Unfortunately the android.process.media has stopped

This renders the camera and pictures inaccessible. I had some pictures and a video from a month ago that I really wanted to save. I have not even been able to get the download to my computer to work to transfer the information. Any advice?

Hello! I have the Samsung Galaxy S4. It does not have a SD card in it. I have tried to move the pictures to a pc but the drivers won't install properly. The error is inhibiting phone use.
Kind regards,

  • The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly..........

i think some apps may have gotten accidentally deleted by my son. my contacts are gone and it's also saying the application google services framework (process com.google.process.gapps) has stopped unexpectedly. please try again.
my phone will not sync when i press the phone button to call out it shows- sorry. the process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. please try again.
please help....i don't know how to fix it.

Tamsmadd, I can certainly assist you with the issues on your device. Are your contacts backed up to Google? Try logging into your Gmail account on your browser or computer to verify. First, try clearing cache/data from your Gmail application. If it is still not working after that then I suggest a factory reset. This resets the phone to factory default settings and will erase everything on the phone that is not on the SD card. Your pictures, videos, music are saved to the SD card by default on the Incredible 2.

  • "The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly" when trying to view contacts

Brand new Droid Charge with latest update.  When attemptiong to view contacts in standalone mode or via the phone app, it crashes with the above message.  Essentially making the phone porion of this device worthless.  Assistance please.  I'm leaving in 2 days for a trip so this needs to be fixed or the phone gets traded back in with a bad taste in my mouth or Android.

Try a soft reset to see if that reinstalls the "android.process.acore" that stopped.
    Go here to see how.

At the above URL there also is another URL to a description on how to remove and reinstall the battery.  You might look at or copy it too.
    Have a nice trip!

  • Getting "process android.process.acore has stopped" error message on S4 at startup.

OTA upgrade to Kitkat was successful, however, i now have the error message "unfortunately the process android.process.acore has stopped" at startup. cant make or receive phone calls, also cannot access apps due to error message being constantly displayed.

Verizon gave a solution above in an earlier thread. So there is guidance much as it is.
You have researched this issue and yet admitting not just on Verizon but other carriers as well you then feel hesitant to renew and get a device from Verizon. That "Bug" was done to all providers.
I always look to the Android Forums or XDA to see if solutions or fixes have been listed. I like to also Google it and many times the solutions are found.
Verizon tech support on the phone may have an answer 1-800-922-0204 or *611 from your mobile device. Verizon will only give you what they have as a possible solution on their database.
    Good Luck

  • What does process android.process.acore has stopped mean ?

My S5 stopped responding all it will say is: the process android.process.acore has stopped. I have took the battery out and let it set for 1 hour and nothing changed.

The core Android OS is crashing. You might have to resort to a factory reset to clear out the error.

  • Android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again later

    Hi,
I have an HTC Incredible 2 running on Android on Verizon. I have this problem where I cannot access my phone (for calling) or access any of my contacts. Trying to access it results in the error message " android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again later." The mail, the internet and the messaging work fine. But I cannot call anyone or add or access my contacts. From my message inbox, it looks like my contacts information has been wiped out because for my previous messages, I only get the numbers of my contacts, but not their names or pictures.
I did a bit of searching on Google and it looks like the error comes because of  some syncing issue in the contacts, but I have not been able to go much further. Any help in this direction would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello Ketan!  Thanks for posting!
I would like to assist you with getting your device working the way it should.
Have you ensured your device is running the latest software version?  If not, please update the software first.  If you still notice the force close errors after ensuring your software is up to date, then try resetting the applications that are giving the errors.  Reset the phone/dialer application, contacts/people and messaging applications.  As a last resort, a hard reset of the device will resolve the issue as well.  Please ensure your data is backed up prior to the reset.
I trust I have answered your questions, and have addressed your concerns.

  • Error message on Galaxy S4 " Unfortunately the process android.process.acore has stopped."

Have turned off and on, removed and replace battery with no result.

angenicka, let's not give up yet. The last resort to resolve this issue would be to hard reset that device since you're unable to access the Settings icon on your device. A hard reset will delete all information on your device and reset it back to the original factory settings. First, power your device off. Next, press and hold the Power Volume up Home buttons at the same time. Release the Power button when the Phone vibrates. Continue to hold the Volume Home buttons until the Android logo appears. From the Android system recovery screen, select wipe data/factory reset. Keep us posted.

  • "Unfortunately the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped" caused by Trusted Place ?

