Unexpected error closing Photoshop CC 2014 (windows)

I just downloaded PS CC 2014 and everytime I open it I get an unexpected error which is force closing PS.  There's no code attached to the error, its just force closing PS.

    Photoshop CCもしくはCS6の32bit版の場合、TWAINプラグインをインストールすることが可能です。

I also began to install the new Lightroom CC (2015) and updated Photoshop 2014 to version 2014 2.2 (64bit) and Bridge.to 6.1.0.116 x64 all from the Creative Cloud Apps. I had things to do and when I came back, Lightroom had installed, with a new icon just called Lightroom and Photoshop and Bridge had failed to complete the download, according to creative Cloud. I tried everything I could think of to get them to finish the download and got a message saying that bridge was corrupt and nothing at all for Photoshop.
In desperation I restarted my computer and opened Creative Cloud and the downloads started again! They eventually installed with no help from me and now work properly. When you open the new Lightroom it prompts you to let it build a new catalogue. No problem other than you now have two versions of Lightroom, one identified as v5.7.1 64-bit, the other just as Lightroom. You then have to rename the icon to CC (2015).
Basically, some of these updates are a pain with many problems. Looking for information on problems can take forever. Getting help is such a time waster and some of the live help personnel do not seem to be very well trained. The whole Photoshop system seems to have got way too big to be easily handled. It needs to be reorganized. [End of rant]

  • ZOPSignCmd Extensions Not Loading In Photoshop CC 2014 Windows

I have an unexpected problem. I have been redeploying my Configurator extensions into HTML5 extensions for Photoshop CC 2014.
I have two extensions that are packaged together using Davide Barranca's excellent tutorial on how to package extensions (http://www.davidebarranca.com/2014/05/html-panels-tips-10-packaging-zxp-installers/).
If I install the two extensions separately, they both install into Photoshop. If I package the extensions together in a ZXP file, Extension Manager CC shows that they have been installed, but when I open Photoshop CC 2014, Extensions is grayed out (this is on Windows 7). When I take the same extension package and try to install on a Mac into Photoshop CC 2014, they install fine.
What is strange about the above is two weeks ago I was doing the same thing and the packaged ZXP file installed fine into Windows 7 Photoshop CC 2014 (I have made some changes to the extensions and this is why I am re-testing them).
The only change that has occurred between the two versions is some re-editing of the postscripts.jsx file. Everything else is the same including the MXI file.
I am not a Windows person, so I am at a complete loss as to why something worked and now is not working.
If anyone can give me some insight into what is happening I would be eternally grateful.
    Sam

In the Windows 7 computer I just have Photoshop CC 2014 no Photoshop CC.
I tried this below and it did not install the two extension even though the Extension Manager CC said they were installed.

  • Photoshop CC 2014 Windows 7 Crash

I run Windows 7, I have been using Photoshop CC 2014 without issue for over two months. It now crashes as soon as I launch and says : Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 has stopped working.
I have reinstalled my AMD HD 7570 driver plug ins, removed and reinstalled every combo of the CC Suite, done everything I know to trouble shoot the issue.
My error reads as follows :Problem signature:   Problem Event Name:APPCRASH   Application Name:Photoshop.exe   Application Version:15.0.0.58   Application Timestamp:536b438e   Fault Module Name:aticaldd64.dll   Fault Module Version:6.14.10.1607   Fault Module Timestamp:4ea7647e   Exception Code:c0000005   Exception Offset:0000000000441382   OS Version:6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3   Locale ID:1033   Additional Information 1:dd55   Additional Information 2:dd55198a6a1e8431eebab190b03ca471   Additional Information 3:8159   Additional Information 4:815945626f49fa66c5afed4cff35fc96  --- HELP - I am unable to figure out my issue on my own.

The ATI driver seems to be crashing Noel I believe wrote for the ATI 7000 series you should be using  something like ATI catalysis 14.4 is that the version you re-installed?

  • Photoshop CC 2014 - Window Libraries Missing

Watched the Adobe Keynote and looked at Help files about using this new feature. In my Photoshop CC 2014 under Window I should have a Libraries option. I don't. It just goes from Layers to Measurement Log, nothing in between. I checked for updates through Creative Cloud and it said I am up to date. I reset preferences. No luck. What am I missing? Thanks.

For anyone else with this problem it is a pain but, yes Arpit is correct. Uninstall Photoshop CC 2014.1, go to the Adobe site and sign in, go to Apps, download Photoshop CC 2014 again and install. It should open as 2014.2. Then you can see Windows>Libraries
I'm not sure why my system repeatedly would not see there was an update to Photoshop. That seems like a bug to me for a subscription based service. Wonder what else I might be missing out on?
Now I hope my Libraries content (which shows up in Photoshop) will now start showing up in the cloud online. It is missing. Ugh.
    Hope this helps.

