Unicode (Chinese) As Input In Global_AddressCleanse Transformation

Hi All,
Is it possible to use Unicode fields as input () for Global Address Transformation.
I am using Data Service 3.0.
If I use unicode fields as data input , Data Services does not perform any cleaning , infact it does give the output fields itself.
Thanks,
Amit

Hi all,
I can not figure out what is causing it to sometimes save as Unicode and sometimes as ANSI. Please let me know if there is anything further I can provide.
Hi, alex,
The file seems to be saved correctly and its not saved as Unicode. The file opened as Unicode.
Do simple experiment:
1. Start Notepad:
2. Type 'AAAA BBB CCC DDDDD':
3. Save it. As you can see in hex viewer, my file is correct:
4. Now open this file in notepad, you will be surprised:
This is true for XP, not sure how it works with Windows 7.
Try to open your file in that way:

  • Chinese trackpad input not working - won't insert characters

    Hi all,
I've been trying to set up chinese character input for an hour already, and no luck yet. I've read tons of articles here but the solutions mentioned made no difference.
I open TextEdit (or Chrome, Notes, Safari... any app, really) and hit ctrl-shift-space bar. The little handwriting recognition window comes up. I draw a character, it's recognized correctly, I tap the appropriate place to insert it... and nothing happens.
It doesn't seem to be a font issue, because even if I draw a 3, for instance, it is simply not inserted.
    I'm using 10.8.5
    Thanks

That is a sign of an expanding battery.  Bring the MBP to an Apple store genius bar ASAP.
You can remove the battery if you have a #00 Phillips driver for the back panel and a #0 Triwing driver to remove the battery.  The Triwing may not be easy to get locally.
    Ciao.

  • Chinese Character Input?

Hi, I have snow leopard and I was wondering how to do the chinese character input, I know that you use the trackpad, but where do I go to do it? Thanks

First of all you need to turn-on the features on the International Panel Located in the Preference area.
I have encounter some bugs on the TrackPad Input. It recognize the characters quite well but, it is quite difficult to delete or accept characters you will understand what I'm saying when you tried it out.

  • Chinese Character Input (trackpad) and Spaces

I use Spaces religiously and I can't seem to find a way to enable the Chinese Character Input (trackpad) for any space other than the first space. If I enable Chinese Character Input (controlshiftspacebar) on any space but the first one (upper left) then the Chinese Character Input dialog appears on the first space but not the space I am on. Anyone else experiencing this?

Try setting up a new user account and see if the same problem occurs when you are logged into that.

  • No chinese language input in keyboard

i was playing with my brother's ipad trying to get the hang of it before i buy myself one. i noticed on the keyboard that there is no chinese language input like that in the iphone.
is there really one or do i have to download a software or whatever.
by the way, my bro bought in the states, and we are located in asia.
wondering if it will be included in the asian release.

i noticed on the keyboard that there is no chinese language input like that in the iphone.
Do you really not see the option for Simplified Chinese? If not, something is wrong with your system.
The iPad does not yet have input for Traditional Chinese. It is one of the 2 dozen keyboards which are in the iPhone but not yet ported to the iPad. Presumably Apple will add it in the future via a software update, but nobody can tell you when. There is no way to add it yourself.
If you are talking about Traditional Chinese, tell Apple you want it here:

Hello World. To those who speak, read and write in chinese.
I was just playing with the chinese trackpad input and it rocks, I liked it since it first appeared on the iphone, but SL just put it on a whole new level. Talk about localization....go Apple Inc.
Note: One thing I would love to see on a future build of MAC OS is localization of lang.'s using text to speech. Now that would be some $&^(^(*&....

I think this is present already, but you have to acquire the voices elsewhere.

  • Magic Trackpad with Chinese writing input

Does the new Magic Trackpad work with OS X 10.6 Chinese writing input as on the Macbook Pro with multi-touch trackpad?
    cheers.

The trick was to deselect all Chinese-input forms and reboot. Then it was available.
Just as a reminder, if you use spaces, you'll probably want to:
    " go to: System/Library/Input Methods/, Find ChineseHandwriting.app
then open system preference, Exposé & Spaces, click on Spaces
then drag ChineseHandwriting.app into the application assignments
then set space to Every Space
Actually, that worked on my MacBook Pro, but it doesn't seem to have worked yet on my Mac Pro. Hmmm... Possibly have to reboot.

  • Chinese ITABC Input freezes when typing more then 3 "ha"s at the same time.

This is a funny problem. I am Chinese, often i use the Simplified Chinese ITABC input system to type Chinese words.
The error happens when i try to type in "hahahaha" 4 "ha" all at the same time. "ha" are just the sound of laughter (it looks like this 哈 in Chinese, so 4 of them looks like this 哈哈哈哈), and i do that often in a IM conversation with my Chinese friends.
Everytime i type more then three "ha" at the same time, the ITABC input system will freeze, and i have to quit and relaunch the program that i am using the ITABC input system before i can type Chinese again. Mmmmm... Btw and it only happen with 4 "ha", other words are fine. It's kind of a funny error, and it happens with any program when i input hahahaha with ITABC.
I'm not sure if it's just my system, but i am ok if there aren't any solutions other than reinstall the system. Well maybe just have a laugh. hahahaha.

it happens with any program when i input hahahaha with ITABC.
You might want to ask on the Chinese-Mac mailing list whether anyone else has seen this or has a possible fix.

  • Export to flat file with unicode (chinese) characters??

I have an SSIS (2013) package that needs to send an email notification with query results (via attachment). I have a data flow task with a source sql query that gathers 2 columns - ID and NAME. ID is varchar, NAME is nvarchar (some records have Chinese symbols).
The destination is a .txt file. When I copy/paste a field w/ Chinese symbols to a .txt file, it shows up fine, so i know Notepad can handle the characters. I also have the .txt file set to Unicode encoding (I also tried ANSI originally). When I run the package,
it says that it successfully moves 50 fields to the flat file. However, when I open the flat file, I see that it shows 10 records. It stops when it gets to the record with a Chinese symbol in it...but doesn't produce an error. My plan was to then take the
attachment and use it in a Send Mail task. (i have the smtp/mail notification working fine...just need to figure out how to get the data to all export to the flat file correctly)
Does anyone know how I can get the ID and NAME fields from a query into an email notification (either as an attachment, or even formatted nicely (with tabs) in an email would work).

    Hi,
Based on my test, I can reproduce the similar issue in my environment. When we create the Flat File Connection Manager with the default settings, the data in flat file stops when goes to the Chinese characters.
To fix the issue that makes the Chinese characters to actually get written into the flat file, we should check the Unicode checkbox on the right hand side of Locale property in Flat File Connection Manager. In this way, the flat file can display Chinese
    characters.

  • Splitting an input file using Transformation agent

Hi, I am trying to use transformation agent (adobe output central pro v5.5) to take and input file and split it into many output files based on a text string in the file.
However instead of splitting the file it, each output file containts all the input records upto the next file boundary. What I need is just the records between the file boundaries.
Any ideas what I have got wrong, or could this be a feature of the Trans Agent?
    my TDF file is;
    O " N 1500 N N N N O
    F "^$PAGE 1" 1 8 -5
    E data1 * "" 1 0 * 1 60 0 0 ""
    #startscript Head
    ^job invoice_arch.pdf
    #endscript
    #startscript *
    #for data1
    @data1
    #endfor
    #endscript
    thanks in advance
