Unexpected size in Tray 1, Load A4 and press OK; 1st page of a multi page document prints fine...

Hello everybody, I have an annoying issue with a HP Laserjet Pro 100 MFP M175nw. The issue is that printing from any application and any PC platform (read Windows XP, 7 and 8.x, Mac OSX SnowLeopard and Linux) the first page is printed without a problem but the second page and the rest of the pages never get printed without intervention. The printer simply stops after printing the first page, the control panel display shows the message "Unexpected size in tray 1" "Load A4 and press OK." pressing OK button the 2nd page is printed, for the 3rd and the nth page same procedure.... The printer is out of warranty and HP does not provide any support on this subject. Printer is using genuine HP drum and toner cartridges. This isssue came up after having printed in total approximatively 7000+ (bw & color) pages in the past 2 years. The paper size used is A4, the printer is configured to use this paper by default. To remedy the problem checked all suggestions by HP provided online and checked some Dutch (HP) forums without finding a proper solution. Followed all advice such as resetting the printer, reinstalling drivers, updated firmware, using HP doctor.., replaced and changed paper lot several times, replaced toners etc etc ect no luck in printing whole documents without intervention. The issue is that printing from any application and any PC platform using either PCL or PS, USB or Ethernet or wireless (read Windows, Mac OSX and Linux) the first page is printed without a problem but the second page and the rest of the pages never get printed without intervention. The printer simply stops after printing the first page, continues to do something, lots of noise, displays printer cooling down or so message on the control panel and immediately afterwards the control panel display shows the message "Unexpected size in tray 1" "Load A4 and press OK." I am no expert in hardware but I do know enough about using the PC; I guess the problem is related to hardware which is logical as all mainstream PC platforms display same behavior. I could surely carry-in the printer to a HP service center but the price they charge would urge me to spend the money on a new printer; not HP branded one that is. Is there a way to select every other page in a multi page pdf and convert it to grayscale?

I'm going to ask this question in a few sub-forums, so if you think you've seen it, you might have.
Where I work I use a program that can print to pdf. We use it to produce mailings, usually postcards, that are addressed.
I often end up with a 500 page document that will print on 250 sheets of cover stock, which will get cut into 1,000 postcard, all pre-addressed and sorted by zip code.
Usually, the address side is all black and the front is color. The printers we use can print a black click on the address side and a color click on the other, IF the pdf is set up that way. Otherwise, both sides will be counted as color clicks.
I know I can select pages individually in a pdf and convert them to grayscale and those pages will be counted by the printer as black clicks, which are cheaper than color clicks.
The problem is, I have not figured out how to convert all the odd numbered pages to grayscale at once. As a result, I usually end up printing the color side simplex, then putting the job back in the tray and printing the black side. Of course, that only works if only one side is personalized, sometimes both sides are.
Is there a way to select every other page in a pdf and convert it to grayscale?

The Acrobat SDK has sample code that shows how to convert the colors for one page (the first page of a document). This sample can easily be adjusted to process every other page. You can then use an Action that executes this JavaScript to process the document. Do you know how to create an Action? If so, you can use this script (as I said, adapted from the sample in the SDK) to convert all odd pages (1, 3, 5, ...):

I have windows 7, which is a 64 bit system? I have discovered that Firefox is still operating in 32 bits for the time being. Would that explain why certain pages load strange and certain links are unresponsive? Things seem to be working fine with explorer, but I really like Firefox.

Photoshop CS5 pdf size fine - Bridge Multi page pdf size not fine

I know it must be asked a thousand times but here goes:
PDFs saved by photoshop display the true document size (let's say 70cm width on 72ppi)
When I try to create multi page pdfs fro bridge (thanks Adobe!), no matter how many ways I try to set it up, the image always is small in the center of a white background. Always.
What gives?

1. Why dont u try it in pdf itself?
U can just crop the required area in pdf file using crop tool so it can be applied for all the pages at a time.
2. If u trying to remove particular area on a pdf u can place a white box on that area using pitstop tool it can be saved as actionlist like batch processing and applied for any number of pages and files.
Making this in pdf itself won't get u more file size. Size will be as equal as ur source file.

LaserJet 4050 - Tray 1 load plain letter

I get a "Tray 1 load plain letter" error every time I try to print to our HP LJ4050. It wants to pull the paper from tray 1 even though tray 2 is full. I thought it my be a problem with tray 2 so I switched the tray with one from an identical working printer but still get the same result. It doesn't seem to be a driver issue because I have the same problem when printing a configuration page or menu map from the LCD display. I verified that Tray 1 is set to FIRST and Tray 2 PLAIN. I restored the printer to factory setting but I'm still having the same problem. What could it be?

I had the same problem. Turns out that I had moved the printed and in the process of moving it, the paper tray #2 somehow shifted to legal size paper instead of standard 8x11.5 inch paper. To fix the problem, I pulled out the paper tray, found the blue stop at the very BACK of the tray and pulled it forward into the proper position for standard paper. This solved the problem for me.

