Continuation of info (from GDTGG): When I leave that mail message and click on a different one, the blank line marking its place once again appears for the message. (There was a similar problem posted by someone else in 2009 entitled "Inbox Has Blank Lines" but with no apparent solution that I could find.)

Work flow mails are not coming to inbox but coming to out box in quality

Hello,
We are working on the implementation of Work flow for Purchase orders.
Work flow customization is completed and even work flow is triggering when ever I create Purchase Order.
Even Agent assignment also completed for work flow tasks via T code PTFC_CHG.
This work flow is working fine in development.
When I moved this workflow to quality I got a problem.
Problem here is Work flow mails are not processing out of SAP Outbox to approvers inbox even also after executing the program RSWUWFML2.
When I triggered the PO in development the work item is moved to SAP out box as well as inbox. In quality It is not coming to SAP inbox.
If I check in SOST,I will not see any of the entries related to work flow mails.
Only above I can see in my SAP Outbox.
So how can I Process these messages to approvers SAP Inbox.
Any body please help me where the problem is

Hi SP,
I may be wrong, but on reading ur thread, I feel u r mis interpreting SAP Outbox with Outlook.
Is it so, because u have mentioned about RSWUWFML2 and SOST, which comes into picture only if u r using an external mail like Outlook.
If its Outlook, then there is no doubt that ur work item would get deleted from SAP Inbox and would be present only in Outlook.
If its SAP Outbox, then u r not supposed to get ur work item in ur Outbox unless it is processed or executed thru ur SAP Inbox.

Long time searcher first time question:
Some emails (in mac mail) are coming up with rows and rows of the letter A (capitalized) and in a box.
It is the weirdest thing. And no one I know has ever seen it. *** eh?

Back up all data.
Launch the Font Book application and validate all fonts. You must select the fonts in order to validate them. See the built-in help and this support article for instructions. If Font Book finds any issues, resolve them, then boot in safe mode to rebuild the font caches. Boot again as usual and test.
Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. In that case, ask for instructions.
Also note that if you deactivate or remove any built-in fonts, for instance by using a third-party font manager, the system may become unstable.

When I click send link my yahoo mail does come up BUT the link is coming up in the TO box

I am trying to send a link to my friend and when I click send link my yahoo mail DOES pop up but the link is showing in the TO box
instead of the body of the message...I have to cut and copy that and put
in the message body then put the email address in the TO box

How to delete a junk mail that keeps coming back after deleting it from the junk box?

I have a junk mail from February that I really want to delete but it keeps coming back after deleting it several times. It comes back in the junk mail as 'read'.
How should I remove it?

If the email provider is Google, try going to the gmail web portal, (log on from a computer or your iPad using safari), and manually delete the contents of your junk and trash.
I did this today, and the reappearing junk has not (as of yet) reappeared. Knocking on wood.

Thanks Davey96. Your reply took me to other web pages and I found a whole load of people with the same problem, apparently due to restrictive practices. So, I understand the problem and there doesn't seem to be a single easy solution, but it can be worked around.

In Box Mail -- Where is it?

I have gone back to Mail 1.3.11 recently after TB 1.5 kept crashing my Mac and I want to "Bounce" tons of SPAM that all of a sudden started coming in.
I left Mail originally because my InBox messages disappeared. The Junk and Trash boxes worked fine, but I could not see any InBox mail. It was coming through but disappearing some where because I could see it in the banner read.
Then there is an "!" next to my other e-mail address and different server and no InBox mail visable there either.
Mainly, I just want to be able to read my Inbox mail again.

explained why...
First things first, David.
Yes, a feature is at the top of the menu bar and a nice red stamp with "Bounce" on it.
Now it this was not to be a function of "Mail", why is it up there in plain view for any idiot to use?
Then go into Apple's "Mail" "help" on the far right of the top menu bar, and you get a nice lil promo for that function.
It reads:
"Returning unwanted email
To discourage someone from sending you email, you can reject, or "bounce" their message, as long as their return address is valid. When you bounce a message, it appears to the sender that your address is invalid. This is useful for rejecting mass mailings from companies whose mailing lists you've been added to after buying products from them.
If you use the bounce feature for unsolicited email ("spam"), the mail will come back to you as undeliverable, because the return address on spam is usually not valid.
In Mail, select the unwanted message, and choose Message > Bounce.
The sender receives a reply indicating that your email address is not valid and that the message could not be delivered. The message is moved to your deleted messages folder.
You can also create a rule that automatically deletes mail from a specific sender. Or, use the Junk Mail filter to remove messages that are likely to be junk mail. For more information about the Junk Mail filter, click "Tell me more."

Now, I favor this function over Thunderbird 1.5's function of crashing my Mac upon waking in the am and using an IED on my address book when it does.
For this reason, I am coming back to Apple's "Mail" with the nice "bounce" function instead of the wipe-out the address book function, which forces me to leave my 'puter and run out and find a whole new bunch of friends all the time.
Why are you so cranky? Earlier shift for you was Tech Support for MS "Vista" maybe?
On to fixing my mailbox. I'll let you know if that worked.

Mail messages in my In Box are not appearing in the list of messages.

