Understanding the "find" function in the browser......

Hi I am working on a large project. I have 40 tapes of B-roll, and more to come. I have organised the clips by there tape name because they contain the date and camera info in them. ex: NC0422A01, my clips look like this NC0422A01_01, The _01 indictaes it is the first clip from the tape. My problem is that all of the info about what is on the clip is in the log note and that looks like this:
STILL_ON COAST_CU OF COOL BOAT W/MOUNTAIN IN BACK GROUND
So as i have cut each tape down into it different shots, some moving, some still, some abstract, some of water, people, places, sunsets, and on and on.
I was hopeing that When i need a moving shot of a mountain I could type into the finder "mountain", and then with those results look for moving. When i type in "mountain" now in get nothing back. does anyone else out there organise there projects in this way and what do you do locate specific types of images form your clips?

if i enter a word I know is "contained" in log notes and FCP doesn't find it what can i assume about there search
well if you're absolutely sure of it, then you can assume there is a glitch in your system/installation ... or even, heaven forbid, a bug (or maybe just a spelling mistake!)
for what its worth, i cannot reproduce your bug... doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

thats because you are searching for the text g-o-o-d, not for those shots you 'marked' as good ... for that you need to search, specifically, the column "Good (Y/N)" , the clue is in the (Y/N) that is appended to the column name, so you would search for "Good (Y/N)" "contains" "y"

You can also check if the issue occurs in
Clean Boot. If the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, you can continue to narrow down which entry is causing the issue.
Besides, uninstall it and re-download
a fresh copy of FireFox to check the result. If the issue still exists, create a new user account to see if it occurs.
If the issue persists, you can contact Mozilla Support directly and use Internet Explorer (IE) during the time.

The Firefox find function seems to have become CAPS or non-caps specific, so that typing a word in non-caps will not find matching words with one or more capital letter.

The find function seems to have changed in Firefox. Before, when doing a (CTRL + F) find, the search was not CAPS-specific or non-caps-specific. In other words, if I typed in "firefox" (no caps), it would find the words "firefox", Firefox", or "FIREFOX", regardless of capitalization. Now, however, the find function will only match the exact same capitalization. This totally undermines the usefulness of the function, and is a major hassle. Please fix it.

- the BBP_ALERT_SB_NOTTRANSFERED is used for (re)create the alert entries into the alert monitor (the browser variant of the transaction RZ20) for the SCs with the status I1111
- In the alert monitor the administrator has the possiblilty to retransfer or delete the selected items. The BBP_REQREQ_RESUBMIT is called when the administrator decides for retransfering the item from the alert monitor.
- The BBP_REQREQ_TRANSFER is a general function, which calls the BBP_PD_SC_TRANSFER
- The BBP_PD_SC_TRANSFER is the 'normal' way for transfering the follow-on documents into the backend system in case of classic scenario.
If you would like to debug the SC transfer, use the BBP_PD_SC_TRANSFER.

Open AirPort Utility. The first screen looks something like this:
Click on the AirPort Extreme and another screen will appear. Click Edit, then the window with the Wireless tab will appear.
If you do not see these screens, you will need to start over and configure your AirPort again.

Ive uploaded firefox 4 and now I cant access messenger from the browser, it say unavailable, but it works as a stand alone prog.. cant find a setting to reactivate.. Please advise TY!

Im on Win 7 Ultimate and had Firefox working fine with messenger in the browser & could use the pop up chat box. Since the upload I get the message that messenger is currently not available, but it works fine when I activate it as a stand alone prog. but I want it back in my browser.. cant find any setting or pref. to activate it... have cleared cache and history, restarted, even reloaded a messenger from Windows essencials.. no difference.. it been like this for 5 days since the update.. anyone got a solution? thanks alot for your help.

How can I use the "EvalScript()" function? I am trying to send text to a Director app from the web browser, but the console in the browser just responds "Uncaught ReferenceError: evalScript is not defined ".

I am trying to control a Shockwave app form another machine, using "Pusher" service (websockets), and everything is ok so far; but when I try to send the shockwave app the text recieved from another machine, using the "EvalScript()" function (as documented), I only get the message "Uncaught ReferenceError: evalScript is not defined" in the browser's console. What am I doing wrong?

The "alert" is working fine, but I can't get JavaScript to recognize the EvalScript (I even tried calling the shockwave object, ie: "extev01.evalScript()", since the object's ID is extev01, but it doesn't work, either).

I tried your suggestion first, using getNetText to poll the server and read a text file. The drawbak is that I had to poll the server constantly, since I could not know in advance when the text file was going to change (and it's not practical to stump the server and connection).
I've kept trying the EvalScript, asigning the Shockwave object to a variable first, then calling the EvalScript() in the object, but it doesn't work, either. I think I will simply use JavaScript and forget about shockwave altogether, since everything is working fine up to that point (although it would be nice to be able to use Lingo for the rest of the app).

