Unicode problem

Hi all,
  I have a small problem with teh rfc destinations. Earlier the RFC destinations were between two non-unicode system . now if the destination system is made unicode enabled then in that case will it show me a logon screen for that destination system? because i m getting one.and I am trying to figure out why?
Also my logon screen check box is not ticked. Still it shows me the log on screen
can anyone help me in this.to understand why this problem is comming
Thanks.

Hi....
Hope you have checked the setting....
If you are sure with it, i just want to share one thing from my experiance....
Just reset the password of RFC connection.. and put it in capital... eg. Instead of 'Permit123' , put it 'PERMIT123' ... We got this issue to connect 4.6B and XI...
Just a guess!!!!

  • UNICODE Problem when Download to TXT/ASC file.

    Dear Experts,
    Due to the Unicode system takes each chinese character as a byte, the field(10) can take 10 Chinese Characters, not like before only 5 characters allowed.
    The problem is when the data is downloaded to a txt file, the field ,length 10, contained Characters, is displayed 10 chinese characters(that's 20 bytes in txt file). It causes the displayed field length are varied between the definition length of field and the actual output.
    ex.
    102’†•¶ŽšŒ^‘ª00012345       --> the output I actully want.
    102’†•¶ŽšŒ^‘ª     000012345  --> unicode makes this in txt file, lenth 10, fill 5 characters but still leave 5 space.
    How to make system take the chinese characters as 2 bytes when download....or any other better idea for this?
    anyone who can solve this, that's life saving..!!!
    thanks in advnace.

    Sorry, the chinese chararcters cannot display properly,
    so just assume each '@' as a chinese character. Five chinese Characters should occupy whole field length(10),
    but Unicode makes it like line 2, still leave 5 space culomn behind(using to represent the empty column).
    ex.
    102@@@@@00012345      --> the output I actully want.
    102@@@@@000012345 -- the actual output.
    thanks.

    Hi Prashant and Uwe,
    Thanks for your help. I used 'GUI_UPLOAD', but it still doesn't work.
    'Text1' still equal to '12@@@@@00012' , not '12@@@@@'
    My test problem as below:
    data: l_file type string.
            text1(20) type c.
    DATA: BEGIN OF T_FICH OCCURS 0,
             LIGNE(5000),

  • Oracle Provider for OLE DB on Vista SSIS Unicode Problem

    I wrote a few SSIS packages on my XP computer using the 10.2.0.2 OLE DB Provider which work fine.
    Now I'm trying to migrate to a Vista computer... I loaded the Vista certified 10.2.0.3 client and can connect to Oracle databases no problem.
    The problem is when openning the packages that work fine. For some reason its now seeing the non-unicode columns from the Oracle database as unicode and can't validate the OLE DB Data Sources.
    Any ideas?

    I thought I'd let everyone know that I had resolved the problem. It came down to the order of the installations, and possibly what I had been installing.
    Initially I had only run the 10.2.0.3 Client Install for Vista. Everything worked fine except for the unicode issue. This last time, after removing everything Oracle, I installed the ODT with ODAC 10.2.0.2.21 into its own new home "ODACHome1". Then I ran the 10.2.0.3 Client Install for Vista and chose the same home as the ODAC install (the installer complained but I continued). I then performed a "Custom" install and only choose to upgrade the Oracle Net to 10.2.0.3 from the 10.2.0.1 that wouldn't work under vista. Thats it, thats all I chose.
    The installer completed successfully and now everything is working fine. SSIS is recognizing them as it did on XP. Also, I was able to repeat this and get it to break again...

