Understanding the Router product line

I'm in the process of doing a comparison between the newer 2800 (2811 to be exact) vs. a 3725. I am finding (or atleast it appears) that it is apples to oranges. I noticed that I can find things like "packets per second" for the 3725, but the 2800 series talks about lots of slots and abilities for things like VoIP. Can someone help me to understand the difference between what they are calling an Access Router (3725 etc) and a Multi-Service Router (2800 etc..)? I consult for a wireless ISP and which has currently a 45Mbps 802.11A backbone. Right now is is a switched backbone with 2611XM's doing InterVLAN routing. We are moving to a routed network and feel we need to upgrade the routers.
Thanks

Have you looked at the Cisco Product Quick Reference Guide (QRG)? The QRG is a good place to start for comparison of the various products and product lines. See http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/752/qrg/ for access.
Generally the 2811 would be good for a T-1 or two on the WAN side and the 3725 can accommodate higher speed WAN interfaces along with higher density port cards.
The 3725 will generally have more CPU horsepower but the AIM modules available on the 2800 series may offset that advantage depnding on what services you see your environment needing to use.
The 3700 series is also more expandable via a wider selection of interface cards.
Hope this helps - please rate the post if it does.

  • What happens to the UC320 Product Line with Announcement of Linksys Sale?

Does it stay with CISCO proper or does product strategy keep it more aligned with Linksys?
    http://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2012/12/cisco-to-sell-off-linksys-division/

    Hi Dean;
I cannot speak on the announcement as there is no official communications from Cisco, and basically because I don't know.
I can however comment that UC300 product line is entirely independent from Linksys. This has been the case since 2008.

  • Process Chnage over on the same production line

    Hi PP Gurus,
I am having a scenario in process industry as below. The process line is used for producing different grades of chemicals.
When they change from one grade to another, the mateial from the pipe line is considered as a semifinished product. it is salable. How do we handle this on both Production and costing point of view.

  • Where is the 17" MBP in the new product line?

I hope that Apple plans on making a 17" MBP with the new features, including the screen and thinner and lighter like the other sizes. Otherwise that will just suck!
15.4" is nice, but 17" screen is just that much better. With the higher resolution, it would be awesome.

The death of the 17inch form factor is not a good thing. I mean who cares about having high resolution if in order to read the text you need a magnifying glass because the screen is so much smaller. This will have such a crippling effect on me that not only will I have to look to a PC solution I also have to give up my my Apple Pro Apps like 'Final Cut Studio'.
The 17inch was the perfect pro level note book for running edit software and taking on location for downloading footage directly into the system via the express card slot. It was big enough to work off without the need to carry around an additional screen.
The 15 inch is just not useable without carrying a plethora of external accessories and even then working your with a smaller screen so not as much real estate. If I want to adjust the screen settings so I do have the same amount of real estate i can add the magnifying glass to the kit. Also no audio jack in. I guess you could take audio in via USB but only 2 ports by god what a laugh and what the **** is with no ethernet port Bwahahaha. surly they could have fit one of those in. I mean at present it's the fastest most stable means of connecting and now we're asked to buy a peripheral to make it happen. what a joke.
It's a real shame and i am extremely saddened by this move. In some small way i am still praying that a 17 inch will be released later down the line because i've been using the MBP since it was released and updated it every 2 years but I won't be buying a 15" as it just doesn't suit my needs. Also no update to the Mac Pro's in years and the fact that I will have to give up Apple Pro apps for AVID  as a result of this means I will be retiring most of my Apple machines. I guess Apple just no longer has an interest in the pro market so as far as i'm concerned, "so long Apple it's been nice knowing you"

  • Performance issue: Adding a new product line to existing Quote calls pricing engine for existing line a well

    Hi All,
I need some assistance for my below query...
If there are already existing some product/quote lines on the quote and then we try to add another new product/quote line to this quote , then  it is taking more time to add the product. As per my understanding it is calling the Pricing engine for the existing line as well. How can we avoid the pricing engine call for the existing lines.
There are some parameters which we are setting as mentioned below :
l_control_rec.header_pricing_event := 'BATCH' -- What does this mean when we set to batch
    l_control_rec.price_mode := 'ENTIRE_QUOTE'; -- (possible values could be CHANGE_LINES , QUOTE_LINE)
    l_header_rec.pricing_status_indicator := 'C';
    l_control_rec.calculate_freight_charge_flag := 'Y';
    l_control_rec.calculate_tax_flag := 'Y';
    l_header_rec.tax_status_indicator := 'C';
Question :Could someone please help us with this whether is there any way with these parameters could be altered or changed to some other value ( like for PRICE_MODE we see this parameter could have some other values like : CHANGE_LINES , QUOTE_LINE etc other than ENTIRE_QUOTE).
means lets say we do the Pricing Engine call only for the Newly Added quote line but not do it for the Entire Quote again and again..
Now the other question here could be how do we finally synch the line level price values for all the quote lines upto the Quote header level in form of Totals (TOTAL_LIST_PRICE,TOTAL_TAX, TOTAL_SHIPPING_CHARGE, SURCHARGE, TOTAL_QUOTE_PRICE in aso_quote_headers_all table) ??
Also is there a way that we don't do the Freight Charge calculation and Tax calculation (means we skip this completely) while adding products to the quote but do it at a later point when doing the Submit to Order functionality.
Could someone please help with these pricing related parameters and modes to be used in order to get around this performance issue
    Thanks
    Mithun

