Unexpected problem when creating package

Hi Expert
I have a big problem that just has been happened to me unexpectedly.
I am tried to create package which contains inset into statement. Fields are composed of varchar2, objtype and nested ref obj.
Before this, I was able to execute this statement through sqlplus from the win 98 client to linux server (oracle for linux is here).
But now i cannot do it anymore, my linux server was shuted down automatically once I hit the enter key to execute the statement in sqlplus program.
What 's a problem?
ps: I am to execute a small statement such as create table or select statement.
Pls suggest
sasi

Hi, Puce!
I know that this solution can help.
However it is unclear to me, how my component differs from standard JComboBox for security, as JComboBox doesn't require JAR signature.
My question is: what should I do in order to make security allow my component, as it allows JComboBox.
Thanks!

    Problem when creating Database:
    Below are the problems, which I faced during creation of database. I have mentioned both the problem separately. Plus the log file maintained by Oracle during installation. It might help in diagnosing the error. Plus a little conclusion with I turned up to.
    There are two problems, when creating database with Oracle Database Assistant. One when creating pre tuned database from CD. And second when creating customized database giving options your self.
    Problem # 1:
    When creating pre tuned database from CD. The process of creating Database is 90 % complete and is at step # 3 Initializing Database. It gives error ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel.
    I searched following oracle help for this problem.
    ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
    Cause: An unexpected end-of-file was processed on the communication channel. The problem could not be handled by the Net8, two-task software. This message could occur if the shadow two-task process associated with a Net8 connect has terminated abnormally, or if there is a physical failure of the interprocess communication vehicle, that is, the network or server machine went down.
    Action: If this message occurs during a connection attempt, check the setup files for the appropriate Net8 driver and confirm Net8 software is correctly installed on the server. If the message occurs after a connection is well established, and the error is not due to a physical failure, check if a trace file was generated on the server at failure time. Existence of a trace file may suggest an Oracle internal error that requires the assistance of customer support.
    Conclusion:
    What I conceive from this problem and the help available is that, I have to install NET8 again. But I am not sure about the solution, please tell me whether I am rite or not.
    Problem # 2:
    When creating database with custom option. The process of creating Database is 2 % complete and is at step # 2 Creating Database Files. It gives error ORA-12571: TNS:packet writer failure.
    I searched following oracle help for this problem.
    ORA-12571: TNS:packet writer failure
    Cause: An error occurred during a data send.
    Action: Not normally visible to the user. For further details, turn on tracing and re-execute the operation. If error persists, contact Worldwide Customer Support.

  • Why a semi-colon is not enough when creating packages and package bodies?

    Hi,
    I'm struggling with a quite simple problem - when creating a package header and body in the same script, it does not work as expected. See for example this very simple package:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE mypackage AS
    PROCEDURE test_proc(id INTEGER);
    END mypackage;
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY mypackage AS
    PROCEDURE test_proc(id INTEGER) IS
    BEGIN
    NULL;
    END test_proc;
    END mypackage;
    When executed from JDeveloper (or sqlplus), the package is created but with a "PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol CREATE" error. It seems Oracle does not recognize the script contains header and body, and uses the whole script as a header (which is obviously wrong).
    If modified so that there are "/" everything works fine:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE mypackage AS
    PROCEDURE test_proc(id INTEGER);
    END mypackage;
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY mypackage AS
    PROCEDURE test_proc(id INTEGER) IS
    BEGIN
    NULL;
    END test_proc;
    END mypackage;
    Why is this necessary? Why Oracle does not recognize that "END mypackage;" actually ends package header definition, and combines it with the body definition into an invalid block? I've thought semicolon is a valid separator, so why is the "/" necessary?
    It does not work even when I try to run the statements separately (from the same worksheet in Jdeveloper) - first select the header block, hit F9 (execute statement), then repeated the same for body. In this case both header and body are created, but are invalid because the last semicolon is removed from them (so it's not possible to compile them).

    For that to work, the SQL engine would have to understand PL/SQL syntax. Only the PL/SQL compiler knows when all the END statements have matched up with their corresponding declarations, and it doesn't do CREATE statements. I guess it could detect that the compilation unit it started has finished and pass any text left over back up to SQL to have another shot at. I'm not sure that's reasonable. There is no other example in SQL where one CREATE statement can turn into two - e.g. you can't send a block of CREATE INDEX statements together and expect the database to parse them out into separate commands.

