With the iTunes Store, all sales are final. As soon as you click the Buy button (using either 1-Click or the Shopping Cart) your purchases are charged to the credit card on your Apple Account. You cannot cancel a purchase or receive a refund for a purchase.
still, the iTS is reported to make the occasional exception, so send an email to the iTS customer service using this form and ask the folks there nicely if they can help.
good luck !

  • Problem with unwanted purchases

Hello to everyone, I have a problem with iTunes store. Recently I purchased an album from the store but there was some kind of problem with it and it appears to have been purchased 3 times! the first one of course is ok, payed, dowloaded and that's it. The others instead, I can't get rid of them! iTunes store notifies that the payment method is invalid (of course, there's no more money on that card) and I can't signal the problem to undo the purchase and have a refund. Any suggestion? Thanks (sorry for bad English, it's not my mother language)

If I had this situation, I'd look at a 3rd-party iPod manager.

  • ITunes is saying I haven't purchased something that I have

Theres this one season of a TV show I own that I've purchased all the episodes, but the store is saying I haven't purchased it, and still gives me the option to purchase again. I did last night, I got duplicates of all the episodes, but it's still marking it as not have been purchased. I really hope my credit card wasn't charged. I made an appointment to talk on the phone with them but not until next Saturday. Is there anything I can do to undo the purchase if I did end up purchasing it again?

  • Oops... 'Transfer Purchased' Undo?? Help!

I just plugged my ipod into our new computer and clicked 'Transfer Purchased'... I was thinking this would copy my songs from my ipod to my new computer, however, it erased the songs on my ipod and moved them onto the new computer... it also erased them on my laptop (the computer I use to keep all my music on) I know, I know, sloppy on my end but is there anyway to get those songs back to my laptop and ultimately my ipod? Any help would be very appreciated! Thanks!

  • HT1689 purchased a song in error.. can I undo it and get the song I wanted?

I purchased a song, but it isn't what I thought I selected.  It is some cover by someone I never heard of.  Can I "return" it and get credit or better yet, get what I really wanted?

All purchases are considered final, but you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will refund or credit you : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • HT4009 I have accidentally purchased an in-app upgrade, thinking it was free. is there any way i can undo this action?

The name says it all. I was informed of this unpleasant surprise only a few days after making the 'purchase' which i thought was free, because i did not have access to my email. Is it too late to reverse this action now? I don't even like the app.

The iTunes terms say all sales final. However...

  • I just updated itunes and a LOT of my movies and music disappeared. These are movies and music I owned already and did not purchase from iTunes. How do I find them or do I need to add them all again? Also what happened to the sidebar?

I just updated my iTunes software and have a lot of problems...
    1. The sidebar option is gone. I LIKED the sidebar and it was easier for me to navigate that way.
    2. Also no lists? I hate the icon way to view it. It makes my eyes go wonky and I have a harder time actually looking for what I want.
    3. A LOT of my music and movies have disappeared. These are music and movies I owned that I did NOT purchase from iTunes so I can not re-download them.
How do I find the missing files? Do I have to readd them into iTunes? Is there a way I am not seeing to put thew sidebar back or make the files be viewed in list form? Can I undo this update to put it back the way it was. I hate this update...

  • I have two questions and appreciate anyones help, First I can not seem to copy music from a legitimately purchased CD into my iTunes library or i pod, can anyone help me with this? it used to work. i have i pod touch and second-.

