hi every one
i had major problem with this thing
we have file server which is a member server with windows server 2012 in a domain with domain controller being installed windows server 2012.
the file server always give me unidentified network and i tried every solution i read about . disabling unused lan ports,run the command "netsh int ip reset" or some thing, but when ever the server reboot the same problem occur again . i need a
solution with out playing with firewall.
not: every time i disable or enable ipv6 in the lan the problem solved but when reboot it the problem come again.
help me please

According to the blog below, if the two conditions are meet, you will get domain profile.
Connection Specific DNS Name matches the “HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Group Policy\History\NetworkName” registry key.
Machine contact a Domain Controller via LDAP correctly.

Since this is a domain member server, please check your DNS setting first. Then confirm the connectivity to DC.
About your last sentence, I wonder what indeed you did made it work. Did either disable or enable IPv6 make it work?

Unidentified network using Hub

One of the three computers within the house will no longer connect to the internet via the Hub, the other computers are fine. The system indicates only local connection available and if you hover over the wireless connection icon, it states that it is an unidentified network. We have tried following the connection help advice to no avail. Can anyone suggest what the problem is and how we can rectify it?

"Unidentified Network" -local access -- when connecting vista 64 bit to WRTP54G router

Windows Vista will not connect to wrtp54g router (9 outta 10 times). States that it is an "Unidentified Network", and i have no access to the internet, or xbox 360. I cannot enter the router settings either
There is no problem connecting directly to the modem and then the internet.
Device manager shows no problems with Nvidia network controller. Xp Pro had no issues connecting to internet or home network.
I reset the router, no help. ipconig/release then- renew -- no help. (vista has all updates), Firewall on / off-- no difference
tried another wrtp54g -- same problem

I got into the interface -- turned off firewall-- allowed local network, but no internet--so no use. I dont have a wireless card in my desktop -- so didnt connect wirelessly. Have xbox 360 running on wired connection also -- it has always connect without problems. No changes in interface cured the problem.
I did try the registry entry fix, givin in another help window - supplied by microsoft-- called "Windows Vista cannot obtain an ip address from certain routers or from certain non-microsoft DHCP servers". (Article ID :928233 - link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928233)--- have rebooted 3 times and has connected and recognized the router every time. Crossing my fingers that its a permanent fix.

Unidentified Network after second reboot

I have a problem with my Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565. First boot after the installation everything works fine, but when I restart my computer I only get Unidentified Network. I have tried to reinstall the driver, but to no help.

Runned the Network troubleshooter? Right click on the network icon on taskbar, then select troubleshoot problems.
Please also check the following aspects:
1. Did you install any 3rd-party anti-virus on Windows 10?
If yes, please uninstall them (use Windows Defender instead), then reboot to check the network.
2. Check if any NIC related software installed, disble it or uninstall it, or seek help at the manufacturer side;
3. Check your router (or the ISP side) side, if possible, reset it to check network connectivity, some routers may have DHCP related issues that may cause IP address not available.
Further, check into Event Viewer, see if any errors logged there. If yes, upload them into OneDrive and post the shared link here.

How to solve "unidentify network"?

Hi,
I need to set up a server with no access to the internet. It is connected to an internal LAN. I'm having problem where the network is detected as "unidentify network". What services should I install on the server to solve this? I do not want to install AD as the server is a Terminal Service server.

What's your Windows Server 2008 version? Is it R2?
If it's not R2. Windows Server 2008 only has one network profile per machine for both of your NICs.
It seems that the NIC B is connected to a network which does not have a gateway device. You can try the following steps to add the DG.
a)     Go to Control Panel >> Network and Internet >> Network and Sharing Center
b)    Click 'View Status' next to the connection name.
c)     Clicks the 'Properties' button at the bottom.
d)    Highlight 'Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)' and clicks 'Properties'
e)     In the properties dialog click 'Advanced'
f)     Under 'Default gateways' there will probably be a entry for '0.0.0.0'. Remove this entry. Add the correct Default Gateway here.
g)    'OK' out of all the property dialogs until you are at the 'Network and Sharing Center' again. The adapter will attempt to reconnect again.
If the NLA still detect the “unidentified network”, it would not decrease your network security as an "unidentified network" network will apply the Public network profile and the Public firewall profile. However you can change the network profile to public via yourself.

Adobe reader make unidentified network.

adobe reader always creates a unidentified network and my PC will not connect the internet when this is happening. I must un-install adobe to gain internet access. why is this happening?

This is news to me.
I have never seen Adobe Reader accomplishing what you have stated.
Have you tried check the behavior with a different computer?
Have you checked the network logs for possible indication of Acrobat interfering with the network?