  • Unicode problem: Converting operations on type X operands

    I've got a problem converting a function module to unicode functionality: the original coding performs MOVE and SHIFT operations on operands of type X. The extended syntax check after unicode flag is set fails as X or XSTRING are not considered character-like anymore, of course, as these operations wouldn't delivery a stable result due to the variable lengths in UTF-8. Simply using type C, String or any other character-like operand type instead wouldn't help either, of course, because all  bytestream information would be lost. Does anyone have recommandation on how I can solve this issue?
    Thanks in advance!
    Andy
    Here's an example for the original coding (importhash = import parameter):
    DATA: OP1(10) TYPE X,
    SLEN TYPE I.
    DATA: OP2(12) TYPE X,
    DATA: T_OP2 TYPE SOMEINTEGER WITH HEADER LINE,
    T_OP1 TYPE SOMEINTEGER WITH HEADER LINE,
    OP1 = SOMECHARACTER.
    SLEN = STRLEN( OP1 ) / 2.
    MOVE SLEN TO THE_OP1.
    APPEND THE_OP1.
    DO SLEN TIMES.
    MOVE OP1+0(1) TO T_OP1.
    APPEND T_OP1.
    SHIFT OP1.
    ENDDO.
    MOVE IMPORTHASH+0(2) TO SLEN.
    MOVE SLEN TO T_OP2.
    APPEND T_OP2.
    OP2 = IMPORTHASH.
    SHIFT OP2.
    DO SLEN TIMES.
    MOVE OP2+0(1) TO T_OP2.
    APPEND T_OP2.
    SHIFT OP2.
    ENDDO.

    Hi,
    Especially for Unicodes, it is recommended to separate the Data declarations into a separate Type pool.
    DATA: OP1(10) TYPE X,
    SLEN TYPE I.
    DATA: OP2(12) TYPE X,
    Mark the type pool as unicode active. Then, use this type pool in your program.
    The class variables in CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES may also help you.
    Cheers,
    Bhanu

  • PHP and UNICODE problem

    Hello,
    I'm using MaxDB v 7.8.02.21 (64bit) on Windows7 Home Premium with SP1 (64bit).
    I want to read data in PHP v 5.3.6 (Appache 2.2.19), but I have a problem when there are some UNICODE characters in the table.
    My table is:
    create table "ADMIN"."T"(
         "NAME" VARCHAR (1000) UNICODE)
    insert t set name = 'a'
    insert t set name = 'u0103'
    insert t set name = 'b'
    The problem occurs only when there is some character which is coded on 2 bytes (example: ă = UNICODE 0103).
    My PHP code looks like:
    // connect
    $conn = odbc_pconnect($db_name, $db_user, $db_password) or die('Error connecting to server. Server says: '.htmlspecialchars(odbc_errormsg()));
    if(!$conn)
    die("Bad entry to database!");
    // query
    $queryDual = odbc_exec($conn,"Select * from t");
    while($row = odbc_fetch_array($queryDual))
    echo $row['NAME'];
    echo 'num rows: '.odbc_num_rows($queryDual);
    the result is:
    a
    num rows :3
    So it seams, that reading from database fails on character 'ă'.
    It is really interesting because when I make next query:
    // query
    $queryDual = odbc_exec($conn,"Select 'u0103' as name from t");
    while($row = odbc_fetch_array($queryDual))
    echo $row['NAME'];
    echo 'num rows: '.odbc_num_rows($queryDual);
    the result is:
    'ă'
    'ă'
    'ă'
    num rows :3
    It seams that there is no problem to transfer 'ă' character from DB to PHP but there is some problem when 'ă' character is stored in the DB table.

    Hi,
    Could you please check wheter you have set parameter UNICODE= YES in MaxDB database.
    Regards,
    Deepak Kori

  • Unicode Problem (KhmerOs Unicode)

    I develop one web site use Flex Builder 2. I want to use one
    unicode "KhmerOS" with my website. I want to use this unicode with
    TextInput and TextArea. Both of this tool is display "?" when i
    type. I embeded font and used with unicode rang already but it
    still display "?" in those tools.
    <mx:Style>
    @font-face{
    font-family:Khmer OS;
    src:url("assets/KhmerOS.ttf");
    unicode-range: U+1780-U+17FF, U+19E0-U+19FF;
    </mx:Style>
    I don't know how to solve this problem?

    Unicode is not the same as UTF-8, as Unicode consists of 2 bytes for each character whereas utf-8 only uses 2 bytes for special characters.
    So the fist question is, have you entered unicode (2byte characters) or utf-8 special characters entered into the text field?
    Can you post the character codes you have entered and seen this behavior?
    Next you should make sure you get the correct data from the DB. To do this you can debug your code and set a breakpoint right after you get the data from the DB (I guess into a string variable), the check the string using the data inspector. Look at the bytes, not at the string itself (open the string node to see the internal representation).