    Dear Expert,
Activate your Controlling area as usual and Cost Centers and Profit Center , You can assign an internal order for the particular product line for what you are seeing and can collect the costs of that particular product line exclusively.

  • Understanding a route map

    Hi All,
I have just taken over supporting a network, and have come accross a route map, that I don't really understand. The route-map is copied below. Can anyone please tell me step by step how its processed, and what the outcome is?
    route-map test permit 5
     match ip address prefix-list path_one_prefer
    route-map test permit 10
     match as-path 3
    route-map test permit 20
     match ip address prefix-list route-filter
     set as-path prepend 65100
    ip prefix-list path_one_prefer seq 5 permit 10.10.0.0/16
    ip as-path access-list 3 permit _65000_
    ip prefix-list route-filter seq 10 deny 172.130.1.0/28
    ip prefix-list route-filter seq 15 deny 172.131.1.248/29
    ip prefix-list route-filter seq 20 deny 172.200.128.0/27
The route map is applied outbound towards an ebgp peer
    Many Thanks
    Russ

    Hello Russ,
Yes that is indeed the case.
    route-map test permit 20
     match ip address prefix-list route-filter
     set as-path prepend 65100
    !ip prefix-list route-filter seq 10 deny 172.130.1.0/28
    ip prefix-list route-filter seq 15 deny 172.131.1.248/29
    ip prefix-list route-filter seq 20 deny 172.200.128.0/27
In the route-map lines 20 - it is set to "match ip address prefix-list route-filter"
Since the deny is in place in the prefix list, take it as "Not these ones"
Everything else is permitted and AS-Path prepended.
After line 20 there is no other - ACL logic - explicit deny - so if there is no match, its a deny, so the prefix's in the prefix-list "route-filter" are not advertised.
This line 20 seems to be the "catch all" other routes except for these ones i.e. that prefix list, and prepend them.
Check the routes you are advertising them as I stated in my first post with "show ip bgp neigh x.x.x.x advertised-routes" which should correlate with the route-map applied to your BGP peer.
    Hope this makes it clear.

  • Performance issue adding a new product line to existing Quote pricing issue

  • Raw Material & SFG consumption required in different production lines

    Hi All,
Customer has 5 different production lines, each line will be handle by different team.
Each production line will consume the same and different combination of Raw material and SFG for different finished products.
    Customer wants to track
    1. how much of raw material and SFG is consumed for each production line.
    2. how much of Finished Product has been produced
    3. how much of material is lying at work in progress.
Please suggest, how to map this functionality.
    Regards,
    Vikram Reddy

    Dear Challa,
for this you need to create UDF with choose from list in production order where user should select the appropriate production line in each production order and then you can write simple queries for your reports based on this production line on production order

  • SCXI product line life cycle?

I don't know that this is really the right place to ask this, but does anyone know where the SCXI product line currently is in terms of lifecycle?  Is it likely that I will still be able to buy SCXI cards in, say, 10 years?
If not, is PXIe the crate of choice for long term supportability?

I was told fairly recently that NI will support SCXI through 2020.  That gives you another 5 years.  And I think that is just driver support, not necessarily being able to freely buy it.  But check with your local NI sales rep to make them look into it.
But if you are making a new system, PXIe is definately the way to go.

  • COOISPI listing wrong Production Line

We are experiencing problems with the COOISPI returning the wrong production line when selected by material only as below:
    Transaction Code: COOISPI for:
         Order Headers
         Planned Orders
         Specific Material
         Specific Prod Plant (0050)
Results show Prod: Line: 3D03 for plant 0050
Same criteria except without Production Plant entry
Results shows Prod. Line 6D01 even for the previously specified plant 0050 which is not correct. It’s 3D03 as noted above.
Is this an inherent issue with COOISPI? Does anyone know a fix?

