hi people... at first, sorry for my english. I hava a Sun Fire 280R with Solaris 8 and today it boot aparently without a reason, it boot 5 or 6 times. The error before the fall is:

I can not make a backup and sometimes I can not logon because it cause the boot. I have reading something of this error and I have puting the machine in diagnostic mode:

After this, power-off and after this I have igniting the machine... I have almost one hour waiting and no notice... the screen continue black :-(

Having said that...
Diagnostic mode sends all console output to the TTYa port.
You will never see the diag results on your monitor.
Particularly for such a system as a 280R that was
never intended to run with a graphics card and keyboard/mouse.
Set up a TIP session and start the diag boot all over again.
Capture all the output to a file
You appear to have a hardware issue.
We can only guess what the real root cause might be
(third party adapter card? Solaris not patched?)
You would get the best guidance and analysis if you open a service case with Sun techsupport.

Adobe Lens Profile Creator - ERROR (Detect corners failed because file reading errors ocurred)

1) I have successfully created a lens profile for a Nikon AF Micro Nikkor 40mm 2.8 lens used in a Nikon D5200 Camera. For this I converted the raw .nef files to .DNG first using Adobe's DNG Converter.
2) When trying to create another lens profile using the EXACT SAME .DNG files as posted in 1), I am no longer able to create a lens profile because of the message "Detect corners failed because file reading errors ocurred". I am also unable to create any other lens profile using different photos.
3) I have also tried using a fresh install of Adobe Lens Profile Creator in another mac and I get the exact same error.
4) I AM ABLE to create a lens profile if I use .jpg files (generated from the same raw .nef files as mentioned) but this doesn't help because then the profiles don't show up when trying to open a raw file in Adobe Camera Raw.
Please help as this is exasperating.

Thanks! I had the same error message in Adobe Lens Profile Creator 1.0.4 for OSX and I found the problem to be the letter ö in the folder name for the DNGs. The lens is an old ISCO-Göttingen and the progress stopped at 2% with the mentioned error message. Changed the folder name and now it works!

Check if user odi has DBA permissions.
Test connection on 1-st page

New Mac Pro - Errors detected on memory module

My system:
Mac Pro (Late 2013)
3,5 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5
16 GB 1866 MHz DDR3 ECC
AMD FirePro D500 3072 MB
250G SSD Internal
OSX Yosemite 10.10.1
Problem:
During the hard editing in Final Cut or work in Motion I feel like my mac starts to slow down.
Especially during sharing video to h264 format. Mac starts very slowly rendering.
After the first failure in the system, I found this errors:
first error occurs in one module, then after 15-20 min. in all modules
Is this a hardware problem?
If not a hardware problem, is there some well understood fix for this?

You may see that the Error detection-and-correction Hardware has found (and corrected) errors in some of your modules, as seen in this report:

Modules that are giving errors are Bad. This is a Hardware Problem, but check to be sure the fan is running. If it gets a little bit worse, a Double-bit (uncorrectable) Error will occur, and you Mac Pro will halt on a kernel panic, machine check, uncorrected error or error overflow, detected by multiple processors at once. This is by design, to keep memory errors from poisoning your data.

PANIC: fatal region error detected

i encoutered this error for stress testing.
in the project, we used the transaction and cursor. when the application is runing for a long time, i will receive the err about "PANIC: fatal region error detected". i change the max numbers of transaction, the same error also occurs. when this error occurs, the application can't create any transaction and open any cursor.
somebody can solve this problem? any suggestion appreciated.

This error should only occur after some message is sent to the error stream (configured with DB_ENV->set_errfile). Can you please post that output?
What operation causes the error (is it during open, or on some read/write)?
Have you tried looking at the output from running "db_stat -e" to see whether some resource is being exhausted?
Are multiple processes (including the Berkeley DB utilities) accessing the environment when the error occurs? Is it possible that any of those processes are using a different version of Berkeley DB than your application?

This could either be a memory failure (try reseating it, moving it to a different slot, or removing or replacing the memory), or a possible CPU failure. (The system is reporting a CPU machine check error, but it could be caused by memory issues). Go into Computer Management, then click on Event Viewer, Windows Logs, and System. Are there any WHEA warnings listed under Source? An easier way to find them is to Filter Current Log, and select Critical, Warning, Verbose, and Error to filter out the (many) Information entries. If the memory is OK, reseating the CPU might help, but this can be tricky. The CPU socket pins are very easily bent during the removal or install process, and extrememly difficult or impossible to repair if damaged. Also, when the CPU heatsink is removed, clean off the thermal paste on both the CPU and heatsink, and use new paste. The paste hardens, and does not give good thermal conductivity if the heatsinks is removed and the paste is not replaced. The CPU operating temperature can increase by 10 deg. C or more. FYI. If the system is under warranty, contact HP so they can fix it.

I have initiated d Berkeley DB object.
Then, I am using multithreading to put data into the DB.
Here is how I open the one data handler.

What is the problem? Does it have anything to do with the way the handler is created or whether multiple threads can put data into the DB?

