Undo a template

Hi I am wanting to undo a template and understand that if I went to the Edit and then the option Undo Template.  Only problem is in my Dreamweaver CS4 there is no option under Edit? to Undo Template,  anyone knows where it is or should I just delete the template areas?

Hi!
I just wanted to add a note to your post. Yesterday, I needed to remove the markup from a template or delete it and create a new template. I was unable to do so because "remove template markup" was grayed out. I received the following helpful answer from Robert Heist II. It worked for my issue and it may help anyone who encounters a similar problem:
"All you need to do is detach the index.html file from the template.  Then you
can delete the template and start all over.
Go to the Modify menu --> Templates --> Detach from Template"

  • How to exclude UNDO and temp tablespace using monitoring template

    hi,
    as per MOS note id 816920.1 undo and temp tablespace is excluded from monitoring starting version 11G onwards.It says that thresholds will need to be explicitly set if undo and temp needs to be monitored
    we have grid 12C implemented now with monitoring templates which sets thresholds for all tablespaces. does it apply that thresholds to undo and temp too?? we are receiving alerts for undo and temp tablespaces and we wish to disable them. We have undo tablespaces with different names in many databases as per naming conventions for that line of business.
    How can i exclude undo and temp tablespaces from monitoring using grid 12C monitoring templates. is there a way through templates where i can set thresholds of permanent tablespaces only???

    In EM12c, go to the 'Enterprise' menu, then 'Job', then 'Library'. There should be an out-of-the-box job called "DISABLE TABLESPACE USED (%) ALERTS FOR UNDO AND TEMP TABLESPACES" that you can run against your database targets, and that job will disable database-generated alerts.
    If a previous admin has set up EM12c-generated alerts for undo and temp, then yes, a monitoring template will take care of disabling them. Either remove those alerts from the existing monitoring template and apply them to your targets, or create a new monitoring template based on one database's current settings, remove those warning/critical thresholds for your undo and temp tablespaces, and apply it to your targets.

  • Photoshop CS4 smart object template just overwrote a raw file - HELP

    So.  I've been working in Photoshop extensively for about 6 years now and I am well aware that nothing we do in Photoshop or Lightroom is supposed to overwrite a raw file.  I'm not talking about changing it to something a little lighter or darker, I'm talking about replacing a picture of one baseball player with another one - and the original? Gone.
    Here's what happened: I have a poster template that contains several layers, 7 of which are smart objects.  I change the pictures in the template by right-clicking the smart object layer and selecting "replace smart object," browsing to the new image, selecting, and here is what SHOULD happen: the target picture opens in Adobe camera raw, I make some small edits, click done or okay or something similar, and that new image has replaced the old one in the template.  What DID happen was this: I followed the procedure above and selected my target raw file, the picture that was already in the template (the one I was trying to replace with my target file) opened in Adobe camera raw.  I thought - Hey, that's wierd!  Closed the ACR dialog and tried again.  Same thing happened.  I opened lightroom and saw - to my HORROR - that the target file had been changed to the same image that was in the template.
    If it clarifies: pictures of player A (who played in 2009) is in all of the smart object layers in my template.  I want to make that poster be of player B (who played in 2012) so I begin replacing all the smart objects.  When I get to the 3rd image in the poster template, Photoshop overwrites my raw file of player B with the smart object photo of Player A.  There were no photos of player A on the network drive that the picture of Player B was on.  But there's one now.  My raw file shows that it was modified about 10 minutes ago.
    We tried undoing in Photoshop.  That did nothing.  We tried deleting the xmp file.  That did nothing.  We removed it from the lightroom catalog and reimported it.  It is now a picture of Player A from 2009 and my picture of Player B from 2012 is just gone.
    Anybody have any idea what this could be and how we could avoid it in the future?
    Best,
    Jamey

