Undo Sync

I have an iPhone 3G and just got the iPhone 4
Managed to sync the 4 with the "profile" of the 3G on the computer but I wanted to create a new "profile"
Is there a way to undo the sync or reset the 4 to how it was when I opened it from the box?

On your iphone 4, Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings...that should take but a minute or two, and when finished your phone will look just like it did when you pulled it out of the box.

You need to copy everything from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.

I had an OLD black berry (think the very first version) that i was using as a temporary phone while Bell sorted somethings out. Needless to say i got a Storm 2 9550 to replace that, however did not do a transfer sync right at once.
So both phones ended up having different contacts, sms, etc. Today i went and did the transfer, and instead of adding what wasnt there, and keeping what was it put only the old phones info on it, (deleting?) the new phones information.
After completing the sync, my Outlook will no longer open, so i cannot see if the changes are there too.
PLEASE HELP!!! is there any way to undo the sync?????????

Did you by chance happen to copy all of your contacts to your SIM card (or, conversely, to your phone)? If so, then you have a backup in the phone. Otherwise, I think you're out of luck.
If you've had to re-enter everything, I recommend copying all of the entries in your phone to the SIM card (on the phone, go to Phonebook Menu>Copy>All to SIM). On the other hand, if you typically store everything on the SIM card, copy "all to phone". Now you have a backup.

I synced to move all to a new computer but after I moved successfully, when I cleaned off the old one and forgot to undo sync it cleaned off my new one.

I successfully moved my info, favorites etc., to a new laptop with the sync feature, but when I cleaned off all my info from my old internet computer and forgot to undo the sync, it then synced and cleaned off my new one. Help! Can I get my favorites and other stuff back???

I can very well empathize and it hard for me to say it, but you can not get anything back - because there's nothing left anymore, at least not on Mozilla servers.

I just upgradede from 1.3 to 3. I used to make an xtra service when i created dvd with pic for people, i normally made a quick BW version of all pics and include, then the had an idea about how i it could be in BW.
I just changed 1 pic, synced all the pics (treatment, black and white), exported the pic and then made an undo to bring all the pics back to the look they had before the save.
If i try the same in 3, the undo offers me to undo "save historie state for image".
Any quick ways of bringing back the "undo settings" from 1.3 or another way to quickly make the BW version (export)

Create Virtual copies. (Ctrl+')
Convert to BW (V)
Export.
Delete Virtual copies.
Creating VCs allows you to quickly filter them out of master files.

How can I reverse or undo syncing my snapchat with my contacts?

I synced my snapchat account with my contacts, and now it's showing their names rather then their usernames. This is super annoying -_-. Can anyone please help me reverse this.

Only if the email was verified by that user. You can login to the account and delete the account from the manage settings where you set up this account.
The certificate will expire in no longer than an hour and the verification email I think only lasts 24 hours. So if this is the case, no harm done. Just set up the account in the email you want and remove the account that has the wrong email .

Undo sync from Backup Assistant

I received a backup reminder notification on my cell. I swiped the message to read it in its entirety and it automatically started syncing. It said 1368 contacts sent!!!
I recently used the Backup Assistant to recover my contacts from a hard reset and since then I had deleted those unwanted 1368 contacts! It has taken me days/weeks to do so. PLEASE help me revert my contacts back to the shorter, most recent list. I had 1800 contacts, and trying to clean them up. Backup Assistant just dropped them all back in.

I'm sorry to learn of any issues with backing up your device! I'm glad you still have the contacts, since you mentioned that they came back into the device.
Which model device do you have? You are in the Apple forum, so I assume you have an iPhone? Have you tried to restore the contacts via iTunes? Do you see all the same contacts on iTunes that you see at http://vz.to/TKOl9V ?

Lost Contact's Undo Syncing

I have just lost all my contacts and outlook 2003 when I tried to sync them. How can I get them back.

First, put a least one contact in Outlook, it can be fake, doesn't matter.
Next, under preferences in itunes, and I beleive that in windows preferences is in the Edit menu, make sure that auto sync when an ipod/iphone is connected is disabled.
Next, when you connect your phone, with itunes running, right click it in the device pane on the right side, select "reset warnings".
Next, sync your phone. A popup should appear regarding your contacts, asking to "replace" or "merge".
Select merge.