Mail: SOME mail messages in my In Box are not appearing in the list of messages. Instead, there's a blank line in its place if already read, or just the blue dot if unread. But when I click on the line, the message's column/header detail appears (and I can open it).
(Coincidental or not, immediately prior to this situation, I established a New Rule that mail coming from my son's email address should be Moved to the IN Box as they had been going to Trash. None of the emails I'm questioning have any reference to his email address in them.)

Why do some e-mails show up with A's in boxes?

I just synced my two gmail accounts on my new Macbook. Some of the e-mails coming in are looking strange.. they are appearing as bunches of individual boxes with As in them. The e-mails do not look this way when I view them on my phone. Does anyone know how to fix it? One of the e-mails I've found that was affected was from another friend's smartphone (non iPhone) and the other was from a hotel advertising some new special.

Hi Chris. Thanks, for the suggestions re: my email issues. They were helpful and yes I did check all items you referenced. I even contacted Apple support and spent about 40 minutes on phone checking all settings. However, after all these efforts, my mail and calendar issues were not resolved. Apple Support finally recommended deleting the mail account and then reloading it - and it worked! I am now receiving my emails and calendar appts. in real time again.
Just wanted to share this in case anyone elest has a similar problem with mail/calendar after downloaing i.O.S. 8.1 onto iPhone 5.

Bogus emails that delete everything in the mail in box

I have receive two emails today that delete everything in my in box when I delete it.
My way round this (the second time) is to put it in the junk mail box and then delete.
Is there a way to stop this mail arriving in the first place?

I do not know a way to stop the emails from coming, other than reporting them to the abuse desk of your ISP.
However, they should not be causing such havoc, unless you have some anti-virus program installed that has quarantined, or otherwise selected the message, and wrongly included the entire Inbox. This has been known to happen when using some versions of Norton's AV with Mail and OSX.
Another thing to consider, is the history of your mailboxes, and whether some leftover files or indexes from pre-Tiger Mail use might also be at work to make the messages appear to be deleted, but they are only not displaying.
If your mailboxes originated in Panther, or earlier, I will give you some instructions about what to investigate.

Junk mail coming to iphone 5

I have spam filtered and blocked specific addresses on my mail account and they don't come to Outlook but they are all in the SPAM box on my iphone 5 ... any ideas why?

What I am saying is that I HAD filtered it out at the server level ... I had blocked specific addresses that were making it past the regular spam filtering. After doing so, they were no longer coming to my Outlook mail but were showing up in the SPAM folder of my iphone ... I think I solved it at the server level now anyway but thank you

N00b mess: Moving users without messing up E-mail from 10.5 box to 10.6 box

I have a 10.6 Xserve and a 10.5 PowerMac G5 DP from which I have migrated all of my users and their E-mail. Or so I thought.
While I did indeed successfully move the mail from the old machine to the new one, when I installed 10.6 on the new box, I chose to import users to the new machine. What it did and what I thought it would do are two different things.
What I thought it would do is move the users from the old machine to the new one, creating a new "LDAPv3/192.168.1.4" directory.
What it did is merely point the new machine at the old one so that they both have to be on. My new machine, 192.168.1.4, has a directory named "LDAPv3/192.168.1.3" and, yes, if I turn 192.168.1.3 off, 192.168.1.4 can't do jack. Users can't get E-mail, etc. Authentication fails all the way 'round, 'cept for the admin user in the Local directory, of course.
*So what I'd like to do is move my users from the old machine to the new one, but I certainly don't want to do it in such a way that Dovecot loses track of whose mail is what and that their E-mail is lost.*
I have contemplated the problem a bit and think that:
1 - Manually creating the accounts (small number of them, so not too hard) would likely destroy the linkage to the E-mail. I would think that creating a new user of the same name in a LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 directory would have different whatever-it-is that Dovecot uses to link up the E-mail.
2 - "Backup and import" (as suggested by a dialog box, but which I can't figure out how to do anyway... there IS no "Backup" command that I'm aware of) might work but, as the previous parenthetical suggests, I can't figure out how to do it anyway.
3 - "Export" and "Import" might work, except that when I tried to do that the first time I did the 10.6 install (I've done test installations several times over the past few weeks) made a mess of things and there was an Address Book error that kept popping up in the logs to which nobody has found a solution.
Sigh.

How To Hide Mail In Box & Sent Folder From 2nd User?

Hubby is a scary computer user. He knows virtually nothing so experiments by changing, deleting and re-arranging. Having disabled our computer twice with a user account I thought was parental controlled enough to prevent harm, we agreed that he would leave the computing to me (who knows a scant more than nothing). But now we are to buy a second computer so I'd like to make the iBook G4/Tiger his. His user account will let him use mail & safari (and nothing more, I hope). If I hide the credit card safari should be safe but the mail account is another matter. I've set up a rule so any messages coming to his .Mac alias go into a mailbox on his computer, but there is that "in box" sitting right there and the "sent box". It won't do any good to tell him never to touch them. He'll get turned around and... poof! Is there some way to give him access only to the messages sitting on his computer?

You don't say what type of account this is, POP or IMAP, but I'd make a new Mailbox on your Mac.
Mail>Preferences>Mailbox>New Mailbox...>On My Mac, then make a rule to move your messages to it, which will move them out of the common Inbox.