    Now - JJ - when you say "overlay files" - what do you mean?  Because that feels like a good description for what happened.
    We performed no save operation at any point during the sequence of events that ended with the image in one raw file being replaced by the image in the smart object.
    As I wrote Smart Object layers embedded object is a copy of the original  and if you replace it you replace it with a copy of some other object. Embedded object are copies and independent from the original.  If after creating a smart Object layer who's embedded object is a copy of a raw file and its conversion settings. You change the original RAW files RAW conversion settings the smart object layer raw conversion setting are not changes for its a copy with independent raw conversion settings. When you replace a smart object layers contents you will replace the embedded object and you should replace it with an object the has the same pixel size and orientation. Because there is an associated transform for the object in the layer that is not replaced. The replacement is also a copy.  If the original smart object was created using  File Open where you choose a RAW file  ACR would open with the RAW files current conversion settings.  In ACR you can changes the setting then hold down the shift key to change the open image button to an Open Object button.  Using that button ACR will open a smart object layer in Photoshop the contents of the embedded object is a copy of the RAW file and the current ACR settings.  No File is written Photoshop is not a File Editor its a Document editor that has many data structures for different layer types.  When you replace the contents of a smart object you will be put into a "Place" file selection dialog if you choose a raw file it should have the same orientation as the image being replaced because of the associated transform. When you choose a RAW file ACR will open and you can change the conversion settings however there will be no Open Image button instead there will be an OK button.  There is also a save image button and you can save a RAW file that is a DNG file not a CR2 file. Like the DNG converter. If you click the OK button the embedded object in the smart object layer will be replaced with a copy of the selected RAW file and the current ACR settings. Again there is no file written Photoshop is not a File editor just the embedded smart object data is replaced in Photoshop smart object layer's data structure.
    I do not think the use of smart objects in you process caused what you are experiencing and because it only happens once an a while I feel its more likely caused by some human error made during the processing in those cases. I would look elsewhere for what causing the overlay. In the place file selection dialog it is possible to rename files perhaps even by accident. Programs like LR and Bridge can rename and copy files perhaps overlay other files.

    CREATE INDEX TAB_A_IDX ON TAB_A
    (RUN_ID, COB_DATE, PARTITION_KEY, DATA_TYPE, VALUE_CURRENCY)
      LOCAL;The table is subpartitioned as each partition typically has 135million rows in it.
    Overnight, serveral runs occur that load data into this table (the partitions are rolled over daily, such that the oldest one is dropped and a new one created. Stats are exported from the oldest partition prior to being dropped and imported to the newly created partition. The oldest partition once the partition has been created has it's stats analyzed).
    Data loads can load anything from 200 rows to 20million rows into the table, with most of the rows ending up in the Default subpartition. Most of the runs that load a larger set of rows have been set up to add into one of the other 4 subpartitions.
    We then run a process to extract data from the table that gets put into a file. This is a two step process (due to Oracle completely picking the wrong execution plan and us not being able to rewrite the query in such a way that it'll pick the right path up by itself!):
    1. Identify all the unique currencies
    2. Update the (dynamic) sql query to add a CASE clause into the select clause based on the currencies identified in step 1, and run the query.
    Step 1 uses this query:
    SELECT DISTINCT value_currency
    FROM            tab_a
    WHERE           run_id = :b3 AND cob_date = :b2 AND partition_key = :b1;and usually finishes this within 20 minutes.
    The problem
    Occasionally, this simple query runs over 20 minutes (I don't think we've ever seen it run to completion on these occurrences, and I've certainly seen it take over 3 hours before we killed it, for a run where it would normally complete in 2 or 3 minutes), which we've now come to recognise as it "being stuck". The execution path it takes is the same as when it runs normally, there are no unusual wait events, and no unusual wait times. All in all, it looks "normal" except for the fact that it's taking forever (tongue-in-cheek!) to run. When we kill and rerun, the execution time returns to normal. (We've sent system state dumps to Oracle to be analyzed, and they came back with "The database is doing stuff, can't see anything wrong")
    We've never been able to come up with any explanation before, but the same run has failed consistently for the last three days, so I managed to wangle a DBA to help me investigate it further.
    After looking through the ASH reports, he proposed a theory that the problem was it was having to go to the UNDO to retrieve results, and that this could explain the massive run time of the query.
    I looked at the runs and agreed that UNDO might have been used in that particular instance of the query, as another run had loaded data into the table at the same time it was being read.
    However, another one of the problematic runs had not had any inserts (or updates/deletes - they don't happen in our process) during the reading of the data, and yet it had taken a long time too. The ASH report showed that it too had read from UNDO.
    My question
    I understand from this link: http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/asktom/f?p=100:11:0::::P11_QUESTION_ID:44798632736844 about how Selects may generate REDO, but I don't see why UNDO would possibly be generated by a select. Does anyone know of a situation where a select would end up looking through UNDO, even though no inserts/updates/deletes had taken place on the table/index it was looking at?
    Also, does the theory that having to look through the UNDO (currently UNDO ts is 50000MB, in case that's relevant) causing queries to take an extremely long time hold water? We're on 10.2.0.3

    Ok, having carried on searching t'internet, I can see that it's maybe Delayed Block Cleanout that's causing the UNDO to be referenced. Even taking that into account, I can't see why going back to the UNDO to be told to commit the change to disk could slow the query down that much? What waits would this show up as, if any?