The iphone will mirror the selected content of your computer.
Make sure everything is on your computer. Select what you want on your iphone, sync

How can I undo an add-on settings sync?

I use Firefox Sync. As far as I can tell, bookmarks synced well. Tabs didn’t but that’s probably due to having opened to many on my main machine. Also add-ons synced i. e. the Firefox on a Ubuntu laptop now has all the add-ons that my home computer Firefox has. Unfortunately, the sync reset all of the settings in some add-ons. So, for example, in LeechBlock the list of websites that I’d like to block, the schedule and all the rules are gone. How can I undo the last sync? Or is there a way to make my main computer the master in all syncs?

The prefs that are set by an extension are usually not included in the Sync, so you get the default setting if you sync an extension from one computer to another.
Only prefs that have a corresponding services.sync.prefs.sync.* pref that is set to true will be synced to other devices.
If you want to sync additional prefs then you can create a corresponding Boolean sync pref yourself and set the value to true.

Hello, I have a big problem with Firefox: Session Manager & Undo Closed Tab addons are not working, Sync Is not working. History is working. How to fix this?

Firefox remembers history but doesn't remember closed tabs, sessions.
It happened after updating Fox to v. 19.0.2 on one computer.
In Firefox Options is set Use Custom Settings For History, everything is checked except Always Use Private Browsing Mode. So I am not in private browsing.
When I press on Undo Closed Button nothing happens & in session manager Save Session Button is greyed out. I've tried installing other add-ons that can remember tabs. tried to disable/reinstall these 2 add-ons. Did't help. On my 2nd computer I have same add-ons, same settings and they are working normally. on 3rd computer undo closed tabs works also. How to fix this? I decided to ask before doing Firefox Reset...
Sync is a separate problem. It works, but quite often it logs me out of Sync account. Then I can log in only using long recovery key and password (choosing option I don't have device with me because it does not accept keys for pairing device.)

I have exactly the same settings in Options (in both computers)
for history, these 2 add-ons and all other stuff in Options. The only difference is that on 1 pc sessions can be saved and closed tabs can be reopened, on other main pc they stopped to work. + no any other add-on that does similar things works on this pc.
It is also interesting that I can reopen closed visited sites from History Panel, but not by pressing the Button. For now I only manually bookmark links to a temporary folder.
Recently (some 2 month ago) I pressed x and Firefox closed all tabs without saving them without displaying save & quit pop up.
so I changed 4 settings in about.config
browser.tabs.warn on close true
browser.warn on quit true
browser.warn on restart true
browser.show.quit warning true
but the problem with sessions appeared only 1 week ago.
So I guess the problem is not with the History settings or other settings. Seems that something responsible for button or for storing info about tabs/sessions got corrupted. :(

Only if you have a more recent backup with which to restore from - if you've only got the one from 3 months ago then you will be limited to what was on that.

Synced new phone with old phone settings. Can I undo?

I recently upgraded from an iPhone 3gs to a 4. I used the 4 for three months before I synced it to my iTunes. (I just used iCloud for contacts...etc). When I plugged in my new phone it synced to the settings from my 3gs. How do I get all of my photos, messages and contacts back? Can I "undo" the restore if I it was never backed up to my computer in the first place?
Can taking it to the Apple store help?

Undo my iPhone sync?

I have an iPhone, iMac and a MobileMe account and was trying to merge all my data together. I noticed that some of my iPhone contacts were not on my iMac or MobileMe account. I thought the settings were correct when I did a sync, but the data on my iPhone got replaced with the smaller database. Is there any way to undo a sync back to an older iPhone backup?

You can erase all content on the iPhone by going to settings>general>erase all content and settings
If you do not want to lose all the data on your iPhone you'll have to manually delete the stuff off the iPhone you don't want.
Go into the summary page of your phone in iTunes and untick the syncing options etc.
If you no longer have the iPod and don't want any of the content from it you can delete the backup from your computer and it will forget you ever had it