Unidentified network issues

we had a power cut recently and lot connection to the internet, since then only one out of four laptops will connect to the internet so I know the equipment works. The other laptops say they are connected but i get the icon for unidentified network. Ive reset the boxes like bt suggest, but nothing.....Im no techie expert so looking for some help on here, its very strange why all the laptops worked and now only one and also i cannot connect to the homehub on my phone which I used to be able too.....getting frustrated now, can someone help me please

Done all the resets, have rung BT (India) who were rude and would not deviate from their list of questions, even when I said I had reset everything he said I want you to do it one more time the way I do it, then he said it was a problem in my area and promised to call back, he bever called back so I rang again only to be told to do everything the other guy said to do then he hung up after I said I wasnt impressed with the level of service I had received, still unidentified network problem aaarrrggghhhhhhh

Hi S.Sanadi,
According to your description, my understanding is that “Unidentified Network” causes problem with joining domain, and this problem will be resolved automatically.
If there is no default gateway or the default gateway is useless, the network will be identified as unknown. Check to see if the IP configuration is correct when the network identified unknown. Open command prompt and type:
Ipconfig /all
If the parameter is correct, try to ping IP address of default gateway and check to see if it works well.
Besides, if the connection should be identified as a Domain network and is not, then the likely causes are failure to contact DNS servers or domain controllers on that interface. Ping the IP address of DNS server and DC to make sure that these resources
are available.

Will killing pacman have any side effects?

Hi recently while doing an upgrade with pacman, the download of a package will stop and I will not get any feedback anymore. So I leave it for a few hours but nothing happens so I decided to ^C which I know will kill pacman. What bad side effects should I expect from doing this? and is anyone else having a similar problem with pacman?

At least, I don't experience anything similar, and I am sure many other users as well.
Yes, it just hangs during download. And at random times. And no, it's no network issue because as soon as I restart it, it continues downloading. A couple of times I've left my laptop downloading updates and went away doing other things only to return an hour or two later and see that it stopped 5 minutes after it started and had been hanging the whole time.
Should I just run pacman with --debug always ? I guess I could do that.

Upgrading from FMS_4_5_0_r297 to FMS_4_5_1_r484 using ffmpeg will kill recording append ability

I would like to warn anyone using ffmpeg that upgrading to FMS_4_5_1_r484 will kill your append recording.
As discussed in http://forums.adobe.com/message/4280166 even fmle encoders are having problems appending recordings with absolute time enabled.
Reseting the recording with this query "adbe-live-event=croaporter&adbe-record-mode=record" or a change in your main.asc might be a solution for some but this will cause a disruption for clients connected to the stream.
For myself and I'm sure many others this is not a solution it seems like a bug. We need a solution that does not require a client to reset their browser page or client application which means overall disruptions in the viewer experience.
I can vouch that in FMS_4_5_0_r297 appending to a recording was done seemlessly on a 24/7 stream (and i have over 30 streams running). Sometimes for some reason an encoder will attempt to republish or will require a flush (forced restart) and with FMS_4_5_1_r484 this is not possible. Yes you can start a new recording but what happened to appending the recording, it was working.
I have tried to insert into the Event.xml a maxrestartage and removed absolute time code from Application but it will not work.
I dont know if FFmpeg has absolute time code implemented in the librtmp libraries to emulate fmle time synchronisation but even fmle users have this problem so I believe that this should be fixed in the next upgrade but for now I suggest all others who want to use a more efficient encoder such as ffmpeg as compared to fmle to be very careful when upgrading.
I did notice some new hls buffering issues that have arised from this new upgrade as well which 4.5.0 didnt have.
I am even willing to pay for support to solve this problem because 4.5.1 seems to have better monitoring in the administration console. But for now I am downgrading to FMS_4_5_0_r297 because it works.

(source is mpeg2 - mpegts 720 x 576) with ffmpeg you can copy the mpegts timecode with the -copyts option but that didnt help and I also tried -timestap now but no luck.

Unidentified Network

For some reason, when I turned my computer on, I realized that I have lost my internet access. In the taskbar, rather than saying LAN connected, it said Unidentified Network -- No connection. I tried to diable the adapter and reenable it, which starts with "identifying", but later changed back to "unidentified network". Is there any wrong settings that could have caused this? Help!

Unidentified network - when connecting on wireless

I have HP Pavillon notebook running Vista. When trying to connect to wireless I keep getting the unidentified network error. The other two laptops in my home can connect to the wireless just fine, so there is no issue with the wireless router or SPrint aircard. I have completed everything I could find on the internet about this error - without success. I have spent over 4 hours with HP support, most recently they had me perform a "recovery" to set all hardware and software back to factory settings. Still no luck. This computer can connect fine with an ethernet cable. I can successfully connect to wireless, but cannot get on the internet. Any ideas? If yes, I dont know a lot about computers... so simple steps would be appreciated.

"Unidentified network" in Domain enviroment

I have setup Lan routing millions of times on Server 2012 in Domain environment.
DC1.
ip: 10.10.0.10 mask: 255.255.0.0 gw: 10.10.0.1
Router:
ip: 10.10.0.1 (internal) mask 255.255.0.0
ip2: 192.168.1.12 (external) mask: 255.255.255.0 gw: 192.168.1.1
The problem is that the External interface saying "Unidentified network" (when I dont have any GW), when I have a GW and it have Internet access with 8.8.8.8 as DNS it says "network", not my Domain name!
The external interface have not registered in DNS on DC1.
And yes. I have disabled the Nic, and I can ping everything. The FW are off.
I am running this on ESXi. The free version.
Been at this for a day now. I have also reinstall the server, same issue.

Since AD is rely on DNS, where is your local DNS then?
Assume it is installed on the DC, I also wonder if the router works as a DNS as well.
For local clients, set your domain DNS as primary DNS. You can do this via DHCP 003 option. Regarding external name resolution, use root hint or forward to your IPS DNS.
