Undo closed file...

Hey!
Well, I'm currently working with bunch of images, with different names, and it happens when i'm closing document with Ctrl+F4 to close two documents, not just one... It would be great to have feature like in modern internet browsers to "Undo closed file" or something like that... I know that i can see last open files, but that is last "OPENED" files, not closed....
thanks,

Like, even something that you didn't even save once? Like an Untitled-1 document?
I kind of like this idea, but how exactly would you propose to implement it?
I guess there could be document history, but also a layer of application history that you could access by just clicking on the gray area behind all of the document windows; thus, unselecting any open documents?
Hmm...
well, I think that is logic to have just list of closed files that are saved,
or just loaded and closed without saving...
so, I suggest to have maybe just expandable menu item like last loaded list,
or maybe re-sort loaded list when file is closed and put it on top of list....
i think it's not much work to do...

  • Firefox 12 doesn't load bookmarks in sidebar, home pages don't open, undo closed tab won't work.

Firefox 11 worked fine. Firefox 12 seemed to install too fast. Now, when opening Firefox, bookmarks don't load in sidebar, even though the top of the sidebar says "bookmarks." Home pages won't load on opening Firefox---only a new tab. Clicking on the little house icon opens the home pages. Display closed tabs icon is dark and Undo closed tabs won't work. Sometimes the toolbar with File, Edit, View etc goes so dark it virtually disappears. I have Vista OS. Reinstalling Firefox 12 didn't help. Is there a fix, or can I go back to Firefox 11?

Do a clean (re)install and delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 12.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will also lose your personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • Undo Closed Tab/Restore Last Session

Hello there. There seems to be a problem with the "Undo Closed Tab". The feature is active ( button is not faded out/grey ) , but after pressing it , nothing happens. This came to being when Aurora was updated to v29. The daily updates ( well , not so daily ) , does not seem to fix this problem , and there is nothing on the internet that helps. I tried resetting all values in "browser.sessionstore.*" , but nothing happened. There is also another problem : i can't seem to find the "Restore last session" button on startup screen. I didn't find it in the Library ( CTRL-Shift-H ). Any ideas ?

The "old" home page was about:home (you can open about:about to see more about: pages).
Can you confirm that sessionstore.js is being created and updated as you browse?
You can open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
If you find one or more files named sessionstore but not sessionstore.js, Windows may be hiding file extensions from you. To work with files as accurately as possible, I suggest unhiding them. This Microsoft support article has the steps: [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/865219].

  • Undo reduce file size

Worked up documents on Pages with multiple photos, some at high resolutions. Reduced file size for emailing and sending to dropbox and now want to print in an 18" x 24" size. Sample print is very blurrry How do I undo reduce file size? Would exporting file via pdf (best file quality) help? Any other suggestions. Much aprreciated.

    Hi Trudy,
Reducing file size works by reducing the file size of any high resolution images to 72 dpi, OK for on screen use, but quite pixelated if printed or enlarged. Here's an example:
Here's the original—This is a detail, enlarged to 400% on the screen, but reduced by the discussions software to fit on this page. Note the spider web below the frog.
Here's the warning you get when you choose Reduce File Size:
Note that it says it "replaces" the original versions of the images. Scarey thought, but not as permanent as it appears.
    Here's the result:
The frog's snout is quite pixillated, and the web has almost disappeared, as has much of the texture of the frog's skin and of the rough-sawn cedar siding behind. Again, a 400% enlargement on the screen, with the reduction imposed by the discussions software.
If you act at this point, it is possible to undo the change—throwing out the edited image and replacing it with the original version. The option appears to remain available even after the document is Saved, but disappears when it has been Closed. That would make sense, as Saving both the reduced image and the full version would not result in a reduction in file size.
But there's one other factor: When you drop an image onto a placeholder in Pages, the image that is inserted is a COPY of the original image file. The editing referred to above is done with that copy, not with the original image file, which continues to exist, unchanged where it was before being inserted.
To get the hi-res version back, then is a matter of dropping the original file onto the placeholder again.
    Seems to work.

    Barry

  • Hello, I have a big problem with Firefox: Session Manager & Undo Closed Tab addons are not working, Sync Is not working. History is working. How to fix this?

Firefox remembers history but doesn't remember closed tabs, sessions.
It happened after updating Fox to v. 19.0.2 on one computer.
In Firefox Options is set Use Custom Settings For History, everything is checked except Always Use Private Browsing Mode. So I am not in private browsing.
When I press on Undo Closed Button nothing happens & in session manager Save Session Button is greyed out. I've tried installing other add-ons that can remember tabs. tried to disable/reinstall these 2 add-ons. Did't help. On my 2nd computer I have same add-ons, same settings and they are working normally. on 3rd computer undo closed tabs works also. How to fix this? I decided to ask before doing Firefox Reset...
Sync is a separate problem. It works, but quite often it logs me out of Sync account. Then I can log in only using long recovery key and password (choosing option I don't have device with me because it does not accept keys for pairing device.)
    Thanks for reading.

