Undeliverable message

My email is setup on BIS to receive mail from corporate mail server....not enterprise server.  These messages keep showing up in BB inbox, but not in Outlook 2003 on PC.
'[email protected]'...could not deliver the message in the time limit specified
I'm getting these quite often.  Is there a configuration problem relating to redirect?

watch out.
corporate email = enterprise email
as opposed to personal email and device.

No, you can stop using the account, but you cannot delete it.

Sorry for posting in such an old thread, but I have a similar issue:
We have a mailing list account that receives thousands of Undeliverable messages every day.
Could I use ECS to tell Exchange to Reject Messages From "MicrosoftExchange[long string]@domain.com?
What would happen to the Undeliverable messages? Are there any problems with this?
    Thank you!
    -R
Edit: that solution did not block the DSNs.
I also tried creating a transport rule to delete all e-mail going to that account, but that only worked for personal e-mails, not DSNs.
One solution I was able to come up with was to set a mail rule that sends everything to a subfolder. This will prevent the mailbox from hitting the "100,000 items in critical path folders" best practice.
The second solution I am testing is to create a Mailbox Retention Policy to permanently delete all items older than 7 days.

  • UTL_SMTP redirect undeliverable messages to a different address

    Hi everyone,
I am using UTL_SMTP to send out email messages. The email address I am sending this from is a high profile address and he does not want to receive bounce back message about underliberable email.
Is there functionality n UTL_SMTP to re-direct these underliverable messages to a different email address?
    Thanks

Once an email is sent via Oracle it goes to an SMTP server (email server) from where it get's sent on to the destination email server to attempt delivery.
If an address is undeliverable, the message comes back to the sending email server from where the owner of the address can see the message.
Nothing comes back from the mail server to Oracle and there's no way it can. Once Oracle has sent the message outbound to the mail server it's no longer anything to do with Oracle (you will know this because your procedure will return control to the next line of code etc.) Whether an email address is undeliverable or not isn't something that is known until the destination email server receives the message or after several attempts by the sending server etc., and that could take a matter of minutes, hours, or even days before it's known. You can't expect the email server to somehow report that back to Oracle.
    So, options are...
Provide a sender email address in your message that isn't this persons email address, so anything coming back goes somewhere else (or automatically in a trashcan), or
Set up mailbox rules on this persons email account so that any "undeliverable" messages automatically get put to a certain folder, or deleted or whatever.
The issue needs resolving at the email server side of things, not Oracle.

User reported undeliverable messages, sent to external email addresses.  All bounced back messages have the same notification message:
"This message could not be sent. Try sending the message again later, or contact your network administrator. The client operation failed. Error is [0x80040107-0x80040107-0x000501]"

  • Exchange 2007 when sending a calendar invite, a non-existent delegate shows up in an undeliverable message

I had a test user that was removed. When it was removed, it was still listed as a delegate on someone's email. Now, whenever a Calendar invite is sent to the existing user, the sender receives an undeliverable message. The existing user does not receive
notification of a calendar event, but the event does show up in the calendar.

    Hi,
If the delegate user account or mailbox has been removed from domain or Exchange server, please also remove the delegate settings with this account.
If a user is set as a delegate for a manager, the meeting request which is send to the Manager would be forwarded to the delegate automatically and ask for approving in the delegate side.
Please do the following steps in the Manager’s Outlook client to remove the delegate settings for this non-existent delegate:
    1. Open the Manager’s Outlook.
    2. Click File > Account Settings > Delegate Access.
    3. In the Delegate list, click the non-existent delegate, click Remove.
    4. Click OK to save the settings.
Then check whether the issue persists.

Is it possible to activate a Content Filter for mails with characters like this:Новинка на рынке баз данных
How could I create a filter-combination with 'undeliverable-messages' and foreign characters like the above one?

Could you please tell me some practical advantages/disadvantages about "bounce verification"?
The advantage is easy - you'll never get a bounce for a message that didn't actually originate from your network. Only bounces that are for a message that passed through one of your IronPort's on the way out will be allowed back into the network. This means that real bounces still make it, but bounce spam/etc don't.
There are a few disadvantages, which can basically be put into two categories. These may or may not effect you - it just depends on your environment.
The first is that for BV to work, all mail from your domain needs to go out through your IronPorts. For most companies this shouldn't be an issue - you really dont want your staff sending email "from" your company, but originating outside of your network. For an ISP or the like this is different, and much harder to enforce. Outgoing mail that doesn't go through the IronPort's will still work - but if it bounces then the bounce will be blocked as invalid.
The second problem is that although BV is fully RFC compliant in what it does, some remote hosts have issues with how it's implemented. Generally these are very few and far between, and can be handled relatively easily with a whitelist. Unfortunately there's very little IronPort can do for these corner-cases as the problem is isn't on our end - it's on the remote end.
All of this presumes that the message is actually a "bounce" (ie, an NDR). If it's just a normal message that is made to look like a bounce then BV doesn't help - but in that case you should be forwarding the message through to [email protected] so that we can write a rule and get it pushed out.

I send out a news letter for the Lions Club and involves 30 different people. Sometimes I get an undeliverable message and I don't know which address did not get delivered. How can I find out which one was not delivered so I can make sure I have all the correct data.

