no change. i have tried adding the aliases in with commas after the primary address in Preferences (as is suggested in KB below), but it does not work- and the next time Prefs is open, they are gone. In Mail preferences, the account is listed as ".mac", which is listed in the KB as one of the correct types (the other being imap).
I use my .mac aliases a lot, and have for years. i do NOT like or want to go to .mac/me Webmail to be able to use them. i do NOT want to change them to .me addresses/aliases. I can't stand how they just randomly come and go as far as being available as dropdowns in Mail... what the heck is up with Apple? i'm paying $100 for these kinds of services (excuse me, $99) and they can't keep a few aliases available to their own app (Mail)? If they weren't so deeply embedded in my business uses, i'd ditch the whole thing.
Anyway, enuf ranting; does anyone know the solution or work-around? Nothing in the below KB worked for me, even tho it is supposed to.

If your aliases are disappearing after you enter them, that would indicate that your Mail preferences file has become corrupted. The only solution for that is to delete the com.apple.mail.plist file in Home/Library/Preferences, then restart Mail and setup your account(s) again.
However, before you do that, you must remove all your mail account folders that being with "IMAP-"; otherwise you'll create more problems for yourself. Those are located in Home/Library/Mail.

Some of my icons have disappeared from my desktop

Quite a few of my app icons have disappeared from my iPad screen. I can still go into the app thru notifications or thru the purchased section of the App Store. Does anyone know how to get them back??? Thank you so very much!!!! Carolyn

If you can still access these apps from the purchased tab of the App Store or via a spotlight search, they cannot be restricted. Restrictions will hide apps and make them totally unusable - hence the restrictions name.
Have you tried resetting the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen?
Or, you can also try resetting the home screen layout and the home screen icon will reappear - but the home screen will return to the way that it looked when you first activated your iPad.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.
