Unhide photos

I just wanted to know how do I unhide pics on the BB Curve 9330?? Help please!!!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Here's how:
Homescreen > Media > > Explore > (navigate to the folder containing the hidden item) > > Show Hidden > (highlight, but don't select, the item) > > Properties > Uncheck the "Hidden" attribute
Yes, it seems cumbersome, but, then again, hiding is something done for a purpose, so unhiding shouldn't be as simple.
Good luck!

  • How do I hide and unhide photos in Photos for Mac

How do I hide and unhide photos in Photos for Mac ? Also, how do I delete an Album ? It appears that Photos is a work in progress that is only about 10% done. The Help in Photos is essentially useless. Where can I find the equivalent of a manual or instruction book?

How do I hide and unhide photos in Photos for Mac ?
You can hide photos in the Photos view, but not in the albums:
Select some photos, ctrl-click, select "Hide".  Unhide from the Hidden Album.
Also, how do I delete an Album
You can only delete albums that you created, not the built-in albums.
Select the album in the Sidebar. Ctrl-click it. Select "Delete Album".

I have not read this book yet, but the series is usually very good:
"Photos for Mac: A Take Control Crash Course," penned by Jason Snell, formerly of Macworld and now at Six Colors.

  • Hide/Unhide photo shortcut?

Is there a Hide/Unhide photo keyboard shorcut? There is none listed on the shortcut list.
Having a shortcut would seem critical for a good workflow: View your Album/Event full screen and just press next and (if necessary) hide the photo...
I guess the other alternative would be to add it myself using Keyboard Shortcuts under Keyboard and Mouse in the System preferences.
[Edit] Nevermind - just found it - Command L [/Edit]

    Hi Hannes,
Use the menu Edit >> Keyboard Shortcuts to modify/create new shortcut keys for the menu commands in AI.
Just select the option "Menu Commands" in the drop-down list and modify/create them accordingly.

  • Unhiding photos? Iphoto 09 version 8.1.2

No matter what I try... I mistakenly hide photos. I found them in the 'trash' and restored them to my library and eventually got them to appear in the 'faces' library but they have an X in the upper right hand corner. I want to remove this so it appears as though I never hide the pictures.
I read if I right click on the picture with the 'X', I should get a menu to select 'show', but I can't find anything and the 'X' remains. Help please.
This is for Iphoto 09 version 8.1.2

Command - l will hide  photo, and doing it again will unhide (and remove the Red X)
Or look under the Photos Menu. Select a Pic with the Red X and the option will become 'Unhide...'

  • Iphoto unhide photos

I have iphoto '11 (version 9.4.3) running on OSX version 10.8.3.
In events view when I mouse over an event it states that there are 63 photos in that event.
When I double click on that event to open it the title bar states that there are 11 photos.
The information pane at the right hand side states there are 63 photos.
I can only see 11 thumbnails.
From the menu selecting [View >Hidden Photos] makes no difference, it still only shows 11 thumbnails.
Any advise on how to see the missing 52 thumbnails?
    Regards,
    Ramon

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • How do I unhide photos in iphoto

Most of the things that I am reading are telling me to hit the view tab, but I cannot find the view tab?

It's not a tab, it's the button in the menu bar titled "View."

  • A photo found in the iPhoto library that was not imported

Every time I open iPhoto, I receive a message saying "A photo has been found in the iPhoto library that was not imported. Would you like to import it?" If I select yes, a box pops up saying "Unreadable file. The file was not imported, the file was missing." and then the photo's path. If I select no, the photo gets placed in a recovery file. I can see the photo in the recovery file, it is a photo that I locked (and maybe marked hidden - if you can even do both). I've tried to go into my iPhoto and unhide photos so that I can unlock the original...I've also tried unlocking the photo in the recovered file. I've tried deleting the photo in the recovery file as well...I can unlock it in Finder and delete it, but (with my limited knowledge of computers) I've determined that I must only be deleting a copy. Where is the original...I'd like to delete it. I don't even need this pic anymore and it is SERIOUSLY IRRITATING ME every time I open iPhoto. And that's often, as I'm always taking pics of my little one. TIA!!!!! Sara

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for a Folder called 'Import' or 'Importing'.
Drag it to the Desktop. *Make no other changes*.
    Start iPhoto. Does that help?

  • I accidently hit hide as I was selecting a group of photos. How do I find them?

How do I recover a group of pictures after I accidentally hit "hide"?

Go to the "View" menu in iPhoto and enable "Hidden Photos".  This will make the photos visible again in their events and in albums.
Create a smart album to show all hidden photos:
New > Smart album, with the rule "Photo is Hidden"
Select all photos in this album and use the command "Photos > Unhide Photo".

  • Hidden photos in Photos.

Why aren't my hidden photos in iPhoto Events hidden in Photos anymore? The whole point of hiding them is so people cannot see them anywhere without unhiding them!