    Since you're on 10.2 and I understand that you use
    the statistics of the "previous" content for the
    partition that you are now loading (am I right?) you
    have to be very careful with the 10g optimizer. If
    the statistics tell the optimizer that the values
    that you're querying for are sufficiently
    out-of-range this might change the execution plan
    because it estimates that only a few or no rows will
    be returned. So if the old statistics do not fit the
    new data loaded in terms of column min/max values
    then this could be a valid reason for different
    execution plans for some executions (depending on the
    statistics of the old partition and the current
    values used). Your RUN_ID is a good candidate I guess
    as it could be ever increasing... If the max value of
    the old partition is sufficiently different from the
    current value this might be the cause.
    Do you actually use bind variables for that
    particular statement? Then we have in addition bind
    variable peeking and potentially statement re-using
    to consider.
    I would prefer literals instead of bind variables or
    do you encounter parse issues?Yes, that query runs as part of a procedure and uses bind variables (well, pl/sql variables!). We are aware that because of the histograms that get produced, the stats are not as good as we'd like. I'm wondering if analyzing the partition would be the best way to go, only that means analysing the entire partition, not just the subpartition, I guess? But if other inserts are taking place at the same time, having several analyzes taking place won't help the speed of inserting, or won't it matter?
    Do you have the "default" 10g statistics gathering
    job active? This could also explain why you get
    different execution plans at different execution
    times. If the job determines that the statistics of
    some of your partitions are stale then it will
    attempt to gather statistics even if you already have
    statistics imported/generated.No, we turned that off. The stats do not change when we rerun the query - we guess there is some sort of contention taking place, possibly when reading from the UNDO, although I would expect that to show up in the waits - it doesn't appear to though.
    Data loads can load anything from 200 rows to
    20million rows into the table, with most of therows
    ending up in the Default subpartition. Most of the
    runs that load a larger set of rows have been setup
    to add into one of the other 4 subpartitions.
    I'm not sure about above description. Do most of the
    rows end up in the default subpartition (most rows in
    default partition) or do the larger sets load into
    the other 4 ones... (most rows in the non-default
    partitions)?Sorry, I mean that the loads that load say 20million + rows at a time have a specified subpartition to go into (defined via some config. We had to make up a "partition key" in order to do this as there is nothing in the data that lends itself to the subpartition list, unfortunately - the process determines which subpartition to load to/extract from via a config table), but this applies to not many of the runs. So, the majority of the runs (with fewer rows) go into the default partition.
    The query itself scans the index, not the table, doing partition pruning, etc.
    The same SQL_ID doesn't mean it's the same plan. So
    are you 100% sure that the plans where the same? I
    could imagine (see above) that the execution plans
    might be different.The DBA looking at it said that the plans were the same, and I have no reason to doubt him. Also, the session browser in Toad shows the same explain plan in the "Current Statement" tab for normal and abnormal runs and is as follows:
    Time     IO Cost     CPU Cost     Cardinality     Bytes     Cost     Plan
                             6     SELECT STATEMENT  ALL_ROWS
    4 1     4 4     4 82,406     4 1     4 20     4 6          4 HASH UNIQUE
    3 1     3 4     3 28,686     3 1     3 20     3 5               3 PARTITION RANGE SINGLE  Partition #: 2
    2 1     2 4     2 28,686     2 1     2 20     2 5                    2 PARTITION LIST SINGLE  Partition #: 3
    1 1     1 4     1 28,686     1 1     1 20     1 5                         1 INDEX RANGE SCAN INDEX TAB_A_IDX Access Predicates: "RUN_ID"=:B3 AND "COB_DATE"=:B2 AND "PARTITION_KEY"=:B1  Partition #: 3
    How do you perform your INSERTs? Are overlapping
    loads and queries actually working on the same
    (sub-)partition of the table or in different ones? Do
    you use direct-path inserts or parallel dml?
    Direct-path inserts as far I know create "clean"
    blocks that do not need a delayed block cleanout.We insert using a select from an external table - there's a parallel hint in there, but I think that is often ignored (at least, I've never seen any hint of sessions running in parallel when looking at the session browser, and I've seen it happen in one of our dev databases, so...). As mentioned above, rows could get inserted into different partitions, although the majority of runs load into the default subpartition. In practise, I don't think more than 3 or 4 loads take place at the same time.
    If you loading and querying different partitions then
    your queries shouldn't have to check for UNDO except
    for the delayed block cleanout case.
    You should check at least two important things:
    - Are the execution plans different for the slow and
    normal executions?
    - Get the session statistics (logical I/Os, redo
    generated) for the normal and slow ones in order to
    see and compare the amount of work that they
    generate, and to find out how much redo your query
    potentially generated due to delayed block cleanout.It's difficult to do a direct comparison that's exact, due to other work going on in the database, and the abnormal query taking far longer than normal, but here is the ASH comparison between a normal run (1st) and our abnormal run (2nd) (both taken over 90 mins, and the first run may well include other runs that use the same query in the results):

