Unhappy to find out that I was lied to to get the sale

On January 9th of this year I went to my local Best Buy to look at computers because mine had crashed and I had decided to replace it since it was an older model. I was greeted by an associate and I told him specifically that I was looking to spend around $500-$600 and that the computer had to be able to handle a SECOND hard drive. He showed me a couple of different ones and I mentioned the second hard drive several times because I wanted all my data to go onto a the second drive. He continually assured me that the ones he was showing me would be able to handle a second drive. I finally settled on the HP Pavilion 500-424 and went home. Now that I can afford to purchase a second drive and began to look around for what would work on my computer I find that it CANNOT SUPPORT A SECOND DRIVE AS THERE IS NO SPACE FOR ONE. I'm extremely upset about this as it is too late to return the computer and I know that I should have looked into it more but as someone who doesn't know a lot about computers I would at least appreciate it if my local Best Buy wouldn;t lie to me just to get a sale. I would have spent a little more money or even waited till I had more money to get exactly what I wanted. Now I'm stuck with a basically, in my OPINION and for MY NEEDS, a useless computer. And since it seems the only to voice this is on these forums that's what I'm doing. The associates at Best Buy either need extra training or maybe be a little more concered with their customers NEEDS and MONEY. I don't have a lot of money as I'm sure many people do in this ecomony and I don't appreciate being lied to.

I just purchased extra storage for my iCloud. How and where do I access it? I purchased movies and audio books to find out that I didn't have enough storage (the reason for the extra storage purchase). I have no idea where to find them now. Help?!

I purchased 4 movies and 2 audio books from iTunes only to find out my iPad2 didn't have enough storage, so I purchased more storage from iCloud.
My iTunes account only shows the 4 movies that need to still be downloaded (not the two books) After purchasing 20GB from iCloud I am still receiving the "There is not enough available storage. You can manage your storage in Settings" message. I have gone to my Settings, where it shows I have the new, extra storage. I have set all the iCloud settings as shown on the Apple website. In my iCloud settings, it shows I have 17GB available out of 25GB. In my General settings, it shows that I have a capacity of 28.6 GB, while my Available is 2.9GB. (????)
I don't know why I still can't download the movies. I wouldn't know where to go (how to get to) the iCloud if I could...
Also, iTunes has sent me receipts for the movies and audio books I purchased as well. Where are they???

I have downloaded CC because Elements 13 will no longer work only to find out that CC won't work either! The error message is "The procedure entry point crtCreateSymbolic in kW could not be located in the dynamic link library MSVCR110.dll - any thought?!

Can anyone help with the problems starting either Elements 13 or CC? Adobe are aware of the problems but offer no solutions.

Unfortunately it still doesn't work! Maybe I should give up on Adobe products and look for a different photo managing software. Adobe doesn't seem to be interested in offering support of any kind!

I am using BO 6.5 i would like to know is there any formula which will give last value of month in report.
Further I would like to confirm if the formula I am to use for Max and Min is correct as:
Minimum =Min([Q1].[ValueAvg] In ([Q1].[Parameter];[Q1].[Element];[Q1].[Date]))
Maximum = Max([Q1].[ValueAvg] In ([Q1].[Parameter];[Q1].[Element];[Q1].[Date]))
where Q1 is the query name.

If you did not back up your iTunes library, the short answer is no, as the iPhone is designed to delete the music data when connecting to an new computer / hard drive.
.......however there are some 3rd party softwares designed to do this, and if you seek these out, they will likely work for you.

JCA: how to find out that import parameter is structure?

I'm using JCA to obtain import parameter of some function (com.sapportals.connector.metadata.functions.IParameter). Now, I'd like to switch program flow depend on kind of this import parameter (scalar, structure, table). Especially, I'm interested in finding out that import parameter is structure. In API I was only locate getStructure() method in IParameter. I tried to compare with null value, but it didn't solve my problem.

Do you mean that you deleted an app by mistake and you don't know which one it was?
Look for it in the Apps section of iTunes. If you used iTunes to sync your phone, just choose Install next to the app, then resync.

How to find out when dcpromo was run on a server?

Is there an event ID or something that gets logged that shows when dcpromo was run on a server? I am trying to figure out when a server was promoted to a domain controller.

multiple ways to find out when DCPROMO was executed......
* Check the DCPROMO.LOG in C:\Windows\Debug
* Check the creation dates of the folder for the NTDS.DIT file and the SYSVOL
* Check the creation of the computer account, the NTDS Settings object (all in AD)
this should give you an idea of when DCPROMO was executed

Our site is using tabs. We have few portlets in different tabs whose custom rendering depends on which tab the user has clicked.
Programmatically, how do we find out which tab was pressed?

Option 2 looks like a potential solution. Not quite elegant as you indicated, but will work.
I recall reading somewhere, before the release of 9.0.2.6, that in upcoming version 9.0.2.6/9.0.4 you should be able to programmatically determine the last tab clicked. If you could kindly confirm whether no such built-in mechanism (API, etc.) exist to find out last tab clicked in portal version 9.0.4? We're looking to implement this feature in database provider environment.