  • Problem when creating a sales order with reference by BAPI

    I am facing one problem when creating Sales Order.
    <b>The scenario is like this while creating SO With reference to an Order type, a new SO will be automatically created with a diff order Type</b>.
    I am using "BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2".
    I am calling this BAPI in USEREXIT_REFRESH_DOCUMENT.
    Am I using the right exit to call this Bapi ?
    <b>Problems are like :
    1. Ref Sales Order creating without Sales Unit .
    2. "Object Status does not exist" error msg is coming for Header and Item level(when clicking the status tab and then object status pushbutton).</b> But if testing the bapi from SE37 in test sequence....no such problem persists.
    As for example in case of sales unit,in the debugging mode i have seen that BAPI uses a perform to fill the values in the VBAP structure.But after that when it come back to the main program VBAP remains blank.This ocuurs when the BAPI is called from the exit whereas  if tested from SE37, VBAP retains the value.
    Can u suggest in this ? This is very very urgent............
    Thx in Adv.........................

    Thanks........
    Your suggestion was a great help to me.I have used a custom FM and called it in <b>starting new task</b>.
    Since i am a university fresher working in SAP for nearly 1 year.....can you please explain me the difference between <b>in update task</b> and <b>starting new task</b>.Why the problem was occuring for which you have suggested to call a custom function module.
    what is V1 update and V2 update?Is it attached with asynchronous ans synchronous update.It would be a great help to me if you kindly clear my confusions....
    thanks in advance.

    Guys,
    Can any one please suggest me appropriatly to the below problem.
    I am using NWDS 7.06. I have no problem when creating CAF project, Application Service and Entity Service even.
    But in the Entity Service:
    1. Add a string or longtext attribute.
    2. try to create a custom finder method in operations tab, during that operation i am  not finding the attribute which i have created in step1.
    That means i am not able to create the my own finder methods with parameters.
    I was able to do that in some version long ago but i have forgotten that NWDS version.
    summary of Problem Is: " Cannot create custom methods with custom parameters in Entity Service"
    Can you please suggest me the right version or a solution to this problem on urgent basis please.
    I promise you that i will give you full points to you who ever gives me the right solution.

  • Problem when Creating Project (Composite Application Services) in NWDS

    I've seen a few posts regarding this but I don't feel as if any real solution was given.
    I just installed Netweaver Developer Studio (7.0.15) with the current JDK/JRE (1.6.0_07).  When trying to create a new Composite Application Services project within the Studio, using the new project wizard, I get an error: Problem when Creating Project.
    I get the EJB Module and Dictionary to create within my navigator with no problems, however, during the creation of the metadata, the error occurs.  I do have the metadata folder appear within the navigator, but nothing in it.  None of the other three items are created.
    I have tried the attempt at deleting the metadata folder within my workspace directory and trying again but the same exact result occurs.
    Is there any other solution out there for this problem besides attempting to find older versions of NWDS, etc. that are more "stable"?
    Thank you!

    Durga,
    Very simple but effective solution.
    I had tried uninstalling / re-installing NWDS with no effect but uninstalling / re-installing NWDS AND all java related products on my machine did work.
    Note: For anyone else with this issue in the future.  I installed the Java SDK / JRE 1.4.2_18 with NWDS 7.0.15 in case this is also a possible issue with versions.
    Thanks, Durga!

  • Problem when creating contract  with foreign trade / customs

    Hi,
    I encountered a problem when creating contract / outline agreement.
    I used ME31K to create a contract with a vendor outside of our country. I suppose that I should be able to see "Foreign Trade / Customs" in "Header" menu, but this entry is gray, I cannot enter it.
    I tried to create a scheduling agreement using ME31L with the same vendor and material, I can see "Foreign Trade / Customs" information. I suppose these two process are similar, aren't they?
    Btw., I checked the master data according to this thread:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/ed/3b6cc697e711d1b4e20000e82d81b0/content.htm
    Can anyone give me some hint?
    Thanks!
    Charlie

    These two processes are different:
    The Contract agreement or the Outline Agreement is that create the centrally contract (cross-plant) where it can maintain different pricing conditions for each and every plant. It creates the Release Order with reference to Outline Agreement. No detailed delivery schedule can be made in the Release Order. No Release documentation is created. Only time-dependent conditions can be created, Some Item Category 'M' and 'W' can be used.
    Whereas the Scheduling Agreement is the Plant Location what must be entered in the Scheduling Agreement. Its no need to create any other purchasing document except for delivery schedule line via Transaction ME38 or MRP running (with the appropriate setting of Source List). Delivery Schedule line items are created subject to your specific requirement. It can create both Scheduling Agreement with or without release of Documentation (subject to the Document Type LP or LPA) with the selection of either FRC or JIT delivery schedule. Either time-dependent or time-independent conditions can be created subject to the customizing in the Document Type of the Scheduling Agreement. Item Category 'M' and 'W' can not be used.

