Unexplained Upload from iPhone.

Last night I had a 384.9MB upload charged to my iPhone data plan. Has anything like this happened to anyone else? I became aware when AT&T notified me I had gone over my monthly limit (and they would be charging me accordingly). My other usage at 21 days into the cycle was 23MB. The other oddity I noticed was that my history in Safari was blank prior to this morning. One more thing, my battery was down to 23%, from about 95% when I went to bed. I thought that odd when I noticed this morning, but didn't realize the implications until AT&T sent the text message.
Has anyone had a similar experience? This is most strange. Is there any way to discover the destination URL or the App that was executing the communication? Or did AT&T just make an error and allocate the action to the wrong customer?

That bit about the summary is pretty much what the AT&T Rep read from her script. But it raises three questions for me. 1 What were the other 500+ line items about on the detail page for my account with AT&T? Most were a few KB, their total only 23MB. Why have one line item that amalgamates 17 times as much information as 500 more line items? I think this was a single event.  2 Why had I never seen anything like this before? I've been using the iPhone for about 8 months in pretty much the same way. During the first 23 days of the billing cycle usage averaged 1MB per day. Then the Saturday Night Surprise. 3 We have two other iPhones on the account. They show very similar usage patterns, about 1MB per day. Why was this phone, on this day, different?
So my questions remain: What happened last night? Specifically, technically. Which app (or apps) contributed to this? If I knew, I might decide they had no place on my iPhone, rather than waste time every day remembering to manually kill them. Was there some nuance of the iPhones operation that came into play? It is a very subtle and complex device. While Apple may want the user experience to just be great, once in a while they need to explain just how it works, so we can choose to use some functionality or not.
It's clear that I will need to start resetting the data counter every month and keep an eye on AT&T. The truth is, I think AT&Ts tracking and billing is so automated that there will rarely be errors. But I still would like to know just what was happening Saturday Night. Sounds like an idea for a movie, but I'm just talking data here. I don't expect satisfaction anytime soon.

  • Photos uploaded from iphone have exif data stripped out

How can I upload a photo from iphone via safari or an app with the EXIF data still intact? When I upload now from the phone via safari or an application, the EXIF data is lost.

You need to use the photo stream folder to share photos on a PC.

  • Deleted podcasts keep uploading from iPhone!

    Hi,
I cant seem to remove Podcasts on IPhone 4S that I downloaded on the IPhone.
I downloaded a couple last week, listened to them but didnt subscribe.
Synced with ITunes on my IMac and they uploaded from the IPhone to ITunes.
Deleted them from ITunes and re-synced and they uploaded again.
I cant get rid of them and its getting very annoying!
    Thanks

I am having the exact same issues. Deleted old podcasts from iTunes on Mac OS Lion. Set iTunes to sync podcasts to my iPhone 4 manually. Old podcasts transfer automatically to my iTunes library upon syncing. I delete the podcasts (again). Sync. Old podcasts transfer from iPhone again.
    Rinse. Wash. Repeat.
It appears to be an error in most recent (10.5) version of iTunes interacting with iOS 5.0.1 as that error did not occur before 5.0.1 with iTunes 10.5.
    Any suggestions?

  • Pictures didn't upload from iPhone, only hourglasses

What do I do when my photos from iPhone didn't upload, they only show an hourglass?  If I double click on the hourglass, I see the picture, but the hourglass is still there after I look again.

Thanks for the reply. For the most comprehensive answer you need to post your question in the Adobe Photoshop Elements Forum (photo editing) and not the Adobe Premiere Elements Forum (video editing). To do that
    a. re-post your thread in the Adobe Photoshop Elements Forum
    https://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshop_elements
    or
    b. wait for a moderator to see your thread here and then move it from here to there.
Putting on my Photoshop Elements hat for the moment..see if the following holds the answer for you while you make your decision on a or b.

  • Video upload from Iphone 5 to pc plays slow after few times in Quicktime player

I uploaded a video from my Iphone 5 to my pc and in the beginning it played well
But now if i try to play it plays really slow and chobby.. not good.
    Can't find any solution.

