Unicode test conversion - skip some steps?

Hi all,
We will be upgrading our system from R/3 4.7x200 to ERP2005, and we have recently successfully upgraded our sandbox R/3 4.7x200 system to ERP2005, all pretty much without too much of a hassle. Now we are planning to do a unicode conversion on the same sandbox system, to get some idea about the runtime of such a conversion. The problem is that we are short on time, and I wonder what the effects will be if I skip some of the steps that should be done before we begin with the actual conversion phase (R3load). I have done some of the pre-conversion steps, but not all, and I wonder if there are some that I absolutely MUST do in order to get through the actual conversion?
In the end, we are not looking for a functioning system after this test conversion, we are only interested in the runtime and downtime findings.

Hi,
You cannot skip same conversion step.
the good ideas is to use the released method by SAP to do upgrade/conversion at the same time. this will save you time.

I'm a newbie in Solaris 10. I had some problems in installation Solaris 10:
I downloaded installation packet for x64/x86 (DVD) on site Sun.I want to install Solaris 10 on my PC AMD 2500+.I connect to internet through a LAN.
1)In process installation, some steps for configuring Network ( from 5 to 15 in Solaris 10 installation guide) were skipped automatically. It has been directly moved to 16-th step(setup Time and region). Then i tried to finish installing it. But in working with it, i recognized that Network card had been not found( i use NVIDIA nForce MCP Networking Adapter). I typed some command in console shell :
$netstat -in
loo...........
and received only one row like above.
i have tried some times , but not succeeded
2)Port USB is also not working

Hello Anton,
it's not so much skipping as doing it only when needed.
In your approval workflow, you create one of the approval steps with mandatory (or automatic) risk analysis.
On that stage, you then define a Detour on SoD conflicts which you point to your risk approval path.

Is there a possibility of doing a test conversion prior to subscription to ExportPDF?

I would like to seriously consider a susbscription to online Adobe ExportPDF.
However I have seen a number of other online conversion systems that are simply not good enough.
Is there some way I can make a couple of test conversions of pdf's to Word to see just how Exprort PDF functions and how well it does that?

GET PERNR skips some employees in the report

Hi all.
This is my first post in this forum. I'm beginner in ABAP programming and I've got a issue in my report that I don't succeed in solving it.
In the first line of the source code, within the start-of-selection event, I use the GET PERNR command to bring the employee personnel numbers. While I was debugging I've noted this command was skipping some employees. There isn't any line of code before the GET PERNR.
Do you have any ideia about what's happening?

here is another probably cause. The dates. It´s important that the employees,
are active in the infotype(I think that is Infotype 0), in the dates that check your program. It´s useful to know
the selection data period (pnpbegda/pnpendda), the employees selection data (pnpbegps/pnpendps), the radiobutton selection data (pn-begda/pn-endda), of the pnp logical d.b.selection screen. You can see the values of these fields debbuging Ah!, another point, start-of-selection & Get pernr, are differents events in the execution of an abap program.

There's not really any simple way to do this. Maybe tracking the page the user should be one from every page in the site and if the page being accessed is the same as the last one accessed, assume it was a refresh.

Option to "buy calendar" at the bottom is grayed out. Am I skipping a step?

Skipping disabled step in GAF

Hello All,
I am disabling a main step in a GAF FPM at runtime by calling method IF_FPM_GAF->enable_mainstep in the OVERRIDE_EVENT_GAF method of interface IF_FPM_GAF_CONF_EXIT.
However, the step is still being called when it is reached.
Moreover, the step is automatically re-enabled this.
Does anybody know if this is normal behaviour?
And if so, is there an efficient way of programming this in?
I suppose I could trigger a 2nd next_step event in the before_flush of the application controller to skip it, but will need to suppress any event processing validations for the relevant uibbs.

I do sometimes need the step - that's why I'm disabling it dynamically.The validation is there for the cases when I do need it.
Somehow I would have expected the FPM to have the intelligence to know by itself to skip a step that is disabled.
That's why I was wondering if maybe I was doing something wrong...
I've managed to do it now by raising the next_step event in the before_flush as I already suggested myself, but this is more work as I would have liked it to be - I even need to re-disable it as the next_step apparently reenables it.
