Undo/Redo Deleting of Playlists Feature, And More...When Were They Added?

I started "Playlist Cleaning" today, (I have over 500 p/ls), and just noticed that the iTunes 'Edit' menu now(?) includes the option to not only undo the accidental deleting of a playlist (or redo it as well), it also has the ability to undo the dragging and dropping (copying) of a song(s) into a playlist, And, go back and undo several of those tasks as well...pretty cool.
Whenever these features were added, they sure are welcome ones...But if they've been around a while and I just didn't notice them...someone please delete this post...(or not)!!!

I deleted emails from VIPs in Apple Mail and didn't realise they would be deleted from my Mailbox. I have tried to restore from Time Machine but VIPs doesn't appear. Is there any way I can retrieve the deleted emails? I also have bachups on an external hard drive.

You can't download pictures from iCloud by logging into icloud.com. If you deleted pictures from camera roll AND photo stream, the only possibility is preforming a restore from an iCloud backup, assuming the backup has the pictures in it. (Many users have been unable to restore and get back their pictures.)
If the restore doesn't have all the pictures, then they are gone.
In the future, use photo stream to sync photos from an iPhone to a computer, then copy the photos on the computer from the photo stream album into a permanent album. Photo stream pics stay there only for 30 days, and only up to 1000 photos are stored. Don't use photo stream as a storage medium, it's only for copying photos from one device to another. Always copy (either via USB cable or photo stream) to a computer and then move to an album.

How to delete a playlist? AND Get CD music to my iPod?

I just got a new MacBook and authorized it to my iPod and all my iTunes music transferred...
1) They are manual playlists (blue background with a black music note) but when i select them and click delete they wont. The songs within them are grey (like you cant select it) so i cant edit or delete any part of it. I didn't create any of these (they are On-The-Go playlists) How can I delete all of them?
2) I but a CD and it appears in my Music Library but when I sync my iPod the songs wont transfer. What gives?
*Ive moved from Windows to Mac. I didnt have any of these problems with the iPod when it was on Windows, so I dont know whats changed*

'secret' scrolling features and more...

Just when I was going to suggest to Apple that there should be a way to go straight to the top of a web page, I discovered that if you tap or double tap the bar at the top where the time is, it zooms straight to the top. So that's cool. Then I realied that if you double tap the bottom right hand corner, it scrolls down the page a bit.
I also discovered that if you type 0.00000 into the calculator and keep on pressing the zero, it throws you back to the home page. Not useful of course, just curious.
What have you discovered?

If you use two fingers to scroll (hold your fingers like a cub scout salute) you can scroll within webpages that have a pane with embedded scroll bars or scroll text that is larger than the text edit box. In such cases standard one-finger scrolling just scrolls the whole page around but not the contents within the text edit box or the pane.

I tried to backup my bookmarks to move them to new computer, but it didn't work. I deleted the moved folder and now when I try to opn Firefox it says i must first close the existing firefox process or restart the system.

I removed and reinstalled Mozilla and I still get this message. I am assuming that when I deleted the folder that had the bookmarks, something got screwed up in the program. I don't understand why completely deleting the program, downloading it again, and reinstalling it, does not resolve the problem? Also , I want to know how to do this properly, so that I can have my Favorites on the new computer.

Sounds like a "hang at exit" problem. There are several possible causes for that error. See:

How do I get my synced messages to delete on both iPhone and iPad when they're deleted on one or the other?

I have my text messages synced between my iPad and iPhone. When I read them on one device and delete them they do not delete on the other. Is there a setting I can check to make the 'delete' action sync as well?

This should work automatically. Try turning iMessage off and back on again on both devices

If i buy an album off of iTunes, and more songs are later added to the album, will I get the songs free?

Im new to iTunes and I thought I saw some ALbums with a couple of songs. If i buy an incomplete album, and songs are later added to it will i get the songs free/

This happened to me last week- my solution- I went back to the store and 'repurchased' the songs- iTunes alerted me that I had already purchased the songs and asked if I wanted to redownload the song at no charge. I said yes and once the new download was complete- I deleted the songs that only played halfway so I wouldn't have a duplicate that didn't work.