However, when I go to play them back in the latest Quicktime player the colours are wrong, mainly coming out purple.
On an XP system, the first thing I'd try would be the "Disable Direct3D acceleration in QuickTime" section of the following document. (iTunes uses QuickTime for video display, so the same basic troubleshooting step applies.) Restart the QuickTime Player prior to checking to see if the settings change has had any effect:

  • Icloud photo does not upload from iphone

Dear Apple (yes other users I know this is not for Apple. Like many I am fed up by not seeing this issue fix even after OS 10.10.3 and iOS 8.3, so pardon me if I'm a bit testy).
For many many months since the iCloud Photo Beta we (I will take the liberty to speak for others in another thread that was titled 'beta' and we have been chastised and told in no uncertain terms to start a new thread so here)... have had situations where iPhone and iPad will not upload new photos to iCloud Photo. nor does it download 'as advertised'.
Please don't ask us if we have tried turning iCloud Photo off-on-off on our iOS devices, we have.
Left iPhoto in 10.10.3 running... turned everything off everywhere... turned it back on everywhere...
Submitted (me, probably 5 times) to the Feedback APple or whatever it is called.
Submitted error reports from iCloud Photo on the web which cannot start do anything... about 5 times...
    So, till now nothing.
But I will help to grow your $180bn reserves by feeding a measly $3.99 a month for 250GB (or is that $2.99? can't remember now)... for NOTHING. At least I'm keeping some allocation warm.
My love to Tim and all the guys and gals
I don't know what else to do. It's not like if you have a problem one can actually hear/get indication from anyone at Apple on what to do/how to do etc..
So, here I am starting a new thread as 'suggested' by so many people... I am sure others will provide factual/objective reports sans sarcasm. Sorry that I can't because I am totally fed up with this situation.
With love, on behalf of the 4 iPhones, 1 iMac, 1 Mac Book Air, 1 MacBook (old), 1 MBP 15" old, 1 MBP 13" Retina, 1 Apple TV, 1 AirPort Express, god knows how many ipods etc etc in my household.
Yes, I'm an idiot Apple Fan...

    Hey all,
I've transitioned to the iCloud Photo Library. All my photos sync across all devices (iPhone, iMac, iCloud.com) - I have the new Beta Photo app running on my Mac as well.
I've realized that with this setup if I delete a photo from one place, it disappears everywhere. Which I guess is convenient.
However, I don't see a way to differentiate which photos I keep on which devices. All my libraries "have" to be identical.
What do you men by 'all my libraries' You have 1 library, it's on iCloud, if you delete from there all devices connected to the account will see that you deleted it because it is no longer there.
Don't use the iCloud library if you want different libraries on each device.

  • Uploading from iPhone - need help

When I attempt to upload a photo from my iPhone to my Web Gallery, I get the following error message on the iPhone:
"None of your .Mac accounts have been configured for posting from mobile devices. You must first enable this feature on the .Mac website"
Any idea how I "enable this feature" as I can't seem to find it anywhere on my .Mac homepage or account info, etc.
    Thanks.

    It's STILL driving me nuts.
Why can't Apple just make it 'Apple-like?' Where is a set of instructions on how to do this?
This is a new far-out concept they're adding here, I want to use it like a Flickr set amongst my iPhone totin' friends, so we can all just send some fun photos up in the cloud, and look at it. This is clearly something we all seem to need help with for the set-up...
    AND YET...
Simple question that my iPhone prompts me to ask: Where do I tell my .Mac account that I want my Web Gallery to work with my iPhone?
No sign of it on my 'homepage' on .mac, no explaination in iPhoto 08 prefs or help, no explaination ANYWHERE. Searching is NOT helpful - very poor 'help' page on this topic.
It's not working for me, and I had this button activated on my iPhone yesterday, and an iPhoto Web Gallery for the last 4 hours...
It's just not very clear, Apple. Get it together, please. The only mention of this on my .mac "logged-in" screen is on a descriptive ad for iLife 08 and .Mac.
Well, give me the respect of noticing I've already bought it all.

  • HT201317 Photostream not uploading from iPhone to iPhoto

iPhone photos not uploading to my iMac iPhoto app. Everything is set to on for Photostream on both devices. Camera is shut down on phone. Wi-fi is set on for both devices. Phone shows in Photostream album. Nothing online in Photostream or iPhoto on Mac.

Same problem here!  Just upgraded my iMac (Version 10.8 | 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo | 4 GB 1067 MHz RAM) to Mountain Lion this morning and all of a sudden my photostream will not sync photos from my iPad2 or iPhone4S to my iPhoto (fully updated) on the iMac.
Yes.  iPhoto has been fully updated.
Yes.  iPhone4S and iPad2 are also fully updated.
Yes.  Wifi is good on all devices.
Yes.  iPhone4S shows photostream working on it.
Yes.  iPad2 shows photostream working on it.
Yes.  iPhoto is enabled and signed in with iTunes account on my iMac.
    And...
No.   iPhoto on iMac will not bring the photos in from iPhone4S or iPad2.
Anyone have any ideas or know of any info regarding this?  Thanks!