Error message when updating Hyperion Planning database "Errors Detected 13"

I am running into a problem while running a Full Update of our Planning database using the Planning Desktop.
It goes through the update on the first database, but as soon as the update starts on the second database I get an error message that just says "*Errors Detected 13*"
What does this mean? Can not find documentation on this?
We are on 9.2.0.2

Potential Windows Update database error detected 0x80070490

This is the response I get when I run the Windows update troubleshooter from the Windows 8.1 Action Center. If I click next it reports the errors have been fixed. However if I run it again it reports exactly the same errors.
After searching the Internet I have found that several users have reported having this issue. As result of the aforementioned search I have tried the following:
1) Run the Fixit tool for Windows 8.1 located at:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058/en-us.
2) Run the System Update Readiness commands: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth and DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth located at:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821/en-us.
3) Saved contents of C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 to a temp folder and then deleted contents of C:\Windows\System32\catroot2.
4)Renamed C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution.old
5) Restarted Windows 8.1.
6) Verified that C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 and that C:Windows\SoftwareDistribution folders had been rebuilt.
7) I then ran the Windows update troubleshooter from the Window 8.1 Action Center again and got the same response as listed above. The errors still exist and are not fixed.
8) Finally, I downloaded Windows 8.1 Enterprise Evaluation and I did a completely new clean install of Windows 8.1 and without installing anything else (no updates, no software, no antivirus) the above errors appeared within minutes after connecting
to the internet. I checked using the Windows update troubleshooter several times before connecting to the Internet and each time no problems were found, but shortly after I connected the above errors are shown to exists.
Any suggestions that will help fix this issue will be of great help.

Incorrect Page Size or Orientation Error Detected in Live Preflight

I am trying to prepare a newsletter created in Adobe InDesign to send to a Printer in Germany. This is the first time I'm sending a document to press since moving to Germany last February and the first time since upgrading my computer and software to:
MacBookPro: Model 5,3
Adobe InDesign: ver. 6.0.6
Adobe Acrobat Pro: ver. 9.4.0
The standard paper size in Europe is "A4" , slightly larger than our "Letter" size. Document was set up an "A4" document size. A4 is also selected on the Print menu.
Live Preflight shows "incorrect page size or orientation" and says:
Required: 612 pt. x 792 pt.
Current: 595.276 pt. x 841.89 pt.
Fix: Choose File/ Document Setup to specified required page size.
I tried changing the document setup to the "required" 612 x 792, and the document was squeezed into the smaller space, ruining the document formatting! I undid the damage and looked further for the incorrect preference setting.
There is a wrong setting somewhere, but I can't find it.
Distiller is rejecting the document and won't generate a PDF. The only other errors detected in Preflight were RGB color space issues.
All settings in InDesign Preferences, Print Menu and PDF generator are set for the size A4, yet Preflight insists that the Document
Size and Orientation are incorrect and suggests changing the size to 612 pt. x 792 pt.
I also noted that when setting up the PDF, I did not check "Optimized for Fast Web Viewing," yet when I generated the PDF, it "Optimized for Fast Web Viewing." It seems that there is some preference somewhere that is overriding my selections. But where....?!
I was able to generate a PDF from InDesign (without going through Distiller) and the printer was able to use the PDF. I was taught to always use Distiller when submitting files to printers, and to "package" the files. Is there some risk in sending files without using Distiller?
In addition to the page size/orientation issue, Europe has different standards for color space and printers' ink also. If anyone could shed some light on how I should adapt to European standards, I would be grateful.
I was disappointed that Adobe offered only paid support, although I purchased Adobe CS4 less than a year ago. For such an expensive
product, I would think free support would be available for at a minimum one year.

Yes, Preflight was looking for letter size and created a conflict with my page size/orientation selections in the document setup and print setup.
No, this didn't resolve the problem keeping Distiller from making my PDF.

Does every criterion set in Preflight have to be fulfilled for Distiller to work? How do I isolate the problem keeping the PDF from being created?

Error: L-EC uncorrectable error.

Getting this error at work on a dual 2ghz G5 tower running 10.4.11. 2GB of RAM. DVD Studio Pro is 4.2.1. When burning a DVD it goes through the process but when it gets to "Writing files" the following error pops up: "The recording device reported the media error: L-EC uncorrectable error. (0x11, 0x05.)"
I'm burning to a Memorex dvd-r 16x 4.7gb
The dvd burner in the tower is a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-106D
So what does the error code mean? Is there any way to fix the error code? I've heard that the actual dvd can be the culprit. The burner itself works fine aside from Studio Pro, it still reads and plays DVDs. Please Help!!! Thank you all for your time!

I've had issues with burning DVDs for ages and have a 3" stack of irridescent coasters to show for it . I recently stopped getting the error msg , "Multiplexer error : failed to write etc." after deleting the encoded asstes from Advanced tab and then I started getting this L-EC Uncorrectable jazz in both iDVD and Toast (even when burned at 1x) . There HAS to be some file somewhere throwing off these programmes . I also wonder why the programmers write error messages decipherable only to those with a Phd. in computer science . Besides , if it's all just 1s and 0s , how is it "uncorrectable" ?

Device error detected

When I try to find out what is a problem with my printer, I get the message Device error detected. I cannot find out how to correct it. There are no suggestions as to how to correct this.