Can you find out if a clip has been used in a timeline within the browser?

i am using hundreds of clips and i don't want to use one twice - or leave one out. years ago in premiere they let you see USED CLIPS and it showed you how many times it was used and where it was within a timeline. does that feature - or something like it exist in FC?

Yep, that'll show dupe clip usage in the timeline, but to see used clips in the browser you have to specifically search for them. With the browser window active, press Cmd-F to bring up the Find window, and change the For: popup to Used Media (or Unused Media) as desired; you can limit the search to specific sequences and/or filter the search by adding multiple specific search criteria ... finally just press the Find All button.

How do I export a .dwg file so the Search/Find function can be used on it?

I have some .dwg files that my co-worker exported to PDF. It is crucial for me to have the ability to use the search or "Find" function in Reader. There are 11 different .dwg files exported into an 11 page PDF, but some of the were exported with different properties. I can search on 4 of them, but the other 7 are unsearchable. I believe my co-worker user Autodesk TrueView to export the .dwg files to PDF. So my question is what program I should use (I believe that TrueView is capable of what I am trying to do, but I'm not sure) and how should I set up the the settings before I export it to PDF. You need to contact Autodesk, almost no one here is likely to be familiar with what Autodesk can or cannot do.

Need help in finding the root cause the error 'Could not find function:'

In my workflow notification , when I click on the notification to process it , it says ' 'Could not find function:' error.
I found the this message is coming out from the Fnd_new_messages table from the message_name 'FND_FUNCTION_NOT_FOUND'.
Here are my questions ...
1. FND_FUNCTION_NOT_FOUND - Is it a oracle Seeded message ?
2. If so the error I am getting is a oracle product Bug ?
And In between , I am getting this error for few transaction only. ( out of 100 , i am getting this error at the rate of 5 per 100 ... or less)
3 .If its a oracle product bug then , how is 95 out of 100 transaction are succssfully wokring ?
4. If is a custom bug , how it os not though for some other 95 transaction ?
5. Can I expect it as Data issue ? If so what kind of data issue.
Folks , any kind of info will be really , realy helpful for me ... please let me know your inputs for me.

In the error message 'Could not find function:' after colon what function name it is giving.
'FND_FUNCTION_NOT_FOUND' is a seeded message only.
As you are saying the error was throwing only for 5% or less notifications, is the error throwing for same kind of notifications? I mean the item type and message are same for these erroneous notifications?
It can be that some function in particular type of workflow is error-ed out does not exists, when responding to those kind of notifications it might be throwing error.
Please check that.

I have no sound in Firefox, but sound does work everywhere else. The mixer on Win7 is not showing a firefox volume option. Where do I go to fix the issue and get sound on the browser, can't find any menu's for this fix.

Hey! well funny enough, After doing a Semi format (That cool function that WIN 8 has to refresh your PC) .. I could hear sounds,!!!! Yay super happy!! .... so I continued to download all my programs once again....and then today, I went to watch a movie trailler.... and I had no sound... again... but obviolusy once the Razer synapse installed, It must have something wrong with it and its not letting me hear stuff!! and I know this becasue I borrowed a headset, a Turtel Beach x12 and now I can hear stuff all the time!! YAY! .. Ive been switching between one and the other, and the Kraken dont work! Lol

How does one install non-English character sets for use with the "find" function in Acrabat Pro 11?

I have pdf files in European languages and want to be able to enter non-English characters in the "find" function. How does one install other character sets for use with Acrobat Pro XI?

Have you tried applying the update by going to Help>Updates within Photoshop Lightroom? The update should be using the same licensing? Did you perhaps customize the installation location? Finally which operating system are you using?

Acrobat 9 Find Function Needs to Highlight the found text

Searching existing documents for a word using "Find" sometimes results in the word being highlighted and sometimes only the cursor is placed at the found word with no highlight. This is a problem because the cursor is very hard to locate without highlighting.
The "Find" function should insure that found text is always highlighted.
Or maybe there is a setting for this?
(Also still waiting for a default View/Page Display to "Two Up Continous" as it constantly defaults to One Page which is a waste of the wide monitors.)

You cannot drag the effects themselves to the timeline. You add them to a clip in the Viewer, just as you have done.
If the clip was already in the timeline when you opened it in the Viewer (by double-clicking it in the timeline to open it in the Viewer) and then added the reverb effect, there is nothing further to do, you have added the effect to the clip. You don't drag it back to the timeline.
You only have to drag the clip to the timeline if the clip was not already in the timeline (for example, if you opened the clip from the FCE Browser; or set different In and Out points in a master clip to use a different portion of the master clip in a different location in your timeline).
Depending on the effect you add, you may have to render the timeline after adding the effect. But I don't think reverb requires immediate rendering. One other note, you said you were working with an audio clip ... audio clips need to be AIFF (not MP3 or something else) and preferably 16-bit stereo.

The find function (Ctl+F) , doesn't not expanding the xml file , to search for given search. If the the xml file is expanded , then find function finds the tag and data. How to fix this.
