Unexpected InterruptedException

Question

The last few days I have been struggling in the problem that my program occasionally stops working with InterruptedException, but this exception is not thrown during a sleeping or a waiting stage. (This may be determined from the stack trace - the thread is not apparently in any sleep or wait stage.) Moreover, all the sleeps and waits are correctly surrounded by try and catch. So it seems that for some reason JVM realizes that it does not like some thread, and throws the InterruptedException.

I really appreciate you help. In fact, MessageManager is not an IO class. As you have pointed to addEvent ... this method adds an event into a queue of events of the target thread AND (this is maybe the key) then it calls interrupt method of the target thread (below is a snippet). About the number of threads ... we have 1000 threads in purpose because we simulate a network environment. Currently we are considering to completely change our model (because we are not able to model and control real parallel algorithms). Anyway, I think that this is the reason why JVM gets crazy and throws weird exception.
