Unexpected Error Converting .pdf to .xlsx on 24Mb File

I am trying to convert a 24Mb .pdf file to .xlsx and getting Unexpected Error.  It was not a scanned copy.

Tried several different computers, with several different setups, and they all gave the same error message.  Tried some more troubleshooting, but really, nothing was working out.  Cancled my subscription and instead used:  https://www.pdftoword.com/     I really only needed 3 pdfs turned into docs, so this worked fine.

I'm trying to convert my pdf file into an xlsx file.  I have the Adobe Export Subscription, yet Adobe Reader hasn't been able to convert it, although it will convert the file into an rtf file.  Any suggestions on how to make the conversion?

    Hey meech39265918,

Is something wrong with the subscription. Anyways if you want to get an alternate u can try Universal Document Converter for converting PDF to Excel -  http://www.print-driver.com .

  • Exporting/Converting PDFs to XLSX

Right side column says :Export PDF" "Convert to" - I picked XLSX.
I was requested to pay $23.88
I paid this money by credit card.
After paying, I am told that EXPORTPDF will only convert to WORD.
    This is FALSE ADVERTISING.
HOW do I get MY MONEY BACK??
    Please help.

Thanks for the response.  Yeah, I'm a total digital packrat, so I make a point of not throwing stuff away if I have the chance.
If you got a few minutes to spare, can you check out one of the print ads I was talking about?  http://goo.gl/FBPsN (5.5MB PDF).  I used the Preflight fix, "Convert to PDF/X-1a (SWOP)" under PDF/X compliance and even though I just upgraded to CS5.5, it still shifts two characters over.
I'm wondering if it's the settings that I used (just used the defaults), but it definitely tells me that I have to watch this stuff like a hawk and that PDF/X-1a conversion is not a digital prepress panacea.  Have you ever experienced images taking a hit in quality (ie: introducing JPG image compression)?

  • Convert pdf bank statement into excel file????

I am trying to convert a pdf bank statement file into a excel file and its not working.... the cells are too long or to short.... please let me know how to do it, please. Thanks

Here's some points that might help you with your question:
    1. You don't have to be the author of a PDF to run scripts on it.
    2. You don't have to have the non-free (Reader) version of Acrobat to run scripts, but you will have much more options available to you if you had Acrobat Pro or Standard.
    3. There's no ready-made tool that can do what you asked for. It *might* be possible with a custom-made tool, but it's very much dependent on the structure of the PDFs you have.
If you're interested in such a tool contact me by email. I might be able to help you out.

  • Unexpected error for file explorer

I have a user that was trying to browse her document lib by using the explorer feature in sharepoint.  At first we were unable to even get the explorer working.. but then I followed these steps:
    1- patch IE
For windows 7 x32 machines this update needs to be installed:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=27df4b80-e71b-457a-9a5f-02668b1651c8
For windows 7 x64 machines this update needs to be installed:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=2aa7d8a3-d48d-4b7b-bfb6-770af0536fe1
    2 - trusted sites
Under the trusted sites in IE these need to be added:
    https://*.lync.com
    https://*.microsoftonline.com
    https://*.outlook.com
    https://*.sharepoint.com
3 - made sure this was running.
In the windows services the WebClient must be running.
Once I did that everything was working correctly.  The explorer now came up for the user with no issues.  However, when the user tried to copy or move a file they received this error: "An unexpected error is keeping you from copying the file.
If you continue to receive this error, you can use the error code to search for help with this problem.  Error 0x800700E0: Access Denied.  Before opening files in this location, you must first add the web site to your trusted sites list, browse to
the web site, and select the option to login automatically."
The option to login automatically has already been selected for this user.  I also checked the permissions to the site and she has full control selected.  So i'm now at a dead end.  Anyone have any suggestions?  She is running office
2010 and I tested this on my office 2010 machine and it worked with no issues... However I am an Admin to the site.  Cheers.

here this guy is talking about the permission on the computer.
This is often caused because you are not an Administrator, or do not have administrator priveleges. A well phrased problem is half of the cure, and in this case just make
sure tht your account has the 'top dog' administrator priveleges, and is using them.

Also please try your account on her computer and see if you able to copy the files or not?

  • An unexpected error during Command execution

    Hi,
I am using Project Server 2007 SP 2 at the moment. One of our user keeps encountering this error "An unexpected error during Command execution" for a project file.  We tried to restore the earlier version of the plan using Administrative restore.
But it only works as a temporary fix as the problem keeps reapprearing. Kindly help.

