Undo a saved keynote presentation

Is there a way to go back in time (undo) a saved keyonte presention to icloud?

I have the same problem; every time I open a keynote presentation I have to re-insert .mov files, and every time I close the presentation they are gone (that is, the thumb is there but the movie is not, and despite checking "copy audio and movies into the document".
HELP.

  • Saved Keynote presentation as .PPT but will not open in Windows

I have a new Macbook Pro with Keynotes (Dec 10). I had a presentation prepared in Windows 7 PowerPoint. It opens in Keynote but if I save as .ppt, it will not fully open in Windows PowerPoint 2010. The slides all open but there is no content. Keynote is version 2009 5.0.4 (633).
Is there some secret to using Keynote - None of the previous items seem to address my situation.

for what its worth, I've been trying to do the same today
however the problem doesn't seem to lie with the Keynote to Powerpoint, as that opens fine on the same Mac
it seems to be the resulting PowerPoint Mac file, copied to PowerPoint Windows that is stumping the presentation and producing the blank slides (which is does mention in the warnings that flash up on the PC when you open the file).
Unfortunatley I cant seem to find an alternative to the Save-As version '97-2004 that Mac PowerPoint can produce:
    Keynote '09 v5.0.5
    PowerPoint 2008 v12.2.5 Mac
    PowerPoint 2007 PC 12.0.6557.5001 SP2

  • Problems saving keynote presentation??

anyone having problems getting Keynote to save a file - when I save it (has videoclips in it) it goes into endless spinning wheel mode until I force quit and then I lose data...
    thanks!

Open the file. At the top.... click File> Save as> and see where you are saving it too. Odds are that is where the problem is. Like said before, change that "save to" to the "desktop".
    You can do it!

  • I have a keynote presentation that includes a significant amount of video.  When I edit the keynote slides (not the video slides) how can I save the changes without re-saving the videos (because that takes a VERY long time)?

I have a keynote presentation that includes a significant amount of video.  When I edit the keynote slides (not the video slides) how can I save the changes without re-saving the videos (because that takes a VERY long time)?  I edit the presentation depending on the audience to which I am presenting.

If you add a new  slide with just a text box (therefore a very small amount of data),  to an existing presentation then save,  Keynote will only save the new content to the file,  it wont save  pre-existing content as its already included in the file.
The time  taken to "save" will be very much shorter than a "save as" when all of the existing content is saved again.

  • Rehearsing AND saving a keynote presentation?

I have a keynote presentation that I have already delivered. I also have a good quality audio of the event. I want to run the keynote while listening to the audio file AND save the timings.  I would intend next to add the audio to the saved timings and then save the whole thing as a stand-alone quick movie lecture.  This should eliminate problems with different processor speeds on different machines.
I know I can 'rehearse' timings in Keynote but can I SAVE the timings?
Can I do this using Keynote/Garageband etc?
    thanks
    Ron Bailey

There are a couple options for you here.
Keynote can do this, but some users have had problems with the saved timing not being exact on Quicktime Export. What you want to do is Record the Slideshow. You can find this in the Play Menu. Add the audio as the soundtrack and you will hear it while recording. Then when you export, make sure you uncheck to include Recorded Audio in the Quicktime movie.
The other option if your slides do not contain a lot of animation, and you are ok using different transitions, is to export the images of the slides and do the whole thing in iMovie. You can add the audio and set the length each image is on for.

  • Error when trying to access keynote presentation saved as ppt

When I export my keynote presentation as a power point (.ppt), I get an error message that states "there was an error accessing Macintosh HD:Users:" and then the rest of the file path. I am trying to save the file onto the desktop but it doesn't matter where I try and save it, I still get the error.
    Thanks
    Craig

While I don't know why this happens, and you're not the only one with this problem, it has never happened to me. I don't think it's because of clean living , but perhaps something problematic about one or more of your slides, but perhaps not all of them. See if you can break up your presentation into smaller parts, try exporting a few of of them. If one or the other group works fine, it'll help you narrow down the problem.

  • How do I copy an image from one Keynote presentation to another one?

I have a previously saved presentation on Keynote in iCloud. I created it from my desktop at work. Some of the images I used for the presentation I want to use again in another presentation, onlh this time I am working off my laptop and don't have the same access to those images. Is it possible to copy/paste images from one Keynote presentation into another? I can't even seem to click on the image and save it.
    Any suggestions?

Clicking and dragging does not work.
Click on the image and Copy and Paste
    or
Inspector > Metrics > File Info > click on the icon of the file and drag it to your desktop
You can then drag that file back in wherever you want.

  • HT4640 Adding a video clip to a keynote presentation - do I have to keep the original video on the camera roll?

