iphone 3G setting as ENGLISH as default language.
i have certain friends sending Chinese (Traditional - BIG5) email to me, the iphone mail app cannot encode it for reading, it became the symbol code, etc... is there a setting which I can preset the coding of message similar to desktop Mail client, thanks?

Email has no Show under MAIL?

In my new iPhone 5c, in settings -> Mails, Contacts, Calendars -> there is no Show under MAIL so I can't set how many mails that can be shown. Why is it gone?

Lord K. Thank you. Yes I am within the 90 time period, however I travel Intertionally and I can not receive not make a call to Apple. I was just at the Genius Bar in Chicago and they said, don't worry about it. It just floats out there, however, I can not recover my messages on a flash drive. I need to go back to my old computer which I don't have with me. My messages were in folders for a lawsuit. It is going to take an incredible amount of work for me to, you have no Idea. We are talking thousands of pages! I the defendent will have them during discovery so I am not so worried. However, I can not bring them to him on a Flashdrive when I meet with him without an extraordinary amount of presssure on my part. THis is not just some little email issue. In Mac OS X Mail some emails are not displaying the correct font size.

I have set my Mail to display email messages (Inbox) to Courier 13 point (easy to read) and most messages are displayed that way, however I often get emails that are displayed in unreadably small and often colored type. I don't understand why this is ... could someone explain how to fix this? Thanx.

The email was probably sent from Outlook as RTF or HTML. You can tell Mail to display those as plain text as well by opening Terminal and typing this command (quit Mail first):
defaults write com.apple.mail PreferPlainText -bool TRUE

Some chinese words problem in Javamail via MS Exchange Server

Dear All
I have a Javamail problem.
When I use Javamail to send email via MS Exchange Server, there are some chinese words will become corrupt code and not all chinese words. i.e ("��", The code in big5 is "F9 D6").
If I use Javamail + Linux SendMail, this problem will not happen. All chinese words will display correctly by the same program. Anybody else know why and how to resolve it?

clearly looks like an MS Exchange problem to me. May be they are not encoding the 8 bit data properly? So, you are using MS Exchange to send it and which client do you use to read the mail sent?

Why can't some Hotmail emails be deleted from phone?

I can't delete some Hotmail emails from my iPhone (iPhone 5, iOS6.1.4). It doesn't happen with all Hotmail emails. It appears that this only happens with Hotmail emails that have been on the iPhone, opened on the iPhone but not deleted via the iPhone, and then deleted via my computer by accessing my Hotmail account. The emails remain in the Hotmail account on the iPhone and when I try to delete them, via "edit" and deleting selected or swiping and choosing "delete," I receive an error pop up that says "Unable to Move Messages The message could not be moved to the mailbox Trash." The email will temporarily be removed, but it will then reappear. Anyone have a clue on how to fix this? Thanks.

Note: This should not affect MobileMe accounts.
Resolution
To resolve this issue go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > [affected account name] > Advanced > Deleted Mailbox on iPhone or iPod touch.
If "On the Server" is an option, select Trash below that (or select Deleted Items or Deleted Messages). Otherwise, select Trash located under "On My iPhone". Once the Deleted Mailbox has been set, tap Advanced and then press the Home button to return the Home screen.
If the Deleted Mailbox is already set to Trash, please follow these steps:
Tap another folder such as Spam under the "On the Server" section
Tap Advanced.
Tap Deleted Mailbox, then set it to Trash located under On My iPhone.
Tap Advanced.
Press the Home button to return to the Home screen.

Tip - delete any email address code in the Insert email link prior to use!

I have been using the email link for a while now. I know its not secure, but in certain cases it can be used - I think.
Today I found a strange problem.
I have a recordset with lots of email addresses in it which are shown on an encrypted password and userlevel protected page.
The idea is to allow users with fully authorised access to the page to be able to email the other users by clicking on a link and opening their email client.
The email addresses are displayed as follows on the page:

So after highlighting and copying the php code, I click on the insert email link in the insert menu.
The insert panel comes up with some code in the email link field without me paying any attention to it.
I paste my code into the text part of the link panel.
It comes up with the following code:
<td><a href="mailto:<?php echo $row_joinupset['mail']; ?>"><?php echo htmlentities($row_clubedit['club_chair_email'], ENT_COMPAT, 'utf-8'); ?></a></td>
Note that thre are now two different recordsets in the email address.These recordsets do exist on the page, but I did not insert the $row_joinupset['mail'] into the code - Dreamweaver did it.
Checking further, I find that earlier on the page I had created an email link by the same method using the joinupset recordset. The insert Email Link panel had not cleared the old email address from it's cache, so all the email adresses after the first one pointed to the same email address.
Because the page showed the correct email address, I did not notice until I tested my code, and found that every one called up the first email address.
I do not know if this is a bug in Dreamweaver, or why it happens, but it does.
Tip - delete any code in the email adress field of the insert panel prior to inserting the correct email address code.
CS5.5 on a 64 bit win 7 machine.