  • May Release: New partner support, Infrastructure updates, Site templates and bug fixes

    Link: http://www.businesscatalyst.com/_blog/BC_Blog/post/May-release-New-partner-support-Infrast ructure-updates-Site-templates-and_bug-fixes/
    We are announcing a new Business Catalyst release, scheduled to go live on Thursday, May 3rd. With this release, we are continuing our investments in system performance and stability by increasing our web servers capacity, enabling HTTP acceleration to provide faster site loading times, and improving the site creation speed by using pre-generated sites.
    On the product side, we have completely revamped our partner support workflow taking advantage of the Adobe support infrastructure and tools, enhanced the site templates workflow for partners, and included lots of bug fixes and improvements. Read through the following sections to get detailed information about this release:
    Partner support
    Infrastructure updates
    Features and enhancements
    Issues fixed by this release
    What's next
    You can jump to the corresponding section by clicking the above links.
    Partner support
    Updated Help & Support partner experience
    Following Adobe ID support, we have upgraded BC  support tools (cases, chat, documentation) with standard Adobe tools. As a partner, you can now benefit from the same support tools as the rest of Adobe Creative Suite, and can track your support cases with Adobe BC, Dreamweaver, Muse or Photoshop in a single place.
    Partners with more than 100 paid sites will get 2nd level chat support, which includes a higher priority, by default. If you have more than 100 paid sites, but spread across different Partner Portals, please ask support to enable 2nd level chat for you.
    Support experience for your Small Business owner clients can now be owned by partners (see below).
    Custom Help & Support URL for your clients
    As a partner, you are probably already offering various additional services to your clients besides building & maintaining their BC site. Support, tailored specifically to your client needs, is usually one of these value-added services. We are now enabling you to take your Support service to the next level. In  Partner Portal Settings, you have the option to set a custom URL for what will open when your client clicks on Help & Support inside Admin Console:
    If you have multiple partner accounts, for different verticals, you can specify a Support URL for each of these.
    The default Support experience provided by BC for your clients will be updated in a few releases to be similar to the partner support experience. This includes BC-branded support cases and documentation. If you'd like to keep a white-label experience for your customers, please set your own Help & Support URL in Partner Portal.
    For more details please read the Improved support workflow and new forums announcement on our blog.
    Infrastructure updates
    Between our April release and the following infrastructure updates have been enabled
    Limited trial sites for free partners – starting with our May release, the number of trial sites a Free Partner can have will be limited to 100. Once the limit is reached, Free Partners that need to create a new trial site have the options to upgrade to a higher partner plan, upgrade some of the trial sites to paid or delete unused/expired trials.
    Automatic trial expiry extension - with this release, trial site expiry date will be automatically extended with 30 days every time an admin user logs in  the system through the admin interface or through FTP.
    Installed additional hardware - we have installed additional web servers on all our data centers, that translate into an increase of the existing capacity with over 70%.
    Updated DNS infrastructure - we have improved the DNS resolution for email delivery so that we can increase the rate at which we're sending the system operational emails
    HTTP acceleration – all sites static assets are served from a new cache engine (images, CSS and JavaScript files, together with improved headers that should allow the browser to cache them better for a browsing session). This update has been turned on along with our April release, and has made all the BC sites load faster on first and on subsequent loads.
    Accelerated site/partner creation – we've changed the way new sites are created for faster speed, pre-creating them and reusing pre-created sites when needed, and have also improved the creation process for new partners, minimizing the impact of new CCM customers on the existing datacenters.
    Adobe ID for partners - in order to support an integrating experience between the various Adobe tools a partner may use (Dreamweaver, Muse, Support forums) we have added Adobe ID support for Business Catalyst partner accounts. Starting April 19, partners are asked to merge their current Business Catalyst account with their Adobe ID accounts. For more details about the transition process and FAQ please read the Introducing Adobe ID blog post.
    Updated Terms of Use - Along with several other changes in our processes in the past few months, we also revamped our Terms of Use and the signature process by requesting every admin user to sign a TOU. We have completed the rollout for partners, and we might be pushing an updated partner Terms of Use version within the following weeks. For more details and questions about this change, read the New Terms of Use for Business Catalyst blog post.
