Undesired offset with Flash object

I have a frameset with CSS attached. There are two frames - a
top frame that is used for a header and a main frame where target
pages are loaded. When previewing the page design view in DW, the
main frame is offset to the left about 10 px and I cannot figure
out why. Still, it displays properly in a browser UNTIL I place a
Flash object on any page that is targeted for the main frame, and
then the misalignment anomaly occurs in browsers (IE and Firefox)
as well. All other target pages load without offsetting to the
left.
I have searched my CSS in vain for clues.
Please point me in the right direction!

If you could post a link someone might be able to determine
why it's
happening by looking at the code.
In the meantime, you might want to consider all the negative
issues involved
with using frames.
There may be some you haven't seen or even imagined yet.
It might make the flash alignment issue a moot point.

JRC for Eclipse 2.0: Export to PDF with Flash Objects in RPT file

Hi,
We've a few reports created with Flash objects in it ( from Xcelsius). We are trying to generate the reports and export it to PDF using the new JRC for Eclipse 2.0. The exported file size is big ( 600MB) but there is no flash object or data in it. Can you please help us with this one?

I asked a similar question last September in this [thread|CR report with embedded SWF: Export to PDF displays nothing;. It's my understanding that exporting flash objects to pdf is not support in CR 2008.
In CR 2008, when I export a report containing a swf to pdf, the flash file is not rendered in Adobe Reader. It looks like there's just a picture. In fact, in CR, if you r-click on the swf and do Format Flash... | Flash, you can change the picture used for export and printing. The default picture is what I'm seeing in the pdf.
I'm creating the swf using Xcelsius 2008. In XC 2008, if I export to pdf, the flash object is rendered. Why the difference?
The same Adobe reader is being used in both cases.
I'd be glad to send an .rpt with embeded swf for you to test.

I'm seeing a frustrating issue that i'm hoping others have seen and resolved.
Here is what i'm attempting and below that is the issue:
1) I have created a ABAP program in which i'm using the HTML viewer (class: cl_gui_html_viewer ) within a container that is on one of my ABAP screens.
2) I load up a web page on our (intra)network that displays an HTML page that has a nice FLASH navigation object. This navigation object operates as such - when a node is clicked it will go to another html page (on the same network) that will then parse apart what node they clicked on and via javascript submit a form in which I've defined a SAPEVENT for.
3) My ABAP program has defined the event handler for this sap event and calls the appropriate method just fine (ON_SAPEVENT). I am able to trap the event details and do some other things.
This is all working just fine, except....I want it to then go back to the first page (original page) that contained the FLASH navigation on it upon after the page that trapped the SAPEVENT is complete automatically. Easy? - that's what I thought...I tried several different ways to do this "go_back" on the html control, "show_url" (with the original URL)...even a redirect in the actual html page itself to go back.
They all DO go back to the first page, however my flash navigation object on that page NEVER shows up! It's almost like the frontend is thinking it is already loaded and will not load it again. I thought maybe I need to do a "flush" or some such - but that didn't seem to solve it. Has anyone seen this and resolved it or knows what this is? The thing is...I can completely exit out of the program - and the flash object will load just fine (but only after I wait a minute or so). What gives...anyone know?

Problems with Flash Object in Powerpoint

I have created a Dashboard lately and exported the flash file in a portal in which few people can access.
The client need now is to integrate the flash into powerpoint. It's fine when the users of this powerpoint are same few people that have access to the portal (I created SWF object in the powerpoint where I entered the link to the flash object in it's properties). But the users can send this powerpoint to people that dosen't have access to the portal so they won't see the flash.
I don't know how to deal with this kind of situation

Thank you Amr for your reply. I have tried the option but when I view Diaporama I get a message box with this error message (I think it's because the dashbord have some connections to XML Files that are also in the portal) :

Flash objects

Hi Guys
i have flash mx 2004
i have build a html web site with flash object in it and
every time i am opening this html website and drug the mouse over
this flash object i recieve this massage "Press SPACEBAR or ENTER
to activate and use this control"
only after i am clicking on it, it becomes available
any one have any clue how to remove this frame and massage?

Flash objects appear as very small and disappear on click.

Since a few months ago, I've been having a problem with Flash objects in Firefox. They seem to only take up about a quarter of the space they are supposed to. And then, if I click on them in any way, say to control the video, they instantly go black. The audio continues, and in the case of video it still responds to the keyboard shortcuts for Flash video (eg. Spacebar for play/pause). But the video is totally gone. And nothing short of a refresh gets it back to visible.

The video and other flash things work perfectly in Safari. No problems there.
I know there is a common problem with Flash video not working properly, and I tried the fixes described there. I didn't have Real Player installed, so I just uninstalled and re-installed Flash and get the same thing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated it.