Does Apple plan on restoring oft-used features and functions that were removed in the latest iWork?

In Pages alone, I am sadly missing text-to-table conversions and find and replace of white-space characters, among others. I had a running list going of features I can no longer find, but after about a dozen, I just got sad looking at it and threw it away. Is there anywhere to submit these concerns? Is there any chance Apple will respond with an update that replaces lost functionality?

Cp and rsync -- when are they done?

I'm trying to copy all my Applications from an ext. drive, to my startup drive. I navigate to the root of the ext. drive, then run either cp or rsync.
I can't seem to find a way to get any feedback from either. I tried -vr as options for rsync, and still only get a ">" which just sits there. As well, when I go to check what copying is completed by looking in the Finder, I see no folder there.
Here are the commands I'm trying, from the root of the ext. drive:
sudo cp -Rf Applications Users/home/desktop/'my backup folder'/Applications
and
sudo rsync -vr Applications Users/home/desktop/'my backup folder'/Applications
Is there any way to tell what these things are doing?

from an admin privileged account, at any directory level, try
sudo cp -pvR /Volumes/NameOfExtDrive/Applications /Users/jeffreyellis/Desktop/my\ backup\ folder/
Note the use of the backslash character to "escape" the white space in the filename. Or put the whole target path (/Users/jeffrey.....) inside single quotes ('). Also note that by not including "Applications" in the target, the copied directory will take on the same name in the backup folder. Also note the trailing slash after "my\ backup\ folder/". And of course, this is all on one line.
Or try
sudo rsync -vvauE --delete --progress --stats /Volumes/NameOfExtDrive/Applications /Users/jeffreyellis/Desktop/my\ backup\ folder/
for an incremental update, to include deleting stuff removed in the source
do a man rsync to see what all the options do.

Did you have a rescue email address on your account ? If you did then have you checked the inbox and spam folders on that for the reset email ?

You can't create another account with the same email address, and all purchases are tied to the account that downloaded them - so creating a new account won't give you access to a previous account's purchases.

Help- ipod is full and I can't delete songs/playlist

I need help please. My Ipod is currently full and I can't seem to delete songs/playlist to make more room. My I pod is set to maually update. I can connect my Ipod and higlight the songs/playlist I want to delete and right click and delete. But the Ipod still says I have the same amount of songs on it and the same amout of used MB. The songs/playlist are no longer on my Ipod (I can't play them) but I just don't seem to be making room to add more onto my Ipod. I just seem to be deleting more and more from my Ipod without being able to add more on. Help please???

From what I understand you are deleting the playlists. THe playlist only organizes the songs you have in your library. This will not delete the song from the library. In order to get more space, just click on the small box next to the name of the song (The box will not have a check now). THis way you will have the song on your library but will not be loaded on you ipod.

Undo/Redo Actions for Your Music on Desktop

Right now you can only use the undo/redo actions for playlists.
Add the ability to undo/redo actions you make to "Your Music" in the desktop app.
Menu bar:
Edit --> Undo
Edit --> Redo
Maybe you accidentally removed a song from Your Music and you want to undo it.

How can I import playlists, ratings, and play counts from an old iTunes library into a new one?

After reading countless threads re: how to get the iTunes artwork screensaver to work, I decided to delete my iTunes library file and reimport all of music which resulted in fixing the iTunes artwork screensaver. Unfortunately (and expectedly), my playlists, playcounts, and other information were lost with the creation of a new library. Is there any way to import the playlists, ratings and play counts for my music from an old library file to my current one? I realize this may be complex, but I'm up for the task.

I can't begin to describe how frustrating the screensaver issue has been for me (and I suspect countless others, judging by the number of threads on the topic).
I took your advice, though, just to test it. After backing up my current library.itl, I copied and pasted the old .itl file into its place. As expected the playlists, play counts, etc were instantly restored. And now the screensaver fails to work with the dreaded error 'No iTunes artwork found' which makes me think it IS an issue with the old library file. The only work around I've seen so far is to rebuild the library (which I did).
I'm afraid I'm going to be forced into choosing either a working screen saver or all my itunes data. Very frustrating indeed.
