i configure a 802.1Q trunk between 3750 and a summit7i extreme. The show controller ethernet-controller command show that the counter of undersize frame progress regularly. EDP on extreme is off for the ports, also for spanning-tree

It sounds like it could be a duplex problem. A switch-to-switch connection should be able to run at the fastest speed that the ports have in common, and should be full duplex for maximum performance.
Undersize packets normally come from collisions in the form of fragments (undersize packets with bad CRC); there shouldn't be any collisions on a full duplex connection, though.
It could also be that if the Extreme switch is sending undersize packets with good CRC then maybe the software on the Extreme switch needs updating.
What kind of ports are you using to connect the Cisco Catalyst 3750 to the Extreme Summit7i? What speed and duplex does each side of the link report? Is one side set to autonegotiate, and the other set manually to a fixed speed and/or duplex? What's the distance between the ports? And the media being used: copper UTP, multimode fiber, or single-mode fiber?
If copper (RJ45 connector) on the Extreme switch, it could be to either a Gigabit-only Ethernet GBIC; or built-in autonegotiating 100/1000BASE-T, depending on the model number of the switch. On the Cisco switch, it could be 10/100 or 10/100/1000 depending on the switch model, or 1000-only if you're using the 1000BASE-T SFP.
If fiber (SC or MT-RJ connectors) on the Extreme switch, I don't recall whether their Gigabit-only fiber ports give you the option of what duplex you run. But the Cisco switch's Gigabit-only fiber ports always run in full duplex mode only.
Whatever ports you're using, the actual connection speed and duplex on each end of the switch-to-switch link need to match. Either both ends autonegotiate to matching values; or you need to manually set these values.

Catalyst Express 500 complains about undersize frames

Hi,
The exact switch model is WS-CE500-24PC.
It claims, that devices connected to its ports are generating undersize frames. The connected devices are IP phones with PCs. Moreover I've got messages about undersize frames on Gigabit ports, which are configured as GigaChannel and are connected to another WS-CE500-24PC. The interface counters are showing, that a lot of undersize frames are received, not send. I think, that such big count of undersize frames severely degrades the performance of the switch. Is there any way to diagnose this problem?
PS When the same endpoints are connected to a "normal" switch, like 2950 or 3500, there is no any problematic frames counted in the output of the "sh controllers ethernet-controller" command.

When the switch receives a 60-63-byte dot.1q encapsulated frame, it counts it as an undersize frame, but it will forward the frame correctly. There is not workaround for this issue, since the problem is not in the switch, the switch is only reporting that it is receiving this frames in the interface, the frames are generated by the connected device and not by the switch. If you do not experience network connectivity issues in the interface reporting this issue I believe that the issue can be consider as a cosmetic.

LOOP_BACK message on fiber uplink connect to Extreme switch

I have a network where 2960X switches, one in each closet, are connected to an Extreme core switch. The fiber uplink of each 2960X is connected via an 802.1q trunk with VLAN 1 as the native VLAN. The Extreme switch is set to not tag VLAN 1. The Extreme switch is pruned to basically only send the untagged VLAN 1 and another tagged VLAN. Unfortunately, this network admin is using VLAN 1 as the mgmt network and has VLAN 1's SVI assigned an IP address in the 10.X.X.X/16 range.
we keep getting a LOOP_BACK message on the finer uplink of the 2960X switch which then goes into errdisable mode. Loopbacks are supposed to be disabled by default on fiber ports, but there is a bug in this code of 2960X IOS that send them anyways. I have disabled the ability for the 2960X to errdisable the uplink with the "no errdisable detect loopback" command. The network now stays running, but we keep getting the message. A new code is going to be released soon to fix this bug.
I am telling the admin that the message indicates a larger issue within the network, probably a loop. Has anyone run into this issue when connecting Cisco switches to Extreme switches? I have read some stuff on PVST+ not being a great solution on Extreme switches. It seems you can enable it, but VLAN 1 and the untagged VLAN are not supported. I am trying to figure out how I can possibly be receiving my loopback packet back on my uplink port.
I am going to suggest a great number of design changes to this network (not using VLAN1, MST, L3 links across the core) next week during a meeting, but I am hoping there is an Extreme wiz out there that could help me understand some caveats to connecting Extreme switches to Cisco switches. I have connected Extreme to Cisco is the past and have seen STP incompatibility issues but since it was a long time ago I can't remember what was the problem. Can you provide a diagram of your network?

The WAN port on the A1034 will handle up to a 100 Mbps Internet connection, so you are OK there.
Wireless on the A1034 is limited to 54 Mbps tops, so things should work OK as long as wireless devices can receive a strong wireless signal from the Apple router.

802.1x Authentication in Extreme architecture

Objectives :
Authenticate a supplicant on a Extreme 802.1x port with an ACS SE 4.2
Supplicant = IP Phone
Authenticator : Switch Extreme 450 E
Authentication Server : ACS SE 1113 4.2.0.124.9
1) We have done the tests with a Windows ACS 4.2.0.124 and everything runs correctly, the supplicant authenticates without any problem.
2)We have replicate the windows ACS with the ACS SE. The 802.1x authentication does not work with the ACS SE but works with the Windows ACS.
3) We have upload UDvs and VSA on the ACS SE and it still not work.

The message in ACS Failed Attemps logs is : "Bad Request from NAS".
We have verified the authenticator address and the secret key, everything is ok.
With Windows ACS we can see first an "access request" between authenticator and aurthentication server. Next an "access challenge" from authentication server to Authenticator. NExt an "access request" between authenticator and aurthentication server and then an "access Accept" from authentication server to Authenticator.
With ACS SE we can see first an "access request" between authenticator and aurthentication server. Next an "access Reject" from authentication server to Authenticator.
We have tried to understand the differences between the first "access request" in ACS windows architecture and the first "access request" in ACS SE architecture. The only difference is on the Message-authenticator(80).
Have you already had this kind of problem. How can i Solve it?