I have gone though this process yesterday and worked for me.
I would suggest you to have following things handy before calling Apple
1. Serial number of apple device which is associated with ur apple id
2. At least one answer to your old security questions
3. And you should be logged on to my account page of apple Id so that when customer care demands generation of 4 digit code you can do it.
This complete process is very simple but may take some time but apple guy was very helpful in my case.
Also remember the answers to the security questions are case sensitive.

For the error code, what is the detailed error messages? How we configured the Internet Connection, using any proxy settings?
Further, if this is related with some Windows update (could you please have a share with the KB number?), we may consider to temporary uninstall that update, or take a system restore.

I don't know how rare this is. I went a week or so without a problem, and now it's starting to recur. Also, in some instances, an email will look unsent (remain in the outbox on the Treo), but it has been sent, and recipients are replying while I'm trying to figure out what is going on. Further, it will send the same email over and over during this madness.
This is a show stopper. If there isn't a software fix soon, I may chuck this phone in the garbage.

UPDATE: The problem comes and goes. The next day, no changes to the treo, everything workeds. Now i'm suspecting the sprint server, and how it/the phone responds from failing to send while roaming. I've since turned off roaming, and haven't had a problem for several days.

My company set up a Icloud account under their help desk email but i dont have the password to fix it so i need to be able to change the Icloud apple id to my email address but it wont let me because found my Ipad is turned on and cant change?

If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID and that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details and some other circumstances.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device. It may take a short while to remove the account.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

When I tried to create and apple id using my gmail account i found that somebody has already created an apple id using my gmail id. So I gave forgot password option and reset the password of the id. But for resetting the security questions, link is going to some other email id which is created by the other guy. Now the problem is that the other guy also can reset my password and access my account.
I contacted apple customer care and they are not ready to help me saying that I need to give information about the last device I logged in using this id. How can I give it when I did not create it?:) Also they are saying this account has been verified and that could happen only if someone has hacked my gmail account and verified the id using the link sent by apple.
Later I did some experiments and found that this is a security flaw from apple. Somebody has created the id and never used it(I tried to loggin to icloud and it was saying this account was not used it any apple device). The account became verified when I reset the password.(This is a bug, account should be verified only when we click on the verification link sent by apple).
The other mistake apple did is that they allotted my gmail account to someone before it's verified eventhough it cannot be used unless verified. Actually apple should allot the account id only after verifying the email address.
Apple customer care is not ready to help and I am tired of fighting with them. Can any of you guys suggest any means of getting back my gmail id to use it as apple id?

I don't think you're going to be able to. I would guess the other person used your address by accident, and when he found he couldn't access the account (because you'd changed the password) he abandoned it. Your GMail address is now locked to that account and even if it was changed you can't use it to create another.
You already have an Apple ID, which you use to log in here; you can use that to create an iCloud account if that's what you are trying to do. If you want to create a different Apple ID just get another free address such as a Yahoo one.

Logon failed, with some Chinese description

Dears,
We are running the SAP Crystal Reports 2011 client (on a Windows PC) to
built reports on DB tables residing on ERP ECC 6.0 EhP5 system,
installed on IBM Power System i V7R1.
Going through the necessary steps after starting the Crystal Reports
client :
Report Wizard -> Create New Connection -> SAP Table, Cluster, or
Function, I get a list of all the SAP systems, which are configured in
the conventional SAP GUI installed on the Windows PC (730, patch level 1).
After choosing the ERP PRO system for example, I receive a dialog
through which I enter the client no., user & password.
When I click the 'Finish' button, I get a dialog depicting two lines :
The first line = 'Logon failed.'
The second line = 'Details:...' then a sequence of some Chinese (I
asssume) characters !
Kindly advise on how to solve this problem.
(Note : please find below a screen shot depicting the last dialog encountered.)

Right Click on the entry of interest among the list of entries in SAP GUI, select 'Properties', click the 'Code Page' tab, select the 'Default' option in the drop down list labeled : 'Language'
( The previous option chosen in the drop down list was 'English')