    Features and enhancements
    Site templates
    To support the increasing number of partners building, sharing or reusing  templates to create  new sites, we're extending our site templates support from our partner portal with a new template type and improved  management support. The update is going to enable partners to mark sites as templates and   choose between making them available in Online Business Builder and keeping them private in their partner portal. A template site will not expire and has the same limits as any other trial site.
    Based on your partner level, you can create private or public templates using the Site Details screen or the Tools>My Site Template section from your Partner Portal. Standard partners can only create private templates, while Free Partners can only view site templates that have been transferred to their accounts by other partners.
    The number of templates a partner will have will be limited and will vary based on partner level: free partners can store up to 5 templates in their partner portal, standard partners have up to 100 site templates while Premium Partners might have up to 200 templates. Paid sites marked as templates are not counted against these limits.
    Business Catalyst Partner fixes
    While we are really focused on making the Business Catalyst integration into Creative Cloud a smashing success, we are slowly resuming our efforts to deliver fixes that have been requested by our partners. This release includes the following partner fixes:
    Improved product custom fields - we have increased the maximum number of characters for product custom fields to 1024 (previous limit was 256); this gives partners and customers additional space to use when working with products
    Improved Secure Zone subscribers list - we have added the customer email address in the Secure Zone Subscribers list to enable partners better filter and manage customers
    Better experience when exporting data - to prevent customer confusion when exporting data from Mac computers, we have removed the export to excel option and exporting in CSV format by default.
    Social plugins integration updates
    Starting with our May release, we are updating the social plugins support to require users to get the plugin code from the third party provider and saving into his Business Catalyst website. The module tags and configuration will remain unchanged, but will render an empty tag until the partner or site owner will  update the module template to include the corresponding module code snippet from the third party platform provider.
    For more information about how you can enable the Social Plugins on a Business Catalyst websites, read the Social Media: Integrating Facebook and Twitter knowledge base article.
    Other changes
    Updated weekly emails - Starting with our May release, the information in the site weekly emails has been filtered based on the site's plan. For example, webBasics site reports will no longer include the sales report.
    Localization - we improved and increased the coverage of the admin interface translations into German, French and Japanese
    Site Settings -> Ignored IP addresses has been relocated under Reports -> Visitors -> More.
    BC-Dreamweaver integration performance improvements
    Development Dashboard has been removed, as it didn't provide a clear useful, ongoing benefit. The information present in the development dashboard has been integrated into our new Help & Support section.
    Payment gateway settings - for more privacy and data protection, we have updated the Payment Gateway configuration screens to obfuscate the sensitive login information. Fields that have been obfuscated are now requiring confirmation.
    Report abuse badge on trial sites - for compliance reasons, a "Report Abuse" link has been added to the front-end of all trial sites of free partners that don't have any paid sites. What's next
    The first item on the what's next list might not be news for many of you, but it's definitely one of the most important milestones this year. The Creative Cloud launch is just around the corner, and Business Catalyst is playing an important role in that, as the publishing platform for Adobe® Muse and Dreamweaver. This launch will capture all our attention within the next weeks as we want it to be our best ever.
    We'll start our next development cycle on May 15th, while the next Business Catalyst release is going to be pushed live in mid June. That being said, the following items are already on our launch plan for the next release and a few more will join the list. Please expect an update on our 2012 plans around mid May.
    HTTP throttling – all page load and API calls to BC will be protected against attacks, this might trigger problems for API heavy sites. We are looking into enabling this update along with our June release, and will help make sure that a reasonable number of requests will be accepted from the same computer per minute.
    Automatic site deletion - Starting with the June release, we are going to start automatically delete expired trial sites and canceled sites. Customers will be notified twice before we are going to proceed with deleting the sites.
    Thank you,
    Cristinel Anastasoaie
    Adobe Business Catalyst Product Manager

