Uneditable areas in a template.

Hi guy,
I am looking for a way to make certain areas in a template uneditable. I know I can make areas editable, but how can I prevent other parts from getting edited?

By default, if code resides outside an  those portions of the child page spawned from DWTemplate are NOT EDITABLE. The only way you can edit code outside editable regions is to open the original DWTemplate.
Now if your question is "how do I convert an editable region into a non-editable region?"
The answer is open your DWTemplate and re-edit it by adding new editable regions and/or taking away old ones. I hope this makes sense.

Uneditable areas Dreamweaver CS4 templates

Hi, I set up my website with Dreamweaver CS4 and at the time made the body section editable only.
I believe that by default this also leaves the title tags editable in the head section (which they are).
I now want to make the meta tags and meta title section editable as well in the template so every page in my site has an individual editable area in the head of the HTML code which I can insert different information for each page that will not affect other pages upon saving.
So my question would be how can I convert the locked down code in the head of my template page back to editable regions.

Hi, sorry thought I had this template problem fixed.
Still trying to make the meta tags in my website template editable but when I apply the change below the meta tags seem to disappear.
I've put an example of what I currently have and what I am trying but with no success.
If anyone can spot any mistakes I would really appreciate it.

Where are the MetaData Templates located in PS C6 on a Mac?

Where are the MetaData Templates located in PS C6 on a Mac that you can add your contact and copyright information to?
On a Windows machine they are located in Owner/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/XMP. I have some templates that I want to copy from a Windows laptop over to a Macbook Pro.

I’m on Mac OS 10.6.8 and there it seems to be
~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/XMP/Metadata Templates
I think as of OS 10.7 Macintosh hides the Library, but one can get there by alt-clicking the Go-menu and selecting it from there … or something.

You probably do want 'Other Standard LMSs' selected, unless you specifically want to track to one of the other options in that LMS drop-down, correct?
The issue you're finding is that it's using the 'MultiSco' path incorrectly?
It should be using the 'Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 7\Templates\Publish\LMS\Standard\SCORM' path?
I don't have CP8 setup yet so can't duplicate the issue.
If you're sure that's the problem, just backup the '\MultiSco\SCORM\1_2\Default.htm' and copy over the proper path/files from the SCORM directory... So if CP is going to insist on an incorrect path, at least you can put the correct file where it's going to grab from.
Or, of course, you can just swap out after publishing, right?

Some text do look like they were final texts, that cannot be filled, but they are also place holders, for example the "Season's Greetings".Have you really clicked on each and every text, to see if they need filling in?

How to config Dreamweaver to open .pt files which are essentially html templates?

I am a python developer. I want to use my Dreamweaver5.5 to open some .pt page template which are essentially html templates. However, the file can only be edited in the code view. The Split view and Disign view are disabled. Could someone tell me how to configurate Dreamweaver to treat .pt file like .html file?

In investigating it for this article, it was not possible to open .pt (page template) files using Dreamweaver, which is a deal breaker, as page templates are certainly part of the theming process. It's not known if this is merely a configuration error, but several attempts at configuring Dreamweaver to open .pt files failed.

The pictures show you are using "Craft". I just opened that same template and in both modes there is visible content.
You indicate that you have only opened to check and not added content, in which case I suggest you try different templates and check how they present content, if others behave in a similar manner, it may indicate an installation isssue.
If you close and re-open the same template and have the same problems - have you opened the Layout options and changed the template ? If not and you still have this issue, - in your situation I would un-install iBA and re-install.

"There are no workflows templates available" error but actually workflow exist

I am using SharePoint 2013 on-premise farm. The workflow manager 1.0 is installed although we do not build any workflow on that.
On a site collection, when user try to create a workflow on "Pages" library, the error "There are no workflows templates available" occur. Checking ULS log there is nothing useful

By using SharePoint Designer 2013 we can see the workflows "Publishing approval" exist. I clicked on "Publish" button on SharePoint Designer, the problem is fixed. User can see the workflow "Publishing approval" when he try
to create a workflow on "Pages" library.
However, some hours later user call and said the problem recoccur. I checked with Designer the workflow still exist and no change for "Last modified time". If I clicked on "Publish" again it will fix again.
My question is,
How can we check whether a workflow have been published? Any parameter?
How can we "unpublish" a workflow?
Any event could "unpublish" of a workflow?

According to your description, you are unable to get the workflows "Publishing approval" template in SharePoint UI.
Make sure you have activate the Publishing Approval Workflow feature. If you have activate the Publishing Approval Workflow feature, deactivate it and active it again.
Site Settings -> Site Collection Administration ->Site collection features ->activate Publishing Approval Workflow feature.

We can check whether the workflow is existing in the SharePoint UI.
2.How can we "unpublish" a workflow?
Under normal circumstances, we aren’t "unpublish" a workflow.
3.Any event could "unpublish" of a workflow?
Deactivate the feature which is related to the workflow.

Where are FOP/PDF template substution strings defined/generated?