I have exactly the same settings in Options (in both computers)
for history, these 2 add-ons and all other stuff in Options. The only difference is that on 1 pc sessions can be saved and closed tabs can be reopened, on other main pc they stopped to work. + no any other add-on that does similar things works on this pc.
It is also interesting that I can reopen closed visited sites from History Panel, but not by pressing the Button. For now I only manually bookmark links to a temporary folder.
Recently (some 2 month ago) I pressed x and Firefox closed all tabs without saving them without displaying save & quit pop up.
    so I changed 4 settings in about.config
    browser.tabs.warn on close true
    browser.warn on quit true
    browser.warn on restart true
    browser.show.quit warning true
but the problem with sessions appeared only 1 week ago.
So I guess the problem is not with the History settings or other settings. Seems that something responsible for button or for storing info about tabs/sessions got corrupted. :(

  • CF Builder 2 slow on closing files issue

This is an old issue that still has not been resolved
When closing a file on CF Builder 2 it takes a long time for the file to close. This used to happen on Windows XP. I have a new PC with Windows 7 and reinstalled CF Builder 2 but the issue closing the file continues.
I have to do the following for that to stop.
    Closed CF Builder
    Renamed the file workspace\.metadata\.plugins\com.adobe.ide.editor.cfml\foldings\foldings.data
    Started CF Builder
However, after few hours CF Builder 2 becomes slow again when closing the files.
Is there any fix for this issue other than the temporary solution above?

Charlie, thanks for your time and information responding to this issue. They were helpful to track down what the problem is.
Based on the information you gave me above I noticed the following.
Under the Progress View what I see when closing a file are messages related to building workspace as the picture below shows.
As for folding.data file, I followed your advice and opened in a text editor. The file content has, like you said, some binary data, but also contains the strings "file:" followed by the full path for the files that I closed. I looked at the size of it and it was 11k with about 11 lines. Then I started to open and close some file and noticed that CFBuilder was writing the names of all the files I close to the folding.data file, which increased the file size. Now the file has 14 lines and 14k. The previous folding.data files had size varying from 38k to 87k. I also note that the CFBuilder was not appending the most recent files to folding.data as the path for the most recent closed files were in the middle of the file content. It seems that CFBuilder was not only updating but re-creating the file with the previous content and the string with the new file path in a random fashion.
When I said that the closing of the files is initially faster and then gets slower, I meant to say that is faster when I delete the folding.data file and CFBuilder creates a new one. As CFBuilder starts updating the folding.data file it gets slower. After that it continues slow even in between CFBuilder sessions. So I think that might be a threshold related to the file size that makes the process of closing files slow.
I don't think the problem is related to memory as I already had the Show Heap Status view on display and even when there is not much use of memory closing the file is still slow.
At this point what it looks like is that the process of closing a file inside CFBuilder updates the folding.data file and when that file reaches a particular size, it takes some time to actually close the file as if CFBuilder was waiting for the folding.data file to be updated.  What intrigues me is the fact that this behavior happened in w different PC's so it has to be something related to the setting of CFBulder in handling the closing of files.
I was wondering if there is some sort of setting related to closing files in CFBuilder.
Once again, thank you very much for your responses.

  • Undo after flattening image and closing file - Help...

My friend was working really hard on multiple files - he's been using PS for years - made a mistake by actually saving a psd file that he flattened and then closed the file.
Is there anyway to get that back?
His back up and timemachine are not working... so that is not an option.

  • Changing temperature after closing file?

After making changes to the temperature of an image in ACR, is there a way to later go back and undo the changes after the file is closed and reopened?
    Thanks.

If you are talking about a raw file, yes...if you are asking if you can open a raw file that has been processed and opened into Photoshop then saved, no, not really. You'll have to go back into the original raw file and reprocess.