I have several keynote presentations that are missing their video clips.  Does the original video clip need to stay on the camera roll after you embed it in the presentation?  I thought not, because when you add a video, a message comes up saying "compressing video" before it gets added.  That made me think that a special compressed version of the original video is made and saved along with the presentation.  I've tried testing this by creating a new presentation, adding a video clip to it and then deleting the original video from the camera roll and the video clip in the presentation was not affected.  You'd think if the clip were linked to a presentation, that iOS would warn you before you delete it from the camera roll.  But I can't think of any other reason why the clips would suddenly be missing from all my keynote presentations.

You can do this with iMovie '06, but not with iMovie '08. You should have iMovie '06 still on your hard disk if you upgraded from iLife '06, or you can download it for free from Apple. Under Editing -> Video Effects, you will find the Fast/Slow/Reverse effect that will do this.

  • Accessing a Keynote presentation on iPad

How do I access a Keynote presentation on my iPad that I created on my MAC and saved into iCloud?

Go to Settings>iCloud>Documents & Data and make sure it's turned on, and that Keynote is turned on there as well.  Then go to Settings>Keynote and make sure Use iCloud is turned on.  Then you should be able to see your iCloud Keynote documents when you launch the app.

Did you check the home page setting?

If you do not keep changes after a restart then see:

You can also check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox Profile Folder that store session data.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

  • How can I embed a song into a keynote presentation?

how can I embed a song into a keynote presentation?

    (From Keynote Help)
Adding Sound to an Individual Slide
Sound added to an individual slide plays only on the slide to which it’s been added.
Here are ways to add sound to a slide:
Drag a sound file from the Finder anywhere onto the slide canvas or to a media placeholder.
Click Media in the toolbar, choose iTunes in the Audio pane of the Media Browser, select a playlist, and then drag a file or playlist anywhere onto the slide canvas (including to a media placeholder).
The sound file is represented on the slide canvas by a speaker icon, but this icon doesn’t appear when you play the slideshow.
You can start and stop sound playback at any time while the slide is showing. When you advance to the next slide, the sound playback automatically stops. To control when the music starts and stops, select the sound file icon, and then set playback options and use the Start Audio and Stop Audio effects in the Build Inspector. For more information, see Adjusting Media Playback Settings and Creating Movie Builds.
When you add media files to your slideshow, make sure that they will be available if you transfer your document to another computer. When saving your document, make sure to select “Copy audio and movies into document” in the Save window after you choose Save or Save As. (If you don’t see the option, click the disclosure triangle next to the field, and then click Advanced Options.)
Also note that some media files are protected under copyright law. Some downloaded music may be played only on the computer where the download occurred. Make sure the computer you’re using has permission to play all the media files included in your slideshow.

  • Saving Keynote docs in iCloud

    Hello!
I recently downloaded Keynote, and I am trying to save a Keynote presentation in my iCloud, but iCloud is not coming up as an option under "Where" (to save).  How can I fix this? (note - this is my first time saving anything to iCloud, so perhaps I don't have it set up properly?  I do have "Documents and Data" checked in System Preferences -> iCloud.)
    Thanks!

  • Trouble Saving Keynote Document

I have created a Keynote presentation on my iMac and have transfered it to my MBP via sharing over my home network. The presentation opens and works fine on the MBP but if I try to save the file on the MBP I receive the following error message "the document (name) could not be saved." Is this a permissions issue? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

For what it's worth, I think this is smb related, because if I unmount the server drive, then connect under the goto menu with afp://servername, I am able to save edited files just fine.  Any ideas?

  • Why is the font garbled in my keynote presentation?

I saved a keynote presentation yesterday (notebook theme) and all was fine; this morning, though, the font (Bradley Hand ITC) is spaced wrongly, as if it's typed over itself... Weird. I can change the font as a workaround, but I'd prefer not to have too. I've only had my Macbook three weeks...

Hi, and thanks for getting back to me.
The weird thing is that I installed the latest updates this morning, and saw that one of them related to fonts. I opened the keynote presentation in question and it was fine. When I closed it and opened it again to check, the problem had returned...

  • Photos dropped from keynote presentation

I am experiencing a repeated yet inconsistent problem with images losing their links in my keynote presentations.
    Example:
I have a presentation in Keynote that was created from a new document, using a custom theme that I created several months ago.
The file has several images in it, mostly .jpg and some .pdf
After opening and editing it over several days, and versioning up on revisions, I saved it from our server to my local drive (MacBook Pro).
When I opened the file while traveling I found that over half of the images were no longer in place. They had been replaced by grey boxes with question marks, each indicating a missing file.
What causes images in a keynote file to lose their link? I've not found any suitable answer in the Help section or from browsing previously Q&A threads.
It acts like an InDesign file, only the option to relink images or package the file before saving it to a new location doesn't seem to be present.
    Please help!
    thank you.

Can you see the old photos in the backups?  (If you're not sure how, see the pink box in #15 of Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions.)  If so, try restoring a few that way;   if that works, try restoring whole groups.
If that doesn't help, try repairing your backups, per #A5 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.
If still no help, there are a couple of long shots in #E9 of that same link.