  • A java unicode problem against MySQL

    Hi members,
    need your suggestions regarding a weird problem.
    I have a standalone java utility which is used parse xmls containing english and hindi text and store the data in MySQL. I can see data stored as hindi in the MySQL database. the data is correctly stored in the database.
    All character sets and collations seem to be set correct. Character set in Mysql itable, columns and database is UTF8 and Collations are utf8_unicode_ci.
    But the problem now is that, when i try to retrieve the data from the database - the hindi text comes out as ???????.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.
    MySQL 5.0
    JDBC - 5.0
    Connection uri = String uri = "jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/DATABASE_NAME?useUnicode=true&characterEncoding=UTF8";
    Thanks,
    VK

    Vishal.MK wrote:

    A "?" is generated when you try to convert some text into an encoding that doesn't support the Unicode codepoints used in the text. For example, if you try to convert 3 Unicode codepoints from the Hindi area into ISO-8859-1 (which basically supports the latin alphabet only) you'll get 3 question marks.
    How do you print that text? If you use System.out.println() and are using Windows, then you should know that the Windows command line window (used by cmd.exe and java.exe) only has very limited support for text outside the current locales code page.
    Try displaying the String using Swing (JOptionPane is probably the easiest way) or print the separate values of the characters of the String to verify that they are restored correctly.

  • Help w/ iTunes 9x Unicode problem

    I recently upgrade my OS from Vista to Win7, performed via a clean installation. Before blowing out the old OS, I copied my full itunes library (itunes 9.x) to an external drive. Once win7 was installed, I installed itunes again from scratch (v 9.x). After shutting down itunes, I replaced the itunes folder in "my music", with the itunes folder that I copied to the external drive. After restarting itunes i found that all my music, playlists, podcasts, etc...all there. Plugged in my ipod and it sync'd no problem.
    BUT, I have thousands of Japanese songs and the ID tags are now all messed up...I just see boxes instead of Japanese text. I tried right click, "convert id tags", "reverse unicode" but it doesn't help. Looking at the underlying files (from Windows explorer) the files that are named in Japanese text still display the file names in proper unicode, but when I "get info" from w/in itunes, the filenames displayed here show scrambled filenames as well. Even my ipod still displays the correct Japanese language tags even after syncing with the new win7 itunes installation.
    How can I get itunes to "fix" the way it displays the unicode ID tags?

    OK, How about this...
    Does anyone else here keep media on an network attached Disk? How about and Airdisk?
    If so do you have similar issues? Did you at one time? How did you address the issues?
    Thanks. I really feel like this should be working fine and maybe there is one or two things I'm missing.

  • Safari 5.1 Mac 10.6.8 -- URL, Unicode problem

    The site, which i use everyday, uses links containing symbols { }.
    After installing update 5.1, the links which i visited but opened in another tab of Safari are no longer marked grey, as visited links.
    I've found out why. If you open a link in the same tab containing this link, then everything is OK, symbols { } appear in the URL.
    But if you open this link in another tab, you get { } replaced by Unicode HEX value,  e.g. } = %7D
    That's why it becomes "another" URL.

    Yes i agree, the site which i use doesn't comply with standarts, but i cannot change it.
    But Safari behaves differently when you open the link inside one tab and when the same link opened in another tab.
    That's also some kind of error in the program - it uses different procedures for the same action obviously.

  • ABAP client proxy wildcard/unicode problem

    Hello,
    i have an abap client proxy. The target system is a non sap system. For one input field of the request, a wildcard search is possible (with sign %, field type = string).
    If i exceute the proxywith the wildcard sign '%' i get following error message:

    If i call the target system directly (for examle with jmeter), i get a response even with wildcard sign '%'.
    It seems that there is a generell conversion problem at the sap client proxy. Do you have any ideas?
    Is the problem maybe the transformation of the request, or the calling of the target system?
    Thanks a lot!