The Supplicant only use EAP MD5 since it is a Ip phone.
EAP MD5 is already checked in Global authentication Setup.
Just for remember :
802.1x runs in a Windows Version but not in a SE version with same configuration (we have done the test with a replication from Windows version to Appliance SE version. Both ACS version have the same configuration but one is running and not the other.

I want to take an image that's from my files, no cropped and be able to set up action(s) where I can drop that image behind an 8x10 frame overlay, then the same with a 5x7 frame overlay, then the same image behind a memory mate overlay that's an 8x10 size

So is there a way to do this using the images right from the camera, where I don't have to crop three different sized images and drag them into the overlays? I can set up an action for each, but cropping the same image 3x is a pain in the ***..!

There are. I did not write you need to learn scripting and write your own scripts. As I wrote most Photoshop will never write a script. However I would write every Photoshop user will at times use a Photoshop script to do some automated process for them.
I wrote the it would be very hard to do what you want to do would a straight Photoshop action. Actions on their own can not use logic. An action would need to to it by brute force.
However in Photoshop CC Adobe added conditional action support. With this support it is now possible to create a group of actions to process some conditions. Like you can separate Landscape from portraits have an Action for processing landscape images and an other for processing portrait images.
Size is still hard to deal with for you can have landscape's the are extremely wide to landscapes that are square and portraits the are extremely narrow to those that are almost square.
Image the extreme aspect ratio will not fill a 8:10 or 5:7 area it resized to 10 and 7 and creating crops the have 8"10 and 5:7 will have images compositions where most of your image content has been discarded.
Camera images do not have extreme aspect ratio the usually have 3:2 or 4:3 aspect ratios there are exceptions. When you have print made the are 5x7 and 8x10 by printers the prints you receive from the printers are center crops from your image files.
It is very easy to make center crops if aree images have the same aspect ratio and orientation to begin with. Now with CC you can have seperate actions to the two orientations.
A general solution would need handle arbitrary aspect ratios the resulting center crop may well not have a satisfactory image composition for source image with extreme aspect ratios.

Hello Fellas.
Is it possible to carry FabricPath vlan on 802.1q Trunk link on N7k ? If I would configure one interface in Fabricpath mode, other one in Trunk. Will I be able to forward traffic between this two ports?

That would not be possible.
Think of it this way, 802.1q among other things is an encapsulation mechanism so is Fabricpath. You cannot pass frames between 2 disparate encapsulation techniques.

3750g-Routing kills 802.1q trunk

I don't know how much help you guys can be, but here goes.
I have a procurve 4104gl that is using 802.1q to connect to my Cat 3750g
All things are good when the 3750g is in L2 mode. My 3750g can ping the 4104gl ip of 10.120.255.11 and the 3750's vlans ips (Vlan255=255.1,Vl254-254.1), 252.1, 253.1 and 254.1 can ping 255.11 using extended ping.
I activate routing on the 3750g via:
config t
ip routing
and no interface can ping the procurve with extended ping and only my 255.1 interface can ping the procurve ip of 255.11
Trunk is still "up" according the the 3750g went the routing is enabled. So not losing my 802.1q trunk.
If I remove the "routing" from the 3750g, all connectivity is back to normal.

Here is the weird thing.
I can take 3750 do a "no ip routing" to turn off routing.
have 4 vlans setup
10.120.255.3 /24 Hsrp is .1
10.102.252.3 /24 hsrp is .1
I plug laptop into the L2 vlan is is 10.120.252.250
have a hub pluged into vlan 252 just to bring up the vlan for pings.
And the laptop with dfg 252.1 can ping the 10.120.255.1 interface on the switch.
Yep, the 252 interface has "switchport access vlan 252" on my g1/0/2 interface
g1/0/12 has switchport access vlan 255 in it.
Enabling IP routing does the same thing, pings are good.
so, in short I can ping from laptop on vlan 252 to my switchs vlan 255 interface in L2 mode.

I simply wanted to know if it's possible to have 802.1x authentication with MAC OSx on ACS Plateform 4.1?
If yes, what pre-required on ACS and MAC OSx? Methods of authentification which are recommended ?
I'm sorry, but i don't find documents which show validated test on 802.1x implementation method on ACS 4.1 with MAC OSx supplicant.

802.1x RADIUS with EAP-TLS/EAP-TTLS & Dynamic VLAN Assignment

Hello, My team is looking for switches supporting 802.1x authentication on either EAP-TTLS or EAP-TLS protocols with dynamic vlan assignment enabled for these. Looking at the data sheets of the Linksys desktop switches, I found only SLM224G4PS and SLM224G4S models to support EAP-TLS or EAP-TTLS. Am I right? Do they support Dynamic VLAN Assigment for either of those protocols? This is not explicitly mentioned in the data sheets, and I happen to find switches from other manufacturers that announce to support EAP-TLS/EAP-TTLS but no dynamic vlan assignment. Thank you for any help.

SLM switches do support 802.1x RADIUS with EAP-TLS/EAP-TTLS unlike the SRW switches which support MD5. But I don't think that they support Dynamic VLAN.

802.1X Authentication with InTouch

Dear Community,
does anybody know if/when it's possible to use 802.1X authentication with the TelePresence InTouch 10?
It perfectly works on the C/SX codecs and as long as the Panels are connected directly to the Codec, there is no issue. But on some codecs, direct pairing is not possible and therefore I would need 802.1X authentication from the panels itself.