Thank you for any help I appreciate it. Apple products came highly recomended to me, and I have been largely happy with my i phone, i pod, i pad mini and macbook. I admit I tunes always confused me, it is so hard to copy things back and forth from computer to device or vice versa. Most importantly my partner has given me a set of CD with audio books, legitimate CD's not burned copies, and I wish to play them on my i pod touch. I have donethis before with CD''s, however now I look i see all the songs and audio books from CD's have been removed from my device after synch with my itunes on my macbook??? and I can no longer cooy the new CDs on to there? i try put them in the library, and they show up but they are not in black printing like the other songs, they are a faded grey color. They play on the mac book in itunes, so i know they are THERE, they just wont go on my device??? What am I doing wrong and why did all my other ones turn to grey gaded text and go off my i pod.
Furthermore, i thank anyone who takes time to help me, it isnt your job, it is apple's job, but they want me to pay forty bucks for the priviledge of contacting them for help because my warranty expired !! They obviously did something with a new update of their i tunes, there should be NO DIFFICULTY copying audio books i legally own the CD for onto my i pod, why is it so impossible? I have asked my father, my brother, my flat mate, no one can work it out, so its not just that im an idiot.
People warned me that apple does things like this, makes stupid programs like i tunes, that make nothing but trouble so you have to pay to ask for help, and make it so you have to buy everything from their library not on CD. I woudl buy from them if they had the audio books and songs I wished to purchase but they don't always have what i want. And if they did why shoudl i pay AGAIN when i paid for the CD already , i paid for the I pod, i legally own them both so why can i not put my own music on there??? It makes me miss my simple MP3 player where i just plugged it to my computer and copy/paste. It really makes me wonder why when i POD is so much more expensive why its so much more trouble and you have to pay to ask for help??? I really have enjoyed my macbook (After being windows used all my life), i love my i pad and i phone, and until now i adored my i pod, but if it's not going to let me listen to my own music and audio files i may as well throw it in the trash and go get a mp3 player, and warn everyone I know.     If there IS a way to copy my own music to the device then WHY IS IT SO HARD?? Just to make people pay to ask for help or what?
I am a loyal apple customer, All my devices are apple and until now i have been happy and willing to pay more for a good product. But i tunes is ridiculous! It's already synched things i didnt want synched and deleted things i didn twant deleted, and thats fine i told myself maybe im too dumb and dont get it. buT i've been trying all week and asked other peopel and still cant get this simple task done, and after purchasing their devices and recommending them to my friends, its a slap in the face to say they wont even let me ask a support question without paying forty bucks!  Thanks for nothing apple.
A very unhappy customer-- not just that i cant pplay my music and audio books, but that i cant even contact anyone for help without paying after i purcahsed four different products off them in the two years!

The sort fields should generally be empty unless you've putting in custom values to sort solo artists by their surnames. You can apply common changes to thousands of tracks at once, just don't apply the wrong change because there is no undo.
It is a good idea to backup before undertaking large scale changes. See this backup tip for a suggested approach.

  • I purchased CDs and imported them into my iTunes and when the artists has other artists featured on the tracks it separates these tracks into a different album. How can I consolidate these back into one album?

I have CDs that I've purchased from music stores (ie. Best Buy) and have imported them into my itunes library. The problem is that iTunes has separated all the tracks that feature another artist into a separate album. I want all the songs filed under the same album, so that when I play the whole album, I can hear all the songs. Also when the album work is not showing up on some of these CDs. How can I fix this?

  • I have more than 300 CDs I downloaded into my computer which went to my iTunes library and have purchased hundreds of songs through iTunes store and can no longer access these songs. How can I restore my music so I can play it?

I have more than 300 CDs that I have downloaded to my computer and have purchased hundreds of songs from the iTunes store on my Mac. I cannot play any of this music now. How can I restore my iTunes library? I can see the music files, but they will not play. The message I get is that the file cannot be found. I have stopped purchasing any music from iTunes, and will not do so in the future unless this can be resolved. Why buy music if in the future you can't play it? I have not connected my ipod to my computer for months because of concerns that my music will disappear from there too.

