Unexpected dot's on background PS CS5

I've just tried CS5.
I've oppened file in ACR and without any changes in preferances opened in PS but some strange dot's appeared on background (see picture). This dots is barelly visible but still they exist and whit bg is not white as it shuld be.
(on picture - original file + two layers with brightness at -150 just to make problem more visible.)
This file from Canon if it does matter. In ACR everything looks ok, also it was perfectly ok with the same files in CS4. White background originaly white (255) as shot.
First I thought that it is some noise corrcteion new features that causes this result - but I've tried change each control in ACR at once and they don't seem to affect anything (yet if I level brightness to maximum in ACR dots disappeared in PS - it is not a solution).
This issue is 100% repeatable.
Does anyone has an idea what is wrong?
thx.

I never convert to 8 bit, but when I tried such a conversion I was able to reproduce the problem (with ACR 6.2).
Apparently there is some slight math error when converting to 8 bit data directly from Camera Raw.
A workaround is to convert to 16 bits/channel data.

Why does a new desktop creation unexpectedly initiate with a background differing from the originating desktop? How can I control or eliminate this behavior?

CT, I suspect that I either mistated the question or don't understand how to set the default back ground.  In any case, with the background that I have set in system settings, and this is the background to which my sessions consistantly boot, new desktops come up for the second or up to the third background with this initially set background. Then in the third or fourth desktop creation (I seldom go beyond four), the background for the new desktop, is one that I was using one or two months ago...

    Hi,
are you using the Bounced Mails Framework to manage you mails? If so, one possible explanation is that BMF blocks untrusted messages.
To configure BMF options, go to the Administration workset and edit the list of trusted addresses in BMF.

  • Workspace Background missing CS5

Can anyone assist with the following?
I am running CS4 on a mac pro. I have recently downloaded the trial version of CS5. The installation appeared to have installed correctly, indeed it operates quite normally with one exception ....
I can see my desktop through what should be the workspace background. I have all the CS5 menus in the correct places ie at the top of the screen, the tools to left and the palettes to the right but the centre working area is completely transparent so much so that I can see any open programs running. In short if I open CS5 and do nothing at all the workspace background is missing. If I open an image and size it accordingly CS5 appears visually quite normal until I close the image when the desktop can once again be seen.
I have tried resetting the workspace. I have tried all the pre loaded workspaces each provides the same problem. I have 'Googled' this issue without success.

Nice to meet you. My first Mac was a IIcx. Is that "long-time" enough?
I'm fully capable of understanding when marketing mumbo-jumbo is being pushed. But I'm more inclined to believe an actual Photoshop developer than groundless conspiracy theories from someone in a forum. Why would Adobe need to market this feature? No reasonable customer is going to return a Photoshop Mac license, return their Mac and go back to using Windows because they are susprised by being able to see through to the desktop. Adobe has nothing to gain from this feature, except what John Nack described.
UIs are not designed to cater to an imaginary mass migration. UIs are designed to improve productivity.
To think Adobe is trying to help a migration from one platform to another is insanity. The relationship between Apple and Adobe is no better than the relationship between Microsoft and Adobe. Adobe does not care what platform you use. They do not sell OS's.
You clearly did not read Nack's full post or else you would have noticed the discussion of apps outside the Adobe realm. There are plenty of Mac apps that use the full screen... even before OSX. Kai, anyone? If you are so put off by this idea, you may want to invest in incontinence apparel prior to upgrading to Lion, which will offer even more fullscreen apps.
A return tip... just because people might read your posts... doesn't mean you are in any way believed.

  • Lenovo Y50-70 UHD display - Gray dots on black background colour just appeared suddenly

Hi support technicians and assistants. 1 month ago 2 gray dots just appeared suddenly on my UHD display on the Lenovo Y50-70. Those can be seen only on black background. The dots are 3 mm long and 2 mm wide and the other one it's smaller. What can I do to fix those? They are very disturbing when I do something on black background! Thank you. If needed I can send pictures.