  • Undo batch file name

I renamed a number of just-imported photos using Photos Batch Change, and then went on to import another group of photos, and create some additional folders. I then noticed that I had accidentally highlighted the Library folder instead of the Last Roll folder listed next to it, so the entire Library of named photos was renamed into the "new filename, 1-10,066".
I did a number of Edit Undos, but there must be a limit to how many of those iPhoto 6.06 allows, as I could not get back to the Photo Batch Change operation.
Any way to go back to the "original" names - I have not closed out of the application yet. Or must I go get my last backup copy of the library file? And if so, how to cleanly do that?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. If by "original names" you mean the file name at the time of import, select those photos you want to recover and use the Photos->Batch Change->Title to File name option. However, if you had retitled the files and want to get back to those added titles then follow Smtr's suggestion regarding a recent copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file. That file is the heart and soul of the library.
To make it easier to recover from similar issues in the future see the tip at the end of my signature below:
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Opening and closing files

I'm currently writing a financial tracking program for the mobile phones and since I need a number of files to work with each time, my idea is to work with only one file opened at a time (since I don't want to open too much files that could slow down the phone). My question is, is it possible to open/create a file and close it, and then open it and close it everytime I need some info from the file? If it isn't possible, is there any other way to do this? Any suggestions will be appreciated.
    Thanks.

I assume that you mean "record stores" as opposed to "files" in your question as you mention that you intend to use RMS . Your MIDlet Suite can open/create record stores using the method openRecordStore which returns an object of type RecordStore. There are a number of methods that can be used on this return value for more detailed access. RecordStores are closed with closeRecordStore method that only completes if all outstanding opens have been matched with a corresponding close operation.
    Hope that helps!

  • Adobe Acrobat, Print multiple files to PDF and merge open files to closed files?

I have Adobe Acrobat XI Professional.
Print to PDF – How can this be done for more than 15 documents at a time?  Right now, if I select 16 or more documents, I cannot ‘right click’ and choose ‘print’.  Is this a setting issue?  If I have many documents I need to print to PDF at once, it would be helpful if there wasn’t this limitation.  Background: This needs to be done to PDF files created from Adobe Live Cycle (and possibly from other software) because the files cannot be merged unless they are ‘printed to PDF’ first.  I don't know an alternate way to merge these files.
Also, if I have a multi-page PDF open and I need to parse out the pages to different files, is it possible to drag the selected pages out of the open PDF and hover over a closed PDF and have them added to the end of the closed PDF document?  I don't know of a way to do this, but I thought I would check to see if anyone else was aware of a simpler way to parse pages from one document into several pre-existing documents without opening each and dragging the files between them.
    Thanks!

Thank you for your response...I can do the additional step to combine them, the problem that I have is that the documents need to be in chronological order.  If I print them to the pdf printer or export them, either way, windows sorts them and they are no longer chronological.  While I can organize them when I combine them there are many times that there way too many that need combined into one pdf, making it a very inefficient and cumbersome process to do.  So I was in hopes there was a way to just have the pdf printer create one file instead of one for each document, it would keep them in chronological order.  I suppose I could number them on the print to keep them chronological - but when there are 75 or 100 documents it is a bit of a pain to sit there and respond to each document as it is being printed, and then need to do the additional step of combining.  My goal in this process is to gain efficiency so thought I would see if anyone knew how to use the pdf printer to create the single file.

  • 'Recovered' Muse website not loading or allowing saving/closing file.

    Serious frustration here.
Muse quit on me and when I went to open up my website file, Muse opened a file named "my_original_file_name - Recovered". Which is great and I'm certain this has happened before. So I begin editing and adding to my website, putting in about 5 hours of work.
Something I noticed was that in the plan view all my pages have the "loading-circular symbol" and every single page had (and has - still have site open for fear of losing all my work) it, yet I can still open the pages and edit them and close them. everything works fine when editing pages, widgets and all.
The problem is that I do not have the option to save my site when I go to file because the only option I have is "open recent..." all other are grayed out. I have even tried closing the entire program and it asks me if I want to save and I hit yes and assign the file to a new file name and the file never saves and the site never closes....as in the location where I saved the file doesn't have the file and the website just sits there with all the loading page symbols in plan view.
    Other questions I have are:
If I force shut down, will Muse automatically save and updated recovered file from this recovered file?
Is there a way to make my individual pages in plan view stop showing the constant loading circular swirl symbol? (seems like the problem why File > Save and all others are grayed out.
Again I have put a lot of effort in this site and I don't want to force quit for fear of losing work. I am going to leave my Adobe Muse site open in the above described state until someone has some insight for me lol.  It has been in this state for about 2 hours and I've checked my windows task manager and it shows Adobe Muse as "Running".
Thanks to anyone who actually read through this and any insight you may bring,

    Hi,
I'm not sure what is going on here, but it looks like a bug. Can you send your .muse file and your Edge Animate file to [email protected] with the subject attn: Dana and a link to this thread? You can use Adobe SendNow or SendThisFile if the file is over 20mb.
    Thanks,
    Dana