    In reference to this change in the Custom Reports... Better experience when exporting data - to prevent customer confusion when exporting data from Mac computers, we have removed the export to excel option and exporting in CSV format by default.
    What is the customer confusion we are trying to stop here? I've got even more confused customers at the moment because all of a sudden they can't find the export to excel option but know it exists if they log in on a PC?

  • I've updated my Firefox to 6.0.1 and now have problems when viewing/accessing one of Software Vendors. How can I undo that latest update?

    I am trying to access my Template on Proxibid's Auctioneer website and the Firefox screen goes away, showing me my wallpaper, then it comes back and says Firefox is not responding, then it suddenly displays a full screen of HTML. I spoke with Proxibid - they suggest I undo the latest update, as this problem began after that update. I need to know how to do that.
    IE works on the Proxibid site, but I REALLY don't want to use it...

    I do backup with iCloud.  I can't wait until the new iMac is available so that I can once again have my files in more than 1 location without needing to rely solely on the cloud.
    I also rely on iTunes and my MacBook and Time Machine as well as backing up to iCloud. I know many users know have gone totally PC free, but I chose to use iCloud merely as my third backup.
    I assume that the restore would result in my ability to open Pages and Numbers and fix the problem with deleting apps, but this would also mean that if my Numbers documents still exist solely within the app and are just not on iCloud for some reason that they would be gone forever.  Is that right?
    In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
    If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever.

  • Problem using template in database configuration assistant Oracle 10g

    Hi,
    I created a database using the database configuration assistant for Oracle 10g on a Windows Server 2003 box. The database I created worked perfectly, and I had saved it as a template so I could save some time when creating similar databases (which I have to do on occasion)
    When I try to use the template though, I get an error (at about 4% through the database creation) saying:
    ORA-01501: CREATE DATABASE failed
    ORA-09314: sltln: error translating logical name
    I'm creating this new database on the same server as the one I created my previous database on and NOTHING has changed on it, I did this just minutes apart and can duplicate it at will (just try and use a template)
    Heres the template file contents (KM1.dbt)

  • Problem when using template for new database (ora10g)

    Hi all,
    I've done this a few times now, on different servers weeks apart.
    I have an Oracle 10g install on a Windows Server 2003 box, and I have run the database configuration assistant to create a database. We will have several databases with the exact same setup when I move Oracle 10g to a production environment. I created the database exactly as I need it the first time round, then I save it as a template to use for the next ones. However, when I run the template I get the following error:
    ORA-01501: CREATE DATABASE failed
    ORA-09314: sltln: error translating logical name
    Whats driving me nuts is, if I just go ahead and retype everything back in the same as the last database it works fine, just seems to be the template which is messing me up.
    Heres the template I'm trying to use (hope just pasting it like this is ok.. if not, please some mod remove it and I'll attach it)
    Thanks!

  • Trying to modify the new nanokontrol template for logic 8

    hi folks,
    I'm using Logic Pro 8, and I just got a Korg nanoKontrol. I installed the plug-in that Korg put out last month, and it works great, execept I want to change one thing. I never use the Cycle Mode button, but I use Undo all the time when I screw up a take and want to start over. I would like to change the Cycle button to Undo, but the assignment window and learn mode aren't letting me for some reason. It looks like it should be easy and intuitive, but the obvious method just doesn't work. can anyone help me out with this, or at least verify if it is possible or not? thanks!!

    alright, I've learned that OSX commands can't be assigned to MIDI, and also discovered the 'Discard recording and return to last play position' command that does the Undo thing, only better, so I guess I answered my own question.
    in the meantime, I deleted the template and tried to reinstall it, and completely failed, but that's a whole other discussion!

  • Unable to 'undo' and 'copy/paste'

    Have NO idea what I did, but suddenly, I cannot copy and paste anything.  The options are available, but when used, nothing is copied/pasted.  Also  the 'undo' option is greyed out, even if I make an amendment to the code.
    I have CS4.  It may be quite awesome, but where can I get a publication which might explain to me all the options and gizmoes available in CS4...?
    Is there a 'default' setting for the layout?  Have also ended up with all sorts of windows all over the place.... (must be May madness? :-))

    Glad you got the other sorted  :-)

    I'd keep this bookmarked it's a very useful info site for DW specific questions..., can't find anything there, then you can ask your questions here  :-)

  • Can you set a layer to "Template" through script?

    Hi there,
         I am creating a script to batch export multiple artboards as SVG, and setting a layer to "Template" will keep my unwanted paths from exporting. I am using Illustrator version 17.1.9(64bit)
    Is there a way to set a layer to "template" through script?
    Thanks!
    Scott

    You are correct on this, if I create a template Action let say called "template layer" I can call that with app.doScript("template layer", "folder"). After testing it does work... on my client where I have the Action, but I have a few other artist who will need to run this script.
    EXAMPLE:
    for (var i = 0; i < app.activeDocument.layers.length; i++)
        app.activeDocument.activeLayer = app.activeDocument.layers[i] ;
        if(app.activeDocument.layers[i].visible == false){
            app.doScript ("template layer", "NI");
    The only other solution I can think of is putting all non-exportable objects on a layer, and call that layer "nonExport" and select all objects on this layer delete them, then export, then undo this action ... ewwww... sounds messy.
    Cheers,
    Scott