    Error Description:
"The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped"  error was popping up in one second after the previous one was "OK"-ed, endless.
    Background:
Some minutes earlier Trusted Agents was set to ON, thereafter Trusted Places "HOME,Home" was defined.
    Error removed:
    - The Google Play services version 7.0.99 (1809214-436) was "uninstall updates" -ed to (default) version 6.5.99(1642632-436).
    - Thereafter "Trusted Agents" was switched off.
First usages do not show the error, I will update the thread next time it pops up again.
    Device and Versions:
    Xperia Z3 Compact (D5803),
    Android 5.0.2., Build: 23.1.A.0.690,
    Kernel: 3.4.0-perf-g72984dd, BuildUser@BuildHost #1, Fri Feb 27 18:06:32 2015
    Customization: 1289-4696 R4C
    Google Play Build version: 5.3.6.
    Questions:
    - Should I update of Google Play services now ?  /lots of notifications coming ...
    - What can I expect, when is it possible to use Trusteds on that phone ?
    - What can I expect with the other Z3C in our family, which uses the Trusted Place w/o error ?
(Or should I be just plain happy to use the feature at least on one other phone at the moment ?   ;-)
    - Is there an official update 5.x (x>0) planned for Xperias ?

Try performing a system repair using PC Companion as this will often fix issues - This will factory reset your phone and erase all data so best to backup before you begin
Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the on screen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process
If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

  • Office 2013: Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working

    Hi,
I have problems with adding additional e-mail address to my Outlook. When I open the Mail Control Panel Item, go to my Exchange Profile and add a new e-mail address I get a popup indicating that the Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working.
The only way of adding extra e-mail addresses is to remove my entire Outlook Profile. In the initial wizard I can add all Exchange mailboxes that I need (I have 3). After I've configured my Outlook profile I always receive the Rundll32 error. When I try
to create a second Outlook profile I still get the same error.
    I've tried the following:
    - Repair OST file
    - Repair Office -> Control Panel and Online Repair
    - Reinstall Office
    - Reinstall my entire PC
It doesn't matter which e-mail address I add in the initial Outlook configuration wizard. I always receive the error when I try to add a new mailbox, even when I add a mailbox that does not exist (e.g. [email protected]).
Even after reinstalling my PC I still get the same error. I'm using Windows 8.1 (x64) and Office 2013 (32-bit) on a Lenovo W540. None of my colleagues have this issue. It's a domain joined PC and we are not using Roaming Profiles.
For troubleshooting I also created a local account on my laptop but I get the same issues with this account.

    Hi,
I'm also using Office 2013 32-bit and Windows 8.1 64-bit on my computer but doesn't get this issue. As you mentioned you reinstalled your PC, the first thing I suggest is to make sure your Windows and Office have been up to date.
The second thing is to make sure you are using the system with an administrator account, this ensures you the enough permission.
There is a possibility that some 3rd-party programs are interfering with "Mail", we can try to perform a clean boot to determine whether background programs are interfering with this:
1.Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search. Or, if you are using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then click
    Search.
2.Type msconfig in the search box, and then tap or click
    msconfig.
3.On the Services tab of the System Configuration
dialog box, tap or click to select the Hide all Microsoft services
check box, and then tap or click Disable all.
4.On the Startup tab of the System Configuration
dialog box, tap or click Open Task Manager.
5.On the Startup tab in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then click
    Disable.
    6.Close Task Manager.
7.On the Startup tab of the System Configuration
dialog box, tap or click OK, and then restart the computer.
If in clean boot the issue doesn't exist, the issue was probably caused by the 3rd-party programs. For further information to troubleshoot, you can refer to this kb below:

  • Host process rundll32 has stopped working while Installing BPC 7.5

    Hi guys,
while installing BPC on Windows 2008 R2, the installation programs shows the message
Host process rundll32 has stopped working.
According to SAP Note 1498480 - Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working, i have followed the recommendations:

    Enable32BitAppOnWin64           : (BOOLEAN) True
Also disabled the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) and rebooted server.
Then tried reinstalling IIS 7.0, rebooting the server, instaling it again but still showing the same error message.
Any futher help on this would be highly appreciated.

  • "Host Process Rundll32 Has Stopped Working" on my new X200s

    100% reproducible :
    1. boot
    2. log on
    3. close lid
    4. open lid
    5. "Host Process Rundll32 Has Stopped Working"
I get this on my new X200s which is nearly in out-of-the-box condition. It runs Vista with SP1. I installed a few programs (Thunderbird, Chrome and OpenOffice) and configured it to do nothing when the lid closes.
I guess I'll try installing the Power Management driver update (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-4GXPEG) and then Vista SP2.
    Any other ideas  ?
    Thanks,
    Jean-Louis

The driver update did not help.
In the meantime I noticed that the power gauge vanishes from the task bar after the error message.
