Unhandled exception in Word when building PDF output

We have a RoboHelp 7 project that has worked fine for quite some time.  Now, after what seemed to be a minor edit, we are no longer able to generate PDF output because Word dies with an exception.  Other projects on the same system build just fine.
The project runs the first series of Generating PDF but the second one never occurs and the error below is generated by word.
Any ideas on what we can do to get this to start working again would be appreciated.
Dana

Hi there
While I'm at a total loss as to tell you how to change the behavior, I might ask if you are able to simply generate a Word document without PDF in the picture? If so, gen the Word document, then create the PDF from that as a separate operation.
Cheers... Rick

  • Unable to Preview barcode font fields in Word Template Builder PDF Preview

    I have searched for solutions to this problem but did not find anything that I have not tried. I have IDAutomation Barcode fonts installed and am using the Word template builder v10.1.3.4 Build 129. My Templates work fine in EBS, but I cannot Preview in a PDF, any fields that are formatted with my barcode or MICR fonts. I have created an xdo.cfg file as per the documentation and placed it in C:\Program Files\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for Word\config. I can successfully preview in an RTF, but not a PDF. Any suggestions?
    Here is my xdo.cfg file:

  • Browser closing when opening PDF output in Apps

    Hello,
    When opening the concurrent request/report output (for PDF output), the browser just closes.
    The PDF output were generated thru XML Publisher (reports converted in XML Publisher - rtf).
    PDF is defined in the Viewer Options/ System Options(Viewer). I could open PDF output by
    pressing CTRL key while clicking on the output request Output button. It will give prompt on
    whether to Open or Save the PDF.
    Not sure if it's really related to XML Publisher, maybe more on concurrent request, but idea
    will be very much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Rownald

    To clarify what you posted:
    When opening the PDF document, your browser closes. When pressing the control key and opening the document, you get a dialog window (with the choices of open or save). What happens when you select open?
    This is browser behavior, nothing to do with this being a PDF file. Which browser and which platform? If you are using IE7, popup blocker is automatically enabled, and if you are viewing this on a 2003 server, you have server security settings to override. Pressing the control key allows popups.

  • Converting Word files to pdf- Output is black and white

    Hello -
    I recently updated the Adobe 9.0 Reader on my computer and now when I try to convert a Word file with pictures and/or difffent colors of fonts to a pdf the output is ALL black and white.  I've seen some people here on the forum saying their printer caused the problem, but I have not changed printers and this same Xerox printer worked before.  Plus, I am not even printing the files yet - just looking at them in Adobe Reader - and they are in black and white.  This never happened before.
    Any ideas?  Need help!

    You may want to ask in the forum for Reader.

  • Bridge CS6 freezes when generating PDF output (windows 8)

    I am using Adobe Bridge CS6 (64bit) on a Windows 8 machine. I have photos that I want to output to PDF. Bridge will freeze in the process of generating the PDF file. I have to go to the Task Manager to quit. Sometimes the PDF file has been made successfully when I look for it. Other times not.

    I have photos that I want to output to PDF. Bridge will freeze in the process of generating the PDF file.
    How many files and how big are these files?
    What filetype do you use?
    Output (as Bridge itself) can be very processor demanding on a big task and enough RAM and free space left on start up disk.
    How much RAM and free space do you have?

  • The XmlFormService process gives following warning when generating pdf output.

    I get the following warning i my server.log when "converting" xml to pdf(generatePDFOutput). Running lc es4 sp1, jboss 5.2.0, java 1.7.0_25, suse linux 11 sp2.

Supplied timeout: 0s, Wait adjustment: 0s, Effective timeout: 0s.
    Any idea why i get this warning?

    This log entry is not any error/issue with the LiveCycle(XMLForm.exe) . There is a feature which kill XMLForm.exe after a specified timeout. This feature is not used in LC, this log message just says that it did not schedule an interrupt to kill XMLForm.exe which is also expected.So, this warning log entry can be safely ignored.

  • Acrobat 9 adding odd spaces in words when creating PDF

    In the process of creating a PDF from a document using Acrobat 9 Standard AND Pro, extra spaces are being inserted into the text.
    I have searched everywhere for a solution. Anything I found indicated fonts should be embedded. That's not a solution as we embed all fonts used in a document. Technical notes:
    using File > Print and selecting Adobe PDF as printer
    job options customized to embed all fonts used in document
    use of Acrobat 9 Standard and Pro - happening with both versions
    no consistency in the "error" - one PDF creation of the document is mangled, then one creation of the same document is fine
    Samples attached.
    Help!

    We are using Adobe FrameMaker 8.0.
    Save as PDF allows us to use our job options, so we felt it wasn't any different than doing a print - are we wrong?
    Create PDF not an option available with Frame docs.
    Re: software conflict, could having Reader installed on our systems (Windows Vista Enterprise) provide conflict? We haven't received any sort of error messages, etc.