There are many gray pixels, visible on black background, in that 2 faulty areas because it is a UHD display. A 3 by 2 mm area means many pixels not only a few and there are 2 small areas like this one. I will try the recommandations and return a reply. Thank you.neokenchi wrote:
hi RomulusDaniel, From your description, it looks like you have a stuck pixel. Try to use a software like jscreenfix to fix it. Other methods requires you to put a pressure on the LCD screen (like in this wiki article). If you have a 3mm, 2mm, and a smaller dead pixel (total of 3), then I recommend you contact lenovo and report your findings. Lenovo Warranty Policy on Dead Pixel / Bad Pixel / Defective Pixel (In warranty)  Regards

  • How can I change Dreamweaver editor backgrounds in CS5.5

I've recently upgraded from DW8 and have two small problems with the user interface.
    1) I can't easily read the inactive document tabs on the documents bar (or whatever it is called) because the text is black and the background is dark gray.  Is there a way round this?
    2) In various HTML documents I've got library items for navigation bars where the links are white or #ffffcc.  Dreamweaver marks the library by using a #ffffcc background so they become unreadable in design view.  (Actually it used to do this in Dreamweaver MX and I was so glad it was sorted in DW8).  I've tried changing preferences HTML... Library but this only seems to affect code view.   Is there something I'm missing?
    Thanks

Disable CSS rendering.  View > Style Rendering > un-tick Display Styles.
Or use a Design Time Style Sheet and change your link colors to something darker.

  • Strokes in symbols not flattening properly with other background elements (CS5 & CS6)

    Hi There,
We have a bunch of round button symbols for navigational elements which are constructed in the following way:
Circle symbol with a fill and stroke
Circle symbol placed into button symbols (e.g. magnifying glass or arrow)
    Button symbols placed onto page
This allows us to update the background circle symbol and have all the buttons (about 30 of them) update at once.
But when the symbols render on a dark background, they look like badly clear-cut raster images - i.e. the antialiased edges look like they've been flattened on white instead of merging with the background colour like a 24bit png.
Hopefully you can see the kind of bitsy edge in the image below to see what I mean:
I don't recall having this issue in the past - I've fiddled with the stroke settings but still no luck, here are the settings as they currently stand:
Is there a setting that controls this behavior that I might've changed or missed?
    Cheers
    Ben

There's a dirty little secret with 1-pixel strokes: They're not actually center-aligned. (How could they be and still stay sharp?) So your single-pixel stroke is actually aligned to the inside. And it's anti-aliased. What you're most likely noticing is the lightly-colored fill showing through the semi-transparent portions of the stroke.
A couple ideas on how to fix this: a) Set stroke width to 2px, center-aligned, and choose "Fill over stroke" under Stroke Options, b) Leave stroke width at 1px, align outside, and decrease the object dimensions by 1px, c) Set stroke to None and add the stroke using Photoshop Live Effects. Somehow, no matter which position is chosen for stroke alignment within Photoshop Live Effects, fill bleed-through along the outer edges is not a problem. However, every solution will change how the circle is rendered somewhat, so finding the best solution requires trial and error.

  • Removing background noise CS5

Within my Premiere Pro project I extracted audio to soundbooth and used the Clean Up Audio > Capture Noise Print to reduce background noise.
I set the Noise Reduction to 100% and Reduce By 30db which is what sounded best.
It did indeed removed the background noise but made the audio as if it was coming out of a can.
Here is the Original Premiere Pro asset and the After result by Soundbooth.

    AFTER         https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufMeEepsoGQ
    Any suggestions?  Thxs.

Reduce the settings, try 50% and 15db, see what that sounds like.

  • Does Fireworks CS5.5 come in 64 bit format?

    Background:
I was just setting up Acrobat X Pro to use Fireworks as its graphic editor, instead of Photoshop on my win7 64 bit machine.
I looked in the Win 7 Program files where all the 64 bit programs are found, only to find that there were no Adobe files there at all.
They are all in the X86 program file folder - including Fireworks.
So for the last few months I have been thinking that I was running 64 bit software and am not.
Which could well explain why I have had major problems running other Adobe programs.
I now recollect that when I originally installed CS5.5, I was asked if it should be 64 bit or 32 bit, and I selected 64 bit.
However, after the installation failed about 3 times, and was not 100% installed on the final one, it took about 2 days and calls to the help desk to install it so that it worked at all.
It may well be that on the final successful installation, I missed the option to install the 64 bit version, as by this time I was totally fed up with the whole process.
    Questions?
    Should I :
    1. Leave well alone?
    2. Delete them and re-install as 64 bit programs
    3. Just install the 64 bit version and leave the 32 bit ones hogging disk space?
    4. Does the 64 bit version run any quicker or better than the 32 bit one?
I don't want to risk affecting my CS4 version, and I seem to remember getting warnings that to delete CS5.5  would damage my CS4 files - or was it the other way round?
How do I go about it without ending up in a mess, and are there any pitfalls to watch out for?
What would you do? (no rude answers please )
    Howard Walker