I would think the migration assistant transfers 100% of all contents...
When you are setting up a new Mac you can use Setup assistant the moment you boot the mac the first time. Setup Assistant will usually transfer everything. If you miss tha t moment and later launch Migration Assistant some library files will not be transferred. Migration assistant will not transfer system files, only User Files and Application files. I think, that is why your files are missing.

Best take an external drive with plenty of free disk space and plug it into your MacBook Pro.
Open the System drive, your Macintosh HD in the Finder and open the folder "Library", then "Application Support", then "GarageBand". Copy the folder
/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/ to your external drive by dragging it there.
Then open again the folder "Library" on your Macintosh HD, and this time open the folder "Audio" inside. Copy the folder
/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/
to your externall drive. Eject the drive and plug it into your iMac.
Now compare the AppleLoops folders and instrument library folders and copy all missing items over to the corresponding folders in the iMac's Library.
Afterwards you need to reindex the loops, by dragging any loop you newly installed onto the Loop Browser in garageband, see: Rebuilding the Loop Index in GarageBand

IIcannot invite my buddies to video chat. The option is greyed out. I have ichat 6.0.1. What's weird is that I was able to connect to the same users (who all have macs) when I first got my mac six months ago. I have a macbook pro. I am running Lion.

The video icon does not appear next to the users' names, and it is greyed out in the menu screen. What is weird is that I was able to chat with the same buddies successfully in the past? And sporadically, they are able to invite me. But otherwise, it doesn't work. I can't invite them to video chat. They are all mac users with built in cameras, so why won't this work? The video chat option was a huge reason for my getting a mac to keep in touch with my family. Can you help me out?

So the Bandwidth Limit was set at None and is now set at 500kbps
This should smooth out any variances that high speed interent connections have.
The Speed test results.
The Ping thing is measured in microseconds.
It is the time taken for one single packet of data to get to the server is question and get back info that it got there.
Smaller numbers are better.
You then have Download speed. The Headline speed that the ISPs tell you about (They may even tell you have fast a movie of music file will download)
The Upload speed is the most important here as iChat is Sending (uploading) your Picture and Sound to your Buddy.
The results you post are in Mbps (Megabits per sec) or part of.
The Minimum for iChat is measured in kbps (kilobits per sec)
For 1-1 video chats this is about 128kbps - So you have an upload about 6 times this.
The Min for 3 and 4 way Video Chats is 384kbps and you have about twice this speed (0.69Mbps = About 690kbps - more than enough)
NOTE:
The math used here is rough - using based 10 whereas in fact it is actually base 8
Some other Checks
iChat will Video to any Buddy using iChat form any type of Buddy List
This means it will Video to Google Buddy using a Jabber Buddy List as long as the Buddy is also using iChat
The same is true in iChat 6 of the Yahoo option.
With AIM Names it should (I stress Should) also video chat to PC users using AIM for PC or the Trillian App with the Pro extension (which Costs) - people seem to get better result with Trillian than with AIM.
iChat will NOT video to anyone (PC or Mac) logged in to the Google Mail web Chat (either on iGoogle or and Google Mail page for their Account).
Nor to the Standalone PC app called GoogleTalk.
If you are using a Yahoo Buddy list it will not Video to a PC user using the PC Yahoo App nor to a Mac user using the Yahoo for Mac Beta 3 (not matter what build).
Any in this section will not show Video or Audio icons.

This makes no sense. I can go online to various "photo shop" place and regardless of the OS and computer I am working from I can order a photo album so why can I no longer do this through iPhoto on my MAC?
How do I order my album now? If somebody could please explain as I am going home in 1 month and really wanted to surprise my aging parents with this book.

How to find out that particular structure is used in which tables

Most of the times through techinal information we come to know the table name for a particular field.And in se16 when i give that table name than system says its structure and not the table.So in se11 when i give that structure name in database table field, its shows all the field in that structure, but not the data stored in that field.
So my question is how to find out that particular structure is used in which tables,so that i can view data stored in that structure?

Dear,
When you click on the technical information it will give the structure name and field, double click on the structure and it will take you the display structure screen, there you will have the where-used List icon (Ctrl + Shift + F3) at the top , click on that and it will show the options, select Database tables and execute, it will give the tables related to the structure, you can explore the list of tables and find where your required field is stored in them.

How to find out that recovery is sufficient

HEllo all,
Lets say I am running recovery of database (no RMAN) and I apply few redologs. How can I find out that recovery done on datafiles so far is sufficient and datafiles are in consistent state so I can open DB w/o problems? I mean , I know that I would get error in case I try to open DB and datafiles need more recovery, but I would like to see some kind of proof on my screen that recovery is not finished (probably some v$ view or something ).
Or it does not have to be an option that I am running recovery of DB, it can be that my DB is running and there is some failure which will require media recovery . Where can I see expect logs that I need to recover because of this or that does not match (I guess in some v$view for datafiles will be mismatch of some numbers comparing to v$controlfile or v$database view.....or??? )

You claim to have done an Offline Backup. And yet, Oracle asked for Recovery. Then there might be something wrong with your backup.
Here I do a normal shutdown of the database and when I MOUNT, I see that the files are NOT Fuzzy :