Only SP2 for Project 2007? Probably not worth trying to debug, with 2007 it is almost essential to have SP3 and the very last cumulative update for Project pro and Server. 2007 was a very buggy version (they were forced to release at same time as Office
2007 and it was too soon).

  • Converting PDF to CCITT Tiff files

    Hello,
I have been given a programming task to convert PDFs into CCITT format Tiff files.
I an new to using Acrobat and have looked at the example code and see the following code.
    JSObj.SaveAs(fullPathTIF, "com.adobe.acrobat.tiff")
This does the conversion fine, but if greyscale or colour PDFs are converted they use a different compression type.
Is there a way to convert the PDFs to black and white before the conversion, or forcing the conversion to the desired compression type?
    thanks
    John

That is correct, because CCITT is only for black & white/monochrome images.
If you wish to convert the PDF to B&W, you can do that as well via other JavaScript APIs (as documented in the SDK).

  • Does the Retirement of WorkSpaces impact online services for converting pdf to word?

I occasionally use Adobe to convert PDF files to Word or Excel files.  I am wondering whether the recent widely distributed email on retirement of Workspaces is relevant to me. Is the retirement of workspaces relevant to me if I am using the Adobe online service to convert PDF to Word or Excel files?  I ask this question because I do not know whether Adobe may be using Workspaces in the background whenever I request a file conversion.

No, this retirement does not affect ExportPDF.

  • "Unexpected Error" opening Diadem TDM files

A little background.  I work in test area where we deal with several different data acquisition systems and, therefore, several different raw test data file formats.  One of those data types is NI/Diadem TDM files.  I have developed a single raw data loading function, using MATLAB, to handle the importation/reading of all of the different data types.  For the TDM files, I am utilizing the nilibddc.dll library (provided by National Instruments) to open/read the data files.  When I run the MATLAB code from the MATLAB development environment everything works fine.  This is the good news.
The bad news happens when I compile the MATLAB code and try to load TDM files into MS Excel.  What I am doing is using MATLAB’s compiler/deployment tool to create a generic COM dll (called MATLABLoadDataFile.dll).  I am then referencing MATLABLoadDataFile in an Excel add-in which obtains raw data file name(s) from the user, and calls the single raw data loading function to load the data into Excel.  This allows the users to easily import to Excel, all of the different file types we deal with.  When the raw data loading function is called in MATLABLoadDataFile,  an error occurs (-6204 “Unexpected Error”) when the DDC_OpenFileEx function is called.  I have included several debugging statements in the MATLAB code to try and track down what is going on.  The findings….the nilibddc.dll appears to successfully load with MATLAB’s loadlibrary command.  All 135 functions in nilibddc appear to be available.  When DDC_OpenFileEx is called, the code -6204 “Unexpected Error” is thrown, and the load data file function is exited (via error checking code I wrote in MATALB) without loading any data.
Now, more good news (I guess).  The above behavior is only experienced on my development machine, and (so far) one end-user.  After I deployed the data loading Excel add-in to several (approx 5) end-users, I discovered that the TDM data loading function worked perfectly, without any errors being thrown.  The sixth end-user, unfortunately, experienced the same “Unexpected Error” I receive on my machine.  I have dug deep into several things to try and determine the common thread between my machine and the sixth user without any luck.  I have checked system path statements, MATLAB path statements (if installed ), registry entries, and component install sequencing (I ran the same msi installer package for all end users).  Before I continue further which the deployment, I would like more information on how/why the “Unexpected Error” occurs.
FYI, all of the computers are running 32 bit Windows 7, MS Excel 2007, & MATLAB r2010a (some machines have it installed already, and some do not.  The MATLAB Compiler Runtime Library was installed on all machines to run the compiled MATLAB code.  The 2 “problem” machines are different in this regard, as are the 5 “good” ones, so no common thread).
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.  If this is the wrong forum for this question, please let me know, or forward to the correct one.  Thank You.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Because the whole ddc system is based on dynaic library loading I would assume that one of them fails.
    http://www.dependencywalker.com/
    offers a tool depends.exe.
After starting it load the program (matlab.exe) to it and use the menu entry
    Profile->Start Profile
The application will log all LoadLibrary and GetProcAddress entries and so on.
Have a look for red entries that might be related with ddc lib and ni usi.
A potential clash could be xerces or an installed NI-Excel Addin.
Could you check and come back with some information.
    Greetings
    Andreas

I have an "Unexpected Error" that means I cannot convert a PDF to XLSX.