  • FRM-40735: WHEN-NEW-BLOCK-INSTANCE trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-0

    I have created two control blocks.In the second control block an item is getting data depending on the value of a particular item in the 1st control block.
    I am fetching data for the item in 2nd block using WHEN-NEW-BLOCK-INSTANCE trigger in the 2nd block
    It is giving the following error
    FRM-40735: WHEN-NEW-BLOCK-INSTANCE trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-01403
    When I am giving the following code, it is working
    SELECT BM_MR_LCL_STD INTO :BLOCK2.ITEM5 FROM FABRIC_TYPE_MAST_DVLP WHERE FABRIC_TYPE = 'AT';
    But when I am giving the below code, it is not working,
    SELECT BM_MR_LCL_STD INTO :BLOCK2.ITEM5 FROM FABRIC_TYPE_MAST_DVLP WHERE FABRIC_TYPE = :BLOCK1.ITEM4;
    Please Help.
    Regards,

    That means there were no rows in the table which matched the criteria in your query. You need to trap the no_data_found exception, eg
    exception
      when no_data_found then
        :block2.item5 := null;
    end;and if fabric_type is not unique then you'll need to trap the too_many_rows exception too.
    I think for this you might be better off with an explicit cursor.

  • Frm-40735-when-button-pressed trigger raises unhandled exception ora-01430

    Hi,
    I am running my developer6i application on winxp on one of my clinet side I got error frm-40735-when-button-pressed trigger raises unhandled exception ora-01430 when I press the button which give me the alter button to select yes or no before this the error araises.. but in the other client side its working correctlly with no such error message on same OS and developer6i version...

    i suppose you are getting 1403 and not 1430
    ++++++
    Error: ORA 1430
    Text: column being added already exists in table
    Cause: An ALTER TABLE ADD statement specified the name of a column that is
    already in the table.
    All column names must be unique within a table.
    Action: Specify a unique name for the new column, then re-execute the
    statement.
    ++++++
    1403 is no data found
    so most likely you are executing a
    select ... into ...
    which is user dependent through where clause
    that might be an explanation to your problem
    but more info is needed on that
    and surely you must clarify the ORA error you are getting.

  • Query about Email Address Format & PDF Output

    I'm using XML Publisher and an RTF word template linked to an Oracle XML file to generate PDF Purchase Orders.
    Part of the PDF output displays an email address.
    If the email address is in this format:
    [email protected]
    then when the PDF output is generated, the address is outputted into a clickable hyperlink which sends an email to:
    [email protected]
    However, if the email address is set to:
    [email protected]
    then the resulting email hyperlink will only be sent to:
    [email protected] (i.e. all to the right of the dot)...
    Just wondered if there is any way to stop this from happening?
    Thank you

    Sorry - I know months have passed since I first raised this query.
    Just double checking again, to see if anyone is aware of a workaround for this email issue? Is there anything I can do in the XSL in the background to force a particular email hyperlink format?
    Thank you

  • Problem with number-fields in PDF Output Using FOP

    When generating PDF Output using FOP as described in the utilitiy provided in the HTMLDB Studio http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=18326:44:12104450162492733947::::P44_ID:1522
    formatted numbers over 1,000 are resolved as characters (because of the comma) and are therefore right justified. This results in alignment issues for numeric columns.
    Does anyone have any ideas on how to work around this.
    Thanks,
    David

    Hello,
    Your probably going to have to edit the xslt to get the result either by stripping out the comma or by setting that column to explicitly align the way you want it.

  • Incomplete hyperlink in PDF output . HTML output works fine

    We have a 10g report that drills down to another report. The hyperlink to access the drill down report is very long (1080 chars).
    When generating HTML output, the url is complete and link works fine. When generating PDF output, link gets cut out and it does not work... incomplete link.
    Any ideas why this can be happening?

    hello,
    you might try to use the protocol prefix file:
    e.g. file:///d|/myfiles/test.xsl
    relative urls like d:/... are interpreted differently by
    browsers or acrobat reader.

  • FRM-40735 - unhandled exception ora-01422

    Hi ALL,
    I have stated getting the following error from one of our applicaiton:
    FRM-40735 KEY-F6 trigger raised unhandled exception ora-01422
    When I start this app using different user account other then the main user who own each and every table for the application I get the above error.
    But there is no problem with the user account who owns the app. Even I have given DBA privilages to the other user but they still having the above error.
    Any Idea?
    Cheers!

    There is an implicit cursor some where in your application that returns more than one row for a given condition.
    For example,
    Declare
    v_ename varchar2(30);
    Begin
    select ename into
    v_ename
    from emp;
    End;
    In this case, there could be more than one row in the table 'emp'.Solution for your case:
    Fix your select statement such that it retrieves only one row for the given condition or use a 'too_many_rows' exception handler.
