Unexpected Quit - I've tried all former suggestions
Hello,
I just installed a Final Cut Studio 5 upgrade from FCP 4.5. BUT -- now FCP unexpectedly quits when I launch the program.
• I've trashed my preferences.
• I've repaired the permissions on my disk.
• I've used Terminal to debug (upon a forum suggestion)
• I've restarted and restarted.
• I'm at my wit's end.
Does anyone have any more suggestions? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,

The iChat Agent process has unexpectedly quit, disconnecting you from all..
My iChat has been doing this all the time! I can't stay connected for more than an hour without iChat quitting on me and giving me this message:
*"Disconnected from iChat Agent. The iChat Agent process has unexpectedly quit, disconnecting you from all services. Logging in again will restart it."*
I have tried these steps to fix the problem with no success.
Step 1 - Repaired Permissions
Step 2 - Rebooted off of the DVD or CD and Repaired Disk
Step 3 - Went to /Users/user_name/Library/Preferences folder and deleted these files:
com.apple.iChat.plist
com.apple.iChat.Aim.plist
com.apple.iChat.Jabber.plist
com.apple.iChat.SubNet.plist
com.apple.iChatAgent.plist
Step 4 - Reinstalled the **** thing.
My iChat works 100%, I have no issues connecting, video conferencing, screen sharing and etc. But every hour or so the connection drops and gives me that **** message!!! *"Disconnected from iChat Agent. The iChat Agent process has unexpectedly quit, disconnecting you from all services. Logging in again will restart it."* So have to keep reconnecting all the time! Sometimes I'm in a middle of a conference and the freackn' thing just drops!!!! (Even tho sometimes I do get that error but my video connection still works offline.... not sure how....)
I have been in several forums and no one was able to fix this issue! Can some official Apple guy help with this!!! I mean, ****!! What an annoying bug!! I really on iChat to communicate with co-workers and etc as I work remotely. If Adium had video support I wouldn't even wast my time to get this thing working, but iChat is still my best option(when the **** thing works)

And no its not my router and ISP and this happens with any connection(Coffee shops, public libraries, WiFi Hot Spots....)I had the same problem a month or two ago. I spent a few hours on the phone with an Apple tech and after the fourth time calling back was transferred to a Product Specialist (the highest level of Apple technicians). The specialist recommended creating a test account on my Mac and trying to launch iChat to see if the problem was system-wide or a user based issue. When that didn't work I was out of options. What it unfortunately came down to was having to do an Archive and Install (which didn't work) and after hours of backing up did an Erase and Install. After all the smoke cleared and my computer was back to normal, iChat was back and fully functional as before.
IF YOU ARE USING TIME MACHINE:
*DO NOT* copy all of your files back onto your Mac. Only copy your documents and music, preferences and nothing else. Chances are you backed up the problem without even knowing it and you would just end up back where you started.
I did notice that my .Mac account still works in iChat but AIM does not (which just happens to be what I use to communicate with the rest of the world).

As stated no matter how hard i try i CANNOT get apps to appear in my sidebar library menu so i can update them through itunes.Has only happened since last update of itunes .Really wish i hadn't updated as i have never had an issue b4.Spent most of day on fone to apple yesterday as the update created an issue that meant i could not sync at all.Anyway thanks to 'james' in arizona we sorted the first piece of trouble the update created .(sortof).
Not sure why it has to be messed with.Well i spose it is progress!!!
I've looked at lots of posts re this and tried all the suggestions but just cannot get the magic 'apps' category to appear in my sidebar in itunes???
One suggestion was that the apps if clicked on would have an 'update ' button but all i can do is delete them
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated
(running osx 10.7.5 on MBP -slightly tricky cos i also run windows in a 'bootcamped' partition.Mind u itunes etc is in mac partition and has been working fine for the last 10 years!!!!!!!!!)I'm going to assume that you use only one Apple ID so the two things that I can think of are to quite all processes and restart all devices and then try to sync those apps again. Quit iTunes, restart your computer and the iPad and then try to sync the apps again.
The other thing would be to try to reset your iTunes account by signing in and out of the account on the iPad. Settings>Store>Apple ID - tap the ID and sign out. Restart the iPad and then sign in to your account and try again. -
After updating to ios 8 on my iphone 4s, all my music from iphone disappered. I tried all the suggestions, but I cant see music folder in the settings-general at all. I signed out of icloud as well, but still cannot sync with itune on my macbookpro. Can any one help?

Change how it syncs by enabling Manually manage music and videos, then you can drag and drop the music that you want on your iPhone. Revert it back to test to see if that resolves the issue.

I recently changed my password to my apple id and was able to log into everything fine except the icloud on my ipad. It reverted back to an old apple id and I don't know the password. I have tried all the suggestions and no luck.
You didn't say what you've tried, but f the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