Thanks Rupesh but the production versions at each plant have the correct values for the Production Line. It's just that the COOISPI report does not always reflect that.
If you do not enter a plant (all plants), all plants show the same Production Line. (6D01 in the case cited). This is wrong for plant 0050.
If you do enter plant 0050, the correct Production Line (3D03) is shown.
I am attaching an.xml document with detailed information and screen shots.
    Thanks Joe Goforth

  • Identifying the route a bridge is on

    Hello,
I am new to oracle spatial and have been trying to identify the route that a bridge is on. I am using the following query:
    select /*+ ordered */ distinct corrid, tbl_bdg_key
    from TIS.tis_corridor_lrs i,TIS.TIS_BRG_LOCATIONS_LRS b
    where corrid like 'I-%'
    and tbl_scour_ind is not null
    and sdo_within_distance(
    b.geometry, i.geometry,
    'distance=100 unit=meter') = 'TRUE';
There are less than 50 bridges and several thousand routes, but this query is taking about 20 minutes to run. Is there a better way to do this? The bridges are points and the routes are lines. I tried without the sdo_within_distance, but got no bridges at all. Thanks.

    Try
    select /*+ ordered */ distinct corrid, tbl_bdg_key
    from TIS.TIS_BRG_LOCATIONS_LRS b , TIS.tis_corridor_lrs i
    where corrid like 'I-%'
    and tbl_scour_ind is not null
and sdo_within_distance(i.geometry, b.geometry, 'distance=100 unit=meter') = 'TRUE'; For spatial queries, you'll usually want the smaller result set to drive the query. You do this by putting it first in the FROM and using the ORDERED hint. In your case you want to drive the query using TIS_BRG_LOCATIONS_LRS. So you want to run the sdo_within_distance operator less than 50 times (for each bridge) rather than several thousand times (for each route).

I need advise and help with this problem .
First , I have been with Mac for many years ( 14 to be exact ) I do have some knowledge and understanding of Apple product .
At the present time I'm having lots of problems with the router so I was looking in to some info , and come across one web site regarding : port forwarding , IP addresses .
In my frustration , amongst lots of open web pages tutorials and other useless information , I come across innocent looking link and software to installed called Genieo , which suppose to help with any router .
Software ask for permission to install , and about 30 % in , my instinct was telling me , there is something not right . I stop installation . Delete everything , look for any
trace in Spotlight , Library . Nothing could be find .
Now , every time I open Safari , Firefox or Chrome , it will open in my home page , but when I start looking for something in steed of Google page , there is
''search.genieo.com'' page acting like a Google . I try again to get raid of this but I can not find solution .
With more research , again using genieo.com search eng. there is lots of articles and warnings . From that I learn do not use uninstall software , because doing this will install more things where it come from.
I do have AppleCare support but its to late to phone them , so maybe there some people with knowledge , how to get this of my computer
Any help is welcome , English is my learned language , you may notice this , so I'm not that quick with the respond

Genieo definitely doesn't help with your router. It's just adware, and has no benefit to you at all. They scammed you so that they could display their ads on your computer.
    To remove it, see:
    http://www.thesafemac.com/arg-genieo/
Do not use the Genieo uninstaller!

  • Error  while giving the production line in repetitive mfg

    Hello friends,
When i am maintaining the production version in material master for repetitive mfg, and in production line when i am giving the workcenter which is in operation of rate routing, system giving me the error message that "REP01(which is my workcenter) is not maintained in plan (planning type = plant = smp1)".Message no. is CFVO90.
Though i have got the solution of this message, but i am not able to understand the solution.
Actually while creating the production version in material master, for task list data i was only maintaining the task list type, Group Number and Group counter for  Rate Based only as Rate Routing. And when i would give the workcenter which is in operation of rate routing then  system would give me the error.
Later on when i maintained the Task list type, Group Number and Group counter for Detailed scheduling, Rate Routing, and Rough cut scheduling and than maintained the workcenter in production line, system didn't give the error.
My question is as we are doing the repetitive mfg, and as we have maintained the rate routing, so why it so that in Detailed scheduling and rough cut scheduling also we have to maintain the Task list type, Group Number and Group counter.
         Plz guide.

    Hello pravin,
    Thanks for the reply.
Actually if i give the details of Task list type, Group, Group counter for Rate based scheduling only in production version and if i maintain the workcenter which i have given in the operation of Rate Rounting in production line then system is throwing the error mentioned above.
Unless and until i mention the details of Rate Routing for all i.e. Detailed scheduling, Rough cut scheduling and Rate based scheduling, system is not allowing me to save the production version.
As per your answer, even i am confused that as i have ticked the repetitive mfg in mrp 4 view and as i have given REM profile, so system should not give me the error when i only maintain the rate routing data in Rate based scheduling in production version.
Is there any other way to solve this error. If not than whats the logic behind it.
I hope u have understood my query.