Hi!
I am working with the FOP / PDF templates. Can anyone tell me where substitution strings like "#PRN_TEMPLATE_HEADER_ROW#" defined or generated?
What are all the substitution strings that can be used in FOP/PDF templates? What are their definitions?

Those strings are used when printing report regions. So when you have a report, you'll find a number of customization attributes on the print attributes page, those attributes correspond to these substitution strings. When you create your own generic columns XSL-FO report layout under Shared Components, all substitution strings are listed in the item level help.

Web - 500 images max? Why are the flash templates limited to 500?

Is there any reason for limiting the templates to 500? is there a work-around?

On a more serious note, nobody should be subject to waiting while LR processes and uploads over 2000 images. Even on a fast machine that would take some serious time.
I have to wonder if LR is the best application for such large numbers of images. I'd suspect there are better programs out there, ones that don't insist on re-rendering the images every time and re-uploading them all. Dreamweaver comes to mind as an obvious choice.
Should you insist on using LR, possibly consider breaking the images up into galleries. The folks at Theturninggate have some templates that allow you to organize galleries. I haven't used them, so I don't know specifics, but they look like they do some really neat stuff, and they have some automation options to help make it easier.

Where on Mac HD are the Master Templates that i have created?

now i miss my master templates folders i created on the old system.
i try to search my time machine but where can i find the templates?

Aaaargh!!! Why are alle my templates worthless in the new Pages?!?

All my custom sections are gone, does anybody know how to get them back? I have templates with over 70 custom sections I can no longer use.. And it looks like it is not even possible to reproduce these templates.

open your application support folder in your library and go to pages (iwork). Move all your templates to the deskop. Click on them to open them. Pages will ask to import them. There you are.

Are Disc Menu Templates Restricted to Certain Versions of Premiere Elements

I ask this question after visiting the movipix site to look at what templates I might add to my PrE 9 program. This got me to wondering if templates are restricted to certain versions of PrE. After reading various posts in this forum I thought I was getting the message that any templates from Premiere Elements 4 to Premiere Elements 10 were interchangeable. It was a matter of inserting the subfolder from one program into the category folder of another program?
If I were to order a template from the movipix website would I have to check to make sure which versions it would work in? I read where version 9 had some problems with some templates that would not allow menu background video or pictures to show up on the burned dvd even though it was in preview before burning. AT Romano had played with some of the templates but I never could find out if the problem was resolved by Adobe.

Thank you for your response. A wealth of information. Quite a bit of it I had already read. You've gone to a lot of work. Of most interest to me were a couple of posts. One in this forum "Using Disc Menus from Premiere Elements 4 in Premiere Elements 12". (Sorry I didn't copy the message #). These posts are explaining pretty much how to install additonal templates, either between versions, or downloaded templates? Very good. One question on the Elements Village post though. You mentioned deselecting "Read Only" in the properties dialog box of the folder to be transferred. Is this only necessary if transferring from one computer to another? or should this be done when transferring from one PrE version to another within the same computer?
I think you have answered my question on using menu templates across the board from PrE version 4 thru 12. Just a matter of getting them in the correct folders as you have pointed out in your various posts. And it appears that only PrE 9 had the issues that didn't get fixed by Adobe as far as menu background & audio not getting burned to disc?
To give more details on the Menu and Scene Selection buttons. I should have said PLAY ALL instead of Menu. I did not modify them. I merely dragged the Play All button to the bottom left and the Scene button to the bottom right of the Main Menu page. The arrows pointing to them went along with the text. But on the burned DVD they seem to be reversed when the arrow is highlighting the choice to be made. Play All selects Scenes and vice versa. I probably won't be using this template again anyway but was interesting.
Not sure where to post this next question. Is there a way to start a post? where members can list a few of their favorite Disc Menu Templates that they use all the time? Kind of a vague question but I'm guessing out of all of the available templates in each of the versions of PrE only a few get used over and over. As the list would grow people could vote (?) on various ones and some kind of master list might be produced for future use or download. For example: PrE version (or a downloaded version like from Movipix ) used, templates used, categories (ie:general,entertainment, etc.) It seems as though a new version introduced adds some templates and takes some away. Then people are left looking or trying to figure out how to replace them (such as transferring them as we have been discussing)

I'm trying to type wedding invitation envelopes which are 5x7 and I don't know how to create the format. In the pages area, the available templates are all standard envelope sizes. How do I create the 5x7 format template

I'm trying to print 5X& envelopes. In pages, the templates are all standard sized. How do I create a 5x7 envelope template so I can merge my addresses?

I presume you are using the Pages application, is that correct?
So start off by launching Pages and choose one of the regular envelope styles. Traditional works well for me.
Next go to the File menu and select Page setup. From the menu that says Paper Size select Manage Custom Sizes. In the resulting dialog, there should be a button on the left labeled "+". Click it. In the Paper Size area, select Width 5 in and Height 7 in. Name the size (where it says "untitled" something descriptive like "5 x 7 envelope". Click the OK button. The Paper Size menu here should now say the description you gave it. Click OK again. Your work area should now be a 5 x 7 envelope.