  • Undo list is saying stupid things

    I'm working on some rather large files imported from a ProTools aaf (originally from an Avid omf) and every time I try and undo any audio edits it takes hours (spinning beachball of death territory). Undoing automation is a little sluggish, but not as bad.
    The most worrying thing is that The Undo List seems to be talking rubbish - the list doesn't refer to the edit steps that I have just taken - it seems that they are from several steps before - however, if I undo, it, at least, still undoes the last edit that I have performed rather than the one that it says (but like I say, it's painfully slow).
    The Undo History, however, seems to say the correct edits, but stepping back through this is even slower!! I have tried deleting this History, but it hasn't made the blindest bit of difference.
    I don't seem to have these problems with any other (smaller) files - could it be a memory issue?
    Cheers

    Thanks again, but I don't think you've quite understood the necessity for handles on the audio files Ray: these are extra portions of sound at either end of the audio files, which you don't get if you consolidate all the audio into one file.
    I'm editing dialogue for TV/Film and each individual take/slate has it's own little clip of audio associated with it. They are all at different levels and with differing tones and background noise. I need those extra bits of sound so I can have the flexibility of extending the clips until the next bit of dialogue comes in, creating crossfades between sections, or for things such as finding a blank bit of audio to insert in a gap or for use as a template for noise reduction... I am also correcting rough audio editing done by the film editor, and in some cases, this means that some words are missing or have been truncated.
    If the audio was all merged into one file, these sections would be impossible to fix and tidying up the rest would become much more difficult and less effective.
    If you're talking about exporting each file individually, then that's a huge task - each half hour episode of the series I'm working on at present has between 1200 and 1300 files!! I think I'd rather put up with having to wait a while for some undos to happen than have to do that!
    I really wish that I didn't have to worry about this sort of thing, and I second the opinion of several other contributors that I have read, who feel that recently the quality and reliability of Apple hardware and software has gone downhill...
    In the meantime, I'm having to retrain myself to manually redo any edits that I have made rather than reaching for +command z+... it's getting there...