I am having problems with viewing flash plugins on websites. it seems that the firefox 5 is inlarging the flash piece thus skuing the image and inabling features of the flash object itself.

most important issues i am having are the following are as follows:
1) on www.alliedelec.com the main image in the flash rotating banner is skued from being enlarged.
2)http://www.alliedelec.com/eaton-control-automation/ on the bottom of the page there is a flash video player which is missing the controlbar at the bottom and cutting off the video previews on the side due to the flash oject being enlarged.
i have checked this in older versions of firefox and other browsers and ff5 is the only browser which is having an issue and one in need fixed asap.

Make sure that you aren't zooming anything on that page.

Flash Masks with multiple objects

hey i was wondering if anyone knows whats with flash and
masking an item to multiple graphics within a graphic
IE i have a bunch of squares. they are each individual
graphic objects. there are about 40 of these squares in another
graphic called squareContainer
im trying to mask a bitmap across squareContainer but when i
do it it will only mask against one of the 40 or so squares - how
do i get it to mask against all?

I'm an amateur developer of Ms Access databases. In one of my applications I want to visualize the options available when reaching a certain score.
What I'd like to get from this trial period, is a flash animation of a dartboard. Depending on an array of variables that provides the fill color (or reference thereof) the layers of the flash object will be dynamicly created, altered, or switched. The dartboard itself remains "static". I'm hoping to use 9 colors.
I can manipulate the array any way needed. I can provide XML coding to pass the array variables. I'm just too new and untrained to incorporate this in a Edge animation or Dreamweaver.
There is no need for interaction, once the object is created (ie no user feedback).
Can someone point me in the right direction?

I see you're using System.Data.OracleClient (which has been deprecated by MS) rather than Oracle.DataAccess.Client, but this works for me with Oracle's ODP, maybe it will help.

Optimize php page for browsers lacking flash, so that it replaces flash objects with static images

Hello,
I basically want to have my php pages with flash swf objects to be smart enough to replace the flash swf's with static images or other content for the non-flash user (iphone, ipad, etc.) who visits the website. I guess this would be an option or perhaps a script that just sent the visitor to a version of the .php page that is tailored to them, a version of the page designed for non-flash users.
I've done a little bit of reading up and have found that some people like to use DOM scripts like
Unobtrusive Flash Objects (UFO) v3.22
or what seems to be the successor:
SWFObject 2.0
What is better? Is there a better script out there to use at this point? Advice would be much appreciated.

I would like someone to tell me which one of these scripts that I have mentioned above would be best to use.
What am I trying to do? Well from my understanding these scripts allow me to have multiple versions of the website, so that it loads up with static images in place of the flash swf's for... NON FLASH USERS.
The script will be able to detect whether the flash capabilities of the browser are sufficient, and if not display the web page accordingly.
SO. I'm looking for an answer as to what is the best script to use, if it's not one of the scripts I am asking about.
@The Shocker.. if I wanted to research it on the net by googling, which I already have, I wouldn't be using this forum. Flash Builder Design Preview Not Working With Catalyst Objects On Stage

I'm working with a flash catalyst component from a flex project library, and it will not preview in desing mode. Anyone ever run into this? It seems that it may be a memory issue as the custom components themselves will preview, but now a bunch of custom components all displayed in a view.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated! For now I'm back to guessing x & y coords...

Going to answer my own thread here. This issue doesn't seem to be with Flash Builder, I think the issue lies in the browser not being able to register the button modes, namely Firefox 4. I've seen it happen in other browsers too, like Chrome, where the fix is to embed the swf as param.wmode = "window". Hope this helps someone out.

Shockwave Flash Object interfering with printer operation.

When I try to send a job to my printer, a print job titled "Shockwave Flash Object" is also being sent to the printer, and prevents the printer from working. I don't even have Shockwave installed on my computer.

Issues with Flash Pro CS5 on Mac

Hi,
I recently bought a MacBookPro 15", 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5, 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3 and CS5 Creative Suite. Built in Intel HD Graphics and NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M.
Hi have some issues with Flash Pro:
- when objects on the stage are quite big (for example a 800x3000 movie clip), it start showing strange colors and wrong position, however when double clicking the movie clip to edit it, it looks correct. Also no problem when publishing. See images attached, the first one is correct, the second one shows the problem, when editing the mc in the 2nd image i get the third image that is correct.

- after a while, when making a change in the stage or in the time line (deleting frames for example), it doesn't show it immediately, but i need to refresh the page. This happens more when opening many fla in the same time. Closing and restarting Flash fixes it, for a while.

Hi have been using CS3 and CS4 with less powerful computers before (always mac) and i never encountered these issues.
Removing preferences and Application support files didn't help. I also updated Flash to v. 11.0.1, but no joy.

Based on some searching and testing, it seems that if you redirect ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash CS5 to a location on the local hard drive, rather than the network account storage, the problem ceases.
I hope this helps anyone else who may run into this problem.