What you see in iTunes is not the music but a pointer to the file that contains the music.  Somehow these pointers have become broken. You may have accidentally deleted the file, or moved a folder, or moved a file, or renamed a folder, or renamed a file, or...  iTunes is very unforgiving of you doing things to the iTunes folder unless you have it set so iTunes does not manage your music for you (in which case you really need to know how iTunes works)
If all your links are broken, or a large number are, then there are various options, none of them easy (unless you're lucky).  One is when it asks you if you want to find the file that you say yes and then guide it to the file (which will probably be in a folder by artist, and then a folder by album name). Gets old fast if you have 300 CDs.  Another is to undo what may have caused the links to become broken, if you can remember what it was that you might have done such as renaming a folder.  Another is to just forget about your old library, ratings, and playlists, etc. and start afresh. Trash the library file in your iTunes folder, start iTunes with a blank library, then drag all your files to the new library.   Another is to restore itunes from a backup you may have made before this happened.
Do you keep just media on an external drive?  If you start iTunes without the external being switched on then it thinks the links are bad.  Quit iTunes and start the external before restarting iTunes.  You may have to scroll down through the tracks to "tickle" them into re-reading the link.
How do you have itunes set in preferences to manage your music?  Have you done any changes to preferences recently, or moving folders, files, etc?  Do you keep iTunes on an internal drive, or external?
In the many years of people complaining about broken links I don't think any way has been developed to mend them automatically.  I saw one attempt to use Spotlight, but it didn't really work.
None of us work for Apple so it's up to you if you won't buy from them until it is fixed. We will try to help you fix it, because we're nice.

  • "Accept" button says I need to purchase app, but doesn't say how

I purchased a new MacBook Pro in January. I setup accounts for myself (admin), son, and daughter (both Mac OS X users and Apple IDs). Yesterday I noticed from my Apple ID that the App Store said iMovie and iPhoto needed to be updated. I tried updating them, but it said they were purchased from another Apple ID, and I had to upgrade using that Apple ID. I logged into my son's Apple ID, ran App Store, and sure enough he had "Installed" them 4 weeks ago, along with GarageBand. I'm guessing this install was actually an upgrade since they came pre-installed on the machine. However, I'm not sure how this happened. He's downloaded other games, but doesn't recall ever updating anything.
In any case at this point what I want to do is disassociate these apps from my son's Apple ID so I can control their upgrade from my Apple ID. I tried deleting them from the LaunchPad. However, for GarageBand this left it in a state where I need to purchase it for $14.99. For iMovie and iPhoto, when I search for them for purchase, they are displayed with an "Accept" button rather than an "Install" button. When I click on "Accept" I get the following message:
"These apps cannot be accepted by your Apple ID.
These apps were already assigned to another Apple ID, and they will be available in that Apple ID's Purchases list. If you don't have access to that Apple ID and want to receive future updates, you will need to purchase the applications."
Problem is I can't find any way to purchase them from my Apple ID. How do I change the "Accept" button to a "Purchase" button?
BTW, I also tried deleting the apps and restoring from an old Time Zone backup, but still had the same problem. There's some database on the machine that associates these apps with my sons AppleID even though originally the came pre-installed.

Thanks for the info. Seems kind of messed up though. Why would Apple let any random user of a machine control all future upgrades of critical apps. I guess perhaps my admin password was needed at some point, which my son has. Still, seems this is something you should be able to undo.
I'm starting to get a clearer pictures of what's going on. These 3 apps are part of iLife 11 and normally cost $14.95 each. They come pre-installed on new machines, but it looks like at some point you need to associate this "purchase" with an Apple ID, and can only associate it with one Apple ID. Thus they are now irrevocably associated with my son's Apple ID.
However, if I wanted to shell out the money, it seems I should be able to tell this particular mac to forget everthing it knows about the purchase of these apps, and re-purchase them from another Apple ID. Although I doubt I'd do that at this point, if I by a 2nd Mac and properly associated these apps with my Apple ID on this 2nd mac, I should then be able to use this "purchase" to download the apps to the first mac I'm having a problem with. However, currently I can't even see a way to do this. Is there some App Store cache I can trash so App Store no longer knows which apps were installed by which Apple ID?