My White Macbook is stuck at the loading screen, and disk utility, safe mode doesn't work either. What should I do?

I went on vacation a few days ago and in El Salvador, they have this mobile broadband sticks. Well, I was using one until it gave me a network error. After that, it shut down my computer entirely. The first time it happened, I didn't think much of it. I took the battery out and put it back in for it could work. It happened another two times, and after the third time, my MacBook stays stuck at the loading screen, and it will take 5-10 minutes on that screen, before it shuts down, or it wouldn't turn on at all. I've tried booting into safe mode, but it appears to not boot into it. I've tried resetting the Pram, and using disk utility, but that still won't work. I don't know what else to do to make it boot into OS X Lion.
I'm an AP student, and the majority of my work is in that computer, and it is very important! What can I do? Not only that, but I enter school in a few weeks and I need the AP work by the time I enter.
What can I do? Can someone help?

Reinstalling Lion Without the Installer
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alterhatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer.

For this u hav to go to the infopackage scheduler........
If u r in Process chain >> Right click on the infopackage >> Maintain variant..........then it will come to the IP scheduler..................In the Top Scheduler Tab >> Click on it and select DataS. Default data transfer .......Now there may be a delta IP and Full upload IP for the same datasource.......check ur IP .....it is full or delta..........if full change the packet size for full upload..............otherwise for delta upload........
If the IP is not a part of any Process chain..........then go to RSA1 >> Find the IP..........and double click on it........then the IP scheduler screen will open..........
You can make global settings for all datasources...... in the transaction SBIW in the area General Settings >> Maintain control Parameter for Data transfer......... The parameters that you maintain here are valid as global standard values, and thus apply to all DataSources.

MacBook Pro, Mid 2012 slow to load applications and startup

Problem description:
I have a MacBook Pro 13 inch, mid 2012 computer. Over the past months it has become increasingly slower during load up, and application loads.
Running OS X Yosemite
Processor: 2.9 GHz, Intel Core i7
Memory 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB
I installed an application Memory Clean from the App Store and I need to run it every so often to keep the load down. It shows of the 8GB available, App Memory eating up 3.32 GB, File Cache 2.25 GB, Wired 1.16 GB, Compressed 122.03 MB for used 6.80 GB.
I am considering upping the memory from 8 GB to 16 GB, but think it is something else dragging it down. I am not a total computer newbie, but am no where near a techomage so any advice given if it could be in simple to follow instructions would be greatly appreciated.

How to manage intermittent lag in OS X Yosemite | MacIssues
Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:

If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
4. Reinstall Yosemite: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall OS X from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
            because it is three times faster than wireless.

My company recently loaded foxfire and I cannot have two applications open in foxfire, the second page overlays the first and I cannot go back to the previous page or reduce the first page to view the first.

My pages in Foxfore are overlaying one another which is normal but you cannot get back to the previous page. An example is if I have a page opened in a program and open something totally different it replaces the first page and I cannot reduce the size to see the first page I was viewing nor go back to it. I did open a page with audio and opened another application in foxfire and the replacing went on as usual but the audio continued to play so the page is stinn there. Also the tool bar page showing icon is replaced with the newly opened page not an additional page opened being shown as a tab. It's like the newest page or site I open in Foxfire replaces the one that is currently opened.

This might be caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update.

How do i insert a splash screen or a loading screen and a application image for a phone app on Dreamweaver 6, 5.5 had the mobile application setting that is seemingly no longer present? and i also heard you can use animanted backgrounds on the mobile application in dreamweaver 6 but figuring out how to set the splash screen and application image like it was in 5.5 would be nice. All i can get to pull up is the web application i developed i am trying to build into a phone app on google chrome, if i could officially designate it as a phone app where i can set each splash screen and app image to where it is recognized as a phone app that would be really nice.

Duely noted, the server will still not connect, so i have left an inquery in the suggested forum.

Hi,
When the load is not getiing processed due to huge volume of data, or more number of records per data packet, Please try the below option.
1) Reduce the IDOC size to 8000 and number of data packets per IDOC as 10. This can be done in info package settings.
2) Run the load only to PSA.
3) Once the load is succesfull , then push the data to targets.
In this way you can overcome this issue.
You can also try RSCUSTV* where * is an integer to change data load settings.
Change Datapackage size for extraction, use Transaction RSCUSTV6.
Change Datapackage size when upload from an R/3 system, set this value in R/3 Customizing (SBIW -> General settings -> Control parameters for data transfer).
IN R/3, T-Code SBIW --> Genaral settings --> Maintain Control Parameters for Data Transfer (source system specific)

Everyone who logs into Facebook on my Firefox has this problem however if we use Internet Explorer - facebook looks normal.

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a high value can cause issues like you described.
* Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

How to load username and password for external application?
For each user, we should take its Portal username and password for one specific external application. How to do that ?

ABSOLUTLY YES !!!!
We already know the external application login information for each user and we want to by pass this user task. (Specially because the user itself doesn't know its username/password for the external appli). In fact we are trying to integrate IStore product to Portal by using this mechanism.