  • Exchange "Undeliverable" messages not showing

    Hi
I use Mail to access my employer's Exchange server. It works pretty well except for one problem. If I send an email to a full mailbox, then the Exchange system sends me back a message saying it was Undeliverable. I can see these messages quite clearly when I use Outlook, but they just don't show up in Mail! Even stranger, I know when such a message has arrived because Mail's unread message counter clicks up by one, but then goes back down again when I click on the In Box folder.
I've checked my connection and spam killer settings but I can't see anything wrong.
    Help please!
    Bob

    Hi,
As what Andy says, it is by design that to avoid poor performance in Exchange Server, the default Get-MailboxStatistics cmdlet does not retrieve the mailbox quotas and does not display a value in the
    StorageLimitStatus field.
If you want to check the mailbox which is reached to mailbox quota and receive the quota warning, we can try the following command, for example:
    Get-MailboxStatistics winnie2 | fl *quota*,*size*
If the TotalItemsSize value is bigger than DatabaseIssueWarningQuota value, this mailbox user would receive the quota warning messages.
If you want to know the mailbox status for the whole database, we can compare the TotalItemSize value with DatabaseIssueWarningQuota value in the following command results:
    Get-MailboxStatistics -Database "Mailbox Database 1294421375" | ft displayname,*quota*,*size

  • Undeliverable Messages Coming Back Randomly

Just in the last week, we've had a handful of users receive bounce back messages saying they were not delivered. Generally, it will tell you what the issue is (user does not exist, attachment too large, etc.) but this one is no help. It is happening to internal
and external emails. If the user gets the bounce back, closes Outlook, reopens Outlook and then tries sending it, it seems to go through. Below is the error in the Undeliverable reply. I don't see any errors in the Event Viewer on the Exchange Server. I've
rebooted it but we're still having it occur.

  • Apple mail: Undeliverable messages - that haven't been sent. Is it a virus?

Has my Mac caught something nasty in my absence??
No. See my [Mac Virus guide|http://www.reedcorner.net/thomas/guides/macvirus> to learn more about why that is not the case.
Any advice about how to stop this?
Get rid of the home-made Mail rule you used for your vacation message and don't use it again. As Roger says, your rule created an "infinite mail loop" somehow.

  • Many undeliverable messages I didn't send

I received a bunch of undeliverable mail messages early this morning. I never sent out a mass email message. It appears the email sent under my address was regarding pharmaceuticals....did someone hack me? What can I do to make sure this doesn't happen again?

It's unlikely your address book has been hacked. It's simply that spammers have picked up your email address from somewhere and are forging it as the 'From' address on their spam. When the spam hits servers that reject it it lands back up with you are a result. It's a very common problem.
Unfortunately there's nothing you can do except wait it out: it will probably stop after a bit as they move on to another forged address. It's a nuisance, but it's nothing to worry about. Just delete and ignore. Don't try responding or taking any action, it will either have no effect or make matters worse.

  • Office 2013 system administrator Undeliverable messages, only on 2013 NOT 2010

Some of users who are using Outlook 2013 and receiving these messages when trying to send emails. It doesn't matter if they type out the address, find from an address book, or just reply to a message. Outlook 2010 does not have this issue. The diagnostic
    message reads:
    Diagnostic information for administrators:
    Generating server:
    /O=*domain*-EXC/OU=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=*username*
    # #EX#
Have tried repairing profiles, deleting and recreating profiles, checking for Office updates....

    Hi there,
I think the issue you are having is with the LegacyExchangeDN attribute. The legacyExchangeDN value is set when a mailbox is created, and includes the name of the Exchange administrative group where the mailbox belongs. LegacyExchangeDN values typically
    look like this:
    /o=Organisation/ou=Administrative Group/cn= Recipients/cn=Username
This problem occurs because while the Outlook auto-complete cache stores SMTP addresses for e-mail sent to external addresses, it uses X.500 addresses for e-mail sent to addresses within the Exchange organisation. Even though we had given the user account
all the old SMTP addresses, the old X.500 address which Outlook was sending to was missing, and this was causing Exchange to reject the messages.
Please try to add the old legacyExchangeDN X.500 address to the new mailbox as a proxy address.  You can add an X.500 proxy address through the Exchange Management Console, or the Exchange Management Shell.

    Hi Shiloh,
According to your description, my understanding is that you send a message to external user(@xxx.com) fail.
Before going further, I'd like to ask the following question to narrow down the issue:
    1. Could you send message to any other external user except xxx.com? like google.com,outlook.com.
    2. Try to disable or bypass Transport Scanning in Forefront Protection 2010 and check if any helps.
You can refer to the following article to disable or bypass FPE:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/407.how-to-disable-or-bypass-transport-scanning-in-forefront-protection-2010-for-exchange-server-fpe.aspx

  • Undeliverable message from Access desktop app

I'm developing a desktop app and it seems to work. The recipients are receiving the message, but I'm still getting this message to the sender's email account:
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
          Subject:    Happy Birthday
          Sent: 5/25/2014 4:09 PM
The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:
'[email protected]' on 5/25/2014 4:09 PM
                Server error: 'Invalid recipient'
That is the full message. Anyone have an idea what is happening here?

    Hi,
Does this issue happen to all recipients or a certain one?
Please try to send emails to the recipient directly from Outlook (not through the desktop app), and then check if this issue continues.
In addition, please check if this KB article applies:
