Undo picture resize

I have imported a picture album from iPhoto into iWeb. The pics all have 1000 X 850 pix resolutions.
After uploading my web the pics are resized and smaller than the original resolution. How can I make iWeb display the pictures within the picture album in the original resolution. In other words: how can I prefend iWeb from resizing my pictures?
Btw in the settings of iWeb I did not tick the option to optimize pictures when importing

You can't. iWeb resizes the photos to 800 x 600. It's hardwired in to the application. Cyclosaurus has posted many javascript tips on changing much of an iWeb's features. I don't remember if he has posted one about changing the image size of slideshows and albums. Do a search for his posts in the iWeb forums for "slideshow" or "slideshow size" (something like that) and see what you find.

which is the good tool for picture resizing?

By resizing are you referring to the file size or image size? Is that the only image editing you need to do? I occasionally use Resize! which lets me batch change the compression level (JPEG Quality) of photos as well as the pixel dimensions (if so desired).
This app leaves the original alone and creates a new folder with the resized photos in it.
However, I get the best results by publishing my sites to a folder on my hard drive and running Web Site Maestro to optimize and upload the site to my server which is MobileMe.

  • When I add pictures into MUSE , do the pictures resize for web quality (And so the page loads fast enough) or do I have to do this using an external software like photoshop, etc. ? Thank You

When I add pictures into MUSE , do the pictures resize for web quality (And so the page loads fast enough) or do I have to do this using an external software like photoshop, etc. ?
Also is there any way I can change the contact form email for all of my contact forms at once.
I have over 100 contact forms and i want to make them reach the same email anyway I can do that without going one by one?

If you have placed the image in Muse using File > Place and then scaled the image down in Muse while editing, then Muse publishes/exports the scaled down/optimized image in final output. When using as a Fill, the output size depends on the Fitting option you setup in the Fill options.
As for the contact form email, you would need to specify the email address for each form individually. There is no workflow to edit the same for multiple forms at a time.

  • Picture resizing default from cmd+ctrl+shift back to cmd+alt+shift?

    Hi,
Quick question from a CS5 newbie.
Is there any way to change the picture resizing default from cmd+ctrl+shift back to the CS4 way of doing things ie. cmd+alt+shift.
Cmd+alt+shift resizes from the centre of the image in CS5 rather than from the left edge, which is really bugging me! Can't find a way of changing it anywhere.
Many thanks if anyone can help.

Oh... Well on that same article that i posted above about Disk Utility, there is a section that outlines how to access Single User Mode. Give that a shot and see if you can do a disk repair.
    Hold: Cmd+S on boot
    Type: /sbin/fsck -fy
That will start a disk repair
If you get "** The volume (name_of_volume) appears to be OK" then type "reboot" and see if your system will load
If: "***** FILE SYSTEM WAS MODIFIED *****" Then restart the disk repair untill such time as you get the "** The volume (name_of_volume) appears to be OK" message
    Hope this helps!

  • Picture resizing

I am new to Aperture and have a question about photo resizing. Many of you have heard of content aware resizing, does Aperture have something like that? I have to crop some pics and the object needs to be the same size as the original and not distorted .
    Thanks

OK sorry if its unclear altho it seems straight forward to me.
Firstly i didn't mention cropping the image I am talking about reducing the overall image size which is something Aperture will only let you do on export to either another file/desktop or Flickr etc....
In Photoshop if I wanted to reduce an images overall size for the web I would go to the Image menu and select Image size and reduce the file size to what I needed and select Bicubic Sharper which apply's some form of sharpening whilst reducing the image size. I could then still apply some form of sharpening before outputting the file to the web/print.
As most photographers know when you reduce an images overall size you need to reapply some form of sharpening as the image has become slightly soft during the reduction process.
Now in Aperture you don't have this option, you can only reduce the images size via the export the file version menu with the "export preset" feature and that's it. You should have the option to apply sharpening to the reduced image file before exporting it.
    Standard Workflow example;
    Import raw file
    Make adjustments
    Sharpen image before output
Output to Flickr with preset of say fit within 1200 x 1200 pixels
    Done
Now because the image has been reduced from XXXX pixels to 1200 the original sharpening applied in Aperture has been radically reduced and you need to resharpen the image, so.....
instead of uploading the 1200 pixel image to flickr I export it to the desktop instead (at that size) and then re-import it back into Aperture for further sharpening before exporting the file to Flickr. This is an added step in the workflow which shouldn't be necessary, you should be able to do this from within Aperture in the first place. It's a huge omission imo.
As an example I have uploaded 2 images to Flickr.
The first one has had sharpening applied in Aperture and then uploaded to Flickr as a 1200 pixel size image.
The second picture is the same picture but exported to my desktop as a 1200 pixel image and then re-imported to Aperture for further sharpening before being uploaded to Flickr.
Look at the Parrot's face, its pretty obvious which is the better looking image. Anyone who is exporting images which have been reduced on export directly from Aperture are exporting soft images. This needs to be addressed by Apple, you should be able to save a downsized image in Aperture without having to export it and then re-import it.

  • Undo tablespace resize error

Total space occupied by UNDO tablespace is : 3G and used space for UNDO tablespace is only 512M , so approx 2.5G space is free. But when i tried to resize the undo tablespace to 1G then its showing the below error :
ORA-03297: file contains used data beyond requested RESIZE value
but the used data size is 512M only.
Kindly help me to resize the undo tablespace to 1G.
    Database : Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.2.0 - 64bi
    Kindly suggest.
    Advance thanks !!

you can't resize undo tablespace. If you are trying to reduce the size.
then add a unod tablespace may like undotbs2 then set undotbs2 as default to your database. then drop the prvious undo tablespace

  • UNDO tablespace resize/shrink.

    Hi All ,
is it possible to shrink/resize undo tablespace.

    Hi Shobhit!
I is correct that you're unable to set this parameter with ALTER SYSTEM. Please never use this parameter unless you are told to do so from oracle support. Maybe you're playing with your support if you set it by your self. To tune the size of your undo tablespace set the parameter undo_retention. Whit this parameter you tell your DB in seconds how long undo records should be kept within your undo tablespace. Automatic undotuning will be automatically activated if this parameter has a value greater than 0. To determine the correct size you need for your undotablespace use the following example:
    Size of UNDO needed = UNDO_RETENTION x [UNDO block Generation per sec x DB_BLOCK_SIZE] + Overhead(30xDB_BLOCK_SIZE)
Out of these we know UNDO_RETENTION and DB_BLOCK_SIZE
All we need is to find out “UNDO Blocks per second”
Which can be easily fetched from v$undostat
    SQL> SELECT (SUM(undoblks))/ SUM ((end_time - begin_time) * 24*60*60) "UPS"
    2 FROM v$undostat;
    UPS
    8.11985583
    V$undostat
stores data for every 10 mins and begin/end times are start/end time of
those intervals. We multiplied it with 24*60*60 because the difference
between two dates will be in days and to get to seconds, we need it to
    multiply with 24hrs*60mins*60secs
So now we have all the values needed.
    Undo size needed = [8.12 x 2000 x 8192] + [30 x 8192] = 133283840 bytes = 127.11 MB
    Hope this helps!
    yours sincerely

  • Pixel/aspect ratio precise picture resizing without doing math?

Does anybody know how to export pictures with precise dimensions and aspect ratio, without having to do math?
*Use case:* The task at hand...
Imagine you want to export a picture for your desktop on, let's say an iMac, (fullscreen without borders or stretching) ... the display real estate is 1680x1050.
The camera produces 3892x2586 pixels, which translates into an aspect ratio of 3:2.
    Problem:
Aperture allows to export pictures for a certain dimension retaining the original aspect ratio. Exporting with a setting of "Fit within 1680x1050" will produce - however - pictures that are 1576x1050... so the screen of the iMac will not be covered entirely (unless you set it to "fill screen" in the desktop picture system setting that is).
So to get this problem solved one has to crop the image to the right aspect ratio in the first place. Unfortunately though, Aperture does not allow one to use the actual pixel values in the crop dialogue.
Thinking about how to get this problem solved, I had no better idea than to find the lowest common denominator of 1680 and 1050 to cut down those numbers to 8 by 5.
Why doesn't Aperture allow me to put any two numbers into the crop dialogue?! This restriction makes no sense to me.
Does anyone of you have a better solution for this problem or am I overlooking something?
    Thanks

Hi Ian, thanks for that swift reply. Great to see that 2.1 brought this new feature as well.

  • Why won't my picture resize when making it a wallpaper?

My picture I select as my wallpaper won't shrink in size to fit my screen when trying to make it my wallpaper. Apple please fix this issue.

Most computer USB ports don't have enough power to charge an iPad.  Typically, the iPad can only be charged with the supplied adapter.  If your husband's iPad is actually charging, it's charging very, very slow.

  • Pictures resize on iweb page

I've just started to build a web page with iweb. I size all my pictures in photoshop to the right size and then drag them into iphoto. There seems to be a problem with some of the pictures when I pull them into the web page as they reduce in size and it means I can't use them. Would anyone know why this is?
    Thanks

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. If over a certain pixel size iWeb will automatically reduce photos to a smaller size (so really large photos don't overwhelm the iWeb window). To get them back to the size you want select the photo and bring up the Inspector/Metrics pane
and click on the Original Size button.
Also some themes will automatically add a frame/border to graphics/photos when they are added to a page. To remove the frame you'll need to use the Inspector/Graphics pane and remove the frame there.
