Undo a fixed photo

I select a photo to be fixed while in Organize. Click Fix and then double click the selected photo. Click on Auto Smart Fix.
I don't like the result so I decide to undo the fix. I then click on the "Undo" arrow and a message appears that states
"undo not available for this action".
Question: How do I "Undo" a fix I do not like?

I think the answer is in the thread I have linked below. I think post # 10 is most likely the solution.

  • Fixing photo order

Has anyone found a fix to make the iPad revert back to displaying photo order by date taken?  I

There were other recent threads about the same thing within the last 2 weeks. Not sure where the matter stands.
For one poster who had a critical number of photos I recommended that she name them, for example, Monday 001, Monday 002, etc. It meant they were grouped together and in the correct order and this worked for her. This is OK if only a manageable number of photos are involved.
There are a number of programmes that allow you to rename photos by batch in a PC before syncing and this might be of interest to you. I would guess that in those circumstances they will remain in order when synced.
    Hope this helps a little!

  • How to fix: photos are behaving erratic or connected to each other

Please help as I'm stymied! My Mac PS CS5.5, vs. 12.1 is behaving strange when more than one photo is open. I don't like tabs, so I've turned that off in preferences. I need to have several photos open at once, and like to spread them over the desktop to see them all at the same time. When I click on one photo, the others are behaving erratically: some are changing to show the same photo I clicked on or part of it. It's as if each window is connected. How do I turn that off or otherwise fix the problem, so that I can view each individual photo and even make changes to it, without it effecting the other open photos?
I have already tried rebooting and deleting the settings file by booting PS while holding down the command, option, and shift buttons. And I checked for updates, but looks like I have the latest.
    Thx, Cindy

Thanks for your answer. I tried fixing the following, but it didn't fix the problem.
This is a brand new copy of Photoshop. Previous copies have worked fine on this computer. I just went to preferences/performance and changed the memory usage allowance up to 89%--think it was at 70%, and made an external drive with 1000GB extra space another scratch disk. Then re-launched PS. Problem is still there and happens even if I only have two photos open, plus no other software besides internet browser open.
The mac is a fairly new tower with 6gb ram. Not sure how to find out which video card I have, but I did purchase the upgrade.
    Thoughts?

  • Looking for Filter / Effect to fix Photo

I thought I would give this a shot and see if anyone could help. Quick story - fixing old photo from the 20's and a section right in the middle has water damage and I needed to rebuild a marble railing.
I actually found a picture of the same railing but I am having trouble matching the new railing into the old photo, very tough to age it. The original is a print that has clear coat on it so the scanner picks up all the little cracks in the clear coat. I have been trying with the blur filter and noise - I can get it close but it still sticks out when I run a test print.
Somehow need to match the cracking or at least come close. A filter or a combination?
Photo #1 is a section of the print and also I loaded the railing by itself.
    Thanks

  • How do I undo clear placed photos - I have 'lost' 40 pages of my photo book

I have a complete back up on an external drive but I am not sure how to reinstate the iphoto data.
You need to restore the iPhoto library from your backup. By default yoour iPhoto Library will be in your "Pictures" folder and called "iPhoto Library.photolibrary" (in iPhoto '11). what is your iPhoto version and your MacOS X version?
What kind of backup do you have?
If it is a Time Machine backup, connect your TimeMachine drive and quit iPhoto.
Select your "Pictures" folder in the Finder, and with this folder the currently open Finder window   enter Time Machine.
Then dive into the Time Tunnel and go back in time to the most recent date, when your Photo Book was still complete.
Select the iPhoto Library and press "Restore".
When you open iPhoto again, it should now show again all pages of your book.

  • How to fix photos from taking up space when there are no photos

So I have an Iphone 6 16g. It says storage full and my photos are taking up the most space with 2.4gb. The thing is I have around 7 photos on my phone. I am not sure what the problem is. Could the photos be from an old iphone through icloud or something? Not sure.

With CS5 and above, there are two main avenues of decreasing export times.  One, get a faster CPU.  Two, get an nVidia graphics card with CUDA capabilities.
Note that the first will speed up all exports, while the second will only speed up exporting under certain conditions.

I have now downloaded all the pictures in my camera directly into PSE Organiser. The pictures are all in folders listed by date the pictures were taken. Are they now safely housed in the PSE program?
PSE does not contain your photos. The photos are on your hard disk(s) somewhere, wherever they were put when they were moved from the camera to the hard disk (might be the default location chosen by PSE).
Can I delete the old Canon programs, which are still sitting on my Mac?
    Yes
And if I want to back up on an external hard-drive, how do I do that? Just drag the whole lot across?
Your interest in making backups is to be commended.
There are many ways to make backups, including the way you just suggested. You can also create a backup using PSE (which I recommend) since it includes the photos and the very important catalog file. In PSE, File->Backup Catalog, and set the destination of the backup to your external HD. Remember to do this regularly.
Sometimes when I've used 'Smart Fix" or other tools in the Photo Fix toolbox, I'm not happy with the result. But how can I 'undo' a fix and revert to how it was before?
PSE should create a version set when you do any editing, including the Smart Fix. Thus, you just need to expand the version set (right-click on the photo) to see both the original and the Smart Fix. Then you can delete the Smart Fix version.
-- I want to create an album "Europe 2012", and within it categories for UK, France, Italy etc. But although I hit 'create album category' when Europe 2012 is highlighted, the category just attaches to the last listed album - something completely unrelated. How do I ensure categories are within the correct albums?
I'm going to strongly recommend you don't do this via albums (unless your intent is to share the contents of the albums online somehow, in which case use Albums). I recommend you use tags instead of albums for this purpose. You can create a tag called Europe under Places, and another tag under Europe called France. I would also recommend you not bother including year or other calendar information in the tag (or album) names. You want "Europe" as your tag, not "Europe 2012". Why? Because you can always segregate by year (or other calendar time period) using the PSE Timeline; there's no need to do extra work to segregate the tags by year (or other calendar time period).