  • Is there a limit to how many photos you can upload from iphone to PC?

I have an iphone 4 and want to upload photos from my phone to my PC.  In the past all I did was plug in the phone to the PC and the import wizard would start.  Now I go to the iphone in my explorer and right click on "import photos and videos" but it always tells me that there are no photos or videos to import.  I know there are new photos on my phone.
    Any thoughts?

Are those photos or videos in your camera roll? or in shared albums or photostream?
You can only import photos from camera roll.

  • Iphoto won't let me upload from iphone! "Unrecognisable"

    HI!
    Someone please help!
I was uploading my photos from my iphone and it wasn't working so I went into image capture. It worked fine and I copied and pasted them into iphoto...EXCEPT!!
It won't let me upload the last few months (approx 1,000 photos) of photos on my iphone.
Those last photos don't show up on image capture at all, like they don't exist, but they do. They are my most recent photos I've taken.
I can view these remaining ones on iphoto,(unlike image capture) but it won't let me upload them either. Says "Unrecognisable format" or something
    Please help ~

Then you have the absolute bare minimum you need, and in reality, when taking temporary files into account, very likely much less than that.
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.

  • Video upload from iPhone how to?, Video upload from iPhone how to?

The iPhone is not coming up as a device in iphoto

Have you set iPhoto to open, when a cemera is connected? This option is set in the iPhoto preferences, Genral tab. Sete it to iPhoto.
If that is not the problem, check the same settings in Image Capture:
Connect the iPhone and open Image Capture.
Select the iPhone in the Devices list and then at the bottom of the window.
Select want you want to happen when you connect the phone.

  • Photo Library not uploading from iPhone 6

Hi, I have a new iPhone 6, updated with 8.3. I activated the Apple Library more than three days ago and still no photos got uploaded. I tried signing out iCloud and back on but still nothing happening, with the iPhone fully charged and connected to wifi. I have 20Gb of space in iCloud and only around 1,300 photos to upload. Is there anything you can recommend ?
    Thanks a lot,
    Regards

The upload is slow. You don't say how large your photos library is, but here is my experience so far: I have a ~50 GB photo library that has been uploading for over a week. It's probably about 45% done uploading. My ISP says I should be able to get 864 kbps upload speed, but my library is uploading at about 140 kbps, a fraction of what it should be. Many people are seeing this same behavior, and there are various conjectures as to why. Someone needs to ask Apple about this.
Meanwhile, here is what you can to do to assure yourself that the upload is progressing. In the Preferences pane of the Photos App, you can monitor how many pix are left to go. This number changes in batches, and so checking on it periodically should show a decreasing number. The other thing I am doing is monitoring the outgoing network traffic speed. You can do this in the Activity Monitor by selecting he Network tab and looking at the table at the bottom, which shows statistics on your network use. The date sent/sec in the lower right box is a number to pay attention to. Compare this with what your ISP says you should be able to do on upload.
Finally, log into your iCloud account with your favorite browser and take a look at the photos that are there. As things progress, you should see more of them showing up there. They apparently don't get uploaded in any particular order, so there will be gaps in some of the dates, in all probability.
Let me know how it goes.

  • Computer stolen can I upload from iphone to rebuild itunes?

My computer was stolen and the only backup I have is about 12 months old. Since I often synced my iphone 3gs with itunes and my contact, mail, etc I was hoping that there would be a way to now safely move the content on my iphone back to my iMac
    Is any of this possible?

If you have at least on Unique contact and calendar entry on your computer, you should get the option to merge the data.
You can transfer itunes purchases; without syncing File>Transfer Purchases
Mail is not synced at all, it is pulled from the server like any other mail client.

  • IPhoto freezes when attempting to upload from iPhone 4

I'm attempting to back up my photos from my iPhone 4 to iPhoto on my MacBook (1,700 items). All is well until it reaches 194 photos left and then iPhoto freezes. I then have to force quit. I've tried four times but it always freezes at the same point. Any ideas what may be happening? Thanks

A damaged file at that point is a likely cause.
Can you access the images using Image Capture (in your Applications Folder) ?

  • IPhote don't show pictures after upload from iPhone, they turned all black

After uploaden all the pictures from my iPhone to my Mac the pictures turned all black in iPhoto.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on seven different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary from version to version and OS to OS. So before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Things like:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. What were you doing when the problem arose?
    - Did it ever work properly?
    - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
Anything else you can think of that might allow someone else to understand your issue.