  • Website structure causing problems when creating livecopy based on a blueprint

    Hi,
    Our website structure goes like this:
    company/
         products/
         services/
         contact us/
         etc...
    Our site is single language and hence the structure. Now we have a problem when creating a livecopy (for mobile site) based on a blueprint.
    It seems that for the livecopy (based on a blueprint) to work, the site structure needs to be like this:
    company/
         en/
              products/
              etc...
    It's too late for us to include another layer. What's the best way to create a livecopy based on a blueprint? Or should we just go with livecopy without the blueprint? But then are we missing out on the sync benefit from the blueprint?
    Thanks!!

    Hi Chaack,
    Thanks for this idea. I have tried this before but couldn't get the livecopy to sync.
    I tried to do it through the blueprint by right click and select 'rollout'. But nothing happens. The 'blueprint' tab on the page properties on the livecopy site is grayed out. I think the blueprint I created is not associated with the livecopy and that's why the rollout does not work. If the livecopy was created through 'Create site' then the blueprint is available to choose on step1. But not when you 'create live copy'. Is there anyway to link the blueprint to the livecopy if the livecopy was created through 'create live copy'?
    Thanks!!!

    Hi Chandan,
    I still encounter the error message and this time, it only create the ejbmodule folder. In mine previous creation, I have dictionary, ejbmodule, metadata and webdynpro.
    I realised that there is some different in the .plugin folder and the previous .plugin folder of the .metadata.
    Not sure whether is it affected by the .plugin folder. Is there a list of .plugin required?
    can advise?
    Thanks again.

    Hi,
    I would like to suggest you some SAP notes that contain useful information aobut customer-vender intergration of ERP2005.
    956054  BP_CVI Customer-vendor integration as of ERP2005 (ECC600)
    This notes describes the changes (new development) of CVI AND the necessary customizing settings.
    In short, CVI is now bidirectional.
    1. BP -> Customer/Vendor: it depends on the roletype configuration, if a customer/vender is created.
    2. Customer/Vendor -> BP: it depends on the account group if a BP is created.
    Data is changed then synchronoously.

  • Unexpected Error When Creating Network

    Running 10.9.1 and getting "Unexpected Error" When Creating a new network. Need help getting started.
    Thanks for the support!

    You need to use the alternatives under options..
    It will never pick this option itself.. so click Other Options.
    and use replace an existing device.
    Or simply remove the existing setup and start over..
    Reset to factory every time you start a setup.. and create a new network.. then reset the older units once this is working and use them to extend the network.
    Personally I prefer to replace and start afresh as it just leads to less issues.
    As far as range is concerned the new AC models are variously reported  as excellent to worse than existing old models.. wireless is simply another form of voodoo only in white plastic instead of black.. which sort of suits the black arts better.

  • Package Error when create package via Methods onTables

    Even though I am an APEX developer for 3 years, I just found out about Methods on Tables Utility in SQL Workshop from Dan McGhan's demo. I tried to create a package for about 7 tables in one package. When the package was created, it was invalid. I tried to compile it and it produced several errors. I noticed that the UPDATE table procedure was incomplete as it did not provide parameters even though the procedure uses them.
    I was able to replicate it in APEX.ORACLE.COM.
    WORKSPACE: RGWORK
    PACKAGE: CSRSR_DML
    USER : TESTER
    Password: test123
    Is this a bug? Is there a workaround? Did anyone else experience similar outcome?

    Given Tom's well-known opposition to this approach, I was more than a little surprised when this appeared in APEX as he also appears to have close links to the APEX team. I'd really rather have seen development effort invested elsewhere.
    I'd definitely advocate building applications based on PL/SQL APIs, just not on table-centric, row-by-row ones...
    I tried to create a package for about 7 tables in one package.Why?
    One of the main purposes of packages is to modularize an application. Sticking methods for all of the entities in one package defeats this and makes development, testing and maintenance harder. If you must use the flawed TAPI concept, create a separate API for each table&mdash;at most only combine those where there exist mandatory dependencies, e.g. an <tt>order</tt> package with methods for <tt>orders</tt> and <tt>order_items</tt>.
    As to the immediate problem, it appears to be due to the lack of primary key definitions on some of your tables. This means the generator is unable to identify which columns to use as unique row identifiers.