  • Fix & follow up on Topic: Powerbook G3 Wallstreet Battery issues

My answer was VERY simple! I too had a Wallstreet G3 that the battery suddenly stopped charging. Bought two new batteries, still the red X through the menu icon. Read forum after forum about logic boards, PRAM battery replacement (mine is dead)Battery Reset v 2.0, resetting power manager, loose contacts inside bay, copper (I think) interferring with A/C port, faulty power adapter, etc. & addressed the easy ideas putting off any inside hardware fixes.
Today decided to revisit a fix so I could break down and order whatever parts I thought I needed & put a battery in & the red X on the battery icon appeared, but then went away - so very briefly - then back to the red X. So having read today again about faulty power cords & remembering the copper touching the port problem, reached back & wiggled power cord to be sure it was pushed in OK & suddently the screen dimmed & I got the message window that I am running on reserve power & unless I plug into A/C right away the computer will shut down...words to that effect which meant that I had lost A/C power to the port just by a simple wiggle; so I pushed it a bit and held it in & the screen brightened so I knew it was back on A/C! After experimenting with pushing it in & around some more & having it dim, get the message & then come back on, when I left it on I noticed the battery icon had the lightening flash on it and the power strip showed the right bay battery was charging!! I WAS THRILLED!
Got to the root of the problem & did not spend a dime or replace any hardware! It has been an hour now (I haven't touched the power cord since)& it is still charging with the icon 1/3 filled with red and the first of the 5 blank indicators for the right bay in the power strip filled gray.
    Hallelujah!

Thank YOU so very much for taking the time to tell me about the DC power inlet because I found your answer after troubleshooting whether or not I thought I needed a new power cord or had a faulty port because I discovered when applying pressure to just the power cord housing right at the point of entry being careful to not disturb the actual cord it still caused the computer to behave erratically so I think you are absolutely right.
I purchased this from e-Bay a couple of years ago and am thrilled with it (am a Mac user from its very beginning and have had several open to swap harddrives, upgrade memory, etc.) so have been researching replacing the PRAM battery since a new one came with the computer which former owner didn't put on and since I have discovered it IS a TOTAL teardown I know why, but if my husband is comfortable soldering a electronic, I'll have him follow your directions when I get to the PRAM battery.
How would I recognize what needs soldered and any tips I should know on type of solder, etc? Any online fixit photos you can point me to? I'm all set on the tear down.
    Thanks again!!!

  • Changing date (and sequence) of events by changing dates of photos no longer seems to work. Any idea what to do?

I am scanning in old slides and negatives (from the 1960s and 70s), and I want to get the resulting "events" in sequence from when the photos were taken, rather than when they were scanned. So I have been changing the dates of the photos, and previously this resulted in the associated event moving to the proper sequence. This definitely worked a month or so ago, both with prints scanned in on a flat-bed scanner, and also with slides and negatives scanned with a Veho scanner. That was faulty, however, and so it has been replaced with a Plustek 7500i scanner, using SilverFast scanning software, and importing the resulting images into iPhoto. I have recently tried to change the dates of the resulting events, and it doesn't seem to work as it used to. There has been an update to iPhoto 9.1.3 since my earlier success.
Take for example one event, CS73A. Hovering over the event in the "All events" display gives dates of 1 Apr 2011 to 2 Apr 2011; these are the dates the slides were scanned in. If I open the event and choose the Info tab, it gives the event date as 02/03/1973 (which is the approximate date that I changed it to). I had done a batch change on the event this time, so the date and time on the first slide is 2 March 1973 09:30:48. Each successive slide is 1 minute later, and the last is 2 March 1973 10:08:48 (38 slides). I asked for the dates in the files to be changed as well.
I don't know what I'm doing that's different from before. The only things I can think of are (a) something has changed in the iPhoto update, or (b) the SilverFast software stores the scanning date in some part of the EXIF that iPhoto can read but not change. I don't have tools to examine the EXIF unfortunately.
    What to do?

Chris, I have run into the same problem.
    Try this:
Open an event with more than one photo in it.
Adjust the date of one or more photos. The event date does not update.
Delete any one photo. The event date now updates to match the above date change.
Undo the delete photo. The event date stays matching.
Change the date of any photo again. The event date updates now every time.
If you close the event and reopen it, you have to start over with the delete one photo thing.
I don't understand it but it works here.
I also have had the problem of events not sorting themselves in order of the dates when VIEW, SORT, BY DATE is selected. This seems to affect only the events were photo date changes had been made. Using the delete thing seems to keep the events in order.
Another funny thing: When I put photos into iMovie the times in iMovie show as 7 hours off the photo time.
I think Apple owes us an update to iLife!