    Quote from the Adobe Packaging:
    System requirements
.Intel Pentium* 4 or AMD Athlon 64 processor.
While both these processors are capable of running both 32 and 64 bit software, why are they needed if all the suite is 32 bit?
While I do not doubt that you are correct, all the CS5.51 suite including Photoshop are installed in the X86 folder:
Photoshop is also installed in the 64 bit folder all by itself.
So it seems that the only program that actually needs 64 bit architecture is Photoshop,  one of the few programs in the suite that I never use, as Fireworks fills all the needs of normal web graphics. I presume that this is a hint that Fireworks will not be available in future releases.
    All very complicated and unexpected.
As to CS4 and CS5 remaining in the same folder, CS5.5 running on a 64 bit system, does not have the capability to code or maintain my existing websites, which are all written in standard asp and use access databases, as are millions of other websites that were written using Dreamweaver. That was never mentioned in the release notes, or many people would not have bothered to upgrade.  I have no choice but to retain CS4 until I have re-written every one, which will not be done in a month or 6!
What is in the release notes, is that to remove CS4 after CS5.5 is installed, will kill the registry entries for CS5.5.
After all the hassle that went into installing CS5.5 in the first place, I don't want to do that again.
If Adobe wrote technically correct software, there should be no problem in uninstalling CS4. Do it at your peril!
    Thanks for your input Jim.

  • Can't view borderless tables on black background - please help.

In CS3, when you viewed a table on a black background, the table was visible because of a dotted white line. In CS4 (I'm on a Mac by they way) the table outline was only black and I read that they never fixed this issue.
Does anyone know how I can view a borderless tables against a black background in CS5? I want to change that dotted line to white.
I appreciate any feedback. This issue is driving me nuts.
    Thanks!

  • CS5 & Manage Custom Sizes when printing.

Every time I try to “manage custom sizes” when printing, Photoshop “quits unexpectedly.” I am using Photoshop CS5, and Epson 7800, and Mac Yosemite. I’ve done all the updates, and reinstalled the driver. Any ideas on troubleshooting?

I am having the exact same problem with an Epson 3880.  I chatted with Epson support earlier today and they suggested that I uninstall the drivers and support software and reinstall.  I followed their instructions and the result was the same.  I did save my image file to a TIFF format and then opened it under Preview and when I used file->print and selected "manage custom sizes" it brought up the custom size menu as expected.  I also attempted this using Photoshop Elements 11 and the "manage custom sizes" menu appeared only in this case when I selected "Cancel" Elements crashed too.
It is not clear to me how to proceed with kglad's recommendation to "shutdown running processes in a logical manner".  I don't know what a logical manner might be.
Anyway, I have just done a complete uninstall of Photoshop CS5 and I'm about to reinstall it from the distribution DVD.  I think I'll test the "manage custom sizes" before I install the updates this time.
I'd sure appreciate it if you come up with anything, that you would post it here.  Thanks
So, I uninstalled Photoshop 5, restarted my iMac, and reinstalled Photoshop CS5.  When I attempted to Manage Custom Sizes, Photoshop CS5 blew up.
I find that I can add custom sizes and manage them from Preview and then use them in Photoshop.  So, I guess that will have to suffice until someone comes up with a fix.  Given that Photoshop CS5 is no longer supported that will probably be never.
Post here if something better comes along.

I can't reproduce this, Lighten works without a problem on a completely black background here, CS5 on Windows. Also the jpg sample of the attached image has a background with complete black of R=0, G=0, B=0 on all edges, so putting it on the same background should make no difference.
It seems to depend on what exact mix of the background color. On pure black it did look like it worked OK, but on some intermediate dark colors, it didn't work the way it would have in Photoshop:  (This is set to lighten, just like my previous post.)

  • Running Photoshop CS5 Extended on Windows 7.

Editing:   Is there a way to change a black background to a transparent one. I want to use colored swirls in some editing but without the background.

Since CS5 is no longer a current version, you can not swap the platform. However, you are eligible for the upgrade to CS6, and you can swap the platform then. See this page.
You should consider the Photoshop/Lightroom CC Photography package.