I have a MAC: 2006, but intel Core Duo; version 10.4.11
I have had some difficulties with my Firefox recently: crashing occasionally, not always loading a page on the first try, saved e-mails or passwords working off and on. I trashed my current version of Firefox (I was told by my tech guys to uninstall it and download a new version, but I couldn't find an uninstall package for mozilla, so I dragged it to the Trash) and I uninstalled flip4MAC, too. I tried to download version 4, but my system could not run it, so I downloaded 3. 16. 12 - it worked really great for a while, but then started to revert to its old problems and my tech guys said I might not have done a complete uninstall- I am a bit of a techno-peasant, so I may have not done it properly. In the meantime, I upgraded my Internet service with Bell and was going to download Snow Leopard- I have Tiger- to see if that helped, but after the upgrade, Mozilla won't even open at all; the window comes up with a tab that says "restore session" and it freezes immediately and then closes with a crash report and an icon in the apps bar called "Crash Reporter." I have copied the incident report and am including it with this email. Bell tech support says it is not their issue, it's mine, which I think is probably correct, but why did it completely crash after the upgrade?
I did go on Mozilla Firefox's website for support through Safari, and tried all the suggestions, but Safari's Mozilla Firefox only displays the search bar and not the address bar, so I used the tip to got ''library/,'' etc to get the crash i.d. I was able to get the i.d., but when I typed in the url with my crash id, I got an error message: File not Found. I tried it more than once, so I copied it from one of the reports sent to you guys and I only hope that you are able to use the crash info I submitted below (after Trouble shooting info).We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing when you open it. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.
#Press the following shortcut to get a Run window: [Windows] + [R]. This should bring up a window that contains a text field.
#In that text field, enter %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
#From that explorer window, double-click on the ''Mozilla'' folder, then double-click on ''Firefox'' and then on ''Crash reports''. Double-click on ''submitted''.
#Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to ''View'' > ''Arrange Icons by'' > ''Modified'' to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
#Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
#Paste each ID into the reply window on the forums.

I am unable to connect my Macbook air, iPhone or iPad though bluetooth. I have tried all the suggestions I have read. i.e. toggle bluetooth on and off, turn devices on and off, forget devices and then pair. I seem to be able to pair but the devices immediately go to not connected and a message appears that reads: make sure devices are turned on and in range.
Pairing the phone with the car is one thing, but paring to the computer is not generally supported. Tethering is using the cellular data access from the phone for the other devices. It is part of Personal Hotspot. If you aren't aware of what it is, then it probably is something you do not use.
As far as the car is concerned, what is not working? Does the car not see the phone, or the phone see the car, or after you start to pair something fails? If you provide more information about the problem and what you have tried to do to correct it, then we can offer some solutions. What version of the iPhone, what iOS, and what year and make of vehicle? -
I recently did a manual reboot after my MacBook Pro had frozen, and instead of the usual Apple and loading icon, it gave me the flashing question mark on a folder, which I've never encountered before. I looked up some possible reasons on my PC, and after reading that there's a problem with my HD I tried looking up how to back up my files so that I can do a clean reinstall of Yosemite (latest ver.). However, I've never used anything like Time Machine or anything else that could back up all my files, so it didn't sound like I could do anything about that at this point. I've also tried going into Disk Utility and attempting to repair the disk image. There was only 2 available, disk0 and the base system. I verified the base system, and told me there was nothing wrong (it didn't give me the option to repair anything either, on both available options). I don't think this is the right thing though, since my drive was called MacBook Pro HD. So basically this is the point I'm at now. Is there anything I can do that will repair my HD without erasing all my files?
I've tried all the suggestions and nothing has worked.

You can boot into Recovery and re-install the OS X on top of what you have. It will preserve your user data.

I have recently had the problem of Yahoo search becoming my default search engine. I loathe Yahoo having had many problems with them in the past so refuse to use them. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing...no change. I tried all your suggested fixes and none works. There is now no mention of Yahoo when I go to change search settings, but despite this Yahoo is the default search engine. This is intolerable for me and I am seriously on the verge of removing firefox for good. Stop me!!! I am having to send this in a different search engine as in Mozilla firefox this account is inactive...work that one out! It means there is no point giving you troubleshooting info...

i am unable to manually add artwork via itunes 12 on windows 7. I've tried all the suggestions to no avail. Has anyone succeeded on the same platform as me?
The new iTunes 12 Get Info dialog lacks right-click context menus (at least for now) but it still accepts most standard keyboard shortcuts and drag & drop actions.
Delete Artwork
On the artwork tab of Get Into, tap the image in question, use Backspace or Ctrl+X. Delete doesn't work.
Or, tap the image at the top left of Get Info, this time use Backspace or Delete, it is Ctrl+X that doesn't work.
Add Artwork
Select artwork, press Ctrl+C to copy, tap the centre of the Artwork tab, press Ctrl+V to paste.
Or, select artwork, press Ctrl+C to copy, tap the small image area at the top left, press Ctrl+V to paste.
Or, you can drag & drop to, or sometimes from, the same locations.
You can also copy artwork from the Get Info dialog to Windows Explorer with the keyboard shortcuts.
If the source image is on a web page right-click and use Copy Image rather than copy. (With Chrome I get a one pixel wraparound so tend to go for a temporary local copy anyway - not sure whose bug this is, but it isn't new.)
If you have multiple images embedded drag the one you want to be the primary artwork to the leftmost position.
Replace/Remove All Artwork
The top left image box can be used to add or delete art from multiple tracks. In either case all existing artwork in all tracks is replaced/removed.
Old Style Get Info Dialog
Select some items, right-click, hold down shift, then click Get Info from the context menu. (Use alt/option on a Mac)
If you still cannot add artwork via any of these methods then I would suspect a permissions problem. See Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows.

The iTune cannot detect my iPhone 4S. I have already tried all methods suggested, including re-installling iTune, re-activating Apple Mobile Device, plugging in various USB ports, and etc. I use windows 7. How can I solve this?
The new cable is completely new, and my computer can detect the phone as a drive, and battery charging is ok. So I believe the USB cable works properly. It is so weird that just iTune itself cannot detect the phone, and it is of the most updated version. What else can I do? Thanks.