    The migration unhides them
    Show or hide photos
You can hide selected photos and show them only when you want to see them. Hiding a photo can be useful if you don’t want to use it, but you’re not sure you want to delete it.
Hide photos: Select the photo or photos, choose Image > Hide [number] Photos, then click Hide Photos. The selected photos disappear from your moments, but are not deleted.
Show hidden photos: Click Albums in the toolbar, then choose View > Show Hidden Photo Album. The Hidden Photos album appears among your other albums. To unhide photos in it, select them, then choose Image > Show Photo.

  • The new Photos app

I'm having trouble fully hiding photos and videos. Yes, a hidden photo/video will be hidden in the "Photos" main section but once you go into "Albums" those hidden photos/videos are all there in the "All Photos" and "Videos" albums. If you right-click on one of those photos from within the Albums section, it will show the photo as being marked hidden (i.e., it will say "unhide photo") but it's still showing up, which defeats the purpose of hiding. In iPhoto, if all the contents of an Event were hidden, then the Event wouldn't even show up on the main page but there doesn't seem to be a way of doing this in Photos.
    Am I missing something?

NO, you are not missing anything. This is how Photos currently works. In addition to the examples you cited, "hidden" photos are also exposed in Faces.

  • Aperture previews/Can't see Aperture library in other apps.

This isn't really a new problem for me, but I decided to ask now to see if it can be fixed somehow. I use Aperture 3.4.5, OSX 10.8.4. The problem is that Aperture doesn't show up under the Media tab when in other apps. For instance, in Mail if I try to attach a picture. It shows iPhoto and Photobooth. But I get an error when I click on Aperture that tells me I need to turn on sharing to iLife in the preferences of Aperture. But this is turned on. Still no access to the Aperture library. Same thing in iTunes. Now, since my Aperture and iPhoto libraries are linked I can just choose the photos I want to attach from the iPhoto library. But I want to choose the Aperture library!!
But it won't let me. I cannot add projects/folders to my iPhone or iPad in iTunes either. I get the same turn on the sharing message. And I have this turned on.
I've seen a few other people with this problem in searches I have done but I have not seen any solutions...
    Help?!?

So your Aperture library is in fact a previous iPhoto library.
Correct. When I purchased Aperture, I imported from my iPhoto library. And I guess they are shared.
I am still not quite sure about the state of your iPhoto/Aperture library.  Depending on when you bought Aperture, you may have imported the iPhoto Library into a new Aperture Library; then you now have an Aperture library, or you may have simply opened the iPhot Library in Aperture, keeping it an iPhoto Library.  The Finder can show you what it is.
Select your library in the Finder and use the Finder command "Get Info ⌘I". The Info panel will show you the type of the library.
Disclose the "General" brick in the panel. The "Kind" will either show "iPhoto Library" or "Aperture Library".
Then disclose the  "Name & Extension" brick and look, if your library has a filename extension - aplibrary or photolibrary. Uncheck "Hide Extension" to see it.
If your library still is "Kind iPhoto Library", then you never imported your Library, you only used it in Aperture.
Or if you want to use iPhoto and Aperture with separate photo libraries, import your current library into a new Aperture library. Open your now empty Aperture Library in Aperture by double-clicking it. Then use the command "File > Import > Library" in Aperture and select your iPhoto library. This will import all events, albums, etc. into your empty Aperture Library  and craete a copy of the iPhoto library, but now it will have the kind "Aperture Library" and the Media Browser should show it in the Aperture section and not the iPhoto section. Only make sure, that you unhide all photos in iPhoto, before you do that. Aperture cannot unhide photos that have been hidden in iPhoto.
My question here is if I go into my new Aperture Library, and import from iPhoto again (and I guess make them not shared?) Will it then *copy* my iPhoto library, which is 240GB. Then I would have 2 240GB folders??
I appreciate the help so far. Right now I'm doing the generate preview thing again, which is taking awhile. But I'm guessing that since my iPhoto and Aperture libraries are linked and shared now this won't matter much. I will still only see iPhoto listed in the Media Browser..
Let's talk about that part of your question when we know for sure, if you already imported your iPhoto library or simply opened it in Aperture. If your library is an Aperture library with an imported iPhoto library inside there may be additional complications.

  • I have a blackout covering the red X and minimize window in upper right corner. How do I get rid of it?

Windows performed an update yesterday and now I have a shield in the corner of my Foxfire icon and I have a blackout over the red X and minimize window in the upper right corner when I sign on to Foxfire. How do I get rid of it?

The large "X" means that the image is still marked as hidden, but as you see the hidden photos, you now have turned on "hidden Photos" in the "View" menu of the main menu bar.
To remove the "Hidden" mark, select the image in the event and use the command "Photos > Unhide Photo ⌘L"