  • Template UI Logic and backingbean

    Hi,
    I'm new to adf and i'm trying to build a sample project with jDevelopper 11.1.2.1.0 for my company to know if we can switch to it.
    I've go a use case to implement but i've got some issues to understand how i can do it.
    I must create a view with :
    1) a top zone with a toolbar (and other stuff)
    2) a center zone with a panel tabbed
    2.a) In the first tab, a bounded table with some columns
    2.b) In the second tab a splitter
    2.b.i ) In the first facet of the splitter a second bounded table with some other columns (but linked to the same iterator)
    2.b.ii) In the second facet of the splitter a form (to edit the data)
    3) a bottom zone with a statut toolbar.
    I've created my toolbar with a declarative component following the adf corner [079. Strategy for implementing global buttons in a page template|http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/79-global-template-button-strategy-360139.pdf], my toolbar have 5 buttons (create, edit, save, cancel and delete).
    I then created a template for placing panel, and table splitter ui components with a backingbean used for binding the ui components (in backingbean scope, its' important cause the template could be on the same page with nested template tag)
    I've created a taskflow following the adf corner [007.How to cancel an edit form, undoing changes with ADFm savepoints|http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/007-cancelform-savepoint-169126.pdf] for the edit form
    I created a page that inherits my template, placed the declarative component toolbar at the top, placed the two bounded datatable in the facets of the template, and finally created a normal region calling the taskflow.
    When i click on the create button, the template backing bean receive the "event" and handle it, changing a task flow parameter.... (updating the region)
    My taskflow update and show me the create form... no problem....
    But if the user is on the first tab, he sees nothing. So i would like to change the disclosed property of the showDetailItems of the panelTabbed.
    I then created a variable in the pageDef of the template that would store a boolean value if the page is in EditMode or not. (create and edit is edit mode. save, cancel and delete is not)
    I created a contextual event to listen when that variable change, like that a datacontrol from a bean with a single public method could handle that change :
    onIsEditModeChanged(boolean newValue){
     getGUI().swicthShowDetailItem(newValue);
    }The method try to get the backingbean of the template (with a el expression), and then call a updatePanel(Boolean newValue) for changing the disclosed property of the showDetailItems :
    public BackingBeanTemplate001 getGUI()
     FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
     ELContext eLContext = context.getELContext();
     ExpressionFactory expressionFactory = context.getApplication().getExpressionFactory();
     ValueExpression createValueExpression =
     expressionFactory.createValueExpression(eLContext, "#{backingBeanScope.backingBeanTemplate001}", BackingBeanTemplate001.class);
     return (BackingBeanTemplate001)createValueExpression.getValue(eLContext);
    public void swicthShowDetailItem(Boolean newValue) {
     if (newValue) {
      if(!showDetail2.isDisclosed()){
       showDetaill1.setDisclosed(false);
       showDetaill2.setDisclosed(true);
    }Here's my issue :
    When the onIsEditModeChanged method is called the backingbean of the template doesn't exist in the context.
    So adf create a new instance of it but doesn't fill the ui component references of the page so i can't change the properties cause i get a NPE.
    of course showDetail2 and showDetail1 have their binding property set :
    <af:showDetailItem text="showDetail1" id="pt_sdi1" stretchChildren="first" binding="#{backingBeanScope.backingBeanTemplate001.showDetail1}">
    And
    <af:showDetailItem text="showDetail2" id="pt_sdi1" stretchChildren="first" binding="#{backingBeanScope.backingBeanTemplate001.showDetail2}">the backingBeanScope.backingBeanTemplate001 is referenced in adfc-config.xml :
    <managed-bean id="__5">
         <managed-bean-name>backingBeanTemplate001</managed-bean-name>
         <managed-bean-class>org.darkink.test.backingbean.template.BackingBeanTemplate001</managed-bean-class>
         <managed-bean-scope>backingBean</managed-bean-scope>
    </managed-bean>If i put a button IN the template that change my attribut value :
    public void switchAction(ActionEvent actionEvent) {
             BindingContext bindingContext = BindingContext.getCurrent();
             DCBindingContainer bindingContainer = (DCBindingContainer)bindingContext.getCurrentBindingsEntry();
             AttributeBinding binding = (AttributeBinding)bindingContainer.getControlBinding("isEditModeAttr");
             binding.setInputValue(true);
    }I dont have the NPE, at the "JSF Invoke Application" the bean already exists in the context (it is created at the "JSF Restore View") and all the ui component are NOT null.
    BUT if a place my button in the page that inherits the template and i call that method :
    public void switchAction(ActionEvent actionEvent) {
             BindingContext bindingContext = BindingContext.getCurrent();
             DCBindingContainer bindingContainer = (DCBindingContainer)bindingContext.getCurrentBindingsEntry();
             DCBindingContainer bcPtb1 = (DCBindingContainer)bindingContainer.get("ptb1");
             AttributeBinding binding = (AttributeBinding)bcPtb1 .getControlBinding("isEditModeAttr");
             binding.setInputValue(true);
    }everything works the same BUT at the "JSF Invoke Application" the bean doesn't exist in the context (so adf create it, BUT doesn't fill the ui component bindings).
    The strange thing is that at the "JSF Restore View" the backingbean is well created and filled with the ref of the ui components....
    So here's my questions :
    1) Why there is a difference when my button is on the template and when it's on the page ??? (with the backingbean)
    2) Why the backingbean is not fully created (only the constructor is called and not the ui components bindings)
    3) How can i realise my use case ?
    4) Is there another method to implement UI Logic with template ?
    5) Is there a better way to do this ?
    6) How to get the context of the template ?
    Thanks a lot for all of you who had the patience to read all of this, i know it's a lot
    but i didn't know how to explain my problem without all thoses explanations.
    I've read all the adf corner and all the given pdf books on the site (that i've found) trying to search for a solution and
    didn't find one. So please don't tell me read the books, or the solution is already documented...
    It would be a lot more helpfull to explain me why it's not working or why what a did is not a good solution.
    Sorry for my poor english too.
    Thanks a lot....

    P.S 1:
    In the swicthShowDetailItem method i've tried to change for using this :
    if (newValue) {
     RichShowDetailItem c = (RichShowDetailItem)getComponent("pt1:pt_pt1:pt_sdi2");
     if (!c.isDisclosed()) {
        ((RichShowDetailItem)getComponent("pt1:pt_pt1:pt_sdi1")).setDisclosed(false);
        c.setDisclosed(true);
    }It's working... but ugly and not efficient... so for me it's not a good answer....
    P.S 2:
    Another solution that i've found is that i could create an hidden button on the template
    that call the change event and in the page create a button that queue a click event
    on that button but for me it's not a solution.
    P.S 3:
    I dont like a JavaScript solution neither. for me, if a can bind my ui components to a backingbean
    i want to be able to use them !!!

    Hi,
    There will not any performance issue as such as all the code will be executed by the same Dialog workprocess in the application server.
    But it is alwys good to keep you flow logic and application logic seperated, so flow logic just calls the methods and the methods are in a different component like a static method of a class or function module in a function group.
    Best thing is Function Group as you can have screens in a Function pool.