  • Error message "Photoshop cc requires windows 7 or later"

Hi when using Bridge cc and clicking to open any image the error message appears "Photoshop cc requires windows 7 or later"
    I am using windows 8.1
    P

Even if it were possible, it would not be wise to have XP connected to internet, because it is not maintained any more, the latest security update was for Internet Explorer (I think for the SSH hole), and now all maintenance is stopped. I have technical installations with XP, that I cannot upgrade to W7 or 8, and I have disconnected internet for safety.
So do as Csound (   ) says, when possible.

  • Installation error with Photoshop CC 2014

I'm having a problem installing Photoshop CC 2014 on my Windows 7 64bit pc.  I am using the CC panel to install the software and it indicates it is installed, but when I open the software after I get past the splash screen I get a popup saying Photoshop CC has stopped working and my only option is to close it and try again.  I have tried uninstalling the software via Windows control panel and reinstalling via the CC panel after a reboot, but to no avail. Any ideas ?

    Hi MMSmyth,
Please use the CC Cleaner tool ( Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 ) to remove the software completely.
    > Disable all Non-Microsoft Startup Services. (Ref : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-services-windows.html )
    > Disable all the Antivirus softwares like CA, Norton,Mc Afee etc. temporarily from the computer.
Reboot and try installing from CC and check.
    Regards,

  • "Unexpected error occurred" message on Develop window

I get a message "unexpected error occurred" when I go to the "Develop" screen. I thought I had a bad card, so I used my second card to take a photo then import it. The same error message appeared on the "Develop" screen. I shut my computer down and rebooted it, but the same message occurred. I'm stumped. Any ideas what might be going on?

Are you running Lr 1.4? If so, uninstall and install the previous 1.3.1 release.

  • Error when closing Photoshop CS5 Ext- Windows 7

This isn't a big issue, because at least it happens when I'm done with PS and not while I'm using it, but whenever I exit the program, whether by using the X in the corner or by using File->Close, I get an error afterwards saying "Adobe Photoshop CS5 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program."
Is there anyway to stop this from happening, because it is rather annoying after a while.

    "Thank you for your support".
For what it's worth scratch what I said above about 12.0.1 fixing my own issues.  I'm occasionally seeing Photoshop hanging around after exiting; I just made another post on the subject myself.  Not seeing crashes at that point though.
I'll bet Chris Cox will find interesting your observation about being a user vs. administrator.
Photoshop may require write access to files or registry entries that would not necessarily be available to it if you're using the app as a different user than the account under which it was installed.  It will be very interesting to hear what the resolution to this is.  I believe I will create another user and try it to learn what it's trying to access.

  • Photoshop CC 2014 Windows crashes on startup if plugins installed

Common commercial plug-ins (e.g. Shine-off, Portrait Professional) will not automatically install into this Windows version of Photoshop.
Nik filters will install manually, the installer does not recognize this version of PS, but the program crashes shortly after launch if the plug-ins are installed.
    No plug-ins, program runs.
I also have PS CC 2014 installed in OSX Maverick and the Mac plugins, specifically Nik filters, will install and work.
I do not see any entries for PS CC 2014 in the Program files/x86 directory as there are for every other windows version of PS suggesting a programming change.
I hope this is simply more buggy Adobe programming and not a deliberate attempt to sabotage Windows users and the plug-in market. If PS CC 2014 for Windows is not compatible with existing plug-ins its kind of useless/worthless if your workflow includes those plugins.

I do not agree that obsoleting all on my expensive plug-ins is a plug-in author's issue; some of these authors are no longer around / listed - it's an unannounced and not warned about break in backwards compatibility!
So, how do we restore operation for plug-ins in "legacy mode"?

  • Text tool error in photoshop CC (2014)

I updated using creative cloud last week to PS CC (2104)...I am getting the following message whenever i try to use the type tool (for any font selction)
'Cannot use the type tool because of a program error'
I'm on a almost brand new PC running windows 8.1 Pro with 32GB of ram and PS assigned its own SSD drive for scratch.
Thanks in advance for any help
    Andrew

I figured it out. You can apparently no longer set type in Photoshop while in black and white/bitmap mode. I converted to gray scale, set the text and converted back to b&w.

  • Eye Dropper error with Photoshop CC 2014

On my work computer I am experiencing a "Program Error" when trying to use the eye dropper to sample a colour.
My home computer has no problem.
I un-installed and re-installed the program with no positive result.
    Bob

    Two suggestions:
Reset the tool or all the tools by right-clicking or ctrl-clicking on the icon to bring up the menu.
Reset your Preferences by holding down cmd-opt-shift and starting Photoshop to get the reset dialog.
