Unidentified Subscriber and number not recognised voice message

I have read a few theories on the above. I have one number that today started showing the red cross and unidentified subscriber message. Earlier I had called the number and it said "number not recognised" yet it was contactable previously. Very frustrating when trying to contact business clients. Any ideas?

No there aren't any spaces or punctuation added.
I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the international dialing code (+44 for UK) being added to the numbers but the leading zero for the local area codes not being removed. For example, a Birmingham number has the area code 0121 but if using the international code it would be +44121 (no 0). The numbers in my contacts seem to have both (+440121).

I regret that you're having trouble setting up your email, corbad! You're on the right track with your incoming email address. You might also try incoming.verizon.net or incoming.yahoo.verizon.net as possible alternatives, and 995 as the port number. Please let me know how that goes!

Are you plugging the iPod into a high powered USB 2.0 port on the back of your PC? Have you tried a different USB cable?
What happens if you try to reset the device with it still connected to the PC?
How to reset iPod
Has this iPod ever worked on this PC or is this the first time you have time you have tried connecting it?
Have you carefully worked through each and every single suggestion in this Apple support document?

That could be a clear sign of a damaged hard disk. Can you try and force the iPod into Disk Mode and then connect it to iTunes so you can attempt a restore or even a low level reformat of the iPod's HD/file system.

HT1414 new iphone 3, had trouble setting up, took about 5 hours and call to Texas, finally sorted by following morning. Now after 5 weeks No Service suddenly appears and no closing down etc makes any difference. Connect to itunes and SIM not recognised!

what do you do when new iphone 3 will not accept SIM card which it has been doing since I bought it 6 weeks ago but now suddenly No Service and will not recognise SIM. First, though the phone is "new" to you, it really is a 5 year old piece of equipment. Ancient by current standards.

Make sure that your date and time settings and time zone are accurate (Settings - General - Date and Time). Reset your phone to 'Set Automatically' and then try signing in again - this worked for me. My date/time settings were not automatic (candy crush cheats!!).

If you are selling or giving away the computer then follow these instructions:
Follow these instructions step by step to prepare a Mac for sale:
Step One - Back up your data:
       A. If you have any Virtual PCs shut them down. They cannot be in their "fast saved" state. They must
           be shut down from inside Windows.
       B. Clone to an external drive using using Carbon Copy Cloner.
          1. Open Carbon Copy Cloner.
          2. Select the Source volume from the Select a source drop down menu on the left side.
          3. Select the Destination volume from the Select a destination drop down menu on the right side.
          4. Click on the Clone button. If you are prompted about creating a clone of the Recovery HD be sure
              to opt for that.
          Destination means a freshly erased external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
Step Two - Prepare the machine for the new buyer:
          1. De-authorize the computer in iTunes! De-authorize both iTunes and Audible accounts.
          2, Remove any Open Firmware passwords or Firmware passwords.
          3. Turn the brightness full up and volume nearly so.
          4. Turn off File Vault, if enabled.
          5. Disable iCloud, if enabled: See What to do with iCloud before selling your computer.
Step Three - Install a fresh OS:
     A. Snow Leopard and earlier versions of OS X
          1. Insert the original OS X install CD/DVD that came with your computer.
          2. Restart the computer while holding down the C key to boot from the CD/DVD.
          3. Select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu; repartition and reformat the internal hard drive.
              Optionally, click on the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass.
          4. Install OS X.
          5. Upon completion DO NOT restart the computer.
          6. Shutdown the computer.
     B. Lion and Mountain Lion (if pre-installed on the computer at purchase*)
         Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
                    because it is three times faster than wireless.
          1. Restart the computer while holding down the COMMAND and R keys until the Mac OS X
              Utilities window appears.
          2. Select Disk Utility from the Mac OS X Utilities window and click on the Continue button.
          3. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the left side list.
              Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
          4. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on the Security button
              and set the Zero Data option to one-pass.
          5. Click on the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
          6. Quit DU and return to the Mac OS X Utilities window.
          7. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
          8. Upon completion shutdown the computer.
*If your computer came with Lion or Mountain Lion pre-installed then you are entitled to transfer your license once. If you purchased Lion or Mountain Lion from the App Store then you cannot transfer your license to another party. In the case of the latter you should install the original version of OS X that came with your computer. You need to repartition the hard drive as well as reformat it; this will assure that the Recovery HD partition is removed. See Step Three above. You may verify these requirements by reviewing your OS X Software License.

Username and Password not recognised

Hi there, wondered if anyone could help with my latest problem.
My BT Broadband is up and running as is my BT Vision (including on Demand, but NOT Sky Sports)
I received a letter with all of my info showing a user name and password
The username was my email address (@btinternet.com) and the password was letters and number uppercase and lowercase.
BT Fon, My BT and setting my Emails up do not recognise my email address OR/AND my password.
Are there any reason the email address and password could be incorrect at BT's end or do have to wait for another set period of time to activate! Cant send a password reminder either because the email is not recognised so stuck in a circle on this one.

Have you just been activated, if so it can take a day or so for MY BT and email to recognise the email address and password.
it could also take a couple of days for fon to work.

Software : Windows XP, Outlook2003, Nokia PC Suite 6.84.10.3
First time I've tried anything like this so I may well have missed something obvious - be gentle with me!
In PC Suite I connected to my mobile using a bluetooth connection. I then used the 'Synchronise' option and chose to just match Contacts from Outlook. The data appears to have been transferred correctly.
But ... whenever I select a contact to call I get the message 'The number is not recognised, please hang-up and try again'. Any ideas? (Oddly, if I type the number in it will connect and show the correct name in the display!)
